Percy was late. It was the his first day as a sophomore at Goode High- meaning it was his second year in one school for the first time ever. Arriving late, what a great way to start the year off. He was in the shower, trying to scrub the shampoo from his hair as quickly as possible, and willing the water pressure to be just a little more powerful, and the temperature to be hotter.

This wasn't unusual for him, the year before, he was running into his classroom right as the bell rang every day. However, this was the first time a god had materialized in his bathroom.

Percy turned the knob and reached out of the shower curtain to grab the towel that was sitting on the sink ledge. His eyes caught the glint of beach-blonde hair, and he knew it could only be one person- well, god, that it could be.

"Lord Apollo!" Percy stammered, quickly wrapping himself in his towel. His cheeks were flushed red, "What- what are you doing here?"

Apollo flashed the son of Poseidon a pearly white smile. "What, I can't pay my favorite little cousin a visit? Nah, you're right. I do need something. But first, we have other matters to attend to."

Percy cut in, "And I'm sure it's very important, but can I get dressed first?"

Apollo shrugged, "Whatever. Humans and your need for clothing… I miss the good days, when a man could just let loose-"

Percy shot out of the bathroom, cursing his luck that today, out of all days, a god decided he needed a favor. He threw on boxers, a tee shirt and jeans, then walked out of his room.

Apollo had made himself at home, and was rummaging through the fridge, making Percy glad that his mother and Paul had already left for work.

Apollo cursed, "No nectar."

"Uh, Lord Apollo? What was the important thing you needed to tell me?"

He smiled again and flipped his abnormally golden hair out of his face, his blue eyes shining with pride.

"You got yourself a girlfriend! Way to go, man!" He held his hand out for a fist bump, and Percy returned the gesture hesitantly.

"I mean, daughter of Athena," Apollo made a face. "Not my type, but if you like know-it-all's…"

"Hey!" Percy protested.

Apollo ignored him, "But she is kinda hot… Don't worry, I'm not moving in on your girl." He winked at him. "Athena would kill me. Well, not literally, but you know what I mean."

Percy was still trying to process what was going on. A god had decided that he needed to interrupt his shower to congratulate him on getting a girlfriend.

"Thanks, I guess?"

Apollo clapped him on the shoulder, "No problem, bro. First real girlfriend, right? I mean, you had Rachel, my oracle. But I don't think she really counted."

Percy shrugged, "I don't think so. Is that all you wanted? To congratulate me?"

The god laughed, "No, no! I don't waste my time visiting mortals just to chat, little cousin. I need a favor."

"Which is?"

"Well, like you, I recently found myself a lady," Apollo smirked. "And I need you to deliver something to her."

Percy raised an eyebrow, "Why can't you just ask Hermes?"

His smirked turned into a scowl, "Can't. Zeus banned us from making Hermes deliver things to our… lovers, if you will."

Percy had the sudden desire to bleach his brain, as he imagined his father getting intimate with a mortal woman.

"Okay, enough information. Where is she?"

The sun god grinned, "So you'll do it! Thanks, dude. She works at the Macy's on West 34th Street. Name's Valerie. Make sure you get it there by nine."

A small jewelry box popped into Apollo's hand, and he gave it to Percy.

"Again, good job scoring Annabeth," he said. "But I'm afraid Aphrodite's not done yet." He shimmered out of existence, leaving a very confused Percy Jackson standing in the middle of his kitchen.

He groaned and picked up the phone. It wasn't going to be fun explaining to his mom why she needed to call Goode, and tell them he wouldn't be attending that day.
