The Luxer's (Shine's family)

The reporters surround the big house of the Luxer family and Julius Flickerman prepares to interview them. The door swings open, opened by a little boy of about eleven years old (Shine's brother) and they are let in by a surprisingly beautiful and clean house. The two middle aged parents of Shine sit on the couch, dressed in wonderful clothes and large smiles. They are clearly ready to be interviewed and their faces scream of pride towards their daughter because after all, she is doing very well in the arena.

Julius sits down on the couch opposite them. "These are the Luxer's Shine's parents and they are very, very proud of their daughter am I right?" He asks them.

Shine's father chuckles slightly and answers. "We are both very, very proud of our daughter and we are confident she will bring pride to district one." He says, Julius smiles, pretty happy at the parent's support of their career child.

"What do you think of her current situation? Separated from the careers, surely that should worry you a bit now that she's flying solo." Julius says in a curious voice, this time it is Shine's mother that answers. "Our daughter does not need those sub-par careers to help her. She's been preparing for this all her life, she could handle that Percy boy who thinks he's so big. And don't get me started on Gloss, she can take them all down." Shine's mother answers.

"So you're very confident she will be returning home, isn't there at least a little bit doubt?"

Shine's mother shakes her dead. "Not a pang a doubt, a girl as strong as our Shine won't lose to a bunch of petty tributes like that. Isn't that right Terry?" She answers. The camera then turns to the eleven year old boy. He nods his head. "My sister's gonna win for sure!" He says. And that's all they have time for, the camera crew pack up and leave the Luxer household.

The Miller's (Gloss's family)

The reporters are let inside the Miller household, it's a lot like the Luxer household except much bigger, this is clearly a very well off family. However instead of interviewing the parents they interview Gloss's sister who has now had two siblings in the games. "So Emerald, how does it feel to see your brother make it so far in the games?" Julius asks. Emerald simply grins, flips her hair back and answers. "I am so proud of my little brother, I always told him he could do it, him and my sister trained day in day out, and I always knew he could make it far." She answers with a smile, her voice not even faltering at the mention of her dead twin.

"So you believe he has a chance of winning?" Julius asks.

"Of course my brother has a chance of winning, I'm sure he can succeed where my twin couldn't, he's a Miller and Miller's are strong." She answers with a stern and more confident answer.

"Oh, so you don't care about all the criticism Gloss receives about not being as ruthless as a career should?" Julius asks.

Emerald's confident facial expression falters for a second or two but then she quickly regains her posture. "Those guys are idiots. If they messed with my brother they'd probably be beaten up as well. He does have two kills you know." She answers.

"Yes he does, as he made the most recent kill, it's been good talking to you Emerald." He says and he takes her hand and kisses it lightly, in the polite way. The camera crew then pack up and leave.

The Shae's (Kim's family)

It takes a little longer to be let into the Shae household. It's nothing like the career districts houses, it's not big or small, more medium sized which is to be expected in District three. Obviously the house has been cleaned up quite a bit, the house is duller than the other houses and you can feel the depression in the house. Mr and Mrs Shae sit on a very small and dull couch together while Julius sits on the bigger one.

"So Mr and Mrs Shae, how does it feel to see your daughter progress so far into the games?" Julius asks.

The answers aren't as synchronized, confident or well thought out as the other ones. "W-we-we are just praying that our little girl comes home unharmed." Mrs Shae answers. Everyone can tell what kind of family this is, they spent all their time staring at the television, they cried at every tear she shed, cried at all her battle wounds.

"Are you confident she can win? Considering the kind of tribute's she's going up against." Julius asks

"We certainly hope she can win, she deserves to." Mrs Shae answers again.

"If Kim can't win who do want to win?" Julius asks. The two of them almost look ready to break down at this point, just break down into tears completely at the mention their daughter could die.

This time Mr Shae answers. "I-I-I- would prefer David t-to win."

"Because he's her ally?"

They both nod. "He didn't hurt my daughter and took her in when he needed her. A boy who would do so much for our daughter deserves to win if Kim can't." Mrs Shae answers.

Julius smiles and nods. "It's been good interviewing you Mr and Mrs Shae, good luck!" He says and the reporters leave.

Mrs Thames (Percy's mother)

Mr Thames is away mentoring in the Capitol and Percy is an only child so Mrs Thames is interviewed, she lovingly invites the camera crew into the house, the victor's house. The house is the biggest the camera crew have been in, it's very clean as well, she obviously spent all day cleaning and getting herself ready, looking absolutely stunning.

She pulls out a seat for Julius and she gives him some tea, he sips a bit and asks. "So Mrs Thames, are you proud of your son?"

Mrs Thames only greets this question with a smile and answers. "Absolutely, I can see so much of my husband in him, he's definitely like his father." She answers.

"So you believe he can win for sure?" Julius asks.

"What a silly question to ask Julius, of course he can. He's brave like his father, strong like his father and ruthless like his father." She answers with a large grin and Julius sips more tea.

"If you could say something to Percy right now what would you say?" He asks

"Percy, keep trying because me and your father are proud of you. When you come home you'll be greeted with lots of love and glory, I love you honey." She answers.

"What do you think is your sons biggest advantage in the games?" He asks her.

Mrs Thames just chuckles and answers. "His skill and ruthlessness, just like my husband he's willing to and has the skills to get everything done in there."

"Well that's certainly true, thank you for your time Mrs Thames and thank you for the tea." The camera crew are almost sad to leave as they pack up and leave.
