Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot and possibly coming OCs...in short, I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh!
A/N: Hey there! I got a good chance of actually typing this in a computer so hopefully I won't have anymore problems on spellings and other stuff. But I'm not really sure about that, so I'll just leave you readers read this chapter.
OH, and this is a special update for the holiday season (supposed to be as this is Jan 1 now), meaning there will be no more A/N -except disclaimers- the following chapters until the end of the last chapter. So this is probably my second last A/N.
;) Hope you don't miss me too much.
Chapter 22: All in Anzu
Anzu was scared and hurt. Since the day she and her sister fought about Tèa hurting Yugi, the Pharaoh's personal servant, she didn't go back to their shared room.
Now that there was a lock down because of the poison incident to both the Pharaohs, she was afraid that this was all her sister's doings. And she didn't like that idea one bit.
She was there, when everything happened.
That horrible thing.
When her sister pushed Yugi with her magic from the window to the balcony the young servant was standing on, and made everything just passed by as it happened. She was just very thankful that the three -Yugi,Yami, and the Nameless Pharaoh- were still in good shape.
But she got a bit confused by her sister's reaction after the magic happened.. Téa was overlooking somewhere else from her spot, confused and frustrated. Anzu thought it was because of the kiss, but Anzu knew better than that. Her reaction should have been more of an anger than confused. So that got Anzu's attention.
She started investigating on what the hell was going on by roaming around the palace with one Palace guard by her side. She would sometimes ask him if anyone in the visitors were acting strangely or gone missing but she never got her answer.
Of course, how could she forget? she's also one of those visitors.
Right now, they were in their 11th day of roaming around. She didn't get much freedom around this Palace like she could back home alright?
While they were walking, Ryou, Malik, and Jou passed by them.
"We should go and check outside if..." Was the last thing she heard before they got too far away. 'If what?' she asked herself.
She was suddenly bumped by the shoulder. Anzu had a glimpse of the clothing they wore, It was a black cloak that covered his whole body, and he could almost blend through the halls without getting spotted by the guards. She fully turned around to scold whoever bumped her, but she froze. She didn't know why but she suddenly felt her blood run cold. As if that person was someone she know in the past that did something really horrible. 'But who?'
"Are you okay ma'am?" Asked the palace guard that was accompanying her. Anzu blinked, almost forgetting the guard beside her.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. Let's go, I'm hungry. Please accompany me until the end. "
"As you wish."
"Oh, and can you also guide me to Princess Mai's room. I would like to talk to her after."
"Will do."
And then they were off.
~The next day~
Anzu still shivers whenever she thinks about that cloaked man from yesterday, but more over, she never saw The Pharaoh's personal servant walking around, servicing the sick Pharaohs by at least getting something like Wet towels or fruits. Actually, the last time she saw Yugi was at the Wedding itself.
Then her eyes widen in worry. 'Could he have done that horrible thing?' she thought because it does make sense, he's the oonly one who brought the drinks. But...He wasn't the one who poured it in the cup...did he?
She immediately called the palace guard that accompanied her throughout all her roaming around the palace and told him that she wants to visit the kitchen if she could. The palace guard agreed to her but only because that's where he was heading anyways. It was his break.
She smiled and thanked the palace guard for accompanying her again.
They were once again walking, then turned to the right. She sweatdropped when she saw it was a very very long hall. While they were walking, she saw a figure jogged out of one of the chambers and then out of sight. She wondered why, but she kept herself from asking.
Then when they reached A chamber door, it was open. Then she heard it.
"Now the plan for Marik, Ryou, Jou, and Yugi."
"W-what plan?"
"Anzu?!"
They were all honestly shocked by her appearance. But she was more worried than anything else. What happened to those four? Did her sister do something again for them to make a plan for the servants?
One of them looked angry at her, and she took one step back. Another one probably noticed this action and said "Oh no, it's ok. My friend here just got mad about his missing lover."
"Shut up, Malik."
"Both of you, be quiet." One she recognize as the High Priest Seth. But then they started bickering.
That's when she spoke up. "Tell me, did my sister do anything to them again?"
They fell quiet, as if realizing something right now and thought of how stupid they were for not noticing it earlier? Then Malik spoke up. "That's it! Téa must have kidnapped them when we were no where near the group!"
"But then where is she going to put them in. We're in a lock down, no one is supposed to be walking around except for the ones who work or live here." Seth said, eying Anzu cautiously.
She noticed this, "Oh, don't worry. I have one of your Palace guards walking with me." She said calmly. He nodded. Then she remembered her question from earlier. "You never answered my question."
Seth looked at her apologetically, then replied with "We're not yet sure, Princess Anzu. And for the plan," he paused, and thought of something before saying "It's classified."
Anzu nodded in understanding. The three excused themselves and Anzu apologized for keeping them in place. They said their goodbyes and parted.
This day was actually weird for her, but she needed to see if her hunch was... Well, she didn't know if she wanted it to be right or wrong, but it could at least ease her mind out of it.
When they got to the kitchen, she was not surprised by the business inside for it was normal, but she was surprised by how rich they were with food despite the fact that that they were in the middle of a freakin dessert.
She asked one of a woman who was one of the people working here if the Pharaoh's personal slave was the one who Poured the drink for both royals.
"Oh yes. To be honest, I saw him doing it myself." The woman replied. This made Anzu really happy that she got a witness, and asked if there was anything suspicious around there when he did it, but the woman shook her.
Then she made a look in her face and spoke, "I did smell something horrible when I was around. I'm not sure what it is, but I think the Pharaoh's personal servant noticed it too. He even asked one of us if we smelled it and some of us said yes. Though some of us didn't mind it as most of the time someone would release bad smoke besides one of the windows of this kitchen."
Anzu smiled at this, and thanked the woman for being so kind to answer. She got really hungry after that and asked again if she could have food for her and the guard beside her. The woman nodded happily as she finally got something else to do than sit around and sort the fruits.
Anzu thanked the woman again for her service, then she and the guard went back in her room and ate in the balcony.
she always liked his company, but she love Mai's company even more. So she visited her after they ate.
