(I'll have some notes at the end just wanna get into the chapter)

~Chapter 18~

For all of January Alex had avoided both Lucius and Sirius like the plague. It was now February and Valentine's Day was just around the corner.

By this point both Hermione and Ginny had enough of their friend's gloominess and decided to confront her about it. The two of them found the dark haired witch reading a book by a window in their dorm room.

"Alex we need to talk, "Hermione spoke first. Alex looked up at them curious but stayed quiet. "We know you would just love to avoid the two of them for the rest of your life, but you can't. You need to straighten this out or else it's going to ruin all of your futures." Hermione continued, knowing that the witch was listening.

After she was done, Alex snapped her book shut and stood up. Staring at her friends her eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"Oh Alex," Ginny said softly, moving over to her friend, as she put down the book where she was just sitting.

"I know" She whispered, "I know I can't avoid this forever." She fought hard to keep her tears in check, "I'm scared and confused," She said suddenly, "I... I have no idea what to do." She pushed past her friends as tears began to fall. At the time the only people in the common room were the Marauders, they watched as Alex ran through. Ginny and Hermione quickly came down the stairs but she was already gone.

Alex didn't know where she was running to but her feet seemed to know. She made her way out of the castle and towards the woods. She made it to a familiar tree and with a few taps of her wand and choice words it opened up to the beautiful field that a certain black haired wizard showed her months quickly made her way in as the path closed behind her and walked to the middle of the field and laid down on the soft grass.

"What am I going to do?" She asked herself, as she looked up at the clear blue sky. "I don't want to hurt Lucius or Sirius." She turned over on her side and curled up into a ball, "Why does this have to happen to me, what did I do to deserve this?" Tears came down her face, she squeezed her eyes shut to try and stop them from falling.

The witch groaned as she carefully sat up, she felt horrible, probably because she fell asleep on the ground, "Crap, I can't believe I fell asleep out here," She said rubbing her eyes.

"You had everyone really worried about you too," A familiar voice rang out next to her, making the witch look over to see Sirius sitting next to her.

"What are you doing here?" Alex asked surprised.

"Besides the fact that I showed you this place to begin with?" Sirius smirked at her, "Everyone was worried about you. I mean you did run out of the tower and then never showed up for dinner. So we all ended up splitting up and went out to look for you." He said running a hand through his hair, "and if I didn't pass that black cat I don't think I would have thought about coming here to look for you." he smirked.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to worry everyone," Alex mumbled softly, "I just wanted to get away and I guess I fell asleep."

"I'm sorry," Sirius said, Alex looked at him confused, "I should have let go of you, I shouldn't have given you that rose or kissed you at New Years." He stated, "but I couldn't….. I couldn't forget about you," he said softly running a hand through his long black hair.

"Please Sirius don't…" Alex said turning away trying to hide fresh tears. Part of her wanted to hear what he was going to say but another part of her didn't want to hear it, it was scared. Sirius grabbed her hand trying to get her to look at him.

"Alex," Sirius whispered as he gently placed a hand on her chin and carefully pulled her to look at him.

Her mahogany eyes met his dark grey ones, Sirius smiled softly, " I could never forget about you because I love you." He told her seriously. The witch's eyes grew wide with wonder, she couldn't believe her ears.

Alex wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him close as tears flowed down her face. Sirius wrapped his own arms around the witch, not wanting to let go ever. "I'm scared Sirius," Alex whispered to him.

"Don't worry, love, we'll figure everything out, I promise." Sirius responded rubbing a hand up and down her back soothingly. The witch wanted to believe him so bad, but knew there was so much more to this then he knew, but for now she just held on tightly.

The two of them stayed like that for a while, until Alex's stomach rumbled and they realized it was really late.

"Lets hit up the kitchen before we get back, I know a few shortcuts." Sirius said with a smile as he grabbed his witch's hand and led her.

"Sirius we should head back it's after curfew." Alex said, biting her lip in worry, "We'll get caught if we do that."

"Just trust me," He replied calmly as he reached into his jacket and pulled out and old looking piece of parchment. "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good," Sirius said as he pointed his wand to the paper. "Now we can see what's going on in the castle."

"Woah, where did you get that?" Alex said with faux surprise as she looked over the familiar map.

"Me, James, Remus, and Peter made it, it helps alot with our pranks," Sirius grinned, pleased with himself. "Shit, Filch is headed this way. This way," He said quickly as he grabbed Alex's hand and pulled her close against the wall with him.

"Hey….." The blackette started to protest, but Sirius put a hand over her mouth and tossed a cloak over the two of them.

"Don't make a sound," Sirius whispered into her ear, making the witch shiver slightly, as he moved his hand off of her mouth and down to her waist with his other hand. Her back seemed hot being pressed against the wizard and she could swear her heart was racing a mile a minute.

The two watched as Filch limped past them, grumbling and mumbling about something. Sirius kept his hold on Alex as the two watched him turn the corner and both students let out a breath that they were holding. "Alright then, let's go then." Sirius said as he pulled the cloak off of them.

"Do I wanna know how you're in possession of an Invisibility Cloak?" Alex looked at the teen, smirking.

"Oh…" Sirius shrugged, "It's James' I just borrowed it." He said simply, "It's quite helpful at times."

The rest of the journey to the kitchen was simple, the house elves were pleased to help and made up and nice little back for Alex to take with her. The two then quickly made their way back to the tower only running into Peeves who started to loudly sing the 'K-I-S-S-I-N-G' song. They entered the common room, after apologizing to the Fat Lady for waking her, and Alex was immediately swarmed by two redheads and a brunette, James and Remus stood behind them.

"Alex we're so sorry," Hermione said quickly, crying.

"We swear we won't bug you about it anymore, we know going through a lot because of … our past." Ginny said continuing.

"I'm fine," Alex said reassuring her friends. "I already know have a lot to sort through when we do have to go back."

"Go back?" Lily repeated confused, the Marauders also looked confused. The girls looked at them sadly.

"We have to," Hermione said softly. "We have family and friends waiting for us back home. Us being here was only to be temporary."

"No matter how much we love it here and kinda don't wanna go," Ginny continued. "Once Dumbledore finds a safe way to get us back we'll have to go." Lily began to cry and hugged her fellow red head.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Sirius piped in as he gently pulled Alex close.

Alex looked up into his grey eyes and placed a hand on his cheek, the teen leaned into the touch. "We were going to tell everyone at New Year's but complications arose," She told him. "If I could I would stay because once we leave it will be a very long time til we will see each other again."

"Do you guys know when you are leaving?" James asked curiously. The three witches looked to him and shook their heads sadly.

"Dumbledore hasn't mentioned anything to us yet," Hermione answered him, "It's been quite madding, every time we see him we never know if he's just suddenly gonna tell us we have to leave."

"Well then we'll just have to make the time we do have you count extra special til it is time." Lily said as she wiped away tears. "But for now I have to go make my rounds and head back to my room." She gave James a kiss on the cheek, " Besides there is a blonde who is probably pacing and waiting for news about Alex." She said as she gave each the witches a quick hug.

"Lucius helped look too?" Alex asked curiously.

"Yup, so did Severus but he had to get back to the Slytherin dorms." Ginny said as Lily waved one last time and left through the portrait.

"I think i'm gonna head to bed now," Alex said softly, as she wiggled out of Sirius' arms. "Good Night," She said softly to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. As she pulled away Sirius, once again, wrapped his arms around her waist.

"You are so not leaving me with just a peck on the cheek," He smirked at the witch then pulled her into a deep kiss. He pulled away with a smirk, "Good Night, love." He said. Alex shook her head as he let her go. She gave both Remus and James a small hug and apologized for making them look for her. Once done she headed up the stairs to the girls dorm, Ginny and Hermione joined her shortly after.

The next morning the post came in and a bird landed in front of Alex. Confused since they didn't really know anyone who would send post. Upon opening the note she saw it was from the Headmaster.

'Dear Granddaughter. If you would be so kind enough to come visit me during your free period. I would like to have tea and see how you and your friends are doing at Hogwarts.
