Chapter 9: Keeping the Promise
-Fox
Pain, fear, discomfort on and on. These were the things I felt the last time I could remember. My mind was blank right now but I was aware of it, which meant I wasn't what they called 'dreaming' but in my mind state. I don't remember jumping into my mind. What was the last thing that happened? I tried to call forth any memories, taking several moments to recall what I could. Then they rushed forward like a bullet, slamming into me with great force that I almost lost hold of them and returning to blackness. I held on though, glad to be somewhat used to this kind of thing. I was watching my memories through the eyes of my champions, well at least the ones that I had a deep binding with. Ahri, Diana, Sona, all of them were looking at me, standing in front of them, smiling. I mouthed some words and turned around towards the elders behind me.
The memories went through what had happened, each of them moving next to me and Sona was in front of me. They kept their eyes on the Elders and watched them closely so that they didn't interfere, or that's what they were thinking. As they felt their power growing, their vision started to fade into various colors. Sona's vision turned things into different shades of green, Diana's turned into different shades of purple and Ahri was different shades of red. Something I noticed from each of them was that I was quickly leaving their minds and they went to places I couldn't see into but I could feel secondary objectives there. They kept building up power, not paying attention to anything but the Elders, like they had to stay focused on them.
Then, out of nowhere, their visions returned to normal and Ahri and Sona collapsed to the ground. Diana took a step forward and brought her hand to her temple, grasping it from the pain. They took a little bit of time but looked up quickly as the Elders each came down from where they sat to look at them.
In Diana's eyes, her memories, she was approached by the Elder of Water.
"Diana, are you okay?" She asked, to which I saw her nod.
"I'm fine, why do you ask?" She answered.
I switched over to Sona's memories and saw that she was being addressed by the Elder of Air with the same question. I switched over to Ahri's and she was being asked the same by the Elder of Earth. I just waited a bit and switched back to Diana.
"You went too far with your power." Said the Elder to Diana. Diana looked at her and down to her hands, not seeing any change to them.
"What do you mean too far?" She looked over at Sona and Ahri, who returned the look of confusion only to do the same by turning to the Elder of Fire's voice.
"Water, get over here. He's going into shock."
The three of them turned to him, to see him crouching over my body along with Aatrox, Rengar, Fizz and Yasuo who was holding my head. I was beat to shit it looked like, blood coming out of the corner of my mouth, my nose and there were a couple of streaks of tears of blood. I was starting to shake violently and that's when I watched myself die through someone else's eyes. Diana took a step forward but stopped on a dime. She fell to the ground, clutching at her head along with Sona and Ahri. I switched back and forth from their memories to see if any of them could see what else was happening, why they were going through so much pain. Then I saw Ahri look up at me, look up to see Rengar, Yasuo, Fizz and Aatrox put a hand to their heads showing slight pain. Then all of her attention was back to me, watching as the Elder of Water came to my side and spoke words of runes I'm guessing, at which I'd never heard before.
Ahri and the rest of my champions rose more and shook their heads, like the pain was lessening. I stopped shaking but my eyes, that's what scared me the most right now. They were just the whites, my pupils and irises were gone. The Elder of Fire motioned for Yasuo to sit me up which he followed obediently. The Elder of Earth moved to kneel in front of me while the Elder of Fire held my head up from slouching. The Elder of Earth moved his hands in weird motions, making different formations while whispering a spell or spells. It would've been interesting to watch further if my life wasn't at stake here. He seemed to finish the spell or whatever because he placed his right forefinger onto the middle of my forehead while placing his thumb onto the bridge of my nose. He placed his left forefinger onto the center of my chest and his left thumb on the center of my collarbone. I was awe struck as yet another green light appeared at the points of his fingers and thumbs, but they didn't last long, more like a build-up of like five seconds, then it flashed brightly and disappeared. The Elder of Air then came up next to the Elder of Fire and whispered her own spells while the Elder of Fire whispered his. She formed a ball of air it seemed which had a physical form of constantly moving winds but in a gentle way. The Elder of Fire summoned forth a sunset orange flame that looked as kind as the winds that blew in the ball of air made by the Elder next to him.
They combined their spells in a smooth way, having the new spell turn into a blue flame that turned fiercer. The Elder of Fire held the result in his right hand and moved it to my chest. He removed his hand from under it and to the side of it instead, to gently push it into my chest. It slid into me like a needle into soft flesh, my body accepting it effortlessly and causing my eyes to return to their original state. Why don't I remember any of this part? I took a closer look at them as Ahri did and observed as my irises turned to a bland grey. They had never been that color before so why were they that color now? Did…did this mean I was now blind? I continued to watch through her eyes, seeing my eyelids close and the Elder of Fire lay me back down gently.
"We need to get him to special care now. He needs constant attention until he wakes up." Said the Elder of Water. Ahri looked up to her, tearing her eyes from me to ask her something but I don't know what it was since the memories cut off there. They all rushed away, leaving me in the darkness again. I tried calling them back to see what else happened but my efforts were wasted. How long was I going to be alone in this darkness? Was this my new reality because I pushed it too far? This…this is the hell I didn't want.
Then I noticed a figure in front of me. A lone white figure. There were absolutely no features to this figure but I could tell it was human and a man since there were no breasts. I stood there, watching him as he watched me. He said nothing, keeping quiet and eerie in this darkness that was my head…my hell. I couldn't take this anymore, I needed to talk to someone.
"Who…who are you?" I asked. There was no response, no breath, no fidget, and no movement. He just stood there like a statue fresh from the masonry.
"What happened to me?" I pursued. Still no answer. I stepped closer to him to try and touch him. Still no movement as I stepped closer. As I took another step after several before it, I was now face to blank face with him. This was so fucking weird since there was nothing there, just whiteness.
"Are you my consciousness?" I continued to ask with the questions. Still no answer.
"Is this what the rest of my existence is going to be? Talking to a white being of some sort, after watching myself get saved, maybe?" I asked more towards myself. The white man continued to remain quiet not giving off the slightest hint that he was actually there and not just a way for me to keep myself from going insane.
"Why does it seem that I have no purpose on Runeterra? I'm nothing? Is that it? Just some guy who woke up on the side of a mountain just to go to school for four years, get bound to seven champions and then die showing my bound progress to earn a title? All that time a waste?!" I shouted around me.
"Not a waste." Came another, deeper voice than my own. I turned back to the white figure of a man that finally seemed to speak.
"What did you say?" I asked. He didn't respond. "Did you say 'not a waste.'"? I asked at him.
"I did." He responded this time. I walked back towards him and had to get a clear answer since he seemed to know my purpose here.
"Then what was it?" I asked to him. There was a slight pause before he responded again.
"Practice."
"Practice? For what?"
Again there was a slight pause before he answered. "For what comes next."
At that, pain shot through my head and it was like I blinked. The white figure was gone and I was alone again, except for the pain which was very quickly expanding through me. Holy shit this hurt. The pain intensified even more. HOLY SHIT THIS HURT! I started to scream from the pain and far off in the darkness came the memories again. They came faster than they ever have before, rushing past me and making the pain even worse than it already was.
My eyes shot open and I continued to scream as I launched forward to sit up. I felt rushed hands push onto my chest as I looked around, taking quick and deep breaths. I was in a hospital room again, this time it was crowded. I blinked several times to clear my vision cause that was still a fucking issue. Gods. After things were crisper I saw Sona next to me on my left, her hands on my chest trying to ease me. The pain was gone, but the shock was still there. I reached out to her with my left hand to make sure she was real and her face was one that had many emotions on it seemed. I focused on her and felt tears rush to my eyes, still scared of seeing myself die to an extent through her memories.
She moved her right hand up to my cheek to comfort me, focusing on the warmth there, I locked eyes with her and my vision of her started to blur up like a window on a foggy night.
'Fox, calm down. I'm here. We're all here.' Came her sweet voice that I missed so much. I kept my focus on her, trying to ease myself back into reality. I'm here. I'm alive, not in the darkness. I had my champions around me and was still sane. I could see her and as it appeared to me, I looked around to see the rest of my champions in the room, observing my every move with eager intention. I kept my hold onto Sona with my left hand and reached out to Diana who sat to my right. I grabbed her hand in a hurried expression and pulled her close to me. She moved in, placing her face into my right shoulder, while I wrapped my arm around her to hug her more closely.
I know that she didn't like me that much but I didn't care, she was unharmed, and she was real. I wanted the three of them to be as close as they could be to me right now, because I was done with that darkness of solitude. Done with the loneliness I had experienced over these past years. Now that they were with me, I didn't want them away from me, but I don't want them to go through what I did, the sheer pain of my mind and body as we let out power loose in front of the elders.
"Fox…?" I heard a sweet, shy voice call out. I looked over quickly to see Ahri leaning in and I nodded for her to go ahead and get on top of me to hug me. I pulled in Sona as well, trying to wrap my arm around her, not as much as I did Diana but I still got it around her somewhat. Ahri placed herself gently on top of me, burying her face into my left cheek. I felt another face being put into my neck and slightly turned it to see Sona close the gap that I couldn't. I closed my eyes, enjoying their presence and touch to my skin.
I don't know how long we stayed the way we were but it didn't matter to me. I reached out to Diana and Ahri to link our minds again feeling them openly accept it to share the same feelings that I did. What I saw after I felt those feelings was completely different than what I was prepared for.
In Diana's mind, her hatred for me was practically gone, only fragments remained. I could only guess she was allowing me to see these feelings of hers since I felt her craving to have me with her. It wasn't a craving to be with her all the time but to just be with her. I recognized this feeling since I've felt it for a long time still. I reached over to Ahri's mind and found what I expected to find but it was on a level more, sincere than I knew for her to have. She had me on her mind, all over it in fact except for a dark area that I still couldn't get access to but I didn't care. I searched her emotions to find why she felt this way towards me, baffled and mind numbed as to why she cared this much. I saw her memories of our mission together, saw our night together on the train where she waited on the bed alone. This must've been the night she planned to make me 'apologize' to her. I could see her fidgeting with her hands as she waited, checking the slightest details around the room. As she heard the water turn down and of, she rushed back to where she was sitting on the bed, checking her clothes again and hesitating with whether she wanted to unbutton her blouse all the way or not. I don't know why I was watching this memory again but I could see that she felt strongly about what was coming next, I mean who wouldn't? It's sex. Then her memories flashed to afterwards. I couldn't hear any words being said but I knew it was at the part where she asked what was next between us. I saw my lips respond with the answer I remember giving and saw through her eyes that she looked down at her hands again and her body. I pressed further into her so I could feel the emotions that evaded me in these memories but Ahri blocked me off.
'Later Fox. You can see it later. Just let me enjoy this right now.' She responded to me. Her hands that she had placed onto the right side of my neck and the other on my chest. Lastly, I reached into Sona's mind and was almost as surprised as when I looked into Diana's mind. Sona held nothing back from me, letting me into her mind and emotions completely. I could feel her fear of me not waking up, her relief when I did, her sneaking love for me and her jealousy from the other memories of hers I had when I spoke with my past doctor about dating, when I left with Ahri, all of it. I could feel her want to be with me at all times no matter what. This was more overwhelming than I wanted it to be but, I felt like I could control it. I had room for it and needed it with me so I basically adopted the feelings and in them, there was power I didn't sense before.
The power wasn't like that of when I was showing the Elders how deep our bond was, when we pulled forth their power willingly but uncontrolled. It spread through my mind until it filled it contently and wholly for itself. It made my mind at ease as did Sona's serene voice and thus filled me with warmth. The power eased itself forth, ready to be let out with patience. It didn't force its way out, just waited for me to let it out to which I did with an eager intent. I opened my eyes, hearing gasps come from Fizz, which was a shock at first.
"Holy shit, is it a good idea to be doing that after your whole episode man?" He asked out loud, really pointing out what I guessed was happening with my eyes. Ahri and Diana both pulled back with haste to see what Fizz was talking about, their faces breaking into shock as they watched what was going on with my eyes. Ahri sat back on the bed that I was in and Diana moved to the side as I sat up, pulling the covers off my legs and swung my feet over the side. I felt so energized, my vision was clearer than it ever has been, and my senses felt…heightened? What the hell?
I looked over to Sona to see her eyes or more specifically her irises, were pure green and glowing. Through her eyes I saw myself, having the same colored eyes except I had a silver glow on the outside of my irises. I brought my left hand up to her right jaw and brought her face closer to mine so I could see any further detail. I felt her cheeks get warmer and it started to show the longer we were closer to each other, then I felt the emotions of wanting to lean in the rest of the distance.
'Easy now Sona. I can feel everything you feel and know what it is that you want…' I said to her through our minds which felt almost like talking with a voice now. She nodded at me and her face went unaltered by what I said.
'You were meant to.' This took me back as just about a full-fledged admission of attraction.
'It is…'
Again this shocked me so I let go of her cheek, only to have her catch my hand before it was even an inch away from where it was and place it back. I found it hard to look away from her, not know what I was feeling right now.
"Hey, hey, hey, you two." Called out a voice. I finally broke away from our trance into each other's eyes and looked over at the rest of them. Ahri had her tails puffed up again while Diana was kind of oblivious as to Sona and I getting as close as we did to kissing. I saw that it was Fizz again and saw him fiddling with his staff while giving that impression that he was raising an eyebrow. I shook my head, leaned forward about to step off the bed ready to move out of this hospital already.
"Keep it PG13 here." Fizz added in. As I made my first slight movement to creep myself off the bed, I felt a few hands grab onto me like the dead clinging to life, hold me back from going any further.
"Whoa there Fox, just where the hell do you think you're going?" Said Ahri with a stern voice of a mother to her child. I looked over to her and raised my eyebrows.
"Uhm, to the Elders. Duh. I need some answers for my questions."
"What questions?" Asked Diana.
"Questions like what's the difference between the powers I had with you three earlier today," I started but was interrupted by Rengar.
"Two days ago actually young hunter."
I snapped my attention to him with yet another bewildered face.
"Two days? TWO days? How the hell do I keep getting knocked out like this?"
"Well, that's what we were thinking but then again, you were bound to Sona who yet again, will not leave your side and keeps administering healing effects to you in any area that shows is giving off pain." Answered Aatrox.
I shook my head again slowly and started moving myself off the edge of the bed again, only to be stopped by the hands yet again. Which was getting annoying.
"Thought I had my fucking powers under control with a slight lenience but this is just ridiculous." I moved my final way off the bed or so I tried only to have the hands of my female champions hold me back yet again. I brought forth a deep rumble in my throat the represented a sound like growling, only to impress myself with its likeness to one. I looked over at Ahri who returned her own at me for still trying to leave her care. Her ears started to go back in a pissed expression and I only reached out to her with my emotions of getting pissed to really show how annoyed I was getting with this which did the trick for her. After she lifted her hold on me I turned to look at Diana who was like a steel trap but I was going to be the heat that melted her and held her cold gaze that matched her trap. For a few seconds she held out but after I started moving my shoulder from her grasp, she held on no longer and fell to my will of freedom. I didn't need to turn to Sona to get her to let me go since we still had this weird connection going on, and after a quick explanation in my head, she removed herself from me.
I rolled my shoulders, pushed myself the rest of the way off of the bed to land on my feet with a thud louder than I wanted it to be in my head. It left quickly only to be replaced by a little dizziness. I couldn't show that this dizziness just yet to them, not until I was outside because that would only give more room to keep me here and I didn't like confined spaces. After blinking away the dizziness, I looked around at them, looking for my clothes.
"Anyway, I need answers for why these two types of links exist, specifically the ones that have words of power, and the ones that have just…this…connection." I ended with my head looking towards the ground, pondering possible explanations.
"What do you mean two types? Aren't you and Sona doing that exact bond you were before?" Asked Yasuo from my guess of their voices. I simply shook my head again and continued to think.
"No…no it's different. Those other times, there were words of power that appeared in my head, but I had to call to them and it was kinda hard to read them but not as hard to say them. Probably because their words, but the process to get them took a lot of power itself and time. There were a lot of conditions that needed to be met as well but…with the kinda connection Sona and I have now, it's so much easier. It's just there. Neither of us had to really work for it to appear, all Sona did was let down all her walls to her mind so I could feel everything she can and I mean EVERYTHING. Same with me, I'm not really hiding anything from her only things here and there but…she let me in completely."
There was silence for a bit after I tried to explain my thought process to them, then Yasuo spoke up.
"Then what does it mean?"
"I'm not for sure but it's almost like," I started but again was cut off.
"The power came to you willingly instead of by force." Finished a familiar voice from in front of me. I looked up and saw the master standing there, looking out the room window which I didn't notice we had before. He had his back to us with his hands folded together, clasping onto the opposite forearm. I fell back from shock and cried out with a small gasp of surprise from my other champions.
"HOLY SHIT!" I screamed still in shock.
The Master didn't say anything else until I calmed down a little along with Sona, who had taken a place between me and The Master, covering me with her body, her front facing him. I looked into her mind as to why she was doing this and she almost didn't know why herself, it was a reaction. I tapped her shoulder letting her know it was okay and she turned her head to look at me, then herself and how she moved.
"It's cool, it's cool. Just scared the shit out of me is all." After I consoled her, she nodded and moved back to her seat, watching The Masters movements.
"Good day, sir. How can we help you today?" I asked after sitting up and straightening myself.
"I have come to answer any of your questions that you desire answers to, Mister Fox." He addressed towards me in almost a formal way. It was unnerving and I had to shift a bit because the way he said my name just made me feel…weird. I cleared my throat and looked in his direction as he continued to look out the window. Then it occurred to me that I've never seen or heard of him anywhere on the grounds except for places only he, the Elders and any high summoners went such as Diamonds and Challengers.
"Sir," I began but he turned to me, cutting me off yet again, holding out his left hand towards me. Oh shit, was I supposed to call him Master at all times or something?
'Well, that's what we were told.' Spoke Sona to me through my mind. As I was about to thank her, The Master spoke up.
"There is no need to be so formal Mister Fox."
"Uhm…okay? I don't know what else to call you but I'm just going to continue to call you Sir because it feels weird calling you by a nickname I'm sure you were about to give me to call you by." I responded before he decided to make me special by getting me in close to him with nicknames and what not.
He held quiet yet again for a few uncomfortable moments before resting his hands behind his back and nodding.
"If that is what you want then so be it. You may begin your questions Mister Fox."
I cleared my throat again and first decided to ask why he was here or all places.
"I am here because you are curious as to this new power you are currently experiencing." He responded before I could ask it out loud. What the hell?
'He can read your mind Summoner.' Answered Sona.
"He can?" I asked towards her.
"I can." Confirmed The Master.
"What? How?" I asked obliviously.
"Because he's The Master. Duh. He can do just about everything." Said Fizz like the smartass he is. I cocked a quick glare at him and he chuckled in response.
"Because it is my duty to have as much information about my students as I can."
I turned back towards The Master and cleared my head one last time prepared to ask my questions.
"What is going on right now, meaning what is this power that I feel with Sona right now?"
"Willful power."
"Enlighten me please, sir."
"It is power that can only be accessed by a support class and their bound summoner. Meaning, when she has fully accepted you and you have fully accepted her into each-others minds, then you will unlock the full potential of the power."
"Full potential?" I asked for further explanation.
"Yes."
"This isn't all the power of this willful power?"
"It is not."
"Why?"
"Because you haven't unlocked everything to Sona. All of your past, and present experiences, all your feelings, everything. As soon as you do that, you will feel the fullness of the Willful Power."
I looked around without turning my head, feeling my champion's eyes on me.
"Wait, wait, wait, you mean Sona let you into her head fully and you are still putting up walls?" Asked Fizz with a matter of fact tone.
"Well….possibly." I responded with a nervous tone.
"Dick." He said.
"Fizz, keep your dignity intact while in my presence please." Ordered The Master towards him.
"My apologies sir."
"You champions misunderstand. Mister Fox has his reasons for keeping certain parts of his mind hidden from you."
"And why's that Master?" asked Aatrox.
"Because you can't handle what my minds been through yet and I don't ever want you to try…" I responded with a dreadful voice, knowing the dark things that awaited them if they truly did want to try. That's when the light chuckling started from all my champions except Sona, but she had a smile on her face.
"Fox, I mean Summoner, you have no idea the crap we've been through." Started Fizz.
"I've watched countless friends and good warriors die before me, even the very person that has forced me to come to this place." Said Yasuo.
"I have lived many years and have seen many wars so I doubt what is in your mind is something I haven't seen." Said Aatrox.
Just as I expected, none of them were anywhere close to ready to what I was hiding.
"Indeed, none of them are Mister Fox." The Master said repeating my thoughts keeping his eerie mask looking towards me. As soon as he said that, my champions went silent and looked back at us two.
"Wait…you know what he's hiding in his head?" Asked Ahri, finally speaking up in front of the Master.
I continued to watch The Master as he nodded his head slowly. This shocked me because even if he is The Master, he shouldn't be able to fully scan my head. That's like invasion of privacy…
"I apologize Mister Fox but if it was you, I had to know your full intentions for my precious champions that are now in your care and I must say, your plans are indeed of those I didn't think a summoner of the past has thought of to teach their champions." He said to me with a positive tone in his voice.
"Glad you approve." I said out loud.
"Continue with your questions Mister Fox."
I just stared at him for a while longer before asking my next questions.
"What was the real point behind the Elders calling me to the grand hall? I know they don't call you there to confirm a title by showing power…so what was it?"
"That, was supposed to be a simple show of you being able to bind with your champions, one on one. They did not expect for you to be able to bind with them to that point let alone try it with all three of them at the same time."
"They? Meaning you knew I'd try to push my limits?" I pressed further.
The Master nodded to confirm. "Indeed I did, but I did not think you wouldn't be able to handle their full power yet and I was right. You have shown here in your past years that you push yourself until you can't push anymore. You have always stopped however, at the point at which your power started to recoil."
"Recoil?" I asked not fully knowing what he meant.
"Yes. The nosebleeds you had, that was the recoil. Your mind extending its power to the points at which you were not yet ready. The blood is that of your heart trying to keep up with the demand for nutrients to the brain, the blood necessary to continue growing at its rate you were going that day. Once you reached the point where you couldn't take it in because your mind simply didn't know what to do with that blood it demanded, it halted it, which cause your blood vessels that held the blood, to explode from the built up pressure." The Master explained. It all really made sense now.
"But this time," He continued without warning. "Your power outreached you. You grasped for another level that was too deep for you." I looked down at the floor, taking in this new information and thinking on it quickly, knowing he was right as he probably usually was.
I nodded at him and looked at my hands, closing them then opening them again. I looked back up to The Master and had one more question for him which he probably already knew I was going to ask. "Then the power that Sona and I have now…is that a step up or a step down in levels?"
The Master tilted his head downwards as if coming up with a way to explain this Willful Power.
"It is its own level to speak. Meaning when you reach it, it is on its final form of power. Consider it a type of reserve to get you extra energy sent throughout your body if you need to get away from a dangerous situation." He explained further. I looked over at Sona and saw her staring at me. As I played with this new power quickly to see if what The Master said was true. Sometimes, even the most experienced of us all might not know some things. So the first thing I tried was pulling forth more of my power while this power was here, concentrating on the Willful Power to combine it with my power. As it came up, the Willful Power moved aside and gave itself a secluded section it seemed, and waited. Now my power was all I could really feel, but the Willful power was still there. So it really was just a reserve power…
"As I said, the Willful Power is only there as a reserve and has only the one level to it. If you can amplify it, no one knows how to. But, the Willful Power regenerates at a moderately steady pace. If you use it all within hours, it only takes a day or so for it to fulfill itself back up to its full capacity." Continued the Master answering my final question. I subsided my power and felt the Willful Power make its way back to the center stage, ready for me to use.
"Does that answer all of your questions Mister Fox?" Asked the Master one last time. I about nodded to answer but I saw Sona's eyes glowing still and wanted to know how to break the link for this new power. I turned back to The Master and pointed at Sona and my eyes.
"How do I break the link so to save power?"
"Use the Power."
I brought my eyebrows together and held my mouth ajar a bit, confused.
"That's it?" I asked.
The Master nodded and made his way back to the window to look out of it. "That's it."
"Uhm…okay. Well, thank you for your visit Master. You've answered all of my questions to complete satisfaction." I responded, standing back up onto my feet and bowing to him. As I brought myself up, he looked back over at me and bowed his head in a gentle manner, showing respect it seemed.
"It was my pleasure Mister Fox. One final note will be that I have cleared you as well enough to leave the hospital. I require that you head back to your room and do the rest of your recovery there. You have some questions of your own to answer for your champions it seems." I looked around to them and saw them nodding in their own way. I rolled my eyes and turned back to where the Master stood. Only thing was that he was gone, no trace of him anymore.
"How the fuck does he do that?" I asked. I looked around the room for my clothes and noticed a bag around Aatrox's shoulder. He shrugged it off and handed it to me, knowing by my look that I wanted my dress attire. I rummaged through it and found my coat along with my sash and undershirt. There were some dark blue jeans in here as well with some weird belt type things hanging off the side.
I put the clothes on the bed and turned towards Sona, having her undo the ties of this hospital gown yet again. This hospital thing isn't going to become a regular thing. After I felt the final string come undone, I turned towards my clothes but noticed Diana turn her head quickly, as did Sona, but she more or so covered her face with the hospital gown in an extremely cute way. Like a kid trying to hide their embarrassment from another kid they liked. I raised an eyebrow and looked at Fizz who pointed down at my dick, making me wonder. As I looked down, I could see my member just hanging there, no underwear, nothing. Ahri didn't seem to shy away, only glance at it and purr a light toned purr. Her tails swayed from side to side in a slower manner, enjoying her view of what she's already seen.
"Huh. So this happened again? Great." I said out loud instead of to myself in my head.
"AGAIN? What do you mean again?" Asked Diana in a strong tone of voice.
"He means that it's happened before. This is a repeated event in his life. It happened so much that he's used to it by now. What do you think it means?" Asked Fizz in a voice indicating that Diana wasn't the brightest bulb in the box. I chuckled whilst reaching for my underwear, sliding that on first so that Diana didn't freak out anymore.
"Shut up Fizz!" Yelled Diana, still averting her eyes from something she was sure to see in the future.
As I finished putting on my underwear, I grabbed my pants and threw those on quickly. The door to the room opened suddenly and Yasuo, Rengar, and Aatrox moved quickly, drawing their weapons and pointing them at whoever was entering the room. The person held up her hands, with the clipboard in the right hand, shaking a bit. My eyes widened as I recognized the doctor and turned towards her as I undid my folded up shirt to put that on.
"Well, well. Ms. Flare. What're you doing here?" I asked with a happy tone. Don't know why she made me feel so happy whenever I saw or thought about her. Guess that's just the effect she has.
"You know, I had a way better greeting from your champions last time I met them." She responded looking at the three sharp blades pointing directly at her.
"Yeah well, this is the first time I've ever seen them react this way so it's a first for both of us. You my doctor again?" I asked.
She nodded as much as she could, bringing her clipboard down to push away Aatrox's blade. I chuckled, motioning with my left hand for them to calm down and holster their weapons again. They did so in a fast manner, returning to their relaxed positions they were in before she entered.
"Why you stopping by? I thought The Master cleared me already?" I asked while shuffling the shirt over my head, placing my fingers on each corner of the front of the shirt to pull it down. As she looked down at her clipboard again, I reached for my jacket, sliding my right arm into its sleeve. Sona put down the gown and came to my back, holding the jacket open for me more so I could slide my left arm in more comfortably.
"Yes, he did. I just came by to see if you needed anything before you left." She looked up from her clipboard to me, as I brushed off my sleeves to get any excess stuff off and straighten out the wrinkles, while Sona did the same on my back but more gently than I was doing it.
"Well, you and I still have that slightly post-poned date waiting. I don't leave until tomorrow, so let's go talk." I said, turning to Sona and hugging her gently as a thank you. She hugged back of coarse but hesitated to let go. I smiled at her, winking and turning towards the Ms. Flare whom was blushing. I nodded towards the rest of my champions with a smile.
"Alright everyone, only thing I want you to do is go to the Practice Rift and run 10 laps."
They all looked at me like I was crazy and all I did was raise my eyebrows.
"10 laps? That's it?" Asked Rengar. I looked to him with a smirk and a chuckle placing my hands on my hips.
"Is that it, Ha ha ha. No. After that, I want you all to do five sprints from inhib to inhib. After that, 20 push-ups along with 20 sit-ups. No items, no abilities, just your body and its strength."
All of my champions looked at Rengar with a glare, but he didn't care. He pounded his chest with a smile and cracked his knuckles on each hand. "Easily done young hunter! Come my fellow champions! Let's do as our summoner commands!" With that, they all groaned and followed Rengar as he left the room. After they all left, I kept the smile on my face as Sona was the last one to leave, then looking over at Ms. Flare.
"So, shall we?" I asked, with a smile erupting onto her face.

After almost two hours of training, we finally finished with the annoying workout task that Fox gave us and were walking down the hallway towards our room to relax and rest. Especially me, since Fox and I had a nice day walk to our mission's location. Rengar reached into one of the pockets he had on his sashes, pulling out the key card to our room. After he swiped it, there was the usual whirring of the gears as they unlocked the doors so we could push them open with little effort. As the doors swung open reveal what was behind them, we came across Fox sitting on the couch with his back to us, hunched over like he was reading something. He turned to us, greeting us with a smile. I could guess all of us gave the same disgusted and annoyed face since he just laughed after looking at us for a brief moment.
"Welcome back. Looks like you guys had a hard time. Except for you two." He said while pointing back and forth from Rengar and Aatrox. Neither of them had a hard time at all while running and doing our sprints. Aren't they just fucking perfect?
"Yeah, they had it easy since their used to that kind of workout. The rest of us, not so much." Responded Ahri. She was right, I mean, yeah were supposed to keep ourselves in shape but no one really cares that much since we don't age.
"Well, that's going to change very fast. Now, Diana, come here. I got my hands on that scroll Bella mentioned. There are a couple of symbols I can't recognize so come here and help me out." He said, turning back around. Diana bolted towards him, jumping over the couch and landing on her ass next to him.
"You can read most of these symbols?" I heard Diana ask. I jolted my hand into the air to call out my next thought.
"Dibs on first shower!" I yelled, to which I made a break for it. As soon as I made it to the hallway, I jumped off the wall, pulling my weight over myself so I flipped sideways in the air. I heard something slam into the wall, knowing that Yasuo was going to fight me for the first shower. As I landed on my feet I heard feet rushing after me but it was too late, I already dashed into the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind me and positioning my staff so he couldn't bust down the door.
"Ha!" I called out, turning to see the empty bathroom. I made my way towards it and started the water. Once the tub was large tub was full, I slipped into it and relaxed, placing my arms outstretched on the edges, feeling the warmth creep into my body to soothe my muscles. Gods, this was such a great temperature, wish it felt like this all the time outside. I watched as the water moved itself gracefully, like a leaf does in the wind. I moved the way it was told and in response to my movements. This tranquility and calmness reminded me of Nami and how she moved on those magic waves of hers. Never stuttering or doing something as meaningless as missing a step, no. No, whenever she did something, it was full of intent and smooth as breathing. I continued to recall a lot of things about Nami that I had forgotten I noticed, running the bar of soap over myself while I did so, laughing to some of the memories. Once I was done, I reached over to the holographic tablet near the tub and told it to drain everything. I stepped out of the tub and shook myself clean of any extra water, grabbing a towel to dry of the water that was thrown from me.
Once I was done cleaning up, I threw the towel back onto the wrack and undid my staff from the door. I noticed the little marks that I left, almost regretting doing what I did, but I shrugged it off. I opened the door, entering the hallway, seeing Fox and Diana still pondering stuff about that scroll he got. She had her hair wrapped up in a towel though, along with her sleep attire. How did she take a shower or bath? How did she get clean? I looked around towards Sona and Yasuo seeing they were freshly clean as well and in more comfortable clothing, just conversing. What the hell?
"How did you all take showers and shit? I had the bathroom to myself." I called out. Fox stood up, moved to the kitchen whilst chewing on something, reached into the cupboard and grabbed a cup.
"I used some of my cash to upgrade the bathroom so that we had multiple of them." He said to me, reaching into the fridge to get a beverage I assumed.
"Oh, okay. So, what does your scroll say? Anything more on who you are?" I asked as I set my staff against the wall near the hallway and walked towards the kitchen to get something to eat. Once again, I kicked off the drawer towards the opposing counter to land onto it. I reached up to the cabinet, opened it and pondered at what I should eat. Fox shook his head pulling out a blue liquid from within the fridge.
"Nope, not yet. Although thanks to Diana, I have learned a few new lunar symbols."
I nodded as well, picking out some canned nuts to munch on, while I picked some canned fish to cook. "Sweet man." I said, while jumping the small distance to Fox's shoulder then jumping again to the counter where the stove was. I popped open the can of fish and set them aside to grab a pan, but Fox was already on top of it. He pulled it out and set it on the stove, turning the dial so it was set to 350 degrees. I looked to him with an eyebrow cocked up, if I had one.
"What?" He asked, turning back to poor his drink into his cup.
"You know how to cook Galapa Fish?" I asked with an almost false hope tone.
He just shrugged, finishing pouring himself some of the familiar drink in Runeterra. "I told you guys, I've spent a lot of time in the library. There are a lot of culinary books. So I know my way around some food."
I kept silent, a smile breaking out on my face and sitting down, opening the can of nuts, throwing one into my mouth. "So, can you make it a full course then?"
He turned to me, picking something out of his teeth with his tongue, looking at the now frying fish and back towards me, searching the cabinets behind me. After a small moment he nodded, pointing at several spices for me to grab.
"Get those. It's something I'm still perfecting but I'll see if there's anything you suggest I add." He said. I nodded at him in return, jumping back to my feet grabbing the four, no five spices he motioned for me to grab since the first time he told me to get them I didn't see what he was wanting me to get. After I laid them down next to the stove, Fox searched the drawers to find the silverware at which I directed him. He reached into the drawer, rummaging through the many varieties of spoons, forks and knives, finally deciding on a couple and pulling them from their place. He did a fancy little twirl of the utensils in his hands and went to work, flipping the fish in many different ways. He almost smoothly cut off the fish's tail but had a little hard time with it, almost like he cut the wrong area. Either way, he slid the knife under the separated area and threw it onto the counter. My fellow champions came over to watch as well since this was something none of us really got to see.
It felt like there was almost nothing Fox hadn't read up on. He went on to cut off the head, more smoothly than the tail, picking that up with the same method as the tail and throwing it next to the tail. I chuckled and looked at him, seeing a focused and determined face show itself. He was really trying with this huh? I looked back to what he was doing and saw that he had cu the fish into several smaller pieces, spreading them out, pressing down on them then flipping them over. He grabbed two of the spices, still holding the utensils, and sprinkled a bit of each spice over the fish. He then scooped the small pieces together into a big piles and scrambled them around. He set the spices he just used aside and grabbed two more, leaving one next to me and the head and tail of the fish. He tapped each one making the spices come out from the bottles with the fork and knife. After they fell over the fish, dropped one of the containers onto the fish, making just a bit more come out of the container and he cursed something under his breath. He picked up the container and set it aside with the other three he already used. Once he was done with that, he continued to easily flip the pieces of fish in every which way, setting down the knife and grabbing the handle of the pan, rolling the fish around now in its own juices that were coming out of it. He then, threw them into the air, whispered something and a barrier bubble appeared around the pieces, making them float. He held his left hand under the ball, reaching out with his right and grabbing the final spice. He tipped it just barely above the ball and one small set of grains came out, into the ball and he set the spice with the others he had used. He turned off the stove heat next then grabbed a plate that came out of nowhere, Sona or Ahri must've gotten it for him. He placed it under the barrier ball and dispelled it. The pieces fell onto the plate and landed all over the plate covering it. The smell coming from the finished food was absolutely wonderful.
Moving my head over it, I sniffed up the aroma and my eyes rolled from its beauty.
"That, was fucking awesome! Where did you learn to do that man?!" I exclaimed, hurrying to find a fork so I could dig in. His face didn't have a look of success but one of…hmm…disappointment?
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, it may smell great but its taste never lands the mark. Try it before you call me an amazing cook." He said, moving over to the sink with the pan, running water over it. I grabbed a fork eager to try this great smelling shit out! As I stabbed the first few pieces, the fork slid into the meat with ease, showing that the meat was pretty tender. I picked them up and moved them into my mouth where the flavor exploded. It was some soft meat with the juices still in it giving it more flavor but as I chewed on it, the spices really started coming out making the taste that of a really spicy flavor. I started chewing faster out of instinct to help spread around the flavor so it didn't overwhelm my tongue which worked at first.
"Man it's spicy but in a good way! Oh man this is good!" I said, bringing smiles to my fellow champions watching me eat it. Yasuo reached out to Fox to congratulate him on a job well done but Fox held up his hand, still watching me.
"Ah ah…wait for it." He said, making everyone look back to me. I tilted my head in confusion and didn't know what he was talking about. Then it hit me. The fish had turned into a sour taste, which I was used to since I've eaten raw fish numerous times before, but to others it would be a disgusting taste.
"Oh, why did it go sour, like, raw fish sour?" I asked, swallowing the fish, stabbing a few more to get the taste and try it out once more. Fox shook his head in a disappointed way, slapping his forehead with his left hand.
"Dammit! It went sour?" He asked, to which I nodded, shoveling another forkful of his dish into my mouth.
"Yeah, but to me, it's still good. Just wish the spicy flavor stayed with it." I said with a mouthful. Sona came up and grabbed a small piece with her fingers. At first her face showed the same as mine, the spice hitting your taste first and its wonderful taste, then after a while the sour was going to hit, which by judging her face, was right now. She cringed really hard but swallowed it despite how bad she made it look. She looked at Fox, seeming to have a small conversation within their minds and he nodded.
"I know, the Galapa fish is weird, like the meat is really absorbent and it releases any flavor it takes in really fast but I just can't figure out how to time it just right or cook it just right so that the flavor stays with the meat. I don't know this is something I'm still fiddling around with." Fox explained to us. The other champions started comforting him I guess, asking what other dishes he could make, but I kept on eating the fish, little by little, observing the flavor. He was right, the flavor does seem to just slip out of the meat which makes it so potent. Maybe if he used the daffel flower to counter that, he should be able to make it so that the flavor stays in longer.
"So Fizz, got any suggestions on how to make it better?" Called out a voice. I turned to them all, still chewing on a piece as it was turning sour, back to its raw taste. I looked to see that Aatrox had approached me and was observing the food.
"Yeah, actually I do. There's a flower out there that has that feature in it that cooks use to help flavor stay in their dishes." I started but Fox seemed to already know what I was talking about with his next question.
"The Daffel Flower right?" He said. I nodded, swallowing the fish and going for the last of it with one more forkful. I scooped it up and shoved it into my mouth. "Yeah, I've tried getting my hands on one but no one at the market carries any, the cafeteria slash mess hall won't give me shit, and the only place they grow is on a certain mountain. I haven't really had the chance to go looking for this mountain so this dish is probably going to be one I'll never perfect." He continued as I swallowed the last of his dish. I shrugged at him and hopped off the counter.
"Eh, that's okay. Not many people know about that fish anyway." I said to him to comfort him.
He smiled at me and cocked his head back towards the couch he and Diana were on at first with the scrolls. "Come on, you need to re-brief me on our mission." He said with a hop in his step. He, Diana and I walked over to the couch, Diana and me taking a certain side to sit on, me on his left and her on his right. I was confused as to why she was over here. Maybe I should ask.
"Yo, why is she over here? This is our mission." I stated in a matter-of-fact tone slash question.
"It is our mission. OUR meaning you, me and Diana." He stated and that bucked me to no end.
"Nuh uh, no way. Why the fuck is she included?" I stated in a frustrated voice. This shit wasn't fair. Then he started to laugh and held up his hands in a false innocence type of way.
"Calm down man, it was a joke. She over here for the map, to help cross reference with her knowledge of lunar temple locations." He responded. I calmed down right away relieved that it was a joke.
"Fuck, don't freak me out like that. Sheesh. Okay, so here's what I got…" I went on to explain that we were going to a neighboring village that the league had under its protection in a way without having any guards there. This meant that if they needed our help we would give it to them without a second guess. No one knows but the Elders and the Master why we guard them but we do. So they've requested for someone to come by and speak with the 'ghosts' they think are coming from the mountain to poison their water stream with a green liquid which they've observed making an animal with an injury drink, fall to the ground dead. I further went on to tell that when they left and came back to bury the creature or use what they could, the body was gone, like the liquid had made the body just disappear. I wrapped it up but saying the Elder of the village knows of us coming and we are to wait outside the village at the designated spot for him or her to reach to us with further explanation.
"Wait, only the Elder of the village knows about us?" Fox asked.
I nodded in confirmation. "Yup."
"So is this kind of a stealth mission? Are we not supposed to be seen by the other villagers?"
"Noooope." I answered again.
"Uhm…how far back is this village as of technology?" He asked.
"Bows and arrows. They only know of magic through their Elder who is all knowing to them." I responded, explaining this to him more and more.
His eyebrows shot up in surprise, which was expected. "Are you serious? How does a village like that even exist in this world?" He asked baffled.
"Easily. There are a lot of places where we haven't really explored or spread our knowledge too. Why? Because we have to think about how they would take it, duh. The League isn't all conquering, it cares about all life. Why do you think they'll take any form of a champion as long as their intentions at the League are good?" I asked to him and he just held up his hands in confusion.
"The fuck if I know. Whatever, you seem like you've got everything figured out so when we leave tomorrow, that's when I'll start my worries." He said while rolling up the scroll he had and closed his books that were open. He then sat back, kicked his feet up onto the table and relaxed. I kicked back as well and we stayed like this for a couple of hours it seemed before Fox started humming that tune from the time we were with him at the hospital. It was so calming and it made me really tired. Before I knew it, I drifted off into my numbing sleep, the darkness before my dreams consuming me until I woke up ready to take off with Fox on our mission together.
This was going to be one fucking awesome mission, especially since this was the first real lead I had towards find what happened to the land walker that Nami has been searching for this whole time.

After I fell asleep next to Fizz on the couch and Diana watched over me I think, I was alone in the darkness of my mind yet again. Gods this was getting old. Maybe I should train a bit before I wake up. I pulled forth my thoughts and memories so that I could start practicing moves again. Once they all appeared I started going through the motions of moves I had started to get rusty on. That's right! The Willful Power! I forgot about that. Just like that, as soon as I recalled it being there, it was there. I felt it flow into me but I wanted it to have an actual form here so I made it into a weapon. Since I didn't actually have my weapon here I thought back to when I was attacked by those masked fuckers and almost killed. I remember how easy it was to use Yasuo's sword so I came up with an idea. I started to put it into practice by calling the Willful Power to my hand, feeling warmth come from it. This shocked me since I wasn't familiar with it but I'll come to know more about it later.
I concentrated the power into a physical ball and the power started to change into that focus point of the object, shaping itself into a ball. It didn't get to the actual final shape of a ball, since it only looked circular, there were still waves of the aura floating about the focused point but I was getting somewhere. I called forth some of my true power but that only made the aura shift back outwards and away from the focal point so I sent the power away, giving more room to the Willful Power. There was really no way to get the willful power to get even close to my summoner power. I couldn't give up though, so I continued to focus as much as I could with the willful power into becoming a full, actual ball of energy in my mind. I got really, really close to doing just that but was stopped when my memories began to flashing past me at an incredible speed which was the sign that I was waking up again.
My eyes shot open and I was being lightly shook by Fizz on my left arm to wake up.
"Come on dude, let's go. Gotta get a head start if we want to get their a little bit early." He said. I looked around to see my other champions had still been asleep, except for Sona, whom was in the kitchen making what smelled like tea. I turned back to the window to see Rengar on the porch again, tail swaying from side to side looking into the mountains. The way the light was hitting him, the sun was just peeking itself over the horizon through grey clouds so it didn't actually show itself, only gave off the slight illumination of its bright light. I rubbed my eyes from waking up so suddenly and rocked myself onto my feet. Looking around to see Aatrox sitting at one of the tables on the balcony near Rengar reading a book. I walked out towards them while Fizz moved over to his staff that was leaning against the wall near the hall to their rooms.
"I'll grab my stuff real quick after I talk to them okay?" I said to Fizz and he didn't even turn towards me, just picked up his staff with a yawn and moved towards his room giving me a wave of acknowledgement. I reached up to scratch the back of my head, sliding open the door to the balcony. Aatrox looked up from his ready and Rengar turned towards me, giving a bow once he saw that it was me.
"Good morning Fox." Aatrox said. Rengar brought his right hand up to his chest, bowed once more then let his hand fall back to his side.
"Good morning young hunter."
I smiled at how courteous he was being towards me but remembered why it was I came out to these two.
"Okay you two, while I'm on my mission with Fizz, I want you two to keep the others up and going with their training. Increase the laps and sit ups so that by the time I get back, they're not complaining too much when I tell them they have to run 30 laps and do 70 pushups and sit ups. Can you do it?"
Without hesitating, Aatrox and Rengar nodded in earnest and harmony.
"It'll be done summoner." Said Aatrox. Rengar nodded as well, with a grin that erased all doubts that they might not get the rest of them to the endurance level I wanted them on. I nodded at them and turned around, heading towards my room to gather the small amount of things I'll be taking with me. I found on my bed a new bag that was really nice, a messenger's bag actually. The material was nice and sturdy so it didn't feel like it was going to tear anytime soon. It was a dark red maroon color, like my jacket when I went to the day of binding. The one I'm sure is destroyed now because of that fight I had with those masked fucks. The design was simple yet again, only having one set of markings on it with a black color which turned gold in the right color. It was a design of vines making their way up from the base of the bag to the handle that leads to the strap that goes around the shoulder. Then on the strap there were runes glowing a deep blue with a light that gave off the feeling of life. Where the hell were they getting this cool shit? I slipped the strap over myself so that it rested on my right shoulder. I adjusted the bag so that it was just over my left ass cheek. I opened it to find some easy to change into clothes, along with a couple of health potions and mana potions. I walked out of the room, grabbing my jacket that was made for me by the noxian woman. Fizz and Sona noticed this and implied towards it.
"Not gonna take your jacket we all had made for you? I thought that's what showed you as your own True Summoner?" asked Fizz.
"Nah, this is a stealth mission. Don't really need it since we won't really be recognized by the village, just its Elder." I explained shortly to him. He nodded to himself and continued to adjust his cloak he had on. Wait, what the hell?
'He's going to explain, give him a minute.' Said Sona to me. I waited a bit and he continued to play with it, finishing up the straps around his neck. I observed the cloak and its features impressed with them.
It was a plain dark grey with a huge hood. The hood seemed to be big enough to cover his entire head and give it more of a dark eerie look when the shadows would cover his face. It ran itself all the way down to his feet, leaving enough room so as to not touch the ground but to not give too much detail on them. There were more straps along the edge of the cloak where he could strap it closed to hide any details about his body from others, near his chest. This was actually a really nice look on him, made him look really mysterious and he didn't even have the hood up yet. I nodded my approval with a smile and slid my own jacket on, after lifting up the strap of my new bag.
"Looking good there Fizz." I said to him. He looked up to me with his own smile and pointed at Sona.
"Yeah I know. She helped me pick both of them out." He said.
I was confused. "Both?" I asked to have him explain further.
He kept pointing at Sona's direction, so I looked at her to see exactly what Fizz was wearing except it was to my size with a few more straps on it as well. There were no arm sleeves in either of the cloaks, so they were meant to cover up anything we were wearing with ease. A huge smile made itself at home on my face as I looked over the awesome new cloak.
"Ooooh, hell yeah." I said out loud, making my way to her to put on the cloak. As I thought, it fit with ease sliding right over my clothes and closing itself to too much detail as I closed the straps near my neck. They rested easily together with the buttons like two people hugging. I felt the hoods weight on my back but it wasn't that big of a deal. I turned around to Sona, thanking her for her great taste in clothing. I turned back around to Fizz who was securing his own bag which was similar to mine, only difference was that it was a backpack with one strap coming out of one corner of each side.
"Yeah, they are pretty badass. Alright, ready to head out?" He asked and I pulled out my orb to check the time before we left. As the time came up, my eye lids grew heavy as I saw how early it really was. Six O' Clock in the fucking morning? This is stupid, I haven't woken up this early in a long time. Ugh! Stupid Fish.
"Yeah yeah…let's just go…"I said. At that we headed out, giving off a small goodbye to Sona as the door closed behind us. When we left the elevator and reached the lobby downstairs, crossing it was quiet and unsettling. There was almost no one down here. We made our way outside the Institute quickly and past the gates the courtyard quickly as well. As we continued to walk our path towards the Village to get final information to complete the job, I looked over my left shoulder at the Institute as the morning moved on, making itself try to wake up into the day. The clouds though showed that it was going to rain, but the fierce smell of water in the air made me know it was going to storm. Guess it was a good thing that we headed out earlier in the day. Hope we can avoid this rain and stay ahead of it.
We had been walking on the small road for a while, the sky getting darker and darker as the storm seemed to catch up to Fizz and I. We turned off the road though and started heading in towards the mountains, the climb looking steep. As the wind started to pick up the more we climbed, I pulled up my hood, seeing Fizz in front of me do the same. We didn't talk much since we were focused on getting to where we needed to go. The hours of the day crept by as we finally found a cove in the mountain pass we entered not long ago, that was a small shortcut to get to this village. After we took shelter, not 5 minutes later had the rain started slamming into the ground almost with a purpose to rip it apart. Fizz made a small dugout in the ground, placing some branches and logs we gathered from a couple of dead trees we passed on our way here. I said the runes to the spell 'ignite', lighting the wood fire to give us warmth. I pulled up my summoners orb to check the time and saw that it was already the end of the day.
"Man, eight thirty already? Time sure flies when you're on a mission." I said while putting the orb away. Fizz just starred at the fire, its flames illuminating his face with a dim. The fire wasn't that strong since I didn't make it that strong but it gave us the heat we needed. His face was almost lifeless as he watching the fire dance to its own song.
"Yeah, it does." He said with almost no emotion. Alright, I needed to get why he was so depressed right now, it wasn't like him.
"Yo, you okay?" I asked. Fizz shook his head while blinking a few times and gave me a smile that came from nowhere like one of Twisted Fates tricks.
"Yup. Never been better." He said, leaving a silence after that. I let it hang there while I searched his eyes for an answer only to find that there must've been something he wanted to say.
"Okay…well, while were here, why don't you tell me why you're so interested in finding this rumored lunar temple?" I asked straight forward. His smile turned into a line as he looked back at me, his eyes now showing what I was looking for and hoped wasn't there. Sadness.
"Sure. Well, you know Nami? The Tide Caller?" He asked me. I nodded in response as she was a support I've used before to try out the roll. "Well, when she became a part of the League, she and I became good friends after a couple of summoners did a troll lane at bot. Sure we got our asses beat but man did we give them a hard time. They had to gank our lane so much just because Tristana and Soraka couldn't secure kills for their team with us moving around so much." He told the memory with chuckles the more he went on.
"Anyway, it was a game that started a great friendship between her and I. We hang out a lot, used to eat together a lot and whenever we were in a match together, we just about put teams down from her crowd control and my burst. It was awesome. The more stuff we did together, the more I learned about her. Then one day she just up and disappeared for like, two weeks and I thought she just quit the League. Then she showed back up but she was different than before she left. She was gloomy and sad. The reason behind this as that she had heard a rumor about why she was hear and went to go investigate only to come across a dead end." He explained but paused for a moment, looking into the fire still. The rain was still hitting the ground hard as I waited for him to continue.
"It was that day that I finally got all of her story, why she was here at the League and all that stuff. After she explained to me about the land walker and her people and how she was supposed to get this moonstone, I couldn't help but feel her pain. It was something I kinda already went through myself." He continued and was about to keep going but I had to stop him to get an explanation.
"Wait, wait, what do you mean you kinda already went through it?" I pointed out showing that I didn't really know his past either.
"Oh, my bad. Uhm, one day I went outside of my underwater city to just, you know, fuck around. Cause fuck enclosed spaces right?" He said.
"Man am I on you with that."
"Thank you! Anyway, when I came back, everyone was gone and I mean everyone. I was gone for a day Fox. A DAY. And all of my civilization just disappears? No clues, no traces, nothing. So I looked around to see if there was anyone but nope. All I found was my trident and my best friend chump."
"So they're just gone? Like that?" I asked. He nodded with a deep sadness in his eyes.
"Yeah…just like that."
"Man, I'm sorry Fizz…"
"No no…" He stated while shaking his head. "No, at least I know what you kinda feel like. You woke up with no one, not really knowing if you should feel abandoned or alone and hopeless…" His voice trailed off with sobbing entering his voice. I stood up and made my way to sit next to him quickly.
"Yeah but that's what makes it easier…that uncertainty that I might have been alone the whole time. I don't know your pain of being abandoned the way you were." I looked down at him, seeing tears fill up to the brim in his eyes.
"What was so wrong about going out and having fun, huh?" He said, the sadness clear and cracking his voice. "Why didn't they want me Fox…?" After he said that, the tears broke free of their cage to fall down his face. At that, I reached around him and embraced him to let him know that I was here for him. I hugged him tightly, feeling him wrap his arms around me as much as they could. I couldn't hear his cries through the rain but I'm glad I couldn't because it would've broken my hear more than it already was for him since I could feel his cries on my chest.
We stayed like this for a while and I just let him get it all out. It must've been a good hour before he calmed down enough along with the rain which was now just falling to the earth instead of ripping into it. He finally pulled himself away from my chest, keeping his eyes averted probably embarrassed that he just did that but he shouldn't be. He's had a rough past.
"Thanks man…" He said simply. I nodded once bringing a small smile to my face.
"Don't worry about it. Go ahead and finish your story."
He wiped under his eyes, then did as I suggested, looking back into the fire. "As I was saying, the pain she was about to experience was kinda like what I had already gone through and since she was one of my few friends at the League, I didn't want her to go through what I did. So I made a promise to her. That I would find the moonstone so that she could trade me the pearl and save her people…" He finished up. I pieced together his story and this mission and it hit me like a delayed booby trap.
"You're seeing if there's any info on the moonstone at this lunar temple?" I asked as a closed question just to confirm a thought but Fizz stayed silent. "Wait…if not info then…whoa you thing the moonstone is going to actually BE in the lunar temple?" At this accusation he looked up at me with a determined face, one that I hadn't seen him wear before.
"I won't break my promise to her Fox. This is the strongest lead I've had in a long time." He kept his faced of determination on and all I could do was smile at it.
"Then let's hope the lunar temple is actually there." I said trying to ease up the mood more. Fizz just kept staring at the fire, picking up his staff to hold it again. I looked at it while he pulled out a cloth from his bag which I hadn't seen him use before, and began to clean the shaft. I laughed to myself.
"Mmmm, yeah. Clean that shaft." I said, to which Fizz stopped what he was doing to look at me slowly. He finally fully turned his head to look at me with the straightest face I've ever seen him display.
"…What?" He questioned to which I repeated myself.
"Clean….that….shaft?"
He kept the straight face but shook his head while muttering. "Gaaaaay."
"Ha ha, come on, it was a joke not a dick, don't take it so hard."
I head a stifle of laughter from him as he continued to polish his staff.
"Ah? Ah? I heard that chuckle."
He rolled his eyes and stabbed the staff into the ground. He then jumped to his feet pulling down his hood. He walked back out into the pass without being pestered by rain looking to his right in the direction we should be going, the sun peeking through the deep clouds. The light hit his face so it looked like an inspirational poster the position he was in. I took the mental picture in my mind as one I could keep as long as my mind allowed me too. After a moment, Fizz turned back to look at me with a smile on his face, while I stood up to give him one final hug to end this moment. He watched me walk to him then crouch down to be almost eye level with him.
"Thanks again Fox." He said simply, holding out his fist. "Usque in Finem."
I smiled at him, holding out my fist to touch his as a symbol of our friendship, meeting his saying. "Usque in Finem."
As our fists made contact, the pull was instant as it had been with Sona, Ahri and Diana. We appeared into the abyss but it wasn't white this time, it was deep blue like the ocean at certain depths. I felt our minds sync together, his thoughts melding with mine, suddenly I could see through his eyes as he could see through mine. This was stronger than the ladies syncing bond with a stronger pull at my chest. The aura was brighter between us as well which made me wonder if this was because of my other synced bonds. We were suddenly yanked back into reality, our hands returning to their respective person and side, our irises a deep blue but changing different shades like the ocean in lighter parts.
"Holy shit…so this is what it was like for them?" He asked. I forgot he wasn't used to this feeling like I was no.
"GAH!" He yelled.
"What?" I freaked out yelling back.
"I heard that thought! Oh gods this is sweet!"
I chuckled at his enthusiasm and gave him a quick motion to do. He quickly ran at me, jumping towards me at which I ducked and he jumped up towards my shoulders that were lowered. As soon as his foot made contact, I thrust upwards in a fast motion to my standing position and he flipped off my shoulder at the peak, landing at his staff, rolling with the momentum, grabbing the staff and finishing in a battle ready position. After he finished the motion, I smiled at him over my shoulder to which he laughed a loud long laugh.
"That was just…so cool! You made that motion so quickly and it was just like, like instinct to do it and it was so easy and just so fuckin awesome! I love having our minds in sync!" He exclaimed. I watched him cheer and laughed with him feeling his joy.
"Makes fight a whole lot easier. Since it stopped raining, think we can make it too our point to meet the Elder tonight?" I asked.
Fizz calmed his laughter nodding at me. "Oh yeah. We should be there within the next hour."
"Then let's go." I said. I dispelled the ignite leaving the dead, charred wood in its place. Fizz hurried to continue leading us to our final destination. I wasn't keeping track of time really but the clouds kept hanging in the air about ready to rain again. The smell of another good storm was in the air as well. After the pass in the mountain, we arrived into a densely forested area still following the dirt path. After a while and a few more plans just in case a villager did see us, we came to a hill that had a lone building on it. I observed it as it stood proud and dark, no lights or signs of keeping the building in top shape with plants growing all over it. It was crumbling in certain areas as well but it still looked structurally stable. We walked past it slightly, to see that it was overlooking a small village with about 15 to 25 wooden and stone houses. They were seriously this far back in modern buildings?
"They take their time finding and adapting to new building styles. This type of construction is fairly new to them, adapted in the past hundred years. This church was made to worship the gods and their messengers. As soon as the League was established and it started looking for champions over all of Runeterra, we came upon them, the Elder approaching us with the knowledge of our intentions already and asking us to leave their peaceful way of life out of their doings. It agreed and asked if they would like us to aid them whenever they wanted us to, which the Elder agreed was okay but only to come into contact with the Elder. We've held this promise with them ever since." Fizz explained after hearing my thoughts.
I nodded, understanding him and looked down towards the village, noticing that our eyes were still glowing. The wind was picking up along with rain starting to fall so we brought our hoods to their fullest potential covering our faces and leaving room in front so as to not get it wet if it was a straight downpour without wind blowing it towards us. The wind was blowing to our lefts making our cloaks move with it at its command like a soldier obeyed a command. I crossed my arms, looked down to Fizz and asked my final question.
"So how long do we wait here for the Elder?"
Fizz stabbed the end of his staff into the ground, still holding onto it, looking up to me, the shadows cover his face fully. The glow of his deep blue irises gave him the most effective mysterious aura that even since I knew him, it still gave me shivers.
"Until midnight. That was the requested time of arrival for us. If I guessed right, we should only have to wait for about half an hour." He told me. He turned to look back at the village like a guardian, while I pulled out my summoners orb to check the time. 11:32. about right on the mark. Nice. I sent it back to its mysterious pocket and folded my arms again, watching over the village as well for any signs of life. The village was dark, except for the biggest out of them all which sat in the middle of them all.
Time flew by as we watched for anyone heading towards the hill and then we saw the light to the one house go out. It stayed dark in the town now for a few moments, then a smaller light, like a lantern, bobbed its way through the streets. It moved at a slow pace but it didn't matter to either Fizz or I since we could feel each other's hearts speeding up with excitement. It took a little while for the light to climb the hill but as it approached us, we kept our cool seeing the outline of a lone figure also in a cloak which blew with the wind as ours but didn't hide the face of the old woman. I looked over to Fizz quickly but he kept his eyes on the woman, so I did the same keeping my stance as he did.
The figure stopped a few feet in front of us, eyes searching us with interest.
"You are from the League I presume." The croaked voice asked.
I nodded keeping eye contact with her. "We are. We came to aid you as you requested."
She nodded and smiled, looking back to her village then back to us. "Good. Because the people have started asking questions they shouldn't ask."
I squinted a bit at her, a little confused. "What questions?"
What she said next sent chills of both fear and excitement up and down my spine, words that I will always remember.
"They have started to ask why the Lunari have come back from the dead."
-Final Notes
Thanks for the wait guys, I apologize for the slight delay. My word subscription ran dry for word so I had to wait for next paycheck in order to renew it. Now that I've got my shtuuuuuuuf complete, paid for, and brand spankin new, I can continue to give you guys the story you actually want to read. Or so I'm told. Excellent feedback from you guys on my chapters. I've had a couple of people ask me why my fanfic is called 'Blades of Lunester' at which I answer this question with another question. Are you finding the hints I'm leaving in my chapters? If not, I've dropped a pretty big one this chapter but I won't say where. To those that have, I'm glad you are excellent puzzle solvers and congratz! :D
Someone also mentioned that Foxes Love life seems to take one step forward and two steps back, which will also be answered in the next couple of chapters with a slight hint to that questions answer in this chapter. Look for the hints people! There's a reason that the cake is a lie!
I'm still looking for that beta reader so if I asked this before and you've responded with an offer, hit me up again and I will check you out and get back to you on it. Loving the love you guys give me and the support, it really has boosted the motivation for this chapter and the next which is already well underway.
Now, as for the song you should listen to after reading this chapter, search for is "Strangers" By: Seven Lions. Where you should listen to this is when Fox and Fizz are walking through the forest up the mountain, the rain falling behind them and their hoods up. The wind is blowing their cloaks to the side but not like a cape. WAIT! EXACTLY LIKE A CAPE! GUYS! IN MY HEAD IT'S SO BADASS! Hope it looks as cool to you as well.
Anyway, last thing, is fan-art. Still lookin for the first piece and waiting hopefully. See you all next chapter. :D
