Chapter Thirty: Anville Town Chaos

Chapter Thirty! Yay! I'm in science class right now, and my teacher is talking to the class about Barney and Scooby-Doo :P

Icirrus City, Lake Clearing

The rebellion was outside under the cloudy sky near the lake. Angel was sitting on a table while Tails fixed her eye.

"All done," he said, a screwdriver in his hand. Although it was very realistic, Angel's eye was now metal and the iris was green.

"Thanks, Tails," Angel said, jumping off the table.

"No problem," he replied. "Sorry I had to work with parts from a machine that looked like it was built by a two year old," he said while glaring at Doofenshmirtz.

"Hey!" Doofenshmirtz yelled, automatically getting defensive. "You're one to talk."

"Will the two of you stop?!" Ash asked. "I'm in much worse shape than her. My eye should be fixed too!"

"Sorry, Ash," Brock said, going through Ash's medical files. "Your blood type is O, and no one else here has the same type. It looks like I can't do anything."

"Karma 1, Ash 0," Gwen said with a smirk. Ash was ready to scream, but she continued. "And screaming at karma won't get you anywhere unless your name is Earl."

"But still," Ash said. "Why does she get the cool metal eye built by him?! It probably has freakin GPS or something."

"Does it?" Angel asked.

"…Maybe," Tails replied after a few seconds. "As long as we're talking about what it does…" he turned and pointed to a tree. "Stare at this tree."

"What?" Angel asked, confused.

"Just do it," Tails said.

"Okay…" Angel said skeptically. She stared at the tree for a few seconds, feeling energy heat up behind her new eye. Within a few minutes a laser came from it, causing the tree to burst in to flames.

"What?!" Ash exclaimed.

"Nice," Angel said with a smile as she watched the tree burn down. She high-fived her boyfriend. "I'm impressed, Tails."

"That's not all I did," Tails said. "Watch this." He took out his emerald radar and pressed a button. A few seconds later, a ringing sound came from Angel's pocket. She reached in to it, taking out a small remote. She pressed on of the buttons, causing a holographic screen to come from her eye. It was displayed in the air in front of everyone.

"Skype…that's amazing," Angel said. "How'd you do it?"

"It wasn't really that hard," Tails said sheepishly. "But now you can communicate from where ever you are!"

Ash groaned. "So she gets to be a freakin cyborg, and I get nothing?!"

"Yup," Angel said with a smirk. "An eye for an eye, Ash. Gwen's right- it's karma." She walked away, leaving Ash to boil.

"What karma?!" he exploded. "I haven't done anything! I made a stupid mistake! I'm a ten-year-old! It's what we do!"

"No, it's what some of us ten-year-olds do," Angel corrected him. "And you do it much more frequently than anyone else."

"Whatever," Ash said.

Icirrus City, Unknown Forest Area

"Where are we headed, anyway?" Amy asked. The rebellion was walking through a dense forest area.

"We're cutting through the woods toward Anville Town," Zoey replied. "After that's the Capitol. This place is gonna have tons of Peacekeepers, so watch your step."

"Did you say THE Anville Town?!" Cilan asked excitedly.

"Oh no," Iris mumbled.

"Yes!" Cilan exclaimed. "Anville Town, the home of the subway trains! As a metro connoisseur I-" he was cut off when a rock hit him in the head.

"Sorry, I was getting bored," Peter said. He threw another rock at Cilan's head, making him fall. "I'm still bored."

"He's like Sheldon but more annoying and not as smart," Amy whispered to Tails. He nodded in agreement.

"Shh," Zoey said. Everyone stopped, concealed in the bushes. Before them stood a small town filled with railroad tracks. There was a turntable in the center of town, a small subway car on it. Above the main track was a bridge where a young girl played the flute. Other than that the place seemed deserted.

"I thought you said there would be a ton of Peacekeeprs," Brian whispered to Zoey. "From the looks of it there's no one even here."

"Oh trust me, they're around," Zoey said, scanning the area. "There!" she shouted, pointing to a tree. She took out her gun and shot one of the branches. A small security camera fell on to the ground. She stomped on it a few times, making sure it was dead.

"Wow," Tails said, picking up the remains of the camera. "I knew the government had a bunch of advanced equipment, but I didn't realize that it was like this."

Zoey nodded. "They've probably already noticed that one of their cameras is out. We need to move." She jumped in to the trees, moving swiftly from branch to branch. The others followed.

A few minutes later the rebels were all under the bridge, hiding in the shadows it casted.

"This is where we split up," Zoey said. "We can't all move at the same time without being noticed-" she stopped when she heard a beeping noise coming from behind. She turned around, only to see a red flashing light on the inner wall of the bridge. "It's a bomb," she said quickly. "Move, move, move!" she exclaimed. The rebels all ran in opposite directions, taking shelter where ever possible. They stayed where they were until the bomb went off, the for a few minutes after.

Angel looked at her surroundings. She had run back to the woods, taking shelter behind a tree. She wiped the dust off her clothes, then started heading back to the wreckage.

"I see you made it. Unfortunately," a voice said from hind her. It was Shadow, who had a smirk on his face. He had been completely unharmed by the explosion.

Angel rolled her eyes. "Ditto," she noticed that there wasn't a speck of dirt on him anywhere. "How'd you get out of there so fast?"

"Chaos Emerald," he replied, tossing the purple emerald in the air and catching it repeatedly. "So where's that damn faker and the rest of you low lives?"

"Hey," Angel said, defending herself. "Without that faker you wouldn't exist. And what do you mean 'the rest'? I'm the ultimate weapon, after all."

"And I'm the ultimate lifeform," Shadow answered immediately. "Together we would have ultimate power, but I don't need some lab rat along side me to achieve it."

"Again. Ditto," Angel replied, crossing her arms.

"Hey!" a voice said from behind them. The two turned around to see it was Sonic. He seemed to be unharmed by the explosion as well.

"Let me guess," Angel said. "Chaos Control."

"Yup," Sonic replied, the white emerald in his hands. "Where's everyone else?"

Angel shrugged. "Don't know, don't care. But what I do know is that I'm not sticking around here." She turned to walk away. "Later, suckers." Shadow teleported away, leaving Sonic all by himself. He looked in the direction that Angel had gone.

"Oh no you don't!" Sonic said. He sped forward to Angel, picking her up by the hood of her sweatshirt.

"Hey, what are you-" she was cut off when Sonic used Chaos Control to teleport them both back to where they were before. She struggled to get out of his grasp. "Put me down you stupid blue hedgehog!"

Sonic dropped her on the ground. "You do realize that I could say the same about you," he commented. "Besides, I have to protect you from whatever crap lives out here."

"Oh, please," Anel said. "I should be the one protecting YOU. You know absolutely nothing about this world. You'd have trouble dealing with the smallest Pidgey."

"Well I don't know about anyone else around here, but I've got a bit of experience dealing with annoying birds," Sonic said. He pointed to a small pink bird-like Pokemon on the ground. It had small wings, big eyes, and a curved beak. "There's one there," he said. He started walking towards it. Angel noticed a pink dust start to form in its beak.

"Look out!" she yelled. She ran up to the bird, then used her metal foot to kick it sky high and out of sight. She blew on her bangs out of her face. "Leave the Dragon killing to the experts," she said as she watched the bird disappear in to the clouds. She look back at Sonic. "See? You were almost taken out by a Spritzee. The fact that it was a fairy-type makes you look pathetic." She heard a ringing sound from her pocket and took out the remote. A holographic screen was projected from her eye. To her surprise, Ash had called using his X-transceiver. "Ugh. What do you want?" she noticed his poisition. "And what're you doing upside down?"

"Ya know, just hanging out," Ash replied. He was wrapped in spider webs and haning from a branch of a tree. "We kinda ran in to some Galvantula-"

"Ew!" a voice screamed from out of the camera's view. It souunded like Misty. "Ash, there's a bug! It's coming closer and closer! It's disgusting!"

"It's just a Sewaddle," Ash said, rolling his eyes. "What do you want me to do about it?"

"Kill it!" she screamed.

"I can't if we don't get out of here!" Ash yelled back. He turned back to the X-transceiver. "Star and Raven can't hold the Galvantula off for very long, Knuckles was dragged off by some Patrat, and Melaney's no help at all. Just get over here and save us already!"

"We're on it!" Sonic replied.

"What?" Angel said. "What do you mean 'we're'? You mean you, right?"

"We'll see you there," Sonic said to the screen. Angel shut it off and glared at him. "What?"

Anville Town, Turntable

Shadow arrived at the turntable within seconds. He looked around. Rouge, Amy, Tails, Brock, and Iris were all watching Cilan obsess over the trains. "What is this idiot doing?" he asked Rouge as Cilan hugged the train.

"Like you said," Rouge replied. "Being an idiot."

"Where's Sonic?!" Amy asked Shadow frantically. "What did you do with him?!"

Shadow crossed his arms. "I left the two stupid blue hedgehogs in the woods."

"What?!" Amy yelled. "You can't leave her with him! I wouldn't trust her-"

"I would," Tails said. The others turned and looked at him. "C'mon, Amy have a little faith. I trust Sonic and Angel with my life, and they haven't let me down and they never will. Sonic and Angel would never hid anything from me."

Shadow and Rouge exchanged glances, but said nothing.

"But Tails!" Amy protested. "You can't say you aren't curious about what they're doing right now."

"At this point they're probably arguing over something extremely irrelevant," Tails said. He couldn't have been anymore right.

Anville Town, Unknown Woods Area

"I told you to leave that Ryhorn alone, but you didn't listen," Angel said to Sonic as they walked through the woods.

"How was I supposed to know that it was gonna move?" Sonic retorted, rubbing his tail. "I feel like I just got rhinoed."

"Hence the key terms 'Ryhorn' and 'Horn Drill'," Angel said with a smirk. She couldn't help but laugh at Sonic's pathetic encounter with the Pokemon. "I hate to say I told you so, but, I told you so."

"Yes, I get it. I'm an idiot who obviously knows nothing about this place. Can we drop the subject?" he asked.

"Nope," Angel said. "I'm gona drag this on as long as possible. I mean, I've seen people make a lot of stupid mistakes with Pokemon, but that was way past dumb. Did you seriously think it was just a rock?"

"It looked like it!" Sonic said, defending himself. "I didn't think it was gonna get up and attack me."

"Either way, you were rhinoed, and I laughed. Maybe coming with you wasn't such a bad idea after all," Angel said.

"I beg to differ," Sonic mumbled.

Anville Town Forest, Galvantula Nest

Melaney and Misty screamed as a Galvantula started crawling towards them. Raven and Starfire used their powers to knock it away. They were all still tied up in webs, hanging upside down as Melaney and Misty continued to scream.

"Stop screaming!" Raven yelled in a demonic voice. "Why don't you make yourself useful Misty and send out a Pokemon to get us out of here!"

Misty struggled to get her hand to her belt. She succeeded, causing a Poke Ball to fall to the ground. "Please be a good Pokemon…"

The Poke Ball on the ground opened up, revealing a small yellow duck-like Pokemon.

"Oh no, not Psyduck!" Misty complained. She watched the Pokemon get a random headache, then faint. "Stupid duck," she mumbled.

Anville Town, Up on the Rooftops

The rest of the rebellion was standing on top of the buildings of Anville Town. The group that was with Cilan at the turntable was there too, but Sonic, Ash and the others were no where to be found.

"I say we leave them out there," Shadow said with a scowl on his face. "They aren't necessary for us to defeat the Capitol."

Tails clenched his fists. "We can't just abandon them."

"I don't see why not," Shadow said, crossing his arms. "I don't see why we need you either."

"What?!" Tails exclaimed in anger.

"All three of you are completely unnecessary here," Shadow continued. "I have the ability to do anything the faker does, but better. The pest that you are being used by-"

"What do you mean 'used by'?" Tails asked, his face burning red.

"Shadow, stop!" Rouge exclaimed.

Shadow continued anyway. "How clueless are you?" he asked Tails. "Only you would have the stupidity to out with her."

"Stop it!" Tails yelled. Unable to hold back any longer, he flew at high speeds toward Shadow. He teleported to another rooftop before Tails could hit him. "Coward," Tails growled.

"Am I the coward?" Shadow asked from the top of a taller building. "You're the one who always stands by and watches Sonic do the work, are you not?" He dodged another one of Tails' attacks, teleporting to a different roof.

"It's not true!" Tails shouted in anger. Shadow raised the emerald to teleport again, but Tails kicked it out of his hands. It fell to the ground below. "Now we have a fair fight," Tails said coldly.

"Hmph," Shadow said. "This fight would never be fair. But that won't stop me from winning." He made a powerpacked punch land in Tails' face, sending him crashing in to the train tracks below. Tails slowly stood up, then used speed to fly up and kick Shadow in the stomach. The hedgehog went back a few feet, but didn't appear to have taken any damage at all. "Pathetic," Shadow said.

Tails took his chance and charged at Shadow. He used his full force to punch, hit and kick him, but Shadow took every attack and wasn't hurt in the slightest bit. Tails fell to his knees in exhaustion, gasping for air.

"Now it's my turn," Shadow said. He gave Tails a hard, sharp kick to the stomach, knocking the wind out of him. Tails clutched his chest, unable to breathe. Shadow grabbed him by the neck and hung him over the edge of the building. Dizzy from lack of oxygen, Tails was unable to break out of his grasp.

"That's enough, Shadow," Zoey commanded. "Put him down now."

Shadow growled. "Fine," he backed up enough so that Tails wouldn't fall to his death, then threw him down at his feet. Amy rushed to his side.

"Are you okay, Tails?" she asked.

"I'm…fine," he winced. He looked up at Shadow, who was staring at him coldly. He still wanted to kill him, but the act of just moving in general hurt. I'll get him, someday.

Anville Town Forest, Galvantula Nest

A few minutes later, Sonic and Angel had arrived at the Galvantula nest. It was a large group of trees covered in spider webs that crackled with electricity. There were a few yellow, pink, and blue spider-like Pokemon. Galvantula.

"Got any info on these Pokemon, Skype?" Sonic joked.

Angel rolled her eyes and smiled. "I always do. Now let's see…Galvantula like to suck electricity-" she stopped when she felt a shock go down her spine. She was being electrocuted.

"What the?" Sonic ran over to her and slapped a small yellow bug off her back, making the electrocution stop immediately. The bug was only four inches in diameter, extremely small for a Pokemon. "That's all?" Sonic said with a laugh. "What's the big deal?"

"I hate to burst your Bubblebeam, but that was just a Joltik," another spark of electricity went through her, despite the offending Pokemon being gone. She groaned. "Galvantula are like ten times bigger."

"How nice," he replied sarcastically. He watched another shock go through her. "Why'd it attack you, anyway?"

"My eye's got electricity in it," she said as she rubbed it. She gasped. "That's it! My eye's got electricity in it! Sonic, you're a genius! Not as genius as Tails obviously, but-"

"Whoa, whoa," Sonic interrupted. "What are you talking about?"

"If we were to use ourselves as bait, the Galvantula would come and take us to Ash and the others!" she explained.

"Don't you mean if you use yourself as bait?" Sonic corrected her.

"What do you mean?" Angel asked suspiciously.

"There's no reason for me to come along," Sonic said with a shrug. "You're the one with the fake eye. You should do it."

"Damn," Angel mumbled, realizing that her plan backfired. "Fine," she said reluctantly. "But make sure you follow me when I get…kidnapped." She hated using that word. It made her feel weak, like Princess Peach.

"No problem," Sonic said, giving her a thumbs up. He sped off in the opposite direction, leaving her by herself.

Angel sighed as she leaned up against a tree. "C'mon you stupid little bugs. I'm right here. All alone. No one else here." She noticed a Poke Ball on the ground. She picked it up. "Is this Pikachu's?" she asked herself outloud. She smiled. "Either way, I know how to use a little Static."

A few miles away, Ash and the otheres were still tied up in webs. Melaney and Misty were still panicking about the bugs.

"I do not understand," Starfire said. 'Why is the Yoshi afraid of the spiders?"

"They're one of the three scariest things in the world!" Melaney exclaimed.

"What're the two other scariest things other than you?" Ash asked.

"There's spiders and escalators and heights!" Melaney screamed. "It's terrifying!"

There was a long awkward silence between the five tied up. Misty was the first to break it. "De ja vu, huh?"

"Yup," Ash said. He heard a sudden rustling noise below them. It was Angel, tied up in webs and being carried by a Galvantula. It dropped her at the foot of the tree,, then crawled away. "What's up, Pixelhead?" Ash asked, looking down at Angel.

"Not much, Patchy," she replied. She looked around. "Where's that stupid hedgehog?"

"I'm looking at her," Ash said.

Angel glared at him. "You know what I meant."

"How'd you get here anyway?" Misty asked.

"Oh yeah, that reminds me," Angel said. She reached into her pocket and tossed the Poke Ball to Ash. His Pikachu caught it. "I used Static."

"Oh…" Ash and Misty said at the same time. The other three were still confused, but went along with it anyway. Angel activated her laser and began to cut through the sticky webs. Within a few minutes, she was free. Sonic showed up a few seconds later.

"Hey," he said.

"Where the hell have you been?" Angel exclaimed. She shot a laser at the webs that held Misty to the branch, causing her to fall on the ground with a thump. Psyduck quacked with a blank look on its face.

"I was looking for you," Sonic replied.

"Well you're not very good at looking for stuff," Angel said. She freed Melaney, Ravenn, and Starfire from their webs. Ash continued to dangle from the air. She began to free Ash, bu she felt a pain go down her arm, causing her to flinch. Ash yelped as the laser hit his foot. "The Chaos Emerald is tingling," she said.

"Are you sure it's not just your spidy senses?" Sonic joked.

"Sonic, I'm serious," Angel said with a straight face. "I think Tails is in trouble."

Anville Town, Up on the Rooftops

Shadow had Tails pinned against the tree and was using Chaos Control to power up his attacks as he beat him. Tails was covered in bruises and barely had the ability to sustain consciousness.

"Stop it, Shadow!" Iris yelled. She started running to the two of them to break up the fight, but Shadow shot a blast of energy at her.

"Don't interfere," he said darkly. He punched Tails again, causig the fox to crumple to the ground in pain. He clenched his fist for another punch, but a blue blur swept his target away before he could attack.

"What are you doing, Tails?" Sonic asked as he carried him away from the fight. "You could've gotten yourself killed!"

"I got mad," Tails said weakly. "He insulted you…Angel too."

Sonic looked back at Shadow who was now arguing with Angel. "I think Angel's got it covered." He stopped and placed Tails on a bench to rest. He looked back again at Angel and Shadow, both in their fighting positions.

The ultimate fight had just begun.
