Zeniba called a meeting of all of Chihiro's friends back at her house, where they wouldn't be interupted. After everyone had arrived at Swamp Bottom and settled in Zeniba took charge. Haku was in the back of the room observing and everyone else just looked confused.
"How much do you remember?" Zeniba asked.
"I can recall all of Chihiro's memories. And many her mind wiped away. I recall her crying in her bassinet for her mother when she was only weeks old, I recall her starting school, moving, and her adventure here. I remember everyone's names and faces. You're Kamajii, you live in the boiler and you were the second Spirit Chihiro met in this world. I'm assuming this is important to you if you left the boiler and effectively shut down the bathhouse. You are Rin, she thinks of you as her best friend here. Zeniba, you're her grandmother. Linnette and Rina, or Misa and Miyaki, yes I know your real names, you protected us after her encounter here I commend you for that. And you're the No-Face she allowed in the bathhouse then saved after you became corrupted."
She looked passed the faces and fixed on one in particular. She locked eyes with him, feeling her body's desire to move towards him. "May we have a minute?" she asked without leaving his gaze.
The other filed out of the room without question. Although Rin was burning to talk to this Spirit that insisted on being called Sen, she knew that Haku needed it too. She would grill her for information later.
"So you remember everyone. We weren't sure you would. There is no precedent for this." Haku said stiffly.
Sen nodded. "I just can't feel emotion. That's a human trait I cannot be allowed to have if I am going to stop this war. Chihiro would have grown a bond with even Yubaba, that could cloud my judgement in battle. I'm sorry." she told him, "I know what you mean to her. She's still here, if it gives you any condolence. She is safe, locked away inside me. Right now, just being around you, is causing her to stir. Her heart is fluttering and..." her cheeks turned red, "She's embarrassed that I told you that. This is wrong. I can feel her...I wonder if I will be able to in battle." she mused to herself.
She was not so distracted that she didn't see the fist coming towards her. She caught his arm easily and flung it back, blocking another and another, on the defensive until she was backed into a wall. The smug look on his face made her blood boil and now she was dealing the blows. She managed to lock onto his arm and fling him onto the floor with a loud crack. She pinned him.
"Can you hear her?" he asked, grunting in pain.
"No. It seems when the adrenaline rises she is either muted or I disconnect from her. She is back now." Sen's eyes went wide and she cleared her throat.
"Kindly get off him please. If you're gonna take my place keep your mitts off Haku. He's mine." Chihiro told her somewhat playfully.
"I didn't...I mean...you can have him! I am a warrior I don't feel affection for anybody."
"Then why are you still straddling him?" Chihiro asked amused. "I thought I was going to be locked away silent. Is this like the Host? Where you can hear me but I can't control my body? Am I a prisoner in my own head?!"
Sen held her head and squeezed her eyes shut. "Ah I don't know!" she rolled off of Haku, "If you would stop thinking so loudly I could concentrate on this! Try to take over my arms."
They stayed in place, even after Sen relaxed.
"I guess I am trapped..."
"Perhaps it's because we are at war. You're having to be constantly on alert. Your adrenaline is running higher than normal but not enough that Chihiro is muted. She just can't have control. Maybe when you sleep?" Zeniba said, they had all walked back in during the fight and when they heard Sen yelling.
"This complicates things." Sen said shaking her head.
"You're telling me? I'm stuck in a Stephanie Meyers novel." Chihiro grumbled.
"But I'm not an alien, and I understand these references." Sen told her.
"But you're supposed to be a fierce warrior, what caused me to stay in you?"
Sen turned to look at Haku. "She was silent before we saw you. Before I woke up, she told you how she felt didn't she?" he nodded, "Her need to stay with you, to assure you that she was still here, it didn't allow her to remain." Sen stiffened. "What was that?"
