Chapter twenty-two

I opened my eyes slowly and groaned as the light slowly seeped in .

" She's awake . " Adrian voice was the first voice that I heard . I turned my head to see he was sitting next to my bed looking absolutely exhausted . " You look like shit . " I croaked smiling at him .

" You dont look all that hot yourself . " He couldnt help but smile . '' What happened ? '' All of my memories came running back to me being in the caves and then getting knocked out . the last thing I remember seeing was Christian .

'' You were knocked against the caves walls and got a concussion you have been knocked out for about ten hours . He grabbed my hand and took it in his . '' Is every body okay , how many casualties were there ?'' I tried to sit up but was too light headed .

'' None , there were injuries but no deaths , you did a amazing job with the parings .'' Head mistress kivora walked into the room along with Lisa .

'' You guys didn't have to come all the way out here .'' I looked at Adrian and Lisa .

'' Yeah , I did I hear there is a attack at the academy and when I go back to our place you are already gone .'' Adrian glared down at me but when I left their was no time to go find him .

'' And I had to come make my presence known and visit my best friend and all the guardians and students who were injured .'' Lisa smiled .

'' Where are , Sabrina and Jared ? '' I asked . '' In the waiting room .'' Adrian got up and walked out , a moment later he reappeared with Sabrina and Jared . Sabrina had a broken leg and had crutches and Jared just looked like shit .

'' you guys mind ? '' I asked I wanted to be alone with Sabrina and Jared .

'' I think you both have a future as royal guards .'' I smiled at them . '' Really ? '' Sabrina almost fell over . '' Yeah , you made it out of the caves and I know you both helped save lives. '' I told them .

'' How are you doing ? '' Sabrina asked sitting down on my bed . '' I got one hell of a headache but that comes with a concussion .'' I laughed . '' How about you guys ? '' I asked concerned . I had really taken them under my wing and I did care for them because I saw myself in them .

'' Sore .'' He rubbed his bruised cheek .

'' Can I have a minute with Rose .'' Adrian stood at the doorway . '' Yeah. '' They made their way out . '' I know this is not the romantic way to do this but you had more than just a concussion when you were brought back from the caves , You were in a coma when I got here .'' He sat down on the bed and continued . '' And it really got me thinking that life goes by fast and I just want to do this now .'' Adrian got down off the bed onto his knees and pulled box out of his pocket . he flipped it open revealing a gorgeous ring .

'' Rosemaire Hathaway , will you marry me ?''
