Chapter Fifty Eight
As we both left our heroes, they are now at Viridian City.
Viridian City (2:29 p.m.)
Dawn haves finished registering for the Viridian Pokémon Contest and her first performance will be taking in a few minutes. In the meanwhile; Ash and friends head outside to feed their Pokémon.
Brock: Alright lunch is served everybody, enjoy!
Ash: So Dawn, ready to win your last ribbon?
Dawn: You bet and I won't let anything stop me.
Brock: Hey you're up in twenty minutes. You might want to get readt.
Dawn: You're right, well you'll be seeing in stage once I get ready in the dressing room.
Ash: Okay and good luck.
Dawn: Thanks.
Dawn heads to her dressing room and changes into her contest dress.
Dawn: Does my hair look okay, Piplup?
Piplup: PIIPLUUUP!
Dawn: Alright, well ready to for the first round?
Piplup: Pip Pip! (Nodded in agreement)
Dawn: Okay then, return!
Dawn recalled Piplup back into its Pokéball and she leaves the room to the stage.
Lilian Meridian: Now we are about to begin the Viridian City Pokémon Contest with our annual Wallace Cup winner, Dawn!
Dawn: Okay Piplup, spotlight!
Piplup: PIPLUUUUP!
Piplup made a spectacular entrance from the Ball Capsule with burst seals attach onto the ball.
Dawn: Use Bubblebeam and spin!
Piplup: PIIIIPLUPPLUPPLUP!
The bubbles are circling around Piplup as he is spin while shooting out bubbles.
Dawn: Great now use Whirlpool!
Piplup: PLUUUUUPP!
Piplup's Whirlpool causes the bubbles to ride around the Whirlpool.
Dawn: Now finish it with the bubbles on top of the whirlpool!
Piplup: Pip!
The bubbles begin to stream on top of the whirlpool and the after the bubble begin to stop moving; both the bubbles and the whirlpool look like a bouquet of flowers.
Lilian Meridian: Amazing, what an spectacular performance by Dawn and let's see what our judges have to say.
Mr. Contesta: A beautiful performance and you and your Piplup are perfectly are in sync!
Mr. Sukizo: Outstanding and remarkable!
Nurse Joy: A very beautiful display of the bond between you and your Pokémon.
Dawn: Looks like we'll be advancing to the battling rounds, Piplup.
Piplup: Piplup!
After all of the coordinators finished, the appeal round is over and now heading to the battling rounds.
Dawn has made into the top eight of the appeal round and will be battling the other coordinators.
Dawn is now going to compete in the second battle against a trainer from the Kalos region.
Lilian Meridian: Now let the battle between Dawn, from the Sinnoh region. Battling against Franck from the Kalos region. Now you two may begin!
Dawn: Mamoswine, spotlight!
Mamoswine: MAAAMO!
Franck: Goodra, aller!
Dawn: I never seen that Pokémon before.
Dawn grabs her Pokédex and scan Goodra.
Pokédex: Googra, the Dragon Pokémon. This very friendly Dragon-type Pokémon will hug its beloved Trainer, leaving that Trainer covered in sticky slime.
Dawn: A dragon type, so I better stick with Ice type moves. Okay Mamoswine use Ice Shard!
Goodra is hit hard by Ice Shard, Franck quickly orders Goodra to use Focus Blast at Mamoswine.
Dawn: Quick use your tusks to block it!
Mamoswine tried to block the Focus Blast attack but it was unable to and it got hurt.
Dawn: Mamoswine are you okay?
Mamoswine: Mamo!
Dawn: Great now use Blizzard!
Goodra is hit by Blizzard and it is frozen solid in a block of ice.
Dawn: Now use Take Down!
Franck: Great, un timing parfait. Goodra use Flamethrower!
Googra used Flamethrower while being frozen in the block of ice and it freed itself and continuing used Flamethrower.
Mamoswine is seriously burn from the Flamethrower attack.
Franck: Now finition it with another Focus Blast!
Mamoswine suddenly learn to use Ice Beam and it pierced through the Focus Blast attack and knock out Goodra.
Franck: Goodra!
Lilian Meridian: …and Dawn is the winner and she'll be going to the semi-finals.
Franck: Retour Goodra, you battle with your very best.
Franck left the stage and after several battles passed; Dawn is next for her second battle in the semi-finals with a coordinator from Vermillion City.
Lilian Meridian: You two may start!
Dawn: Go Butterfree!
Heather: Go Nidorina!
Dawn: Use Gust, Butterfree!
Butterfree: Breeehh!
Butterfree's Gust damage Nidorina by a little.
Heahter: Nidorina use Poison Sting!
The Poison Sting is super effective that it left Butterfree poisoned.
Dawn: Use Confusion!
The Confusion attack hurt Nidorina and is now confused.
Heather: Nidorina stay focus and use Double Edge attack!
Nidorina is confused and she use Double Edge at a wall which cause some heavy damage.
Dawn: Now let's win this with another Gust attack!
Nidorina get knock out by Gust and is unable to battle.
Lilian Meridian: Dawn is the winner and she is now heading to the final which will be starting right now.
Dawn: Thank you very much Butterfree and use is a berry to cure the poison.
Butterfree ate the berry and it fully neutralizes the poison and it was recall back into its Pokéball.
Dawn: Okay Sylveon, it's your turn to be on the spotlight. So come on out!
Sylveon: Vaaahh!
The coordinator from New Bark Town enters the stage.
Brad: Go Umbreon!
Dawn: Umbreon huh, well Sylveon are you ready?
Sylveon nodded back to its trainer.
Dawn: Great use Quick Attack!
Brad: You too Umbreon!
Ash: Oh boy this battle looks intense.
Brock: I agreed and I hope that Dawn doesn't get to excited since Sylveon is a little stronger than Umbreon.
Ash: You're right.
Both Sylveon and Umbreon avoided each other attack!
Dawn: Use Moonblast!
Brad: Dodge and use Faint Attack!
Sylveon gets hit by Umbreon's Faint Attack!
Dawn: Sylveon use Dazzling Gleam!
Sylveon's ribbons begin to glow and Umbreon gets hit by the super effective move.
Brad: Umbreon get up and use Leer!
Sylveon's defense has been decreased.
Brad: Now use Take Down!
Sylveon is hit hard by Umbreon's Take Down attack and she is starting to get tired.
Dawn: Come on Sylveon, I know you can do it. We have been through so much together.
The strong bond between Dawn and Sylveon made her to continue to fight.
Dawn: That's the way to go, now use Swift!
Brad: Umbreon dodge it!
Umbreon is unable to dodge it because the move never missis the target.
Dawn: Now use Moon Blast!
Slyveon's is storing up energy which is forming into a pink orb on the air and she unleashes a full flash of the Fairy type move and knocks out Umbreon.
Lilian Meridian: Umbreon is unable to battle which means that Dawn's Sylveon is our today's winner of the Viridian City Pokémon Contest!
The audiences are cheering for Dawn's victory, as well her Sylveon of course.
Ash: Yeah she won!
Pikachu: Pika Pi!
Brad: Return Umbreon, that was a good match Dawn. Let us battle again till next time.
Dawn: Thanks, well Sylveon we did it. All we have to do is win the Grand Festival.
Sylveon: Vaaah!
Mr. Contesta: I would like to present the Viridian City ribbon to Dawn.
Dawn accepts the ribbon and she is very proud to earn her final ribbon.
After the ceremony ended, Dawn place her fifth ribbon into her ribbon case and closes it.
Brock: Congratulations on winning your final ribbon.
Ash: You were amazing in battling Dawn. I must say that you should try competing in gym battle.
Dawn: Thanks Ash and I think I'll pass on the gym part.
Ash: I understand.
Brock: So off we go to the Indigo Plateau?
Ash: Yeah let's go.
Dawn: Soon Piplup, I'll be winning the Grand Festival. Just wait and you'll see.
Piplup: Pip Piplup!
Meanwhile at Team Rocket Headquarters
Jesse, James and Meowth are being brief by Giovanni.
Giovanni: Good, you three are here and great job at Unova. Now I have another task for you three.
Team Rocket trio: Sir!
Giovanni: You three will be heading to this region, the Kalos region.
James: Looks very big!
Meowth: Yhea and tha city in the middle looks huge!
Giovanni: I need you three to go there and start operating there. Contact me and I will brief you with all the details that you need to know.
Team Rocket trio: Sir!
Jesse: We won't fail you.
Giovanni: Good and you might want to leave your Pokémon that you two have caught in Unova since they are unexperienced. I have a Pokémon for me to return to you Jesse.
Wobbuffet: WOOOBBUFFEEETT!
Meowth: Wobbuffet!
Jesse: Thank you sir and we won't fail you. Return Wobbuffet!
The trio walks out of Giovanni's office.
James: So what is this Kalos region located at Jesse?
Jesse: We'll be meeting someone at the airport for ticket to the Kalos region and be setting up there once we have arrived.
Meowth: Do you think tha twoip be there too?
Jesse: If the twerp is there too. Then we'll be doing our usual routine. Beside he did travel with that journalist from Kalos.
James: So there's a high possibility he'll be there.
Meowth: I say we pay him a visit at Pallet Town.
James: Great thinking Meowth!
Team Rocket trio: Heheehehehe!
Wobbuffet: WOOOBUFFFEETT!
Indigo Plateau (8:47 p.m.)
Ash: Wow we're already here.
Brock: Yeah that took a little faster than the first time we came through here.
Dawn: I say we should go to a Pokémon Center and rent a room to stay in for a few days.
Brock: Sounds like a great idea and I can't wait to AWWWWHHHh!
Croagunk used Poison Jab on Brock's lower back.
Brock: Why…did you hit? I wasn't talking about N..nurse Joy. I was going to say I couldn't wait to sleep since it's been awhile I have slept on a bed.
Croagunk still drags Brock away and laughs.
Both Ash, Pikachu, Dawn and Piplup begin to laugh out loud due to Croagunk's misunderstanding.
Will Dawn be able to win the Grand Festival? Stay tuned as the story continues.
Now that Dawn haves all five ribbons, she is now ready for the Grand Festival. But will she win? We all have to wait and see in Chapter 59. Chapter 60 is the preparation for the gang to leave Kanto and 61 is the Ash first steps in the Kalos region. Stay tuned for the next post on Tuesday night.
