Kyra looked down in worry. Her health was beginning to recover but she was very scared. Her mother had brought a healer to treat her and had given them news that could mean the end of Kyra and Boromir's relationship. She hoped Boromir would come and see her. They needed to talk about this.

Kyra hoped Boromir would come. He had gotten sick and stayed away for a few days. She hoped he had recovered.

Faramir frowned as Boromir bundled up in warm clothes. Boromir had recovered a day ago and wanted to go back to Kyra.

"Brother, I wish you would stay", Faramir said. "You need to regain your strength."

"I have regained my strength", Boromir said. "I need to see Kyra and see how she is."

Faramir looked down. It was typical of Boromir to put Kyra before anything else, even his own health. Faramir wanted him to stay home until he was fully healthy.

"Brother, when you come back, will you get some rest?" he asked.

"Of course", Boromir answered.

"Boromir, I'm serious", Faramir said. "You're giving all your attention to Kyra and hardly any to yourself. That attention you give her has gotten you sick. What if you grow too careless? Father will find out."

"Let him", Boromir said. "I do not care. I am a man. I can choose what to do with my life."

He pushed past Faramir and walked out the door. Faramir sighed. Boromir was growing way too careless. If Denethor found out, Boromir and Kyra would be punished severely.

Boromir knocked on the shutters to Kyra's bedroom. He wondered if she was back in good health. He certainly hoped so. The snow was coming down hard in the city and the wind was blowing hard. Boromir shivered as he knocked again.

"Kyra, open up", he whispered.

He heard the latch open the lock and came face to face with Kyra as she gave a weak smile.

"Boromir, you came."

"Of course I came", Boromir said climbing through the window. "Why would I not?"

"How are you feeling?" Kyra asked as she felt his forehead. "Are you in good health?"

"Yes, and what of your health?"

He watched as her smile disappeared. She looked away as she sat down.

"I have to tell you something", she said quietly. "Today my mother sent for a healer to treat me."

Boromir started getting scared. It was never a good thing when one had to see a healer. Was Kyra sick with something serious? Was she dying?

"Is it serious?" he asked.

Kyra kept her eyes down as she nodded.

"Kyra, please do not tell me you're dying", Boromir said with fear in his eyes. I do not think I can handle this news. I do not know what I would do without you."

"Boromir…"

She gently placed her hand on his cheek. She needed him to calm down. Kyra couldn't have Boromir panic and cry over her news.

"Boromir, I'm not dying", she said. "The healer came and treated my illness. Boromir, my love, I am with child."
