Chapter Fifty Six
Dawn made it through the appeal round, but will she be able to win the Aqua Ribbon from the Wallace Cup?
Cinnabar Island (12:38 p.m.)
Lilian Merdian: Now we are on our second round of the battling rounds; to my left we got Dawn facing against Hesh from Lilycove City. So let the battle begin!
Dawn: Sawsbuck and Bravairy, spotlight!
Hesh: Go Aggron and Hitmonlee!
Dawn: Sawsbucks use Energy Ball at Aggron and Bravairy use Aerial Ace!
Hesh: Aggron use Iron Defense and Hitmonlee use Endure!
Aggron increases its defense while Hitmonlee endure Bravairy's Aerial Ace.
Hesh: Good work and now Aggron use Earthquake and Hitmonlee use Protect!
Both Braviary and Hitmonlee were unaffected by Aggron's Earthquake attack but Sawsbuck took a lot of damage.
Dawn: Sawsbuck use Double Kick at Aggron and Bravairy use Sky Attack!
Braviary flew up high into the air to store its energy for the Sky Attack.
Sawsbuck landed two critical hits on Aggron and it's unable to battle.
Hesh: Aggron return!
Hesh recalled his Aggron back to its Ultra Ball.
Hesh: Hitmonlee use Hi Jump Kick at Sawsbuck!
Hitmonlee knock out Sawsbuck with its powerful Hi Jump Kick attack.
Dawn: Oh no! Return Sawsbuck; it's all up to you Bravairy now use Sky Attack!
Braviary flies at full speed towards Hitmonlee and its knock out from battle.
Hesh: WHAT?
Lilian Meridian: Hitmonlee is out and Dawn is now on a two win streak in the Wallace Cup.
Hesh: Return Hitmonlee; you deserve a good rest.
Ash: Alright Dawn won!
Pikachu: Pika Pi!
Dawn: Just four more battles.
Dawn walks back to her dressing and watch Zoey winning her third match and same goes for both May and Kenny.
MC: Dawn, please report to the stage for your third battle.
Dawn: Okay I better get going.
Dawn enters the stage again and she is ready for her third battle.
Dawn is now battling against a coordinator named Lana from Olivine City.
Lilian Merdian: You two may start!
Dawn: Sylveon and Pachirisu, spotlight!
Lana: Go Staryu and Dragonair!
Dawn: Sylveon use Moonblast at Dragonair and Pachirisu use Discharge on Staryu!
Lana: Dragonair dodge it with Agility and Staryu use Protect!
Both of Lana's Pokémon evaded the attacks from Dawn's Pokémon.
Lana: Staryu use Swift and Dragonair use Slam on Pachirisu!
Staryu's Swift hit both of Dawn's Pokémon and Pachirisu is hit by the attack and it doesn't notice that Dragonair is using Slam at it.
Dawn: Pachirisu use Double Team to avoid Slam and use Discharge again at Staryu and Sylveon use Dazzling Gleam on Dragonair!
Pachirisu successfully avoided Dragonair's attack and it knocks out Staryu while Sylveon hits Dragonair really hard with the Dazzling Gleam.
Dawn: Great work you two.
Lana: Return Staryu! Dragonair use Earthquake!
Dawn: Pachirisu try to avoid the ground and Sylveon use Moonblast one more time!
Pachirisu tries to avoid Earthquake but it got knock out while Sylveon manages to knock out Lana's Dragonair.
Lilian Meridian: Double knock out everyone! Lana is out of usable Pokémon which makes Dawn the winner of this battle.
Dawn: Return you two and great job.
Lilian Meridian: Since Round Three is over Round Four will begin with Dawn against Kenny and they are both from Twinleaf Town of the Sinnoh region.
Kenny: Well Dawn, I didn't except us battling in the Wallace Cup but give it your best shot today because I am not losing, Go Empoleon and Machamp!
Dawn: Well good luck to you to Kenny because I am not backing down easily, Mamoswine and Quilava spotlight!
Lilian Meridian: Battle begin!
Dawn: Mamoswine use Take Down at Empoleon and Quilava use Eruption on Machamp!
Both Pokémon are hit by Dawn's Pokémon.
Kenny: That's all you got? Empoleon use Hydro Pump at Quilava and Machamp use Cross Chop at Mamoswine!
Dawn: I won't go down that easy. Mamoswine hang in there and Quilava hurry and use Dig to avoid Hydro Pump!
Quilava avoided Empoleon's Hydro Pump and Mamoswine is struggling to block Machamp's Cross Chop.
Dawn: Now Mamoswine toss Machamp to the air with your tusk.
Mamoswine threw Machamp into the air.
Kenny's mind: What is she planning?
Dawn: Now Quilava use Flame Wheel at Machamp before he hits the ground!
Quilava: Quiiiilava!
Quilava curled up into a ball and it used its Flame Wheel attack on Machamp, sending it hitting the ground hard.
Dawn: Great work you two!
Kenny: That was your plan huh, but it won't work on me again. Empoleon use Metal Claw on Mamoswine and Machamp use Vital Throw at Quilava!
Machamp pick up Quilava and thew it towards the ground while Dawn order Mamoswine to use Take Down to deflect Metal Claw and it work perfectly.
Dawn: Mamoswine use Ice Beam at Machamp!
Mamoswine used its Ice Beam attack and Machamp froze into a block of ice which means it unable to battle!
Kenny: Return! Empoleon this is your chance, so use Metal Claw again at Mamoswine!
Mamoswine took the hit hard and falls onto the ground.
Dawn: Mamoswine return!
Both Coordinators now only have one Pokémon each.
Kenny: Empoleon use Aqua Jet!
Dawn: Dodge with Dig!
Quilava digged underground to avoid Aqua Jet and luckily it made it into the hole.
Dawn: Now use Flame Wheel through the tunnels and now let's heat this place up.
Kenny: What is she doing?
Ash: Hey Brock.
Brock: What is it?
Ash: This looks familiar to me.
Brock: What do you…oh I see what she's doing.
Ash: She's trying to do that one thing I did back at the Sinnoh League.
Brock: Smart move there.
Back to the battle.
The battlefield begins to get hot and some parts of the ground is turn into hot mud and Empoleon is getting sunk in.
Kenny: Empoleon!
Dawn: Now use Flame Wheel again and full power!
Quilava emerges from the hot sinking hole and delivers a final blow to Empoleon, instantly knocking it out.
Lilian Meridian: Dawn is the winner and she'll be heading into the semi-finals.
Kenny: Return Empoleon! Great battle strategy Dawn, never knew you were this smart in battles.
Dawn: Hey what does that supposed to mean?
Kenny: I'm only kidding but you did very well out and great thinking about melting the ground.
Dawn: Thanks but I got the idea from Ash from one of his Sinnoh League matches back at Sinnoh.
Kenny: I see well good luck in the semi-finals.
Dawn: Thanks.
Kenny: Well I'll be cheering on with Ash and Brock.
Dawn: Right.
After the conversation ended, the semi-finals is now starting with Dawn battling against May.
May: Ready to give it your best Dawn?
Dawn: Yeah and good luck.
May: Thanks!
Lilian Meridian: Battle start!
Dawn: Sylveon and Quilava!
May: Go Venasaur and Glaceon!
Dawn: Sylveon use Hidden Power on Glaceon and Quilava use Flamewheel at Venasaur!
Venusaur took the Flame Wheel attack but May haves something in her sleeves. Sylveon's Hidden Power didn't do too much to Glaceon since it's an Ice type.
May: Glaceon use Ice Shard at Sylveon and Venasaur use Sludge Bomb on Quilava!
Both of Dawn's Pokémon are hit but that doesn't hurt Dawn's self-confidence to much.
Dawn: Sylveon use Dig and Quilava use Dig too!
Both Pokémon dug underground making both of May's Pokémon unaware of their surroundings.
May: Venasaur its time.
May activated her Mega Ring and tossed the Venasaurite Stone to Venasaur. Venasaur begins to mega evolve into Mega Venasaur.
Dawn: It mega evolved!
Dawn's mind: No need to worry Dawn, just stay focus.
Dawn: Quilava use Flame Wheel at Venasaur and Sylveon use Psychic at Venasaur too!
Venasuar took both hits but it hardly felt a thing.
May: Venasaur use Sludge Bomb at Sylveon!
Sylveon has been hit by the super effective move and she has been poisoned.
Dawn: Sylveon you can do, use Psychic one more time at Venasaur!
The move fail as Sylveon can't hardly focus in battle.
Dawn: Quilava use Eruption on Venasaur!
May: Venasaur use Bulldoze at Quilava!
Both Pokémon attack each other which ended in a double knock out again.
Dawn: Return Quilava!
May: You too Venasaur!
Venasaur change back to its original form before being called back into its Pokéball.
Both coordinators are now down to one Pokémon.
Dawn: Sylveon use Psychic at Glaceon!
Sylveon delivered the powerful attack and cause major damage to Glaceon!
May: Glaceon use Frost Breathe!
Sylveon is feeling the cold pain but that doesn't make her quit that easily!
Dawn: I know you can do it Sylveon, please use Moonblast!
May: Quick and use Giga Impact!
Sylveon came to its senses and dodge the powerful Normal attack and Sylveon successfully landed the attack.
Lilian Meridian: Glaceon is unable to battle which means that Dawn will be heading to the finals!
The audiences cheered for Dawn's victory.
May: Return Glaceon! Dawn you did great out there and I hope we battle again soon in the next contest.
Dawn: Thanks and I hope so too.
Sylveon faints from the poison status and Dawn came to her side and took her to an emergency room to have a full treatment.
Ash: Hey Dawn congratulations on winning the semi-finals, now you need once more to go and you'll be battling against Zoey you know.
Dawn: I know.
Ash: How is Sylveon?
Dawn: She'll be fine, no need to worry. All she need is plenty of rest and some healthy food.
Ash: That's great to know; well I better go back to Brock and Kenny to watch the final battle. So good luck Dawn.
Dawn: Thanks Ash, that means a lot to me.
Dawn enters the stage again for her final battle.
Lilian Meridian: This is it everyone; the final battle of this annual Wallace Cup is now taking place. May I present Dawn fron Twinleaf Town against Zoey from Snowpoint City. This battle will be a one on one battle this time so make your choice carefully.
Zoey: Ready Dawn?
Dawn: Yeah and let's make this a battle to remember.
Zoey: Right!
Lilian Meridian: Battle start!
Dawn: Go Piplup!
Zoey: Glameow go!
Dawn: Use Drill Peck!
Glameow is hit by Piplup's Peck.
Zoey: Use Shadow Claw!
Dawn: Piplup dodge it and use Whirlpool!
Piplup didn't dodge it in time but he's still able to use Whirlpool which didn't made that much damage to Glameow.
Zoey: Use Shockwave!
Dawn: Dodge quickly and use Ice Beam!
Glameow is hit by the Ice Beam attack.
Zoey: Glameow use Thunderbolt!
Dawn: Piplup use Ice Beam as a shield!
Piplup surround it shelf in a block of ice to deflect Thunderbolt.
Dawn: Great, now use Headbutt.
Piplup landed a critical hit at Glameow.
Zoey: Glameow get up and use Fake Out!
Glameow used Fake Out on Piplup, causing it to flinch and not move for another turn.
Zoey: Hurry and use Thunderbolt!
Piplup gets shock by Glameow's Thunderbolt attack.
Dawn: Piplup please get up; I know you can do it because I believe in you.
Piplup: Pip Piip Piplup!
Piplup is struggling to stand up and it did stand, willing to keep battling.
Dawn: Great Piplup use Drill Peck!
Piplup's small wing is glowing red.
Dawn: Is that Brick Break, Piplup?
Piplup: Pip!
Piplup nodded back at its trainer in agreement.
Dawn: Great, use Brick Break!
Piplup used Brick Break, causing Glameow to faint from the super effective move.
Lilian Meridian: Glameow is unable to battle and our annual Wallace Cup winner is Dawn!
Zoey: Return Glameow, that was a great battle Dawn and let's battle again at the Grand Festival.
Dawn: Thanks and I'm looking forward for the Grand Festival.
Wallace: Congratulation Dawn, for your victory today here at the Wallace Cup. I present you the Aqua Ribbon.
Dawn: Thank you so much Wallace, look Piplup the Aqua Ribbon.
Piplup: PIIIIPLUP!
Dawn: Alright we got the Aqua Ribbon!
After the ceremony ended; Dawn meets up with everyone outside the contest hall.
Ash: Hey congratulations on winning the Wallace Cup again.
Dawn: Thanks Ash, where's everyone at?
Brock: May left towards the ferry for Sinnoh, Kenny is going to Saffron City and Zoey is leaving for Lavender Town.
Dawn: Oh okay well where are we heading next?
Ash: We'll we could go to Veridian City fir the contest there but first we should stay at Pallet Town first.
Brock: Well let's get going then, there's a ferry leaving for Pallet Town in thirty minutes. I say we get our stuff and head towards the ferry.
Dawn: Sounds great.
The three trainers are now going back to Pallet Town to rest before heading to Veridian City for Dawn's last Pokémon Contest.
