TBR: Ch 33-
As soon as the council member said the decision, the Court Room doors flew open.
A certain someone clopped down the halls quickly. "Your Honors," The person boldly said. "I have proof Artemis Fowl saved Holly Short."
"Foaly?!" Holly and Trouble said at the same time, jumping up from the bench they were sitting on.
The centaur smirked and looked over at Artemis, who mouthed, "Better late than never."
Foaly laughed, shaking his head and rolling his eyes. He then cleared his throat and turned to the Councilmen. "Years ago, late Commander, Julius Root, assigned me to wire Fowl Manor with video cameras. After Root died, the cameras were left on his computer. However, they were still active."
The Council murmured in disagreement. Then the speaker in the middle stood up. "Did the rules not say, that after the Fowl Siege, we were not allowed to keep such cameras on the Fowl estate?"
Internally Artemis rolled his eyes. Sure, now they care.
Foaly nodded, "Yes. But this was after our second encounter with Fowl and a precaution in the rules for humans to be monitored after multiple encounters."
"Well, what does this have to do with the current events?" The speaker requested.
Foaly looked over at Holly and Artemis nervously. "They were long forgotten when Root died. This is relevant because one camera, PFBDGAF2 to be exact, was a camera in an upper level guest bedroom. This is the recording of Captain Shorts revival from her comatose."
Foaly went up to a computer, pressing a few buttons before a screen on the right of the council table came to life. A few more and a video started playing.
It was a corner-view of a medium sized room. Holly was the only occupant in it until Artemis came in a second later. He knelt beside her and took her hand. A few minutes later he spun around to look at something on the other side of the bed and whirled around again to face Holly. He knelt down, performing CPR before she sat up.
The council gasped when Holly exited her comatose state on the screen. As did Holly, who never knew what had happened to her. Foaly turned back to the council. "Well?"
The council turned to each other, muttering quickly and quietly before the speaker stood up again a few moments later. "That seems to have changed everything. The council declares Artemis Fowl-"
But then the other council members gasped, looking at the screen. Foaly looked up and paled.
On screen, it showed Artemis and Holly mid-kiss. Foaly had forgotten to shut off the video.
Holly's face turned red as she slid down sheepishly in her seat. Troubles mouth was open as anger flared in his eyes, and Artemis...Well, he was as cool, calm, and collected as if nothing was happening. Although, he did smirk a bit when Trouble looked his way.
The council turned around to discuss for what felt like the millionth time. Foaly went over to Holly, eyes wide.
"What the hell is that!" He whispered, pointing to the screen shakily.
Holly shrugged, "You saw it when we were battling Opal."
The centaur shook his head, then looked at Trouble who had just come out of his shocked state.
"I swear Centaur, if you screw this trial up, I will fire your ass." He muttered, glaring at Foaly.
Foaly didn't even seem phased. He just looked at himself, then at Holly. "Last time I checked I was half horse, not half donkey, right Holly?" He said, smirking.
Holly chuckled, shaking her head. She couldn't think of anything to say.
"The thing is, Commander." Foaly said, taking a few steps up to Trouble, causing he elf to back up. "We've been over this. You can't fire me."
Trouble narrowed his eyes, "Is that a challenge, centaur?"
Foaly closed his eyes, shaking his head as he scoffed lightly. Then he looked up, seriousness reflecting in his eyes, "No sir, Commander. It's a fact."
You could tell Trouble was going to go off on the smug centaur, but the speaker on the council bench stood up once again. Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned around to hear what he had to say.
"After the...current situation." The speaker said, briefly pausing to glance at Artemis and Holly. "We've decided that the best option, so another 'rescue attempt' doesn't take place, is that we station Captain Short on an above ground base, giving her freedom and option to live on the Fowl Estate. Therefore, Artemis Fowl is dropped of all charges and execution."
As soon as she heard that, Holly's smile grew. She looked over at Artemis, who was looking over at her with love in his eyes.
As soon as the guards let him go, Artemis went over to the other side of the Court, scooping Holly up and wrapping her in a warm embrace.
Foaly leaned over, looking at Trouble. He was about to say something smart, but the commander stomped out of the room in an angry huff.
Holly and Artemis took a shuttle back to topside. They barely talked the entire, way just glancing at each other and then staring out the window when they made eye contact. But as soon as the door of the manor closed, she looked at him and smiled. "It's good to see you back, Arty."
He smiled back warmly, "You too, Holls." Then the genius looked around. "I wonder where everyone is..."
Holly looked back outside. He was right, no one was around. No noise came from any part if the house. Artemis shrugged, "I guess they went out for a bit."
Holly shot a confused look at the mud boy, "You don't want to find out definitely?"
The human looked down and took Holly's hand. "No." He said simply before leading her up the stairs. "Not right now, at least."
"What? But I thought-" Holly started, but Artemis sighed.
"Holly, is the in the morning. We barely slept on the rise here, so why don't we get some sleep?" He stated.
Holly's eyebrows raised as she looked at Artemis in disbelief. "You just expect me to instantly fall asleep after everything that has happened? I'm not even tired."
"Me neither." Artemis
"So...What do we do to pass the time?" Holly asked.
Artemis smirked, "I have a few ideas."
"Really? Like what? I suppose we could have a game of che-" Holly started, but was interrupted.
That interruption was Artemis opening the door quickly, spinning Holly around and picking her up, pushing her against the wall gently as he began kissing her.
At first, Holly has no idea what was going on. When she regained her senses, she sighed before kissing him back, running a hand through his hair as she pulled him closer.
He groaned spinning around and lying her on the bed behind them, never breaking the kiss. She moaned as she felt his weight press onto her, and put her hand to his neck, pulling him even closer to her than before.
Artemis held his hand at her waist, not daring to move them anywhere other than her hips. But when she moaned, it was like a trigger in his brain, awakening the young man. One of his hands wrapped around her waist, while the other went up to cup her face in his hands, moving his fingers slightly on the elf's ear.
Holly gasped in the kiss, arching towards Artemis when she felt his fingers touch her ear. But suddenly, they both needed to breath, so they broke away.
"You scared me back there, Arty." Holly whispered in his ear as he gently sent kisses up her neck.
Artemis hummed, leaning up to look at Holly's face. "I'm sorry I locked you and Butler in the other room. I was just trying to protect you."
Holly smiled, leading up to pull him into another kiss. When she broke away, she looked into his eyes and said, "I love you, Artemis."
Artemis grinned down at her. I love you too, Holly."
Holly smiled and sighed contentedly, sitting up to where both of them were sitting on the edge of the bed. Artemis wrapped Holly in a warm embrace and she sighed again, putting her head on his chest. Her eyes closed briefly and suddenly, the elf was exhausted.
Artemis found himself to be tired as well. He glanced at the elf in his arms before noticing that she was tired to, and laying down. Holly curled up next to him, burrowing in his side to get warm. They both fell into a blissful sleep soon.
Only later, was Holly jolted to a start by a crash from downstairs.
Grand Finale coming soon!
