Long chapter is long. This is where our RP actually started. Enjoy~
Day turned to night, and night to day, then back to night. John sat there, tied to the pillar, starved. John panted a bit, beginning to feel what Summoner explained as a demon's 'blood lust'. Demons could live eating packaged meat, like you find in the grocery store, but starve a demon for too long, and that demon would go crazy. John began to feel this way. Every human that passed by him looked appetizing, and he hated that feeling. John looked up at the window, thinking he saw movement and his eyes widened slightly as he saw a familiar pair of shades.
Dave! He was right outside the window. He muttered something under his breathe but John just stared at him. He then mouths 'How many guards?' John looked back at the table with his eyes, spotting only one and blinked at Dave once. He nodded and vanished from site. The guard then stood up, and started to walk towards John, who simply closed his eyes. However, a minute later, the guard yanked his head up, causing John to gasp and look up at him. The guy smirked, and, to add to John's list of injuries, banged his head against the pillar a few times. John held back a whimper, and glared up at the man, ignoring the growing headache.
"What are you gonna do about that, huh, demon?" The guard asked. John glared harder at the man.
"Shut up." John spat at him, causing him to wrap his hand around John's throat. John gasped again and suddenly, one of the doors cracked and broke off the henge as Dave kicked it, his long tail swaying in anger.
"Hey, f*cker!" Dave yelled. "I'm here!" The hunter, who just happened to be the same hunter to take John, stared at Dave with wide eyes. John chuckled a bit as the man pulled out his gun and aimed at Dave.
"That isn't gonna work. It worked on me but it won't work on Dave…" John said. The man looked at him before slowly aiming his gun at him.
"John! Why the hell did you tell him that?!" Dave yelled, crouching a bit, his tail twitching in aggravation. John simply smirked and kicked the man off his feet with his free legs. Dave watched, a smirk growing on his face. "That's why!" Dave understood as he charged the man, pinning him to the ground. The man kept an arm up, keeping Dave's fangs away from his neck as his other arm reached for his gun which he dropped.
John watched, trying to break his binds. However, the combination of hunger and pounding head made that hard to do. The man then gave up on grabbing his gun and proceeded to roll over so he was on top of Dave. Dave simply kicked him, flipping over him and against the wall. Dave got his footing and quickly grabbed the guy by the neck, holding him against the wall.
"Let me inform you of something…" Dave said, gripping the man's neck tighter. "When you mess with one of my demons, you get paid back in full." Dave's voice was full of anger dripping with venom. The hunter gripped at Dave's arm, trying to free his neck from his grip. Dave growled before he turned to face John. "John, tell me. What did this asshole do to you?"
"Well… He shot my shoulder and banged my head against this pillar a few times…" John said, closing one eye as he remembered his headache. Dave turned back to the man with a deep growl, glare sharp enough to cut steel.
"Is that so…" Dave started. Dave looked the man right in the eyes. "Well, lets be sure that if you live through this, you won't remember a thing…" Dave said, letting go of his neck but grabs ahold of his face, lifting him off the ground. "John, make sure you watch this…" John tilted his head a bit and looked at them. Dave punched the guy before pulling him away from the wall to whisper in the man's ear. "You don't mess with my mate…" Dave then slammed the man's head against the wall, creating a nice little crack in the wall. John suddenly chuckled, smelling the man's blood somehow made him go a tad crazy, before he shook his head, trying to control it. Dave heard it and looked at John before pulling the man away from the wall and slamming him against it again. "You. Don't. Mess. With. My. Demons." Dave said, slamming the man's head against the wall with every word. John watched the man's arms fall to the side, limp. Dead. John tried one last time to break his bonds before Dave looked at him. "John, have you eaten at all?"
"Not since I've been here… I would have broken these ropes hours ago if I had…" John said, looking at him. Dave looked at the newly killed hunter before tossing him to John before quickly running behind John to untie him.
"Eat up then. He's dead, so don't worry about hurting him." Dave said, watching for other guards. John just stared at the man, gulping a bit. "Hurry up. We need you at full strength…" Dave ordered him. John nodded slowly before slowly picking up the dead man's arm and taking a bite of it.
After John ate enough to get him on his feet, he wiped his mouth on his sleeve. Dave looked at him and then the dead man, back to John. "You make a mess."
"W-Well…. I haven't eaten and they kept taunting me…" John said, standing next to him. Dave shrugged and gently slapped the side of John's head.
"Maybe if you didn't get caught you wouldn't be hungry. They could have tamed you and sold you to a master, and like hell I'm letting that happen to my best friend." Dave said.
John shrugged slowly. "L-Like I could be tamed. I'm stronger than you guys give me credit for."
"You better not be boasting. I smell at least 5 hunters coming this way with maybe a tamer…" Dave explained as he walked out of the room with John. "Pop quiz. How do you fight a hunter?" After John simply shrugged, Dave answered. "You fight them tooth and nail. Don't hold back." Dave then stopped walking and put his arm in front of John to stop him before taking his shades off and throwing them across the room. A young hunter ran to them from down the hall and picked them up curiously. Dave then rushed the young hunter and gripped his arm, pulling him close. "You're gonna get us out of here or I'll kill every hunter and tamer in here." The young hunter nodded quickly, beginning to walk with Dave and John towards the exit. John and Dave kept an eye out for any other hunters or tamers, there were none. "This is way to easy."
John suddenly, for some reason unknown to him, sensed a change in the wind and pulled Dave back. "Look out!" As John pulled Dave back, an arrow barely passed Dave's face, causing Dave to let go of the hunter in surprise, letting out a curse in surprise. The young hunter ran to a tall man wielding a crossbow. "Knew it."
"Shit caked f*cking tamers…" Dave cursed under his breathe, putting his arm in front of John protectively. The tamer prepped another arrow into his crossbow. "You really think that's gonna hurt me?!" Dave challenged. The man glared at him before letting loose the arrow aimed at Dave's head. Dave gulps a bit but stands his ground, tensing his body. However, before the arrow got even close to Dave, John stepped in front of Dave and grabbed the arrow, right before the arrow would have hit his brow. Dave's eyes widened a bit but he smirked and took the arrow from John. "Nice one…" Dave said, licking the arrow a bit.
John felt his heartbeat quicken a bit and smiled slightly. "Y-Yeah… Of course." The Tamer looked at them wide eyed. Dave broke off the arrow tip and threw it at the tamer's head hard, killing him instantly.
"Missing something?!" Dave yelled. The young hunter ran out of the building, terrified and running for help. Dave rushed after the boy and jumped him, breaking his neck for a quick death. John ran to his side.
"Dave, we gotta go, more are coming." John warned.
"Okay…. Yeah…" Dave said, frowning at the dead boy. John grabbed his hand and started to run with him. Dave pulled him close and put him on his back.
"Hold on, John." Dave said, running faster than John had. John simply held onto Dave tightly, trying to not fall off. Dave runs towards a large building and jumped to the roof. He saw an open area on the roof and jumped in, discovering it to be an abandoned warehouse. He walked to another room that was a roof and puts John down.
"Wh-What do we do now, Dave?" John asked him, looking at him. "I don't know…" Dave said, running his hand through his hair. John leaned against the wall, his hand on his head, taking deep breathes.
"How bad is your head?" Dave asked. John looked at him slowly.
"It… it hurts a bit but not to bad… Just a headache."
"Let me see…" Dave ordered. John looked at him and sighed before turning his head to let Dave look. Dave ran his fingers in his hair, both examining his head and, without realizing it, causing John's heart to start beating quicker again. "Doesn't look to bad. You'll be fine there. Didn't you say you were shot?"
"Y-Yeah… In my shoulder. But it will be fine." John said, turning to face him. Dave looked at him before putting his hands on John's shoulders, forcing him to sit in one of the closest chairs.
"Bullshit. Let me look at it." Dave ordered. John winced a bit.
"Man, sometimes I forget how strong you are." John said before moving his shirt just enough for Dave to examine his shoulder. Dave did so, before pulling off his own shirt.
"Take your shirt off. I'm wrapping this up."
"Dave… You don't need to… It's fine." John said, pulling his sleeve up. Dave growled at him.
"No it's not." Dave growled. John stared at him before slowly taking his shirt off. Dave started ripping his shirt up and looking over John's wound. "Is the bullet still in there?"
John shook his head. "I think it went straight through…" John explained, trying not to stare at him. Dave nodded and wrapped John's shoulder with some of his shirt, tying it tight, causing him to wince.
"There." Dave said, patting John's shoulder.
"Th-Thanks." John whispered.
"Yeah. Whatever." Dave said, tossing the remnants of his shirt into the nearest trashcan. John looked down, feeling useless again. "What now?" Dave asked.
"L-Let's go… We should head back." John said, standing up and putting his shirt back on.
Dave pushed him back into the chair. "Let's wait. It just started raining. That will cover our scent." Dave said. John simply nodded and looked down. Dave leaned against the wall.
The two stayed there in silence as the rain fell, about 30 minutes. John looked at Dave slowly. "S-So… Everyone else is okay, right?" John asked. Dave shrugged.
"I was more focused on running after you." Dave simply stated.
John simply hung his head. "I-I see…"
"Let's head out soon. I need to be sure my sisters are okay." Dave said, pulling his phone out of his pocket. John nodded and leaned his head against the wall. Dave dialed Rose's number and put the phone to his ear. "Hey sis. How are you?" Dave said. John watched him. "Well I'm stuck in a building hiding from hunters and shit…" Dave looked at John. "Yeah he's fine… Nah but I did kill two hunters and a tamer." Dave chuckled. "Yeah… Yeah. So see you later." Dave said before hanging up and looking at John. "Let's go."
