It's been ages since me, Tim and Jay went to Alex's old house and things haven't been better exactly. Jay's just been… Very odd, to put it lightly. It's kinda hard to have an actual conversation with him and he won't listen when Tim and I try to tell him to see a doctor or get medicine.
We're still staying in motels. We've got a roof over our heads and have been eating pretty cheaply so We're sort of fine in that department. Mentally and physically though, I feel we're all a bit destroyed. Jay seems the worse out of all of us really. And to be honest, I've noticed something a bit odd about myself. Or, odd given the circumstances. I myself haven't seen those images of Michael in ages. Well, maybe a quick glance a faint whisper, but they just seem to go away less and less. Maybe it's the medication I'm letting Tim give mef.
Can I forgive myself for Jessica's disappearance? I'm not sure. I suppose I wasn't there when it happened. I had gone to wait in the car and left Jay in the hotel...
... Jay had taken his time preparing himself to tell Jessica everything though.
What's wrong with me? Am I honestly considering Jay had done something, or that I'm actually considering blaming him instead? I must get more sleep.
But right now, I had to get Jay because our room and wait for Tim to come back with some food.
"Jay, what are you even doing going out?" I grumbled as I tugged Jay back inside.
"Just... Wanted to check outside. In case Tim was coming, or someone was outside waiting for us." That was his only response. To be honest, I thinking me and Jay have been drifting apart lately. It's not so much that we don't talk, but we just don't seem as close as we had been in the beginning.
"I'm sure Tim will be back soon." I sighed as I sat him down. "There's no point over thinking it all."
"But-"
"No." I interrupted. "No thinking. You should try sleeping."
"Easier said then done." He mumbled.
"Well, can you tell me why you insisted on Tim taking the camera with him?" I asked him.
"In case something comes up."
"And we can post it on YouTube." I commented dryly to myself. Quietly enough for Jay not to hear. But we didn't really say anything else after that. We were quiet after that. We didn't say a word.
I think we've been growing apart lately. When I think of how we interacted with each other in the beginning and now... I'm not sure how this happened exactly. Maybe it started when Tim finally agreed he'd help us? Or could it have been after that more recent incident in the Rosswood Park? I'm pretty sure it was one of those incidents when it went downhill for us both. But, who knows? Maybe when all this is over we 'll be back to being normal friends.
... God, being an optimist sucks.
But I didn't think anymore as Tim came in with some food. Looking as tired as the both of us to say the least.
It was later on the week that we planned to drive to Tim's house, seeing how in a video (likely uploaded by our internet and sometimes real-life stalker) recently uploaded by none of us showed that Alex was hiding in Tim's attic. Only me and Tim have watched the video. Jay was asleep when we found it so we couldn't just wake him up. But Tim didn't mention the tape. The tape that the hooded man showed in the footage briefly. I decided not to say anything until I had the opportunity without Jay overhearing. I don't know how he would react.
But with Jay in the doctor's place making an appointment, I think I had the chance.
"I still think you should go in too." Tim mumbled as he checked the rear-view mirror. I just shrugged as I sat in the back as we waited for Jay.
"I know you care, but I'm fine. Really. Your medicine helps me anyway. Hell, I can't remember the last time I hallucinated for longer then a minute." Tim gave a small grunt in response. It was quiet for a minute or two before I asked, "So why didn't you mention the tape?"
"Huh?"
"The tape? The one in the video the hooded bastard uploaded unto our account." I rephrased.
"It's... It's, complicated. Okay." Tim wasn't looking back at me.
"... You know what's on it. Don't you." I could Tim close his eyes in the mirror. He swallowed before he answered back.
"Yeah. I do. I've seen it, I don't remember myself what happened in it. Only what I saw on the tape."
"And you haven't brought it up because..."
"Neither of you can watch it yet. Especially Jay."
"Well, sorry but I'm a little weary of just blindly trusting you about the tape." I mumbled as I sat up a little straighter.
"Hey." Tim looked back at me, keeping a calm look on his face. "Trust me. You will see it. Just not now."
"... Okay then." I mumbled. I looked at Tim's beard and smirked a little. "At least your beard doesn't make you look like a deranged hobo like Alex's does." Tim snorted a bit at that, fighting back a tiny smile. Eventually, Jay did come back from the doctor's office and we finally made our way to Tim's house. Hopefully Alex can stop being a creep long enough for him not to be here.
Though something made me concerned. Jay mentioned the tape. I guess he looked at the video himself when me and Tim weren't paying attention. But Tim avoided it, so I guess I'll just keep quiet about what I know for both their sake's.
We stopped a little way from the house and walked from there. It was a small place, with a bit of junk here and there. Stepping inside we had to be careful. While I hooed for Alex not to be here, we could not take any chances. The attic ladder was down, and Tim made tentative moves towards it before going up with only a flashlight in hand.
"You see anything?" Jay whispered, gripping the camera tightly.
"No." I let Jay go up first before I followed. Judging from the blankets of a make shift bed and such, Alex must have been living here some time before he came down.
"Looks like he was staying up here." Tim commented "He wanted to wait until I got back and get the drop on me while I was asleep or something."
"Sounds like something he would do in his current state of mind." I agreed as I looked around before picking up a folded photograph of a smiling, blonde girl. I squinted my eyes a bit. She seemed... Kinda familiar but I couldn't quite... Wait...
"Hey, guys. I think this is Amy." I held the picture up and let Tim take it and look it before looking at the back of it. Written on it was, 'I have him. 79 South Creek Road'. A circle with an X was drawn at the bottom.
"It's gotta be talking about Alex, right?"
"Either him or whoever's in the hoody." Jay said. "You know that address?"
"No, but it shouldn't be hard to find."
"Should be simple enough." I agreed. Tim turned around to go back down.
"You two keep looking around up here, I gotta go check the living room." I frowned a little. Wondering if maybe Tim was going to try and find the tape before us to hide it. It seemed to most logical conclusion. Jay seemed surprised with this but luckily he did stay up. Long enough I think for Tim to get the tape.
But I couldn't think of a realistic reason to keep Jay from going back down eventually so he went went down before myself and went to the living room where Tim was.
"Looks like there was some sort of struggle in here. I know I sure didn't leave it like this." Tim looked around, glancing over everything. A brief thought came to mind, wondering if Tim actually did this looking for the tape. But it seemed impossible in the time me and Jay were in the attic and came back down. PLus we probably would have heard it.
"Did you check over there?" Jay asked, pointing in the corner where I think the tape wold have been.
"Hmm?"
"That's where that tape was, remember?"
"Oh, yeah."
"I'll look." I mumbled as I went to look in the corner and took the box. I figured if I looked inside it, Jay might not think Tim was hiding anything. As I expected, the box was empty aside from a couple of plastic bags.
"Nothing." I stated simply as I held the box up for Jay to see. He frowned, and I felt a little guilty for a moment. But I thinking it over, it had to have been for the best. Right?
Either way, we checked the rest of the house. I had thought it was just my imagination but Jay seemed to be giving Tim funny looks while he looked around more for the tape. Was he on to Tim? Maybe. But I would just have to go with whatever happened and hope for the best.
"So, uh... How much medication is there?" I asked Tim when he came out of the bathroom, Jay just a little behind me.
""All of it's stolen already. Well, at least we still got these." Tim held up the remaining pill bottle. "Should be good for another refill. Um, I'm sure we're fine now but just in case, I'm gonna go check the two rooms on the end. Can you check this one for me?" Tim asked Jay pointing to one of the rooms. I was about to move, planning on going to the living room to sit down for a minute when Jay just rushed passed me and pinned Tim to the wall.
"Jay, what are you doing?!"
"Jay, let him go!"
"Give me the tape." The tone in Jay's voice was a bit scary to be honest. Definitely not the Jay I'm used to.
"What tape? I don't know what-"
"I know you have it!" Jay snapped. Give it to me!"
"Get off!" Tim managed to push Jay off him and began backing down the hallway. I did the same. Unsure what Jay would do.
"Jay, you need to calm down. This isn't going to help us if you're acting like this." I tried to reason with him. But it was useless as Jay ran towards Tim again. I managed to get out of the way, just before Jay tackled Tim and began struggling with him. Dropping the camera in the process. If Jay wasn't doing this because he was slowly losing it, then I would have been slightly impressed that he could fight... A little. During the struggle, the tape somehow went flying onto the floor, and stumbling onto the ground briefly, Jay grabbed it and glared down at Tim who had gotten knocked down.
"What is this? What have you been hiding from us?!" Jay demanded as he held the tape up. Tim swallowed before he finally gave his answer.
"It's something you need to see, but not yet. If you watch that now, it's gonna ruin everything we've been working for."
Jay stared down at Tim before he picked up the dropped camera.
"I'm leaving." Jay began to run quickly outside.
"Jay, wait! Think what about you're doing!" I called as I chased after him. I had only managed to grab part of his t-shirt when he shoved me back against the wall.
"Don't follow me!" After that, he ran. I was too stunned to run after him myself. Trying to come to terms with what had just happened. I almost didn't notice Tim going out to run after Jay himself. I could only stand by the wall as my senses slowly came back to me. By then Tim had come back. From the look on his face, Jay was already gone.
"... So what now?" I asked, now back to reality. Tim sighed as he closed the door behind him.
"I don't know exactly. But chances are that Jay's gonna look at that tape and post it."
"Not too surprising I guess." I mumbled as we began to walk into the living room.
"... I guess I might as well tell you what I remember from the tape. Seeing how Jay is likely to post it."
Well, here it is. The long awaited chapter of this story. Hope it was worth the wait and hopefully I'll have the next chapter done before the next entry.
