Chapter 23: All in Tèa
Tèa is so frustrated. She is, after all, in love with the Pharaoh.
She's the only one who wanted to ruin everything after Yami got here and took her precious Pharaoh. Or so she thought.
When the 'incident' from the Palace's main balcony happened, it got her really confused. She should have sense a fellow witch or wizard near her or at least inside this place, but she sensed nothing. Not even a tiny point of magic like what Yami has. But who would try to kill the Pharaoh's personal servant? Is there something in the peasant's being that's enough to actually get killed?
Whatever the reason was, she still needs to get rid of Yami from the Pharaoh's side.
But it was too late, the Pharaoh himself proposed to the Prince of Japan.
She came back to her chamber to plan for revenge. She isn't going to let this happen, no, she wants the Pharaoh to die. We know how the saying goes, 'if you can't have the person you like and love the most, then nobody else should.' So she set a plan on killing him on the wedding day. She was lucky to be invited in that awful occasion but alas! the Pharaoh gave her chance.
'Tch, two months before the wedding, huh. Then I'll just have to be creative with my revenge. Let's see what this Prince and my lovely Pharaoh can do.' she thought as she locked the door and took out a cauldron along with bunch of ingredients for making potions. 'I'll just create more potions as I go. I made a bunch of potions that I still wanted to try, but I think I want them to be tried on that little twerp. Yugi.'
But even though she finished those potion in three weeks straight, she refrained herself from testing it out on Yugi. She thought it would be best if she did everything on that horrid day called 'wedding day'. So she took a break from everything and went out for a walk. She was surprised how everyone is so busy that when one or two servants bumped her by accident the didn't even turn around. They just said a quick sorry but nothing else, really.
The day of the wedding came buy and Tèa felt disgusted. The color actually didn't match in her opinion. Whomever thought of the theme color had a pretty bad taste. But she refrained herself from saying it loudly. Of course, someone might hear her, and everything would be in ruins. She has a plan after all.
Then she remembered a part of her plan. She needed to know if the other magic user is in the area. She tried searching for their presence but all she really got was the presence of that disgusting Prince Yami.
When the ceremony started, she felt dizzy. It was as if something was pushing out from the back of her very mind. Like she was forgetting something. She tried to shake it off but the feeling won't go away.
But when they all cheered and drank their cups of beverages for the the Pharaoh and his new significant other (of course she didn't cheered for them), did everything became like a puzzle she hated to solve.
CLING!
CLANG!
Was heard before the two pharaoh dropped down. Everyone panicked, then all of a sudden there was a lock down and Tèa was stuck in her own room again.
It didn't bother Tèa one bit. But what really bothered her was the dark presence she got before the two Pharaohs drank their cups.
She wanted to yell at them "Don't drink it!" which she didn't quite understand, because she's supposed to hate them damn it. But after all that has happened, she felt like she needed to know who in the name of Ra did it.
So she asked a Palace guard to guide her to the kitchen a day or two after the wedding day.
When they got to the kitchen, Tèa asked one of the servants in the kitchen if there was anything suspicious that had happened while they were preparing the drinks for the Pharaohs. A woman, who was sorting the fruits, answered with "If you call call a bad smell a suspicious act madam, then I think that it would be the case."
Tèa thank the woman for that, and ask if it was okay to have a two plates of fruits for her and the guard beside her.
The woman gave her a weird look, saying that she already asked the same question and the same request of food. This annoyed Tèa that she snapped, saying that she haven't come out of her chamber after the wedding day. The woman just shrugged while giving out the plate of fruits to the two, swearing that she did ask the same question that she asked the same thing yesterday.
Tèa glared at her before going back to her chamber. While she was eating alone in her balcony, she pondered who the woman back at the kitchen was talking about. Then she shrug the thought, thinking it was her twin sister Anzu. They aren't called twins for nothing, after all.
But about that bad smell...She couldn't help but feel like she knew what the woman was talking about. She felt...no, she knew, as if she had smelled it before, even though she herself didn't even went to the kitchen that very day.
It made her feel sick, like she didn't know why this happened...Like she didn't quite know her life even though she lived it.
What was happening to her?
Was she really a monster from the very beginning?
If so, then why the heck was she so concerned about the Pharaoh, and moreover, Prince Yami?
She was supposed to hate them damn it. She was supposed to be the one making them suffer. But why, she sobbed, why is she crying for them?
Then she felt it. The very same presence that she's oh so aware from the tip of her mind that she's afraid of it's presence alone. She paled, stopped crying abruptly, as if the presence behind her was commanding her to.
The presence was dark, so dark that she felt the need to faint. then dark mist was starting to surround her.. NO, she thought in horror as her mind felt like it was screaming at her to get away from the mist. But her body couldn't move. It was as if she was being told to admit defeat, that she did those things to the Pharaohs.
She let out a bloody scream before everything went black.
