Chapter Fifty Seven
As we left our heroes, they have arrived at the hill top of Pallet Town.
Pallet Town (3:38 p.m.)
Ash: Hey were home again Pikachu.
Pikachu: Pika Pi!
Dawn: Let's head to your house and greet you mom.
Ash: Yeah let's go!
The trainers walk down the hill and are now at front of the Ketchum residences.
Ash: Were here buddy.
Pikachu: Pika!
Ash knocks on the door and his mother opens the door.
Delia: Well your all here early, how was the Grand Festival Dawn?
Dawn: The Grand Festival is taking place in two weeks, we all came from Cinnabar Island just to settle down a bit before heading to Viridian City for my last ribbon.
Delia: I see, well welcome back everyone and you're all here just in time since I'll be starting cooking.
Ash: Yeah I can't wait to eat your delicious cooking.
Brock: I'll be happy to help out Mrs. Ketchum.
Delia: It's okay Brock, I'll have every under control but thank you for your offer.
Brock: You're welcome.
Delia: In the meanwhile, how about all three of you go see Professor Oak.
The three trainers agreed and went to Professor Oak's laboratory.
Professor Oak's laboratory (3:58 p.m.)
Professor Oak welcomes the trainers and let them in.
Professor Oak: So how is your journey through Kanto going?
Dawn: Very well and I have earn four ribbons and all I need is one more to go.
Professor Oak: That's great Dawn.
Ash: I also manage to mega evolve my Charizard and Heracross too.
Professor Oak: Very interesting, oh that reminds me Ash. I got word from your old friend, Serena. She said that she is looking forward on seeing you and Gary arriving at Kalos. She also wants to have a reunion between you and Gary at Lumiose City. I also did inform Gary about this topic.
Ash: I see.
Dawn: Who is Serena, Ash?
Ash: You see she is an old friend of mine that me and Gary knew way back before I started my journey. We were going to travel together with Gary but ever since she moved to Kalos, that changes everything and both me and Gary became rivals since she always tries her best to stop fights between me and Gary.
Dawn: I see and now that you and Gary are now friends, she won't have to worry about you try to hurt each other.
Ash: You could say that.
Professor Oak: Your mother says that she have something special for you and Pikachu, Ash.
Ash: What could that be?
Professor Oak: You know what today is right?
Ash: Ahh! It's the day that I first started my first Pokémon journey since I was ten.
Professor Oak: Exactly.
Brock: You and Pikachu have been through a lot, Ash. I remember the first time I met you at the Pewter Gym, and you forfeit the match because you care so much for Pikachu's safety. That's when I learn so much about the bond of Pokémon from you.
Ash: Really?
Brock: Yeah and that's why I wanted to travel with you to learn more about bonding with Pokémon while I wanted to be a breeder.
Professor Oak: Ahh yes I forget that I want to give this Pokéball to Serena once you three have arrived at Kalos. It's the Pokémon that she was going to pick for her journey here.
Ash: I'll keep it safe and what Pokémon is it?
Professor Oak: Well before she left for Kalos, you decided to pick Charmander, as for Gary of course I have Squirtle reserved for him. So you can guess what is the last Pokémon left.
Ash: Oh I know now. Well it's kind of a good thing that all three were taken.
Pikachu: Pii!
Ash: Hey where is Alexa by the way?
Professor Oak: She is interviewing Tracey with your Bulbasaur at the coral. Follow me and I'll show you three.
The three trainers followed Professor Oak back to his coral.
Tracey: You see, Bulbasuar's seed is full of nutrients that sometimes it attracts Bug type Pokémon like…
Heracross randomly flies in and starts to eat the sap from Bulbasaur's seed.
Bulbasaur: Bulba!
Bulbasaur used its Vine Whip to get Heracross off of its back.
Alexa: I think that's enough for today and thanks for the lecture about Bulbasaur.
Tracey: You're welcome.
Professor Oak: Alexa, looks who's here.
Ash: Hey it's been awhile.
Alexa: It sure has and how is your contest going, Dawn?
Dawn: Great.
Brock: AWWWWH MY HEART, ALEXA! OUUCCHHH!
Croagunk came out of its Pokéball to prevent Brock from hitting on Alexa and he drags Brock away.
Dawn: Uhh okay….
Ash: Anyways, when are you leaving for Kalos?
Alexa: I'll be leaving in three weeks in a plane.
Ash: Great, perfect timing. Me and Brock actually want to come with you to Kalos.
Alexa: What about Dawn?
Dawn: I decided to go back to Twinleaf Town to see my mom. Since I haven't seen her almost two years and I'll be meeting up with both Ash and Brock there.
Alexa: I see, well the plane will be landing at Lumiose City which is the center and capitol city of Kalos.
Dawn: Thanks for the heads up.
Alexa: No problem.
Professor Oak: Ash, you mother wanted me to tell you that we should all head over to your house.
Ash: Okay.
Everyone left for the Ketchum residences and Delia cooked delicious meals for everyone.
Ash: Wow all that food looks delicious.
Pikachu: Pika Pika!
Delia: It's just for a celebration for you and Pikachu because it has been seven years since you started you journey with Pikachu.
Ash: Wow thank you so much Mom.
Delia: You're very welcome dear and now everyone can dig in.
After everyone is finished with their dinner, Ash and Pikachu go outside for some fresh air.
Ash: You know buddy, once we arrive to Kalos. I'm going to train a lot to win the Kalos League and I'll be using only the Pokémon that I will catch in the Kalos region.
Pikachu: Piii Pika Pi!
Brock: Hey Ash, want any seconds?
Ash: Nah I'll pass but thanks.
Brock: Thinking about the Kalos region?
Ash: Yeah, once we arrive to Kalos. I'm going to challenge Alexa's sister who is a gym leader.
Brock: I see, well we better head back inside, getting late.
Ash: Right, let's go Pikachu!
Pikachu: Pikachu!
Pikachu hop onto Ash's shoulder as he enters the house.
Professor Oak: There you are Ash, Alexa wanted to show you the map of Kalos.
Alexa: Here's the map and as you may see it's a huge region which is divided by three different areas, Coastal Kalos, Central Kalos and Mountain Kalos.
Brock: Kalos is very big.
Ash: Yeah it is and how many gyms are there?
Alexa: Well I believe eighteen gyms but you only need eight badges to win like in any other region that you had travel through before.
Ash: That's great and first gym I'll be challenging is your sister, Alexa.
Alexa: That's a great place to get started with your gyms battle but me warn that my sister is very strong.
Dawn: What type does your sister use in battle?
Alexa: Bug type Pokémon.
Ash: Well looks like I should try to catch myself a fire or flying type in Kalos before challenging her.
Professor Oak: Well it's getting late; me and Tracey will be heading back to the lab.
Ash: Okay and goodbye.
Tracey: Goodnight everyone!
Everyone said goodnight to the two as they left for the lab.
Delia: Well I guess we should all head to sleep.
The three trainers went to sleep in Ash's room while Alexa is sleeping in the guest room for a while.
Ash: Well Pikachu, tomorrow we'll be heading to Viridian City for Dawn's Pokémon Contest. You ready to cheer her on? (Said while whispering)
Pikachu: Pika! (Nodded his head in agreement)
The next morning
Morning (11:38 a.m.)
The three trainers are at Professor Oak's laboratory so that Dawn can switch out her Pokémon for the Viridian City Pokémon Contest and the Grand Festival.
Professor Oak: So who will you be switching out, Dawn?
Dawn: Hmmm…. I think I'll switch my Sawsbuck and Bravairy for Mamoswine and Butterfree.
Professor Oak: Alright then, here are their Pokéballs and I'll be placing these two under your name right here.
Ash: What Pokémon are in these Pokéballs?
Professor Oak: Ahh yes, Professor Sycamore sent these three to me and their the Kalos region starters for me to research on.
Ash: If I remember correctly the starters are Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie; right?
Professor Oak: Right and I might give these Pokémon to new trainers that are starting out here in a few weeks.
Ash: Man I hope I'll be able to catch these Pokémon in the Kalos region.
Brock: Hey we better get going to Viridian City, or else we'll be late for the contest.
Dawn: Yeah let's go.
Ash: Alright then and we'll be back Professor.
Professor Oak: Alright and try not to lose Serena's Pokéball or else she'll be disappointed.
Ash: Hey I didn't lose the GS Ball, so I pretty much won't lose but no need to worry since I'll be keeping it in my backpack.
Brock: I think I should hold on to it till we leave for Kalos.
Ash: Okay.
Professor Oak: Good luck to all of you and best of luck in your contest, Dawn.
Dawn: Thanks Professor.
The three trainers left Professor Oak's lab and onward to Route One. The road of new beginnings and adventure. What more exciting things will happen as the journey continues.
