Rio the Darkness 5: Alternative Darkness

I bet all of you were shocked about what happened on the last chapter, weren't you? Well, let's see what will happen now in the previous time.

chloemcg: Yeah, Blu should try that, but I doubt Lenny would listen to him. And it's cool. I understand what it's like to get something done in time. No worries. And thanks.

Blu suddenly gasped loudly to himself after he had just remembered what happened and how all of this happened. He and Lenny both touched the Orb of Light together and that must have send them into Lenny's dreams where he is King of Rio.

Blu rubbed the back of his feathery neck with his right wing, now fully understanding what had happened. "I know...I know how it happened! It was the Orb of Light! I have to get it back."

He stood up onto his talons, stretching his wings out from his sides until he froze when realizing how could he stop Lenny? Lenny was too powerful with the Orb, and even though Blu now has three different powers, he still was not ready to take him head on.

"How can I defeat, Lenny?" Blu talked to himself, while sitting back down in his nest with his face covered up by his two wings. "I'm not powerful enough...I'm not strong enough...I'm not smart enough...He has the power of Light, and what do I have? Black magic..."

Blu placed both his wings onto his head while laying back down into his nest and closing his eyes, trying his best with all his intelligence to figure out how he could possibly get himself to be stronger, faster, and able to beat almost anyone.

But who could help him? Sapphire does not look like she can defend herself in combat, Joe does not really do much, David is just a medic, and Rico, who does seem to handle himself well, but can be easily distracted by his alcohol.

However, there was one person who could possible help Blu, and that was no other than the mysterious watcher who Blu had encountered at least four times, and during the fourth encounter, he had left Blu a note with some mysterious numbers.

A huge smile raised on the blue macaw's beak as he clipped his wingtips together like fingers and quickly leaned over his nest to grab the note that he left next to him. He opened up the note and once again, read the numbers. "Hmmm. "3-18-9-19-20-15 18-5-4-5-14-20-15-18?". I have to figure out what they mean."

Blu sat back up into his nest before he grabbed a piece of paper and pencil from his backpack to hopefully figure out what these numbers meant. He began studying the numbers while writing down some suggestions on what the answer could be on a piece of paper.

"Hmmm. Wait a minute-numbers can be decoded into letters, and with these amount of numbers, they could spell a word!" Blu enthusiastically said, as he held the pencil in his talon and began writing down numbers and letters onto a piece of paper. "Three is C, eighteen is R, and nine is I."

After a couple of minutes, Blu finally decoded the numbers into words, and with his brains, Blu was indeed correct: they did spell a word. The numbers were decoded into the word Cristo Redentor. What could that mean?

"Cristo Redentor?" Blu talked to himself, tapping his pencil against his chin, trying to remember where he heard that word before. It was portuguese, and Blu knew he had heard that word before from Jewel's language lessons. "Cristo Redentor? Cristo Redentor?"

The blue macaw suddenly gasped when he remembered what Cristo Redentor means translated in English. "Cristo Redentor! It's portuguese for Christ the Redeemer...The Christ the Redeemer statue! That's where I have to go!"

Without hesitation, Blu leaped up onto his talons and made haste to get out of the rebel base and had to make his way near the city of Rio de Janeiro once again in effort to find the mysterious watcher, and hopefully, get some answers too.

A short while later, Blu had sneaked out of the rebel base without anyone knowing and was now making his way towards the once beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro, heading straight for the Christ the Redeemer after decoding the numbers into the words.

Hopefully, his calculations would be correct.

Blu finally made it to the Christ the Redeemer statue and flew towards the very top of the statue and perched himself down onto the Christ the Redeemer's head. He placed both his wings to his sides while patiently waiting the mysterious watcher to appear (if his calculations were correct of course). "So...Here I am...Waiting...And standing on Jesus' head."

Before long, the sound of flapping shot through Blu's eardrums, and he turned around and lucky for him, he was correct. The mysterious watcher had appeared once again for the fifth time before he performed a barrel-roll across the statue's arm and landed perfectly down a couple of feet away from Blu.

Still with his mask over his face with only his eyes showing, the mysterious watcher spoke to Blu when he had his full attention to him. "I knew you would find me, Blu."

"You did leave me a riddle, remember?" Blu reminded with his wings folded, before he got serious and demanded to know who he was, why he was following him, and what he wanted? "Who are you? What do you want? Why are you watching me?"

"We have been giving many names, but you will come to know me as Drako." the mysterious watcher answered, revealing one of his many names to be Drako for Blu to know his name. "I am the loyal servant of the Sacred Order of Rio."

"Just what I need. Another secret sacred order." Blu thought to himself while rolling around his eyeballs, remembering the first sacred order he met which was Vadin and his brotherhood members. But for now, it was time for find out what Drako wanted. "So, you're a part of Sacred Order. What does that have to do with me?"

"I bring a message to you, Blu." Drako replied, before he began to warn Blu of a very important prophecy that may come true. "Dark days are coming, Blu. The prophecy is coming true. You are the warrior that will defeat the King and restore order through Rio. You are the one who will save the day, and if you don't, fires will rage, Rio will die, your loved ones will die, and you will die too."

Blu's expression changed and his head hung low, not believing that if he did not stop Lenny soon, all of Rio would be destroyed. "I...I don't believe it..."

"Believe what you will, Blu." Drako said, pulling out another smoke pellet from the belt he was wearing, preparing to vanish away once again. "The message has been delivered, and we will meet again one day, Blu."

The mysterious watcher threw his smoke pellet onto the ground, sending a wave of smoke for him to disappear out of plain sight.

After the smoke had cleared after a few seconds, Blu saw the mysterious watcher had vanished. But the important thing was that he understood what needed to be done, and if he did not do this soon, everyone and everything that he loved would be destroyed.

"I'm...I'm part of a prophecy. I don't...I don't believe it." Blu talked to himself while he looked down towards the ground below where he spotted multiple military macaws down below. "I...I know what needs to be done...I have to confront Lenny and finish this once and for all!"

Blu extended his wings and jumped from the statue, heading straight down towards the ground like a missile. Before he would hit the ground, Blu extended his wings to slow him down before he landed directly down in the middle of all of the military macaws.

The military macaw did not hesitate to try and capture him. All of them ran towards him and one of them shouted: "Get him!"

As they got closed, Blu curled his wings like fists and slammed them down onto the ground, sending a huge shockwave around him from his new power, and knocking away all of the military macaws, who screamed as they landed down onto their backs.

Blu got back up onto his talons while placing his wings back to his sides. He looked up at the crystal-clear sky and swore a promise of something quietly to himself. "Lenny...I'm coming for you...And we're gonna sit things right-one way or another."

A little while later, Blu had travelled back to the underground rebel base with a big announcement to make for everyone in the entire room (including the birds who are there after they were rescued). He called everyone into the meeting room where there was so many birds, not everyone got the chance to sit down. Most of them had to stand up.

When everyone had arrived to the meeting room, Blu (along with Sapphire and Rico standing next to him) was standing in front of the entire room, and he kindly asked for silence for everyone so he could continue, but no one seemed to listen. "Umm...Everyone...Can you...? Everyone...Please listen...Everyone..."

Sapphire decided to join in and tried to keep the crowd for talking so Blu could continue. "Everyone...Would you mind...Keeping...It...Down...Please...?"

"Hey, shut up!" Rico yelled, causing everyone to fall in complete silence and turn their attention to the front, doing Blu's job for him. He drank out of a bottle of vodka before he gave Blu to signal to continue. "Okay, Blu. I got their attention."

"Uh, thanks Rico." Blu awkwardly thanked, before clearing his throat, preparing to continue the rest of his announcement. "Okay, everyone, listen up and I'll explain: as you all know, King Lenny is destroying everything we stood for, and if we don't stop him soon-all of our Jungle will be destroyed."

"What are we going to do?" Cobal the blue macaw asked, calling out to Blu from the chair he was sitting on while holding up his right wing in the air for Blu to see him.

"We're going to attack Lenny's pyramid." Blu declared, causing everyone to quietly whisper to themselves, thinking it over. "Okay, okay, everyone. I know it's shocking, but if we don't do something soon, we are all going to die."

"He's right." Sapphire agreed, folding his wings together, agreeing and improving of Blu's plan. "Lenny is too powerful and too dangerous. We have to stop him, now."

"But how?" Chloe the yellow macaw inquired, calling out to Sapphire from where she was standing while holding up her right wing in the air for permission to speak. "How can we defeat the military macaw?"

"She's right." Crexis the purple macaw agreed, wondering how they could beat the military and their king when there are just so many. "There is just too many of them. How can we defeat them?."

"Oh, but we're already prepared." Blu answered, smirking a little as he turned around and picked something up from the table behind him. He turned back around and revealed to the others what he was carrying in his talon: a small golden ring which looked like it belonged to a human.

"A ring?" Rico quiered, looking at the golden ring in Blu's talon all worried like. "What you gonna do with a ring?"

"Well, Rico my friend. We are going to use this to hire an army." Blu answered to the Hawk's question before grinning a little while looking at the ring held in his talon. He quietly finished the rest of his sentence to himself while still looking at his ring. "A good army, too."

Meanwhile, somewhere amongst the Southern part of the Jungle of Rio de Janeiro were a band of marmoset monkeys-always causing mischief and taking things that did not belong to them for their leader: a brown marmoset named Mauro who always wore a golden watch, a paperclip in his white fur across, and small rings across his wrists.

During this very moment, he and all of his henchmen were dancing together in an open area with various items around them, including a stereo playing music-which Mauro had claimed to "Found" or "Borrowed".

I Can't wait.. for the weekend to begin,
(I..I..I..I..I)

I'm working, all week long,
(I..I..I..I..I)
I dream the days away,
I wanna... sing my song
(I..I..I..I..I)

So let the music play
I have to get my fix, and fly tonight
and when the clock strikes 6, on Fri-day Night
I need to blow it all away
(I..i..i..i..i)

I Can't wait.. for the weekend to begin,
(I..i..i..i..i)
I Can't wait.. for the weekend to beg-

The marmosets soon stopped their dancing with their music was suddenly cut off. Mauro looked towards his stereo where he saw two blue macaws (male and female) and a black hawk standing in front of his stereo. He silently growled, not liking it when people interfere with his things. "Hey! Why did you turn of my stereo?"

Blu was the first one to answer the marmoset leaders question. Although he once remembered Mauro and his henchmen almost killing him not too long ago back in his old world, he knew things were different here, and had no choice but to ask for his help in order to build up an army.

"Because we have things to discuss, Mauro." Blu answered, walking closer to the leader of the marmosets, hoping he could convince him to join them in their quest to bring down the King and his army.

The other marmosets were about to step in and defend their leader from the blue macaw, but Mauro placed out his paw, signalling for them to stop.

"Very well, macaw." Mauto agreed, before clicking his fingers together for his men to bring him something: a small soft chair to sit on. His men placed the chair right behind him, and seconds later, Mauro sat down on it before asking the blue macaw what he wanted. "What do you want to discuss?"

"Me and all of the rebels are planning to attack the King's pyramid and bring down King Lenny." Blu explained to the marmoset leader while folding his wings together. "And we want your help."

"My help, huh?" Mauro said, picking up a small soda bottle and slurping out a drink through the straw. "And what's in it for me?"

Blu responded by extending his right wing a little out from his side and pulling out something hidden inside with his talon. He held up a shiny, golden ring in his talon, and already he could tell Mauro was interested.

Mauro and all of his marmosets examined the golden ring closely, all of them wanting it for themselves. "Ooooooh."

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Blu grinned, while flipping the ring into the air before catching it again and handing it over to Mauro, hoping the monkey would not double-cross them and take it for granted. He and his men are thieves of course. "Help us, and it's all yours."

Mauro examined the ring closely before he smiled and placed his newly ring around his wrist. He held out his paw to Blu, happy as ever to help. "Okay. We'll do it!"

"Alright!" Blu whooped, accepting the marmosets paw shake with his talon before they began shaking in agreement. Blu ended the talon shake not too long after and looked over at Sapphire, who had been waiting the entire time. "Sapphire! We did it!"

"Great job, Blu!" Sapphire congratulated, before she looked to her left and noticed there was no sign of Rico anywhere. She arched a curious eyebrow while scratching his chin with a talon toe. "Hey, where did Rico go?"

Came here to get ya, but I can't wait
To grab me a partner and cut a rug up tonight

Blu, Sapphire, and Mauro turned their attention to the sound of the music where they saw the stereo had been turned back on, and now the marmosets were all dancing together with Rico leading them in the middle.

I found a place
Where we can boogie, boogie tonight

"Haha. This is fun!" Rico cheered out loudly, before performing different funkey moves with the marmosets, dancing around while singing along to the music. "#I found a place where we can boogie!#"

I found a place
Where we can boogie, boogie

Mauro looked at the hawk all weird-like with an eyebrow raised, wondering why on Earth did he just decide to dance. He looked back towards the blue macaw and decided to ask. "What's wrong with him?"

"We have no idea, Mauro." Blu replied, folding his wings together while watching Rico and all of the marmosets dance together.

Hope you ready, here we are
I said we're off in the party, yeah
Let me wet my throat, get two or three
Then it's on to the dance floor, follow me

And now we finally have some answers. With his brains, Blu found The mysterious watcher named Drako, and Blu is part of a prophecy. Ooohhh. And now we have the marmosets on the rebel's team. Let's see if they can bring King Lenny down working together.
