Chapter 11: The mock battles
-Fox
As we approached the main courtyard of the Institute, more and more summoners looked towards Fizz and I. I don't know if it was the way we presented ourselves or with the way we looked but they just about watched us like we weren't supposed to be here. I looked back at a few of them, seeing what I could in their facial expressions. I walked past the water fountain feeling a draw to the water it contained do to the moonstone. I could feel its power surging and wanting to be used, but I had to hold off trying not to use it since it wasn't mine to use. I felt a tug on the cloak I wore that Fizz had gotten for us, making me look down at him.
"Wassup?" I asked towards him. He smiled, jittery with anticipation of getting Nami and making the trade as soon as possible.
"Hey, I'm gonna go find Nami. You wait here okay?"
I raised an eyebrow, the corner of my mouth cocking up a bit into a twisted smirk. "Uhm, why not just go together?"
He smirked and motioned at all the people around us. "Let me list off the reasons real quick. One, we need an audience, two you've got a great source of water right there, three to show some of the common people on daily business your new power with me so that we can get your title changed. Duh. C'mon, keep up with me." He said as he dashed off towards the doors into the Institute. I would've called after him but I just kinda gave up looking back at the water fountain and taking a seat on its edge. I looked down at the Lunabelle in my hands, appreciating its beauty once again.
The enclosed petals really did look silver, like the flower absorbed the fullness of the moon, which it actually did. One thing I did notice that I hadn't before was that, the single thin blue lines that went from the core of the flower out to the edges of the petals, they were glowing in a pulsing manner. I continued to stare at the gorgeous flower until a heard a couple of gasps come from my right along with the sensation of watchful eyes. I looked up and around to my left slowly. There were two summoners, traditional, looking at me with curious eyes. I raised my eyebrows in a surprised manner at them.
"What?" I called out. They just pointed at my ass and shook my head in a confused manner.
"You want a picture of it or something?" I asked sarcastically. They nodded eagerly and started pulling out their summoner orbs which I didn't think they'd do. So I quickly looked at my ass to see if there was anything on it. What I saw shocked me to no end, the water had begun to bend itself to me, slowly crawling up the barrier of the fountain and up my clothing. When the fuck did that happen?! I looked back at the summoners then at the water again, shooing it away and making it go back into the fountain. I then shot back facing forward, eyes wide, not quite ready to show this new power that I'm guessing I wouldn't have for long after the trade. I then remembered the summoners and looked back over at them with an angry glare.
"You will tell no one of my watery ass. Got it?" I said with the most intimidating voice that I could. They put their summoner orbs away in a hurry and nodded at me, then moved on. I watched them leave then looked around my left side again to see if anyone else had seen what they did. I snapped my head to the right only to see a group of like, ten people taking pictures of me. I looked at them all, just to roll my eyes and look back at the doors, waiting for Fizz to come back out with Nami. As I continued to wait, more and more people gathered around me, talking and whispering amongst themselves trying to act like they weren't here to see some new power but gods damn they were being obvious.
Maybe I should try connecting with my champions while I was waiting, get them down here to help pass the time. I thought about Sona and our connection since the Willful Power was getting more powerful as I sat here.
'Heeeeeelloooooooo? Calling out to Sona? Can you hear my thoughts?' I waited a bit for my thoughts to be answered, when it came quickly. I heard a kind of gasp in my head.
'Fox? Are you back already?!' Came the smooth and calm voice of my support champion. I smiled nodding to myself.
'Yeah. I'm waiting down in the courtyard for Nami and Fizz.' I said first thing that came to my head.
'Really? Why are you waiting for them?' She responded.
'There's something I need to do with here and Fizz needs to be present. Hey, are you with everyone else?' I asked so that I didn't have to make connections with Diana and Ahri to find everyone.
'Yeah, we are. We hardly leave this room for some reason but yes, we are all hear summoner.'
'Good. Tell them all to come down to the courtyard outside. I'm at the fountain and when Nami gets here, I've got something to show you all.'
'Understood summoner. We'll be down there shortly.' She said then went quiet, which I expected. It was maybe ten seconds before I heard another familiar voice in my head.
'Fox?!' Screamed Ahri in a high pitched voice.
'Please don't scream in my head. It is so loud.' I said with an annoyed voice but happy as well.
'Gah! I'm sorry it's just I've been waiting so long to see you!'
'Ahri….it's been like, 15 hours." I thought with a droopy face on even though she couldn't see it. Still felt appropriate to give it.
'14 hours too long Fox!'
I rolled my eyes at her drama. 'Drama queen.' I was expecting Diana to make a connection with me but didn't get one before seeing Fizz finally pulling on Nami's hand in a hasty way.
"C'mon Nami! Tell those waves to move you faster already!" I heard him saying with an extremely happy voice. I chuckled a bit because from my view it looked like a kid pulling on their parents hand to see a toy they wanted.
"I'm kind of tired from my match today Fizz, this is as fast as I can move!" She said with a smile still on her face. Guess they were actually good friends. I put my flower down at the base of the fountain because I knew I was going to be bending the water. The closer Nami got, the more of a pull I got from the stone under my shirt. I could almost physically feel the aura running rampant on my skin. They took their last few steps or in Nami's case, a few more surfs or whatever, then Fizz stopped pulling on her. Her let go of her hand then held out his to tell her to stay there.
"Okay, now you remember my promise I made to you?" He asked towards her. I took off my messenger's bag, setting that gently next to the flower moving to start removing my cloak as well.
"Yeah? Why?" She asked in a kind of now scarred tone. Fizz broke out in a huge smile then looked back at me, then back to her. As I was unbuckling the last buckle near my collarbone, I met Nami's eyes and jerked my head up in a greeting.
"Sup Nami." I said. She raised an eyebrow, or did the motion for it while looking me up and down.
"Hey Summoner Fox…" She let her voice fall off while looking at my new clothes it seemed. I finished undoing my cloak and pulled it off, setting it next to my bag in a messy manner. Then I just stood there, indicating for Fizz to do the same then come stand in front of me.
"Well," He started to say while tossing me his trident and undoing his cloak in a messy manner. I caught it in my right hand and did my twirling motion so that the prongs of the trident were facing the ground, with the end of the staff against my back. "today is the day that I keep it and complete it." He finished while throwing his cloak somewhat next to mine. He then jogged over to be in front of me, holding his hand towards my neck. Nami followed it, squinting a bit to get a more narrow view of what was under my new armor. I looked down, still forgetting that it was underneath it then moved to pull it out. As I grasped the chain that it was on, pulling it from its hiding place, it started to glow. I looked up at Nami to see her reaction, to which it was of complete shock. She had no words as her mouth started to fall open and her eyes began to water which was hard to tell.
"Is that….really it?" She asked, her words quiet and pulled back as if she was finding it hard to believe what she was seeing. I nodded at her with a faint smile on my lips.
"We went through hell to find it but…we did." I responded. Fizz was agreeing with me eagerly and huge smile on his face.
"Oh yeah, we had to-"He started to explain but I immediately told him to make up a story in his head. We couldn't reveal to everyone that the Lunari had survived or else the Solarians will come to us demanding that we help them find the last of them. This is a secret for us and Diana. He looked back at me, his smile wavered down into a disappointed line but he agreed to it.
'Yes summoner.' He shared with me in my head. He then turned back to Nami to continue on with his now false explanation.
"We had to uh, search under some ruins about a day's journey from here. It wasn't easy at all with all the traps and such but, we found it." Nami didn't seem to notice or care that he kinda stopped in the middle of his story to look at me and change it. She just moved a bit closer with her waves, moving her left hand towards me. I pulled the stone back a bit and at this she stopped in place, pulling her hand back as well with a pain distorted face.
"What're you doing Fox?" She asked. I smiled, keeping my eyes on her while telling Fizz to fist bump me, explaining my plan to him in my head, one that should get me a new title instead of this stupid one.
'Haha, yeah it is pretty retarded.' Fizz said.
'Hey! We heard that you overgrown seafood!' Yelled Diana in our head. I chuckled a bit at her reaction cause they were seriously the best sometimes.
'Yeah? You were meant to you depressing emo.' Said Fizz again, poking at her sensitive areas.
'What did you just say?!' She retorted in an angry voice.
'Oh man, why don't we just add deaf to that unattractive list?' Fizz continued to go on. He was almost having a chuckling fit while messing with her.
'THAT'S IT YOU STUPID FISH! IM MAKING IT SO THAT YOU NEVER EXISTED IN THE LEAGUE!' She yelled out again in our heads.
'Good attitude. You should do the same for your dumbass jokes.' He said to her lastly before I held out my fist to him so that we could fully sync. I cut off my other champions so that Fizz and I could focus. As he reached his fist up to mine, as we touched, our minds became one reality as to which I was already used to. I felt the power begin to build up, but it felt a little different than before. I didn't pull his words of power forth, I just let the power continue to build itself until it was ready to burst. We sit there for a moment as our senses continued to enhance with our power, then the words were there, ready to be said. My eyes shot open along with Fizz's and my voice began to speak the words as they flowed out.
"Fizz, Jester of the Tides, I call you to my side and your power so that we may surf the waves of power to destroy our enemies. Come Forth and answer my call!" I said with a new voice that was more commanding than it had been. Our power exploded outwards physically with a type of misty fog that dissipated itself after expanded. Not sure what color our irises were glowing but I'm sure they were, Fizz spun his trident above himself, then stabbing it into the ground with the prongs in the stones of the courtyard. The anti-gravity effect started, making my clothes start to rise upwards along with the wind effect making them move very fast as well. Fizz's hair tentacles did the same along with my own hair as the power continued to rise.
"I hear your call summoner and shall bear the weight of the depths of the ocean to protect you." Fizz said, thus giving another explosion of our power. This new limit was incredible, it just kept going and I didn't feel any pain like I had before. I felt the pull of the water in the fountain behind me and reaching my hands back, letting the moonstone fall to my collarbone again, pulled the water to me. I felt it obey as the water began rushing up my arms to my shoulders. The water started to come to my chest but I pulled it off to hover and gather itself in front of me. After the water had become a good size I brought my hands back to my front so I could bend it more freely. My hands coming to each side of the ball, my fingertips inching themselves closer to the waters' surface, I bended the water to compress until it could no more, then threw my hands out to their full extent so the ball of water now bended out in five different directions. After that, I watched it stretch out further and further until I deemed it a good length at which I then moved my arms slowly to point towards Nami, bending the waters will to flow to her. She was speechless for the process at which I just did but as soon as the water was around her, she twirled her staff in a very skilled way so that I no longer controlled it around her and she was commanding it. I let her do it while calling forth more water from the fountain, starting our dance with the smooth element, telling the new water I had summand to flow around Fizz. I let the water scoop underneath him at which he let it sweep him, then kicked off of it onto the shaft of his trident and back onto the other side of the water so that he was surfing it. He made it seem so easy but that was because he and I were of one mind and moving together like we had been bound for years.
I threw the water that Fizz was surfing on at Nami, seeing an opening in her dance with the flow of water so that it was just adding on. Fizz wasn't really needed for this dance but since he was such an important friend with Nami, neither her or I cared. I pulled more water from the fountain, bending it while I twirled and imitated the dance that Nami was doing. I stepped closer to her with our dance as she moved closer as well, the water each of us were bending was speeding up along with keeping its smoothness. We did our final movements and ended up facing each other, her right hand thrust out towards me with her staff's head at my chest which was now glowing brightly from the moonstone. I was holding out my right hand as well with something new in it, which was new. I observed what it was seeing a new weapon there, a blade that I had never seen before.
The blade was about four and a half feet long without a guard separating the handle from the material of the blade itself. Instead, there was a design dictating where the handle itself was. From what I could tell, the handle was laced with grooves that were small but symbolized waves. They bended themselves into a newborn wave that was rising itself above the surface of the cutting edge of the blade. The blade went out a little, maybe three inches before bending downwards into a long groove until the tip of the material. The sharp edge of the blade was a shining white while the rest of it was a pulsing blue like the shallow shores of the beach. This blade had come from nowhere but it was beautiful. Nami looked at it as well, almost as shocked as me, both of us taking deep and quick breathes since we were a little exhausted from our dance with the water.
"I didn't think I'd ever get to do that." Nami said.
"Yeah well, it wasn't exactly in my life plans but hey, shit happens." I said between breaths. Nami motioned with her head at the moonstone around my neck while staring at it.
"Ready to hand that over?"
"As soon as you hand over the pearl." I said, a smile on my face. "It's only a fair trade."
She gave her own smile and motioned with her head at my chest again. "Look in front of you."
I did as she said, turning my head to look at her staff, ignoring all of its detail and seeing the now brilliantly glowing pink pearl. It had tints of silver in it as well when the light hit it just right making it shine that much more. What was really baffling me though was the fact that the pearl was just floating there. I mean, we live in a world of magic, yeah but this was weird…whatever, this was the pearl that was supposed to be traded. I pulled the moonstone from around my neck, a bit sad to depart with it but I still commanded water to my left hand, having it embrace the stone, then after it made a nice bubble around it, I pushed the water towards Nami, to which she twisted her staff so the pearl was floating in front of me with a small plate of water under it to keep it afloat. I reached out with my left hand to take it, feeling its cool surface on my fingertips. I plucked it from its watery domain to replace it into its new one. Then there was a new type of feeling from the pearl. I pulled back my left hand so that the pearl was closer to my face. Why? No idea, it just felt like I needed to pull it to my face. I then felt another pull from my right arm, at which I didn't disobey and moved the pearl towards my shoulder. I looked at my shoulder then, putting the pearl into my palm and maneuvering the shoulder armor piece out of the way and annoyingly pulling my under clothing up to reveal my entire arm. Gods this was more annoying than Diana's jokes.
After I finally got the clothe moved up past my shoulder, I put the pearl back in between my thumb, forefinger and middle finger to place it just shy of the edge of my full moon portion of the tattoo. As it touched my skin, it started to glow an even brighter color, also adding in a burning pain. Like it was burning my flesh from me. Holy shit this was really starting to hurt! I let the pearl go and continued to watch with pain as the pearl bit into my soft flesh, burning away what it needed to without remorse and stop itself halfway so that it still protruded from my shoulder. The pain started to subside while around the pearl, it made a silverfish blue tint aura, ripple over the moon portion of the tattoo and give it an essence of glowing. It was immediately cool then, and making the moon now have a bit of color to it. I looked at the water floating around Nami and cast my hand out to it, feeling a smaller pull from it compared to the moonstone. The water jet to my hand, wrapping around my arm in a line, one end at the pearl and the other to the tip of my hand which was still holding the new blade.
"How did you…why did you…?" Nami stuttered as the moonstone became enclosed into her palm. Fizz nodded, a smirk on his lips and hands on his hips with his staff standing erect next to him.
"Can't find the words? Yeah, he tends to have that effect on people." Said Fizz. I finally brought my arm back to my side, having yet another instinct with the water. I let the water fall to the ground to form a smooth pool of water. I then let the blade go into the water, it catching itself at the tip so that it balanced without my aid, then began to sink into the water. After it was lost to the unfound depths, the water climbed its way back up my arm and to the pearl, disappearing into its beauty for my command when I would need it. I brought my arm up to my face so I could see if there was anything new with the tattoo now but as far as I could tell, there was nothing. I flexed my arm once then let it rest, gazing around us for the first time. The crowd had their summoner orbs out and were taking pictures and videos probably. I found my champions at a section of the crowd behind Nami. They all had on faces of bewilderedness which made me chuckle, but Diana's face held the most confused it seemed. I could see her eyes darting around me, most likely observing my new armor.
"So, now that the trade is done, you gonna go back to your home?" I asked while taking steps towards her and my champions. She was enticed with looking at the moonstone, which she was looking for, for so long and nodded.
"Yeah. I need to go make sure they are guarded from the dangers I know are stalking them." She responded. As I walked passed her, I patted her right shoulder once then moved onto my champions. They still had on faces of fascination, but it was more of a happy fascination now. Fizz was following me but we stopped as we were called out to.
"Fox!" Said a voice from behind us. I stopped and turned to see Nami facing me. I looked her up and down real quick then met with her eyes as they gazed at me. She then bowed quickly and held herself there. "Thank you land walker…may you prosper and know that the Marai people shall forever be indebted to you."
I smiled at her formality and decided to respond in kind. I bowed my own head to hold it there, coming up with something to say back. I saw Fizz do the same, while seeing Yasuo step next to him and bow as well. Then Aatrox next to him, then heard someone step to my right. I looked over to see Diana bow too, then Sona next to her, then Ahri, then Rengar's presence was behind me. I looked back to see him bowing his head as well but he had his right hand over his left peck. I smiled again at the motion my champions were doing, then turned back to Nami to see her looking at us all. I bowed once more, closing my eyes and finally coming up with something clever and somewhat official to say.
"If I were the landwalker, I would be honored, but I am just the messenger. I am still honored to have been acknowledged by the Marai and I too, shall be in debt to them." After I said this, I brought myself back up, along with my champions but Nami held on a face of confusion.
"I don't understand…how are you in debt to me and my people?" She asked. I just held my fixed gaze on her with a smirk on my lips.
"I'm sure I'll find out." I said, then I turned back towards the institute, with Rengar stepping aside, I walked towards it. I could feel my champions following me as I entered into the main lobby which had a crowd of people and summoners near a board with several names on it. They were looking at me as I walked towards the elevators, holding still almost like I couldn't see them or what they were doing. I knew though that they were making bets on the mock battles that were coming up for True Summoners and silver and up rankers. I winked at them then turned my attention back to looking like a badass while walking towards the elevators. Just as I reached them, turning back around to wait for my champions inside the elevator, I heard the people start to attack the guy that was taking the bets. After my champions were all in, I pressed the button of my floor, having the doors close quickly then reopen in a couple of seconds with a new hallway in front of us.
As I stepped out, I felt Rangar step past me and start walking towards our room. I started following in his wake but after my first step, there was a huge burden of exhaustion in me, cause me to just fall forward. It was like there was a huge weight on my shoulders, pushing me to the ground which I knew was my body telling me I had pushed it too far today. My calves screamed out in a bit of pain, my eyelids feeling heavy, I couldn't muster up the energy to even try to stop myself from falling but I felt something catch me before I came even close to hitting the ground. I couldn't tell who it was but they smelled nice. I couldn't resist the call to sleep anymore so I gave into the darkness and the want of my body to rest.
Hope that was a good enough display to everyone and the people to give me a new title.
-Yasuo
After Diana had caught Fox from falling flat on his face again, Fizz stumbled like Fox had. We all reacted a bit worried towards him and Fox but Fizz just chuckled, catching himself with his staff and holding out his right hand to us to calm down.
"What's wrong with you and Fox?" I asked, a bit worried still from the sudden falling of our summoner.
"Don't worry about it. You have no idea how much mana Fox and I just used. I gave him so much and yet he still collapsed? Pfft. What a pansy." Said Fizz with a grin on his face. He had caught himself on his staff but was starting to fall over again only to have Sona quickly catch him. She quickly scooped him up into her arms and started to make her way to our room. We followed her actions while I looked over to see that Ahri had taken a shoulder along with Diana to help her carry Fox. He was still breathing, which was a good sign.
I stepped in front of everyone with the card to our room, sliding it over the familiar surface and hearing the gears turn as they always did. The locks undid themselves, opening the door and allowing us to enter. I moved aside for Sona and the girls to bring in Fox. After everyone had entered the room, Aatrox had the door close behind him. I watched as Sona placed Fizz onto the sofa gently, while I took his staff from him to lay it on the ground. He nodded his thanks to me with a smile. I returned the nod then turned around to see Diana and Ahri just unlock Fox's room and take him in. I unhooked my blade, placing it next to Fox's room. I observed the room one more time, seeing Rengar make his way to the balcony as he did every evening while Aatrox found a scroll and followed Rengar. Sona had retrieved a blanket from somewhere and was placing it onto Fizz.
"You mind telling us just what exactly that was down there?" I asked, wanting a lot of answers for very few puzzling questions. Fizz turned to look over at me, that irritating face he had on just before he struck at my intelligence with his witty remarks.
"What do you mean?" Was all he said.
"I mean the dance he performed with Lady Nami. How is it that he can now command the element of water?" I defined my questions further. He gave that motion of raising an eyebrow if he had them.
"That, is something I can't really tell you guys just yet. Why don't we just wait for our summoner to explain? With both of our viewpoints and experiences, we'll be able to give ya a better explanation." Said Fizz. He then closed his eyes and fell to sleep, most likely from exhaustion. I rubbed my eyes from sheer frustration since I'd have to wait for gods know how long. I looked back at Fox's door to his room with anticipation.
How the hell did Fox know how to do a dance that only my Elders knew how to do?
-Sona
After I watched Fizz close his eyes and heard Yasuo sigh, I stood back up and walked over to Fox's room. I needed to help Fox rest and get his strength back. As I entered the room, I was kind of prepared for what was inside but it still bugged me beyond belief. Diana and Ahri were both glaring at each other, while Fox laid between them, mouth ajar and looking just adorable. Ahri's ears were perked backwards in a menacing way and I knew that was her look of determination.
"He needs to be resting Diana and since I have the deepest bond with him, I should be the one to care for him!" Ahri was saying, continuing a conversation that I didn't hear the beginning of. Diana gave a face of dis-concern while unbuckling Fox's armor straps of his main piece of chest armor.
"That is a blatant lie. You have the now fourth strongest bond with our summoner. He would laugh at your claim." Stated Diana. As she slipped off the armor piece, she moved to his right gauntlet. I stomped my foot, getting their attention. As they both looked at me, I pointed at myself then at Fox, giving a cradling motion with my arms to tell them I was the one who would take care of him. Diana rolled her eyes then continued to take off his armor. Ahri was about to protest but I held up my hand to stop her. She halted mid-sentence then I pointed at the door. Ahri gave up with a sigh, her tails showing that she was extremely saddened at my objections and orders. Before she left through the door, she looked back at Diana with a look of protest. I motioned for her to get Diana out of the room as well so I could solely focus on Fox and I being alone and getting him his strength back. She gave a smirk and walked towards her quickly, her eye color changing into a quick pink tint, then back to its regular color showing that she just used charm.
"Diana, why don't we leave our dear summoner be and go do something…else?" She said. Diana slowed her actions down extremely then stopped all together, giving her focus to Ahri.
"Why….why would we do…that?" Diana asked. I moved to Fox's side, seeing his armor now on the floor next to the bed. He now just wore his pants that he had on without a shirt present. When did Diana take that off and why? Was she looking for injuries? Diana had moved to stand and was now walking with Ahri towards the door, still a little hooked onto Fox.
"We need to go check up on more important men. Don't you agree?" Asked Ahri again, her tails now closing in around Diana to embrace her. Diana's head nodded slowly while taking one of Ahri's hands gently while being led by her. As they left the room, the door closed behind them at which I heard the familiar locks put themselves into place. I sighed then looked down at my summoner.
My heart began to speed up as I looked at the muscle tone of his body, seeing just how fit he had become since we were bound to him. I don't think I've ever seen him without any clothing but this was new. I've seen so many other male summoners without shirts and yes, they also gave me a strange sensation inside my chest but not like this. I recognized this feeling from when my previously bound summoner had shown me herself. We had decided to bathe together and I was a bit nervous but as soon as I saw her without anything on, completely exposed as the day she had been born, I felt at ease and selfish. I wanted to be the only one to see her like this, not anyone else. I recognized it as selfishness the day I came in on her and another male summoner having intimate feelings. I found myself angry at the summoner but not mine. It was and still is strange.
Now, looking over Fox's upper body, I began to run my right hand over the small scars he had over his skin. They were a lot on his right shoulder but the one that really drew my attention was the large and almost bulging one just underneath his right collarbone. I had seen this mark before, it was one that showed the body had been stabbed deeply, but not all the way through. As I kept observing his scars, I hadn't noticed that I was face to face with him, my hair falling over his rising and falling chest, my lips inches from his and giving me the temptation to close the gap. His breathe was sweet, smelling like the mana potions champions would drink on occasion. Then there was a sudden touch to the skin on my right arm, gentle but shocking. The feeling took me out of the movement of kissing my summoner by taking my attention elsewhere. It was Fox's left hand, gently clasping onto me like the firmness yet soft touch of a child. I looked back at Fox to see his eyes just barely open but gazing at me with tiredness. I searched them for words but found none so I called out to him in our minds.
'Where does it hurt Fox?' I asked almost in a whisper in our minds. He didn't respond, just slipped his hand from my arm to my side, giving a slight pull towards him not really demanding me to come but asking calmly. I didn't really understand why but I brought myself forward so that I was laid next to him. His arm had wrapped itself around me as I laid on top of it and he pulled himself to nuzzle his head just above my chest. I felt his hairs brushing against my lips and it was such a weird feeling but one that I gladly accepted. I placed my right hand onto his head softly to hold him as much as I could but felt a small sensation where his face was. It was very soft to my skin and a bit wet which I soon recognized as his lips kissing my skin. I hadn't really felt this type of affection before, I mean, it was offered but the summoners didn't mean anything to me. I didn't feel any kind of attraction or pull to them as I do for Fox.
I bent my left leg so that it was upright and Fox just ran his right hand down my side slowly and to the outside of my leg which gave me chills and felt amazing. He stopped at my mid-thigh, giving a squeeze which added to the sensation of pleasure I was feeling.
'It doesn't hurt anywhere…not while I'm with you.' I heard him say to me. I ran my left hand up his arm slowly and hesitantly, a bit shocked from the way he was acting towards me but accepting it fully. As my hand reached his face, I used it to pull it up to look at me. I needed to feel his lips on mine, I couldn't resist him anymore. His peaceful face turned to look at me, his eyes slightly ajar and calm but meeting mine with intent. I pulled him in while doing the same for myself. At last, I felt his warm, moist and sweet lips mold with mine as they met for the first time. My heart beating faster and faster as my lungs demanded I take another breath but refused to leave his lips. After gods only know how long, Fox pulled his lips away from mine, taking a quick and shaky breath as I did the same, sliding my thumb over the corner of his mouth.
The room around us disappeared and brought us to the familiar white oblivion we had seen on the day we had first been bound. As Fox and I continued to look into each other's eyes, not caring what was happening around us. Then there was a feeling of power coming from somewhere around us which commanded Fox and I to observe it. I looked behind him to see a blank figure standing there with its hands behind its back just looking at us. I looked back at Fox to see if he too was looking at the figure but his attention was behind me. I turned to see, only to see a massive collection of green aura.
'What….what is that?' I thought out towards Fox, seeing if he had any idea. There was no response at first but then there was a rumbling sound that took my attention back to the figure that stood behind Fox, whom was now asleep it seemed. 'Fox?' I asked towards him.
'He cannot hear you at the moment, Envy.' Spoke a deep voice that was unknown to me. It shocked me since I jumped a little only to look at the direction it came from, being the figure standing there from us. 'I have made our conversation secret to him. Now listen to my words.' It said towards me. It didn't seem to speak the words they just appeared since its mouth didn't move. What is this thing?
'I am something you do not truly know of yet but we shall get back to that in a moment. As I said before, you should listen to my words Envy.' Spoke out the figure again. I gripped Fox wherever I could, holding him close to protect him from whatever this thing was.
'Then speak your words and leave my summoner be.' I said in as much of an intimidating voice that I could.
'You and he are close but not nearly as close as you need to be for the events that shall soon take place.' The figure said. My face twisted into one of confusion at the mention of upcoming events.
'What events do you speak of?' I asked the figure.
'Ones that will test him of his nature. Ones that will push him to the brink of his will and ones that shall break him, shattering his very self to reveal a harder shell of what he is to be.' Riddled the figure.
'What? His nature? I don't understand.' I said blatantly.
'Then you do not see him for who he has been. When you find him standing alone, Envy, just ask yourself where you'll be.' The figure stopped speaking at that moment, giving a slight pause to its words. I brought my brow together in anger and confusion wanting it to stop with the puzzling words and get to its point.
'Where I'll be for what?'
'For the end of Fox, and the rise of the Keeper.' After the figure said that, the deep rumbling began again, memories and reality rushing back to us. The figure started to disappear and so did my answers for the new questions I had.
'Who are you?!' I asked over the rising sound of the rumbling.
"The Keeper." Said the figure in Fox's voice but it was overlapped with another voice that I had never heard before, as it echoed. Then the figure was gone and Fox and I were back in his darkened room, both of us breathing heavily but Fox was sweating. Was I just talking with Fox's consciousness as it explained things that he felt were going to happen or… what the hell did I just speak with?
And why the hell was it calling me by the name no one knew of yet?
-Fox
My eyes shot open, seeing that I was in my room alone. I looked around to see if I was actually alone and I was, nothing but the light of the moon from the holograms on my wall depicting my favorite night time scene. I sat up slowly, feeling my strength coming back but not fully there yet. I brought my right hand up to my head feeling a bit of pain wondering why it had hurt so much, then I remembered that Sona was here for me and we had deepened our bond yet again after kissing. I looked down at my chest after feeling that it was bear, the small breeze in my room from the ventilation system. I looked at my various scars, including the one that was on my right collar reminding me of the people who did it to me.
I shook my head of those days, knowing I'd get my chance to get them back soon. I slipped my legs over the side of the bed, standing up and moving over to the door feeling hungry all of a sudden. I undid the lock that was there, hearing the usual gears move their way then opening the door. The scene before me was a strange one. All my champions were together, talking among themselves. They hadn't noticed me yet somehow so I cast ghost quickly to hide myself and hear what they were speaking so quietly about. As the door to my room closed behind me it made a slight noise as it always did making my champions turn towards the door way, only to see nothing.
"What the hell?" asked Fizz, doing the motion for raising an eyebrow. I moved away from the door slowly, repositioning myself so that if any of them came close to the door to inspect it they didn't run into me.
"Hmmm…Rengar, can you still smell Fox?" Asked Yasuo. Rengar nodded while crossing his arms.
"Indeed I can. His scent is a bit stronger but it's there all the same. Must be something faulty with the door. Continue young huntresses. We would like to know more of this hidden being." Said Rengar. Hidden being? What the hell are they talking about?
"Well, it seems that only Sona and I have seen or talked to this being but were pretty sure he's going to talk to you guys too at some point." Explained Ahri. Sona tapped her on the shoulder and made some motions that I couldn't read with her but Ahri understood her by nodding and stroking one of her tails.
"So it seems that once Sona and I reached a certain level of our bonds, he talked to us." Ahri spoke for Sona.
"It just talked to you?" Asked Diana.
"What did it talk to you about?" Asked Fizz as a follow up question. Ahri just shook her head quickly at them.
"It wasn't really a two way conversation and now that I think about it, it wasn't really talking, it was more like warnings about stuff to come or whatever." Explained Ahri further. Stuff to come? Who are they talking about? Someone's been watching my champions and me so that they could track our bindings or what? I took a step closer as light as I could so as to not make any noise. The floor slightly creaked, just barely audible, but it cause Ahri and Rengar's ears to twitch towards my direction. They both looked at each other, then in my direction. I froze as they searched the empty space of where I was, at least to their eyes for now. The rest of my champions looked at the two as they searched where I was, questioning their distraction.
"Uh, guys? You alright?" Asked Fizz, mostly looking at Ahri. Ahri squinted, still trying to see what she only heard, then nodding her head.
"Yeah, I mean, I thought I heard a footstep from over there but, I can't smell anything foreign. All I smell is Fox and you guys so…it's nothing." Ahri said, turning her head to look back at Fizz and the others. Diana had her left hand on her chin, seeming to be pondering something.
"Wait, Fizz and I are both bonded with him on a pretty deep level, so why hasn't this being come to us? Just how deep of a bond do you two have with our summoner?" Asked Diana. She looked from Sona and Ahri, as they both avoided the eye contact each of my champions was trying to get. They all looked confused as to why those two were acting that way, except for Fizz whom had crossed his arms with both corners of his mouth curving up into a sinister smirk.
"I know how far ahead Ahri is." He simply stated. Oh Gods no Fizz, please don't use that information as leverage. Please Gods please…Ahri's head snapped to look at him, her face being beat red from either embarrassment or something of the same thing.
"You don't know shit…" She stated, seeming to not believe him. There was a hint of uncertainty in her voice since she didn't want what he said to be true. Fizz just glanced at her from the corner of his eyes, his smirk getting bigger.
"Wanna bet? Fox and I had a lot of time to talk on our walk back sweet stuff. So yeah, I know some shit." He said through his teeth with evil backing up his words like crystals did for modern currency. Ahri, whose face just continued to get more and more red, glared at Fizz, taking him on mentally and challenging him of his knowledge of what happened between her and I. Fizz, seriously don't do what I think you're gonna do.
"….I'm calling bullshit on you fish sticks." Ahri said. I had just noticed that my other champions were looking back and forth between the two just as the words left each of their mouths, waiting for the reaction of the other. Fizz's face was actually hilarious since it went from smirking straight to a face of irritation. His eyes half closed and mouth in a bold line.
He then pointed at Ahri and blurted out what I told him happened in secret between Ahri and I. "She fucked Fox!" He said in an obnoxiously loud voice. Ahri's ears shot back, her tails puffing up and eyes wide from shock. Sona shot a quick wide eyed look of shock at Ahri along with Diana.
It was quiet for a good moment which had me a little worried, but Diana was the one who broke it thankfully since it was becoming uncomfortable really fast. "You WHAT?!"
Ahri looked around the room shyly, then back to Fizz. "You little shit!"
He returned an angry glare that was also one that showed amusement. "You started it with that stupid 'Fish sticks' shit." He shot back at her.
"I didn't think you ACTUALLY knew what happened!"
"Well no shit! Otherwise, you wouldn't have invoked me to share with the rest of the group!"
"Gods you're such a prick!"
"WAIT A MINUTE!" Yelled Diana at the two, halting their banter of accusations. They looked away angrily and at Diana since she demanded their attention.
"What is it, Diana?" Asked Aatrox who hadn't said a word this entire time and that I had now just noticed extremely close to me. He had his arms crossed and focus on what was happening with the group. Diana looked at Fizz and Ahri, then at Sona.
"If Ahri has had sexual relations with our summoner and bonded deeper with him that way, having the being show itself to her, then how has Sona seen the being as well?" She let it trail off, slowly looking at Sona as the silence went on. Fizz just looked at her trying to find the answer that he already knew was there.
"Oh….oh Sona no." He started saying, his smirk from before returning quickly as his words crept out of his mouth. Sona didn't make eye contact with anyone, she just kept looking at the floor, her cheeks flushing to an extreme extent. "Oh, ho ho ho hooooooo, no. Sona, you did not." Fizz continued, a quick laugh between some of the no's. I can't believe this is all coming out so fast. I wanted to let them all know here and there to take away from some of the shock but good gods, Fizz just didn't know when to keep his fucking mouth shut.
"There's no way…you didn't have the time to go that far." Said Ahri, her face of irritation and anger returning just as quickly as Fizz's playful banter face. Sona finally looked up to them, shaking her head no, then bringing her right hand up and touching her lips gently, giving off the motion of kissing.
"OH MY GODS, NO FUCKING WAAAAAAAY!" said Fizz. He pointed at Yasuo, his smile now huge and bolstering on his face. "You lost both of those bets bitch! You owe me later!" I looked over at Yasuo along with a couple of other glances as he cursed under his breath. It was then that Rengar roared a gentle roar for the room to quiet down. Everyone, despite the multiple feelings of the room, went silent and waited for him to speak.
"Enough of this non-sense. I wish to know more of this being that haunts our summoner." He explained. After he had said that, Aatrox stepped forward to back him up.
"I agree, we need to confirm the facts that we know about this being. Ahri, you said that you and Sona had completed a drawing of what you think the being looked like? May we see it?" Asked Aatrox. Drawing? They drew what this being looked like? I eagerly observed Aatrox, watching his footstep and took mine when he took his so to cover any sound mine would make. Sona reached for a book she had hidden beside her that I was a little strange since I hadn't noticed it till now. She flipped between the pages, showing that she had already drawn things before it, finally landing on a page with a single figure on it. She turned it towards Rengar, Aatrox, Yasuo and me, which had shown what I didn't even come close to thinking as to what they were talking about.
It was the man that had told me my hardships or whatever was practice for what was coming. So it wasn't a manifestation of my consciousness? It was something that was talking to my champions? What the fuck is going on. I took a couple of steps back from the shock and accidentally brushed against my pack that I took with me on my journey with Fizz. This time Rengar, Ahri, Yasuo and Aatrox all turned to look towards my direction. Yasuo took a step towards my door drawing his blade and holding it in a defensive way, while Rengar unlatched his double daggers on his left gauntlet and beginning to growl. Ahri rose to her feet, summoning her ball of essence and Aatrox merely clenched his fists. I froze for a moment, wondering what they would do.
"Reveal yourself slowly, before I do it for you, hidden coward." Said Rengar with a growl. I looked from all of them, those four only showing awareness of my presence, while the other three looked at the others in confusion. I sighed lightly and stood up straight, whispering the runes for ghost and letting the spell end. I came into view and heard just about everyone make a small gasping noise.
"Fox? When the hell did you…?" Asked Fizz looking from my door to me. I looked over at Yasuo to see him sheathe his blade, Rengar putting his dagger type prongs back away, Ahri letting her orb of essence sink back into oblivion or wherever she kept it while Aatrox just put his hands at his sides while bowing his head towards me.
"Good afternoon summoner. We are glad to see that you have recovered." He said. I nodded towards the picture that had been drawn, motioning for it to be shown again. Ahri and Sona both looked at it with worried faces then back to me.
"How long ago was it when you saw that….that thing?" I asked them. Ahri's ears went down a bit but I don't know why.
"I saw him on our ride home from Piltover. It was after you collapsed when we reached our limit from calling forth my Words of Power." She said. I looked at Sona, then established our link so I could hear her response.
'And you?' I asked her. She did the same as Ahri, kinda looking like she let me down. I just wanted to know who this guy was, it's not like my champions were trying to de-sync with me behind my back.
'I met him just after we kissed.' She said simply. I brought my hand up to my chin, thinking about what this thing could want with me and my champions. So he really does appear when I reach a certain point in our bonding level…why? What does this thing know that I don't? I looked back up to Sona and Ahri ready to ask just a couple more questions.
"So when it appeared, what did it say to you guys?" I asked. Ahri's ears went back to the way they usually are and began stroking one of her tails again as it moved itself in front of her.
"He just kinda warned me on how I talk to you or something like that." She said. I shook my head from disbelief.
"HE?" I asked with heavy emphasis on the gender she just gave it. Ahri looked at Sona then back to me, nodding.
"Yeah. Both Sona and I get the feeling that whoever appeared to us through you was a man. His voice sure sounded sexy like one." Ahri replied. My eyes went wide at the fact that Ahri just said this thing was sexy. She looked at me weird since I was giving her the expression. "What?" She asked seeming to not really be sure as to what was the problem.
"Did you really just call the thing sexy?" I asked. Ahri glanced at everyone quickly then looked back to me.
"Uh, yah. You kidding me? If you heard this guy, oh man. Goosebumps." Ahri said, showing a literal shake from her head to the tips of her tails. Fizz chuckled and looked over towards me.
"If I have to get to that level of intimacy with you Fox, I'd rather pass." He said. I looked over to him and nodded.
"Oh I agree. But I don't think that matters to whoever this person is. They," I continued to say.
"He." Ahri interrupted me. I glared at her quickly then continued.
"He, seems to be just waiting until a certain bond level between me and my champions…soooo…possibly when you guys have a certain level of trust in me, he'll show himself to you." I said while motioning towards Fizz, Rengar, Aatrox and Yasuo. They all nodded in understanding and to which I took the chance to just wrap up this topic by pulling out my summoners orb and looking at the time.
"Whoa, I've still got some time. Sweet." I put the orb back away into its mysterious pocket somewhere on my person, then moved towards my room. I could still train today since the mock battles were really close.
"What have you still got time for summoner?" called out Diana's voice. After I did the quick hand swipe to my room, the door slid open with barely any sound. I looked around for my effects, seeing them next to my bed in an orderly fashion and walked over to pick them up.
"For some last minute training." I called back out to her. I picked up my blade and sash, putting them on comfortably where they usually rested, then walked back out of my room, locking my bedroom door behind me. I tapped Yasuo's shoulder signing for him to come with, at which he seemed to understand since he was right on my heels.
"Last minute training? Training for what?" Asked Aatrox.
"And why does Yasuo get to spar with you again?!" Called out Fizz. I stopped at the main doors to our home and turned around. Looking at all of them, I wanted to keep this simple.
"Well, the "Official" Mock Battles among true summoners is coming up next week, so I need to do some training if I aim to win." I explained to them. Aatrox and Diana looked a little confused.
"Mock Battles? What are those for?" Asked Aatrox. I was going to answer but Fizz's hand shot into the air.
"Oh! Ooh! Lemme tell em!" He shouted towards me. I smiled and leaned against the doors, crossing my arms and motioning for him to go ahead. He did a quick fist pump then jumped onto the top of the couch to get a higher view and get to eye level with most of the other champions.
"Okay, so, it all started just after I got here, some of the True Summoners wanted to see how far the other True Summoners had gotten in their bindings and see where they should be in theirs. It was all really just a bunch of sparring matches but as the years went on and more True Summoners were found, it became a competition and rankings started to be given. Now, it's almost a mandatory thing and has become sort of a tournament with bets, prizes, celebrations, all the works." Fizz explained quite well.
"Hmm. That sounds like fun. What're the prizes then?" Asked Yasuo. I smirked here since this is where the 'catch' to the Mock Battles was. Fizz seemed too noticed since his face turned to one of annoyance.
"That's the thing. Only the True Summoners know what it is, but every year it changes. Not a single champion could figure out what it was and we still can't. They like, make a vow to not tell a soul or something." Explained Fizz further. I chuckled at this, throwing a wink towards Fizz. "You know what it is this year, don't you?" I nodded slowly, pushing off the door and turning to open it.
"Well, I better go train. C'mon Yas." I called out, opening the door and walking into the hall. Fizz called out to me just as I took a couple of steps. I turned to see him and the others looking at me curiously.
"What's the prize this year Fox? Can't you just tell us?" I smirked again then turned back to walk the rest of the way down the hall.
"Just know that it's a good prize since I'm going to be hard at work training all this week." I called back.
They just didn't know that I was really going to need it.
-Final Notes
So so so sorry about the long wait for this chapter. Had most of it written before the game Destiny came out, and once it did, this story just came to a complete halt. I remembered about it when I had seen some more people had followed me and the story one day and I was like "Oh yeah. I wonder how many views I've got now that it's been like a whole fucking month." So I pulled the story back up, saw where I was and was like, Damn I was this close? Might as well finish this bitch and keep the story goin. I also looked at the views and Good God.
Australia. What. The. Fuck? 40,000 views within two days? Holy shit, what did my story do to get so much attention down there? I was freaking out, wondering if I had gotten like an ad or something on the site recommending my story to those who like to read LoL fan fiction. I'm still at a loss for words, still not knowing why my story got soooooo popular down there. I'm not kidding guys, it got that many views in that short of a time period. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate how many views I've got, I just want to know why and how I got that many so fast.
Anyway, thanks again to all those that are truly sticking with this story even if it's going this slow. I appreciate people saying they'd recommend it to others and that really helped me want to write this story. Well, before Destiny came out. Now that I'm like, max level, I'm going to write 3k words or so a day for the next chapter, so I can get it out to you guys.
Throw me a review for this chapter, let me know how I did. To be honest, this chapter feels a little light on the story but it's been so long since I've updated that I needed to get it out for you guys.
If you guys have any suggestions on how I can keep your attention on the story or on how I should keep you guys interested, let me know in a message. I respond to everyone that writes to me.
Last thing, the song for this chapter is "Spirit of Life" By Blackmills. It's for the scene where Fox and Nami were doing the dance in the courtyard. Beautiful song and just absolutely fits the scene. Love the love, and I can't wait to see some more reviews.
Peace my peeps.
