Rio the Darkness 5: Alternative Darkness

Okay, everyone, the end is near. Before we begin this chapter, I would like to thank everyone for reading. I would put your names in, but there are too many of you and I might accidently miss out a couple of authors names. Anyway, back to the chapter...Enjoy.

The following day, Blu had decided to be with his family again for the remaining day. He made it to his tree hollow and spent some time with the lovely Jewel while their children played together outside of the tree hollow.

Blu sighed as he moved both of his wings around Jewel, whom was holding sleeping Jessica in her wings, slowly cradling her side to side.

The blue macaw spoke to his wife as he laid his head down on her. "This is nice, isn't it, Jewel?"

"Yeah." she agreed, laying her head down onto Blu's chest. "Just like the life we have always wanted, Blu: peaceful."

"Peaceful...Yeah, I guess we got what we always wanted, Jewel." Blu replied, snuggling closer to her to make her comfortable and keep her warm, despite the fact Rio was usually a warm place.

He looked towards Jewel while still keeping his wings over her. "Jewel, can I ask you something?"

Jewel wondered what Blu wanted to ask her, but decided to answer anyway. "Sure, Blu. What's on your mind?"

"I was just wondering..." Blu paused, trying to figure out what he was going to say next. "...Now that we have a peaceful love together. What do you think we will do?"

"What will we do?" Jewel quiered. "Well, we will live normal lives; like birds usually wood. We can fly around together, we can go on dates with each other, we can even visit Linda a couple of times if you want to."

"Sure..." he smiled, closing his eyes and holding onto Jewel a little more, happy that she answered exactly what he wanted to hear. "We can do that."

While they were together again, Blu closed his eyes and began taking his memory back to every part of his life that has happened since the events of when he first gained the Darkness, and how it took him through a living nightmare, but remembered how he stuck with Jewel almost all the way.

The past

The Blue Macaw felt himself where he noticed bandages around his body, right wing, and around his forehead.

"Blu?" the voice said again.

Blu looked forward where he could see Jewel, also with bandages around her body. "BLU! You're ok, thank god!" Jewel said, thankfully. Jewel laid down in the nest, and gently hugged Blu, being careful of his injuries.

"You're ok Blu. You're ok." Jewel said, with her wing, around his neck, and her chest cuddled on his side.

Blu put his good wing (left wing) over Jewel.

The two reunited lovebirds covered in bandages kissed each other, beak to beak for a full 10 seconds. After they were done kissing, Jewel kept her wings, around him, and also rested her head on his chest.

Blu also kept his good wing over her.

"I love you so much, Tyler Blu Gunderson." Jewel said, cuddling into his chest feathers.

"I love you too, Jewel." Blu replied, pulling her a little closer.

The morning was very peaceful morning in the Jungle in all of Rio. Blu and Jewel sat in the nest, looking at there newly born children. They had two boys and one girl, who were only a day old; they couldn't talk, heck they couldn't even walk without falling over. There appearance's wasn't covered yet: only a couple of feathers were grown on each of their bodies.

"Wow, they're beautiful." Blu said, smiling.

"Yep, but we still need names for them." Jewel reminded.

Blu placed a wingtip on his chin. "How about I name the boy's?"

"That sounds good. And I name the girl?" Jewel replied.

"Yep." Blu smiled. "So, what do you wanna call her?"

"Hmmmm?" Jewel hummed, thinking of a name. "How about, Crystal?"

"Crystal? That's a nice name." Blu said, with a smile.

"Good, Crystal it is." Jewel said. "Now what do you wanna call the boys?"

"I wanna call them...How about, Azul and Rey?"

"Ok, Crystal, Azul and Rey it is then." Jewel said. Blu smiled in response until he heard a slight chirping sound. Blu and Jewel looked at their offspring where they noticed they were beginning to wake up, from their sleep.

"They're waking up." Blu said. Rey was the first to awake, he blinked his small big brown eyes, to see Blu smiling at him. Rey used his tiny wings to get on his feet and walk over to his Father. Being only one day old, Rey nearly fell over, luckily Blu quickly put his wing around him to keep him on his feet. "Whoa, easy son." Blu said.

Blu helped the small baby walk over to him. Rey put his wings out, as a symbol of he wanted to be picked up. Blu picked up his son, and laid him down in his wing. Rey relaxed and snuggled into Blu's chest.

Blu smiled, before seeing Jewel, who was holding Azul in her wings, as for Crystal: she was cuddled into Jewel's belly. "I like this, Jewel." Blu said, giving Rey a little stroke on the head.

"Me too." Jewel agreed, as she began to rock Azul side-to-side, and hummed to a song. The hours slowly went by, as the family sat in their tree, thinking about what the future holds for them.

Blu picked up Rey in his wings and laid him down in his wing. "Not long now until they'll be able to talk."

Blu was correct indeed. Rey, Azul and Crystal were almost 2-weeks-old, and they could walk perfectly on their own now. And for their words, all they would have to do now, is wait.

Jewel, like Blu, picked up Crystal and laid her down in her wings. "I know...Our Jungle is once again safe."

"Indeed. At least your children didn't get hurt." Arlene said.

"Yeah, I love them so much." Jewel sighed, holding her head down next to Crystal's.

Arlene smiled at the lovebirds, before she felt a slight tug on her wing. Arlene looked down and saw it was Azul, who wanted to be picked up. Arlene picked up Azul in her wings and laid him down. "Oh hey there, Azul."

Blu looked at Jewel for a few seconds until he heard a slight mumble. Blu looked down at Rey, who was looking at his father. "Rey, did you just say something-"

"Daddy?" Rey spoke his first words, which was a complete shock to Blu.

"Auntie Arlene?" another baby voice said.

Arlene looked down and saw Azul and talked too, just like his brother.

"Mommy?" one more voice said.

Jewel raised a huge smile and looked down at Crystal, who was the one and last one to talk. "Oh, my...

"Yes, haha, they talked!" Blu cheered, as he hugged Rey close to his chest.

Arlene's jaw dropped as she hugged Azul close to her neck. "Oh my...They talked."

"My baby girl talked!" Jewel said, as she moved her head down on top of Crystal and nuzzled her head gently.

"My little boy talked." Blu said, still hugging Rey in his dark blue wings.

"Well your two little boys talked, or my nephew talked." Arlene said, as she looked at Azul, who was looking at her too.

Blu broke the hug off of Rey and looked over at Arlene with a smile. "Arlene...To us, you're family...And Azul is your nephew."

"Auntie Arlene." Azul repeated a second time.

"That's my nephew." Arlene smiled.

"This is just what I wanted. Peace and quiet." Blu said smiling.

"Me, too, Blu." Jewel replied, looking at her husband with a smile. "Me, too."

ewel didn't answer. Instead, she took Blu's wing and watched him sit down next to him. "Blu, I have something you need to know."

Blu didn't know why Jewel was upset, but decided to ask why anyone. "Okay, what is it?"

Jewel held Blu's right wing in both her wings and without hesitation, she just came out with the news and prayed Blu couldn't be angry or upset. "Blu...I'm pregnant."

"...You're pregnant." Blu quiered, a little surprised and a little shocked.

Jewel nodded in response while looking away from her husband.

While the macaws went silent for a few seconds, Arlene looked at Blu with a worried face while thinking to herself: "Please don't freak out, please don't."

Jewel looked back up at her husband, who moved himself closer to her. And just when Jewel thought Blu was going to scream in rage, she felt herself being pulled into a hug by Blu.

"Jewel, that's wonderful!" Blu said, hugging Jewel in his dark blue feathery wings, keeping his head rested on the top of Jewel's head. "We're having another baby!"

Jewel moved her eyeballs up to see Blu with a confused face. "You're not mad?"

"How can I be mad, Jewel?" Blu asked, still holding onto Jewel like he never wanted to let her go ever again. "We're having a baby!"

Jewel smiled as she moved her wings around Blu's back and hugged in return with her eyes closed and head rested on Blu's chest. "Thank you, Blu."

Present time

Blu smiled after he had just remembered all of the good times he had with Jewel and his family, despite the fact there was danger along the way, but that never seemed to stop them. Blu swore from now on he would take good care of his family and protect them with his life, even if that would mean taking his own life for them.

He would never let them get hurt...Ever again.

Looks like things are going to be peaceful for the blue macaw family from now on. These were all flashbacks from the previous Rio the Darkness stories...

Grand Final chapter coming next.
