Chapter Nine:
It felt as though the entire mountain side was shaken up by a 5.0 on the rector scale, as the two hive guardians and myself clashed in a head on collision. Dawn, Jack, and Hunter shielded themselves from the oncoming cloud of dust and debris that was scattered through out the entire forest.
'Double...D!" Jack shouted as he coughed out any dust partials that were trying to enter his lungs.
"What the heck was that?" Hunter shouted as he rubbed the dirt and dust from his eyes. "It was like watching two runaway trains crashing into one another."
After everyone had recovered, both Jack and Hunter noticed the shock expression on Dawn's face. As she stared down through the cloud of debris, the first thing she noticed was a barely visible silhouette of myself.
"E...Edd...Eddward..." Dawn said with a shocked expression.
As everyone turned their attention towards myself, they all shared the same expression that Dawn had. But then again I'm pretty sure anyone would be surprised if they saw a six foot guy, standing his ground against two elephant sized vampires. Even through their combined forces was great, my enhance strength had enabled me to withstand the massive force behind the two hive guardians combined assault.
With that said, I used my new found strength and with the loudest battle cry that I could muster. I lifted both hive guardians off of their front legs and threw them backwards as hard as I could. Even I was surprised as I saw the two guardians sliding backwards until they came to a sudden and and explosive halt in front of the hill where the old oak tree was once standing.
I slowly collapsed onto my knees struggling to catch my breath, a few moments later I felt a hand being gently placed on my left shoulder. When I turned my head to see who it was it was Dawn, the first thing I noticed was the soft smile that she was giving me as she looked down on me.
The second thing I noticed was the light blush that was growing on the sides of her face, as she used her free hand to reach out to me. I gladly accepted and held my hand out to her's, we both held tightly onto each other as she help pull me off the ground and back on my feet.
"That was...An impressive show of skill Eddward." Dawn said. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine what about you guys?" I replied.
"Fine as we can be." Jack replied as he and Hunter approached us while Hunter wrapped his good arm behind Jack's neck.
As we all regrouped, the two guardians we're slowly regaining their footing and were attempting to get back on their feet.
"Listen we don't have much time." I began to say. "Dawn get some blood from Hunter's injuries, I'm going to need your help ripping those hive guardians armor plat..."
Suddenly I found that I couldn't speak, the whole world around me became blurry and disorientated. No matter how loud my friends were crying out to me, I couldn't hear even the slightest bit of sound, as the world around me became blackened and as cold as an autumn night. Then I felt it, a massive pair of glowing yellow demonic eyes staring down at me from behind. Those same yellow eyes that haunted my very dreams, were piercing straight into my soul. I knew what was going on, he was here somewhere in this exact same forest.
"Night Fang..." I said in a low whisper.
"Eddward...?" Dawn said as she gently placed her hand on my back.
"Jack...He's here..." I managed to say after a brief series of hysterical gibberish.
"Who is Double D?" Jack asked as he and the others grew more and more concerned with my well being.
"Jack he's here...And he's trying to release the monster within me..." I said as my breathing grew more deeper and rapid.
"Eddward, please you're not making any sense. What's this about a man trying to release the monster within you?" Dawn asked.
"Everyone...Get away...You all have to run before it's too...Agaaaa."
It was too late, the black and purple colored aura began to intensify around myself until it became a raging flame. I lost all sense of humanity as I cried out to moonlit skies. My teeth transformed from a human's to more of a canine's, my ears lost their curved shape and became more sharper, my hair was growing so thick that it snapped the hair tie at the bottom of my pony tail in two, my fingernails grew sharper and denser. And my pupils completely vanished from my eyes.
"Yes let it all go Eddward..." A mysterious voice said from the back of my mind. "There's no reason to keep the beast caged, when you know it will set itself free."
"Can't you feel it Eddward? The beast has been living off of your anger...Your hatred...Your despair for all these years..."
"And now...It craves to taste real flesh and blood once more..."
"Give into the darkness...Give into your hatred...Give in...TO THE BEAST!"
I didn't know how much longer I could keep the beast within myself, every second that passed I could feel myself losing more and more control. It was only a matter of time until I would completely lose what little control I had over myself. Suddenly a loud, ear piercing howl was echoing throughout the forest. The beast...had finally taken over.
"AWOOOOOOOOOO..."
