Chapter 25: Surprises, Part 2

"Jessica, can you take out the garbage, dear?" Helena called from the kitchen of the café.

Mandy wanted to roll her eyes, but Dutch was standing right there and she didn't want him or Helena to think she was anything less than thrilled to be here.

"Sure thing, Helena!" She shouted back as she pick up the two bags and hauled them to the bin.

She had done nothing but grunt work since she started here and she was beginning to tire of the role she had made for herself, but she knew she had to keep a lid on her temper. Mandy wasn't about to blow her only chance to get inside that house.

Mandy decided she was taking a break. She had been here since six in the morning and it was going on afternoon now, so she made her way toward the front of the building and started walking down Weston Lane, deep in thought.

She was going over her plan of what to do once she got inside the Campbell house, not paying attention to her surroundings, when a car sounded it's horn, effectively bringing her back to reality.

"Fuck!" She whispered to herself, because she didn't recognise where she was. "How fucking far did I go?" She glanced at her cheap pay as you go mobile, the seventh one she'd had since she'd been on the run, and noticed the time. "Fuck! Helena is going to be bent about this!" She told herself out loud, not caring if she looked mental or not.

Mandy quickly turned back around and started heading in the direction she came from, walking quicker than the first time around, trying to dial Helena's number as she went.

"'Ello Jessica, dear. Did you get lost?" Helena's voice came through the speaker and Mandy breathed a sigh of relief, noticing that the woman didn't sound angry.

"Yeah." She replied with as much sincerity as she could muster, looking around for a street sign or something that would tell her where she was. "I'm so sorry, Helena, I was looking for a park or something and just lost track of time and...and now I don't know where I am."

"It's alright, dear," Helena told her, "can you tell me where you are now?"

Mandy looked around again, finding herself in front of a converted Victorian manor. She saw a the door. "I'm in front of The Bath Priory." She said, and started to pass the gate, when a voice stopped her in her tracks.

"Mum, I wanna stop at Tesco. Emily wants to go on a picnic and I want to get some stuff."

Mandy ducked behind a hedge as Naomi's voice carried across the car park and she saw the blonde bitch and her mother walking out of the restaurant toward their car. Her heart was beating a million kilometres an hour as she tucked herself into the shrubbery, hoping to hell that neither one of them saw her.

She watched as the black car pulled out and headed down the road, the same direction she had just come from and had been heading back to. "That was fucking close." She said to herself.

"Jessica? Are you still there?" Helena's voice called out, reminding Mandy that she was still on the phone with the woman. "Are you alright? Jessica?"

"Sorry, Helena. Almost got run over by a car. I'm fine though." Mandy assured her.

"You stay right there dear, I'm sending Dutch down to get you."

"Thanks. I'll wait right here." Mandy promised her and hung up, waiting a bit longer to step out of the hedge, wanting to be sure that the Campbell's wouldn't see her if they happened to double back.

She waited for Dutch and watched as two more ladies left the Priory, walking toward their car.

"I think that went rather well, don't you Aunt Millie?" The younger of the two stated, unlocking the driver side door.

"It went better than I ever expected, love. Now, I think you and I need to figure out what's going on between those two young ladies, and what those pulses mean." The older one replied, and the younger woman agreed. Mandy didn't hear anymore as they shut their doors and pulled out of the car park, passing by her as they went.

She waited on shaking legs for Dutch to show up and she realised how close she was to being caught. The fear of seeing Naomi in town was throwing her off. What if Emily had been with her? What if she had been seen? Mandy clearly remembered the threats from Naomi right after what happened to Emily. She knew that the blonde was capable of carrying out those threats and she didn't want to screw up this chance she had.

Mandy vowed to stay inside at all times, no matter if it was at the motel or at the café. She did not want a repeat of today. Although, it was a shame, because she was severely tempted to follow Naomi and see where they were having their picnic, even if the thought of seeing the two of them together made her stomach turn. Luckily, she was saved from that thought, as Dutch pulled up next to her.

"Heard you needed a ride?" He asked with a smile. Mandy forced a laugh and climbed into the van, and they turned around and headed back to the café, Dutch teasing her good-naturedly the whole way.

Millie had called the coven together as soon as they pulled out of the Priory car park, so that when her and Alicia returned home, everyone was already there.

"How did it go with Gina?" Tara asked, as she took her seat next to Alice.

The whole coven had been on pins and needles upon learning that Aunt Millie would give the Campbells an out on their contract. They relied on that grant too much to have it pulled away from them.

Millie and Alicia took a seat, and the older woman sighed loudly. "It went rather well, I think...or well, as far as Gina and Naomi keeping the contract intact, that is."

"What do you mean by that?" Alice asked, hearing an odd tone in her aunt's voice.

Alicia looked at Sophia. "Did you know about the pulses, Soph?"

Sophia looked confused. "What?"

"Did you know that Naomi felt pulses whenever she was around Emily? Good Goddess, child! Keep up!" Aunt Millie was frustrated, and it showed.

Sophia flinched at the harshness of Aunt Millie's tone. "Oh, those. Yes, I knew about them. Naomi had asked about them after she met Emily and the night Emily was attacked by some guys-,"

"She was attacked?" Tara asked.

"Twice." Sophia confirmed. "Once by a girl she had gone out with and another time, she had taken off in the middle of the night, walking randomly. Naomi was able to find her in time by those pulses."

Millie narrowed her gaze at her great-niece. "And you told her what those pulses meant, right?"

There was an edge to Aunt Millie's voice, one that put Sophia on edge. "I don't know what those pulses mean!"

"You stupid girl!" Alice shouted at her. "How is it that you're allowed to practice the craft when you don't even know the effects and consequences?"

Alice's question caused an uproar amongst the cousins and aunts. Sophia and Alicia trying to defend Sophia, and the rest of them asking more questions.

"SILENCE!" Aunt Millie's voice became authoritative and effectively shut everyone up. She waited until she had everyone's attention, then she turned to Sophia. "You are very lucky that I didn't know this the other day when I handed you your punishment, Sophia. Those pulses mean everything!"

Sophia's face scrunch in confusion. "I don't understand, Aunt Millie."

"That's clear to see, my girl." Aunt Millie stated dryly, arching an eyebrow at her. "Millicent didn't tell you what to expect?" Sophia shook her head, and Millie sighed again. "Of course she didn't."

"Aunt Millie, we need to hurry up and get to the point." Alicia said, urging the older woman on.

"Yes, dear, you're right." She replied, then turn to look at everyone. "We need all the information we can find on Emily Fitch."

One of Sophia's cousins, who looked as confused as the rest of them, spoke up. "Why? Who is Emily Fitch?"

"Apparently, she's a Child of Gemini!" Aunt Millie told them, as murmurs flew around the room. "We need her family history and we need it now!"

Dinner was a casual affair at the Campbell residence that evening. Gina and Thelma had made the preparations whilst the girls were all out, and Naomi was seriously impressed. Now they were waiting for the rest of the Fitches to arrive for dinner, giving Naomi enough time to think back on her time spent with Emily that afternoon.

When Naomi got back from town earlier, she found an unusually subdued Emily waiting for her. As she neared the house, the pulses almost became unbearable until she found Emily, curled up on her bed.

Emily had forced a smile, Naomi could see it, but then Emily pushed herself up before Naomi could lay down with her, grabbed her hand and pulled her from the room, insisting that they had somewhere to be.

They drove for some distance, almost back into Bristol, until Emily told Naomi to pull off onto a one lane dirt road. She almost regretted not having the two big bodyguards with them, but Emily promised that they'd be safe as houses when they got to where they were going.

"This is where I would come when I needed to get away for a bit." Emily told her as they stood by a little pond, surrounded by trees.

"It's gorgeous, Ems."

Emily took her hand and pulled her along side the pond. "You haven't seen the best bit yet." She grinned at Naomi and led her to a moss covered clearing, at the far end of the pond, totally closed in by the trees.

"I love it!" Naomi exclaimed as Emily pulled her down to sit with her. "This must be your go to date spot hmm, Ems?" Naomi smirked at the redhead, but saw those brown eyes change.

"I've never brought anyone here before...," The blush spread across her face as she shyly ducked her head, "you're the only one." She explained quietly.

"Oh...," Naomi felt like an idiot, because she knew something was wrong, but she couldn't figure out what it was. "I'm sorry, Ems...whatever I did-,"

Emily cut off her sudden ramble with a kiss, but then quickly pulled away. "You didn't do anything wrong, okay Naoms?"

"Then tell me why you're sad. Please?" Naomi begged her. "Tell me what happened today?"

Emily shook her head. "Nothing happened, I promise."

"But the pulses?"

"Lets just enjoy the rest of the day, yeah?" Now it was Emily's turn to beg, as she started digging through the rucksack she had brought with her. "Can we just sit here for a bit?"

As much as Naomi wanted to push for answers, she knew that wait patiently for Emily to come to her when she was ready. "Yeah...we can, for a bit."

The rest of the afternoon was spent talking about nothing in particular and everything in general and enjoying the food that they brought, until Naomi noticed the time and realised they had an hour until dinner.

Now, Naomi was sitting in her room, thinking about what a great day it had been, despite Emily's slight mood change and the pulses.

'A very good day, indeed.' She thought to herself with a smile.

Emily was also in her room thinking about the day. And whilst any time spent with Naomi was a great time, her life altering epiphany was making things a bit difficult at the moment. She had to stop counting the number of times she almost blurted out her feelings for Naomi, and also the number of times the pulses would speed up almost painfully whenever she looked at the blonde.

She felt drained after spending the afternoon with Naomi and that had never happened. Emily knew that Naomi was worried about her and wanted to talk about the pulses, because she wasn't stupid, she knew the moment they had kicked in whilst Naomi wasn't around meant something.

But what? What did they even mean in the first place?

Emily was so deep in thought as she sat in her room, that she didn't hear the door open or the gentle call of her name. She actually jumped and screamed when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

Katie started laughing, while Effy smirked.

"For fucks sake, Katie!" She shouted at her sister who was doubled over. "Knock much?"

Katie couldn't answer, she was laughing too hard, and Emily glared at her. Effy was starting to fear for Katie's life under that glare, so she stepped in to break the tension.

"We did knock and we even called your name, Ems...," Effy said as she elbowed Katie in the ribs, trying to get her to stop laughing, "obviously you didn't hear us. Katie, would you please stop?"

"I'm sorry...but that scream?" Katie said, sending her into another fit of laughter. "I've just...n-never...heard Emsy scream like that before."

"I'm gonna make you scream like that in a fucking minute!" Emily stated as she started toward Katie, but Effy stepped in the way.

"Emily, calm down, yeah? Do you want Naomi rushing in here?" Effy asked her, silently addressing the pulses that she and Naomi shared. "You know she can feel your emotions."

"Thank you ever so much for pointing out the fucking obvious!" Emily snapped at Effy, but the shocked look on Effy's face deflated her anger. "I'm sorry, Effs. I didn't mean that." She said, on the verge of tears.

"So I take it you didn't tell her, did you?" Katie asked as she finally stopped laughing.

Emily sat back down and put her head in her hands. "I wanted to, fuck did I want to." She said as she ran her fingers through her hair and then wiped her eyes. "But how can I tell her?"

"It's easy, you twat! You just open your mouth and let the words come out." Katie explained as if she was talking to an incredibly slow person.

"I'm not sure that that's what she meant, Katie." Effy replied, rolling her eyes. "I think what she means is...," she left the sentence hanging, hoping that Emily would finish it.

"What I mean is, she's happy. Right now, knowing that September is a couple months away and...she told me that she was all set for this thing to end, ya know? How she wanted to leave her mark on the world and make things right...how she never wanted more time until she met me." Emily told them, a sadness in her eyes that broke Katie's heart to see. "If I tell her now, she'll regret not having more time, you see? That will always be there, in the back of her mind, that she won't be here after September and even if we have the greatest love story in two and a half months time, she'll carry that regret and guilt with her, tarnishing whatever relationship we'll have!"

"So you'd rather have her think...what? That you desire her? That you just wanna fuck her and that's all?" Effy asked quietly, kind of seeing what she was thinking, but wanting to make for sure. "Emily, you can't play with her heart like that. Naomi loves you and she's never, ever had that before. Don't you see? She's given it to you, free and clear. You didn't have to chase her, you didn't have to watch her longingly from a far, pathetically waiting for a chance to possibly, maybe, get her to look at you! She's seen you from the start, Emily! And she's let you in, where no one has ever been."

Emily hung her head, because she knew she wasn't wording herself right. "I love her, Effy. And I know you might not understand this, but I'm not trying to play with her heart, because I would never do that. I want to spend the rest of my life with her, but I won't be able to! We can't break the curse, I can't break the curse." Emily started crying again as Katie and Effy finally sat down next to her, Katie wrapping her arms around her sister.

"It's alright, Emsy." Katie tried to sooth her.

"But it's not, is it?" Emily asked through her tears. "I don't want her to regret me. I don't want her to think that I wasn't good enough. So, please? Please understand?"

Emily was pleading with Effy to realise what she was feeling and deep down, Effy knew the truth. "I understand, Emsy." She said quietly as she too wrapped her arms around the younger twin and let her cry. "But you need to dry those eyes, because Campbell's gonna worry and your parents and brother have arrived for dinner, so...,"

"Fuck! I look horrible!" Emily exclaimed as she jumped up and looked at herself in the mirror.

"Effy, babes," Katie caught the brunette's attention and smiled, "why don't you make sure Naomi doesn't come by and I'll help Emsy get ready again, yeah?"

Effy smiled at her and started to leave the room until Katie reached out and grabbed her hand, pulling the taller girl in for a kiss, leaving Effy with a goofy smile on her face.

"I-I am...just...g-gonna," Effy stuttered, feeling her face heat up under the two pairs of warm brown eyes, "yeah...Naomi...,"

Katie chuckled as Effy stumbled out of the room still muttering to herself before turning back to Emily to survey the damage.

"She's cute. Blushing does it for her." Emily stated in wonder, making Katie laugh again.

"Yeah." She sighed dreamily. "Alright, Ems...let's fix you up. It shouldn't take too long, babes."

Emily smiled at Katie and sat down to let her work her magic, choosing to spend the time thinking about everything that had happened that day and wondered if she would be able to keep her secret from Naomi.

Naomi waited until dinner was over, just before Thelma was due to bring out the cake that she had made specially for the twins. She was sitting next to Emily and had been somewhat fidgety all night, so much so, that Emily finally leant over and asked if she was alright.

She waited a beat as she stared into Emily's eyes and smiled. "I love you." She stated it so simply, just like every other time she had said it, but Naomi saw Emily's smile slipped just a bit before she quickly bounced back.

The younger twin placed her lips on Naomi's, not caring that they were surrounded by family, because she had to do it. She had to try to convey how she felt without actually saying the words, because those words scared the absolute shit out of her.

Naomi pulled away with a goofy smile on her face. "What was that for, babes?"

"Because you look really pretty tonight." Emily shot back, smirking at her. "I couldn't help myself."

"Hmm, interesting." Naomi said slyly, smirking back before standing up and addressing everyone around the table. "Can I get everyone's attention?" She spoke up above the noise that both families created, mainly Cook and Jamie as they tried to tease Katie and Effy. "James!" She snapped out and both of them turned to look at her sheepishly.

"Sorry, Blondie." Cook had the decency to look ashamed, as he apologised to the girls.

"Right then, I'm going to attempt something I've never done before," Naomi said with a grin, "and that's make a speech, so forgive me for the cheesiness of it." Chuckles came from around the table as Gina and Jenna smiled at her fondly.

"As you all know, we're here to celebrate Katie and Emily's birthday. I know it's early, but I thought we'd have this small family get together, and don't worry girls," Naomi smiled over at Katie and Emily, "we've all got something very special planned for your birthday."

"What is it?" Katie asked, sounding like a child almost in her excitement.

Naomi and Effy laughed. "Don't worry, Katiekins. It's a surprise." Effy told her.

"I don't like surprises!" Katie replied, teasing Effy.

"Trust me, Katie," Cook smirked at her but then it turned into a full grin, "you'll love this one."

"Cook, quit teasing my sister. You'll get her all wound up," Emily admonished, good-naturedly, "and you know how she is when she's all wound up."

Effy, Cook and Jamie started laughing at that, as Katie glared at Emily.

"Fuck off, Emily!" Katie spat out, crossing her arms in front of herself, and pouting.

Naomi wondered if she'd ever get control of the conversation again, when Jenna spoke up.

"Girls!" Jenna's voice commanded attention from all the Fitch kids. "I believe Naomi was in the middle of something?"

"Sorry, Naomi." Emily said, followed by Katie.

Naomi reached out and ran the back of her fingers along Emily's cheek. "S'alright, Ems." She replied. "I just wanted to say thank you, to you and Katie both. As I'm sure everyone is well aware of my curse by now," she looked over at the Fitches with a small smile, "and I know it's hard to believe, but you've seemed to take it all in stride, so for that I thank you."

Rob and Jenna smiled in acknowledgement.

"Emily, Katie? Since the curse started we've been living in a fog. Well, I've been living in a fog, really and everyone else has been along for the ride. I didn't mind the dark, you see, because there was no reason for the light. Having you both here has brought us out of the dark. It's like you've been able to breathe life back into the house and back into us, as a family. Katie, you've become a friend over the past few months. Your honesty, the way you don't take anyone's bullshit and your fierce loyalty makes me happy to have met you."

Effy started clapping and was soon followed by everyone else, as Katie teared up a bit.

"Emily? What can I say to you? How can I thank you for what you've given to me? You have opened up my eyes, in a way I'd never thought possible." Naomi paused for a moment, so that she could get her emotions under control. "You've given me my father back, you've given my mum back her daughter-,"

"I'll drink to that!" Gina stated loudly, tears streaming down her face, as she raised her glass in a cheer.

"Funny, Mum!" Naomi replied, waiting yet again for the laughter to die down. "Anyway, as I was saying… Emily, you've taught me to love, because I do love you. And even if you never love me back, I'm okay with that, because I don't regret a single moment spent with you."

Effy and Katie shared a quick look, before they both glanced at Emily, noticing the mixture of fear and love in her eyes, that was totally overlooked by Naomi. But Emily didn't say anything, as she swallowed thickly and dried her eyes, whilst Naomi continued with her speech.

"So I know I've said that we've arranged a surprise for your birthday, but I wanted to give you both something. Something that means a lot to me, and while I know that I can never truly repay you both for what you've given to me, I hope it helps you to remember me when I'm gone."

Just then, Thelma and Charley entered the room. Thelma was pushing a trolley that held the cake she made and Charley had two manila envelopes in his hands, which he gave to Naomi.

"Thank you, Charley." She smiled at him and he nodded before turning to help his aunt. Naomi then handed one envelope to Katie and the other one to Emily. "Happy Birthday, to both of you." Naomi sat down next to Emily and waited for them to open the envelopes.

"What is this, Naoms?" Emily asked, sliding her finger under the flap to find documents inside the envelope. She glanced up at Katie, who could only shrug before they both looked at Naomi.

"Well, you usually have to unwrap a present to see what it is, Ems." Naomi said with a smirk. "So, see what it is."

"Holy fuck!" Katie, so eloquently exclaimed, as she pulled out the papers and started reading them. "Is this for real?"

"As soon as you sign on the dotted line it is." Naomi stated, as she watched Emily pull out her papers and start to read them.

"Oh my god, Naoms, you can't do this." Emily breathed out as she realised what she held in her hands. "This is too much."

"It's already done, Ems. You just have to sign the paperwork." Naomi told her, with a smile.

Jenna gasped and Rob muttered a "holy hell", when Katie rushed over to show them what Naomi had given to her and Emily.

"We can't accept this, Naomi." Emily said as she slipped the papers back into the envelope with shaking hands. "Gina, you can't let her do this. This is a part of your legacy, it belongs to family."

Gina smiled over at the younger twin, as everyone looked at her and the smile started to slip from Naomi's face. "It's hers, Emily, she can do what she wishes."

Emily turned back to Naomi, and noticed the frown on the blonde's face. "Naomi, please don't do this? I can't let you do this." She said sliding the envelope back to her. "You can't just give us a software company."

Naomi felt as if the air had been sucked out of the room, as she saw fear in Emily's eyes.. "You d-don't…I thought you'd...," she paused, as tears threatened to spill. She didn't want to ruin what had been a good night, so she pushed away from the table and excused herself, leaving a stunned Emily and a quiet room in her wake.

"Well done, Emily!" Katie was the first to break the silence. "She was trying to do something special for you and you throw it in her face?" Katie asked in disgust, because for the first time in their lives, she was disgusted by Emily's behaviour.

"Shut up, Katie!" Emily spat out as she too push away room the table and followed Naomi.

Gina, Jenna and their husbands looked around the table at all of the remaining kids and it was Kieran who filled the silence.

"Well, that was fecking eventful!" He stated in his gruff Irish accent. "Maybe someone can tell us what that was all about?"

Effy waited a beat, before shaking her head, sadness filling her. "It's not our place to tell you what that was about."

"Whatever it is, it can't be bad, can it?" Jenna asked, feeling a sadness for both Naomi and Emily.

"It's between Emily and Naomi, Mum." Katie said, as she sat back down next to Effy.

"Thelma, how about we pass out some cake. There's not much we can do until they come back, is there?" Gina said, and then watched as Thelma started setting plates in front of everyone, hoping that whatever was going on between them would be resolved quickly.

"Naomi, wait!"

"Go back, Emily." Naomi told her, not bothering to turn around.

"No! Stop right there!" Emily's voice was commanding, yet oddly gentle and it was effective, as Naomi stopped in the hallway. "Why would you give your company to me and Katie?"

"I'm not doing it to buy your affections, Ems, if that's what you think."

Emily had to stop herself from laughing at Naomi's statement. "I'm not saying you are, but it's a big thing to just hand over to someone you met six months ago, babes. It's almost too big." She replied with a frown.

Naomi finally turned around to look at the younger twin. "But it's really not, Ems! Don't you see? When I'm gone, the board will probably dissolve that branch of the business and my legacy will be gone! You love it and Katie enjoys it when she's there as well. I just wanted to make for sure that it will continue on. Katie hates the gyms, you know that, and you'd be able to do what you enjoy!"

"But, your company, Naoms...what if, by some small chance, what if you break the curse? Then what?" Emily pleaded with her, trying to get a spark of hope from her, and she could've cried when she saw nothing but resignation.

"It won't happen, Ems. Mum and I spoke with Sophia's mum and aunt today."

The sound of defeat was so palpable that Emily felt as if she could reach out and touch it, but she resisted the urge to wrap her arms around the blonde and hold on. "What?"

"Yeah, they were very lovely and upset about everything. It's seems as if Sophia used them to get to me." Naomi started explaining, but the tone of her voice made it clear that nothing came from the meeting. "Sophia's in big trouble, apparently."

"Fuck Sophia!" Emily spat out, rolling her eyes, making Naomi giggle a bit. "What did they say about the curse?"

"Well, unless Sophia or one of her cousins or aunts or even her mum fall in love with me, or anyone in their family really, there's no way to break the curse."

Emily shook her head in confusion. "What the fuck does that even mean?"

Naomi sighed loudly, crossing her arms in from of herself. "They are the Children of Gemini, Ems. The whole lot of 'em! Starting with Sophia's grandmother, great-aunts and uncles...all the way down to Sophia and her cousins. According to Sophia's Aunt Millie, it's what her father called them, because they were all born under the Gemini sign. The curse is intact and it stands, Emily. September is around the corner, practically and it will end the only way it can. So please? Please accept my gift?"

Emily felt her heart break as she stood before a pleading Naomi. 'There really is only one way for this to end.' She thought to herself, as she went over everything that had happened that day.

"I wanted tonight to be special, ya know? But I can see that I failed...I'm sorry, Emily." Naomi said as the redhead's silence stretched out, believing that Emily was upset about the gift. She turned around and started walking toward her rooms, but she stopped to look back at Emily again. "I meant what I said, Ems. I do love you and I don't regret a single moment I've spent with you."

Emily watched as Naomi turned around again and she knew that this was a chance for her. She was feeling so much at this moment, all the love was starting to bubble up and she steeped toward a retreating Naomi, calling out to her again.

"I do love...," Emily hesitated, as she caught herself getting ready to tell Naomi how she felt, but she couldn't do that to Naomi. She regretted so much already, that Emily didn't want this to be one more thing on that list and she also knew that she had one shot to make Naomi smile right now. "I do love the business, you're right about that. I never thought I would, but...,"

Naomi slowly turned around again, and searched Emily's face. She couldn't stop the smile that was starting to form as she took a few small steps back toward Emily. "So does this mean...you'll accept it?"

Emily smiled back at her, then pretended to think about her answer, before she shrugged nonchalantly. "Yes. I'll sign the papers."

Naomi shouted out a hallelujah, throwing a fist in the air and ran the rest of the way back to Emily and scooped her up, twirling them both around, like a total cliché. Emily laughed as she held on to Naomi's shoulders, before leaning down to kiss her.

It was sweet and passionate, slow and steady. Starting out as lips upon lips, until Naomi's tongue teased Emily's lips, begging for entrance and receiving it. The pulses shifted each time their tongues collided yet neither one of them cared.

Oxygen became an issue, as they finally pulled away from each other, with Naomi touching her forehead to Emily's, both of them panting slightly.

"I'm sorry for acting the way did." Emily said quietly, her voice huskier with emotion.

"No need to apologise, Ems." Naomi told her.

"How about we go back down and take care of business and then we'll mingle for a bit with the family before going to your room to...take care of business?" Emily said as she wiggled her eyebrows in a fair impersonation of Cook.

Naomi laughed, then kissed the tip of her nose. "Sounds like a good idea to me."

Emily slipped her arm around Naomis waist and they made their way back into the dining room, where Emily and Katie both signed the papers that would make them the co-owners of Naomi's software and development company.

They spent another couple hours with everyone else, noticing Jamie and Cook playing pranks on the parents, Emily watched as Katie led Effy out of the room for a while, probably to get in some quick snogging, then she watched as Jenna watched them come back into the room all flushed looking, a knowing look on her face.

After the drama Emily had caused earlier, it was actually lovely to spend a relaxing time with each other, until the clock chimed at the stoke of midnight and Emily grabbed Naomi's hand, leading her up the stairs and into the blonde's rooms where she slowly made love to her, telling Naomi with actions everything she couldn't say with words, until the sun started to turn the dark sky pink.

And as Naomi slept, properly worn out, Emily laid next to her holding on, as if she was afraid Naomi would disappear if she loosened her hold, and cried for the future that she was losing.

Alicia and Tara were still awake when six in the morning rolled around.

One of Alice's daughters was able to bring up every bit of information on Emily and Katie Fitch that they could find and the whole group started picking through the pieces, bit by bit. Going as far back into their family history as they could go.

Almost everyone else dropped off at one point or another throughout the night, until it was only the two of them left. Alicia was about to call it herself, when Tara muttered out a "bloody hell".

"What's up, Tara? Did you find something?." Alicia asked her, concern on her face.

Tara scanned through the page again, making sure she read it correctly. "Do you remember grandfather and grandmother telling us about Uncle Melvin?"

Alicia gave it some serious thought, but couldn't remember the exact details. "Vaguely, why?"

Tara scrolled through the page siting Emily's family tree until she came to what she needed. She then turned the laptop around to show her sister what she had found. "Jenna Fitch is the daughter of Hannah Harrison, who was the daughter of Melvin and Maureen Reid."

"Okay, and?" Alicia didn't understand where Tara was going with this line of thought. "So what? Melvin was a very common Scottish name as well as an Irish one, Ta."

Tara once brought up another page that her daughter had found. When Aunt Millie said she wanted every bit of information, that's what they got. "Here!"

Alicia read what was on the screen and then she read it over again. "You'd better call Aunt Millie. She'll want to see this."

Tara and Alicia left the room with the laptop sitting open.

According to the Central Office of the High Court, located in Dublin, Ireland, Melvin Reid used to be known as Melvin O'Dowd.
