Hi guys! I'm so sorry about not being able to write anymore, so I decided to make a final chapter, and then an epilogue. THIS IS THE FINAL CHAPTER!

It was a completely normal Sunday late afternoon for Amu. Lazing around in the dorm, chatting with Utau, reading manga, and basically wasting the day away. Until Amu's phone dings with a new message.

Who could it be? She wonders, ambling over to her phone, a manga still in her hand.

Ikuto: Would you like to go out today? I have something important to tell you.

Surprised, and even a little embarrassed, she begins typing her reply.

Amu: Where do you want to go?

Ikuto: You'll see, it's a surprise ;). Can I come get you now?

A soft giggle escapes from Amu, and her thoughts race of what Ikuto would possibly need to tell her, and for a moment, she thinks he wanted to ask her to be marry her.

Marriage? What is wrong with me! I love him too much for my own good... Besides, I'm only 17! Well, it wouldn't be that unreasonable, since I'll be graduating at the end of this year...

She slips into a girly fantasy, grinning like a lovestruck fool to herself.

Suddenly, Amu sees light blonde hair upon her shoulder. Looking up, Utau stands there, violet eyes dancing in amusement, a smirk playing along her lips. "What are you looking at with that priceless expression on your face?"

"N-Nothing." She tries to stuff her phone into her azure sweatshirt pocket, but Utau snatches the phone away first.

"Utau!" Trying to get her phone back, Amu frantically swipes her hand towards the phone, but Utau easily doges.

While Utau is reading, Amu's phone dings again, and Utau's already grinning face lifts even more as she reads the new message out loud. "Amu? Are you okay?"

She manages to grasp the phone, and pulls it away from Utau, and begins typing a reply.

Amu: Sorry about that. Sure :).

Ikuto's reply doesn't take long.

Ikuto: K. I'll be there in 20 minutes.

20 minutes... Amu thinks. I want to look my best... I'd better hurry!

The next 15 minutes were spent with Amu digging through her closet of graphic tees and long sleeve shirts to find someone cute. Finally, at the very bottom of the closet, layed the perfect outfit for the date. It was a slightly off the shoulder tee. It was completely white, with a few abstract pink lines scattered across the shirt. but the color greatly accented her bright hair color. Paired with a black cross necklace that rested on the center of her chest, it looked great. Add tiny jean shorts to the outfit, and a little bit of makeup, Amu looked simple yet adorable.

Only 3 minutes later, a rasp on the door is heard. She knows who it is, and a smile spreads across her face.

Opening the door, she is greeted with the sight of Ikuto. He looks great in his black button up shirt, and matching dark jeans. His shirt is unbuttoned a little bit, revealing a white cross necklace.

Amu points to her cross necklace, and then to his. "We match!" They laugh a bit, and soon are on the way to the date.

"So, what do you have planned?" She asks curiously.

"You'll see..." Annoyed at his reluctance to reveal it, she huffs.

(About 15 minutes later)

Ikuto pulls the car up into the abandoned lot of the park.

Amu observers the park. Not a single person was there, and the park seemed secluded from the world. Each wooden bench empty, the pavement surrounding a center fountain empty of people. The unique thing about this park, though, is that it is on the edge of a cliff next to the ocean. If you were to go on the edge, you would have an awesome view.

"A park? I thought you would want to go somewhere fancy..."

He looks over to her. "Do you not like it? I wanted a quiet place to talk..."

They leave the car, cross the pavement. It is silent, except for the rhythmic splashing of the fountain.

Ikuto points to the end of the park. "Want to see something?"

Amu nods, and he lead her to the edge of the park. What awaited her was the grand view of the crystal blue ocean over the cliff.

With the sun beginning to set, the lapping waves appeared to be a deep purple. "This is great!" Cries Amu. She hadn't been by the ocean in a while.

Ikuto gazes at her, pleased that she was enjoying herself. The sun was now dipping below the horizon of the vast sea, and it appeared to be submerged in the water. Vibrant hues of red, lavender, and orange paint the sky.

And then at that moment, he knew it was the right time. "Amu."

She turns around, golden eyes shining. "Yeah?"

Amu was stunning there. Rich ink hair softly flowing with the breeze, luscious cherry lips parted slightly, with the beautiful sunset behind her. But, to Ikuto, the real beauty wasn't the sunset. Right now, he could see only her.

He kneels before her, pulling a small satin box out of his pocket. Amu's eyes widen as she realizes what this is.

Kaito's Point Of View

I sit along one of the benches, watching them stare into each others' eyes. It seems as if they are communicating to each other with their eyes, but in a language I would not understand.

He kneels before her, opening a small box. He watches her, waiting. From here I can see his shoulders trembling from nervousness.

A single tear slips from her eye, and soon, followed by a stream of tears. She wasn't upset, rather crying tears of happiness.

He is alarmed, unaware she was so delighted that her body couldn't contain all her euphoric emotions on its own that it had to release them into tears.

"Yes." She states. "I promise to marry you when we graduate."

A promise ring? I am surprised.

Silent tears stream down my face. Pathetic. Yet, I could not deny that I wished to be in his place now, Amu's head laying on my chest, my arms around her waist.

Suddenly, her eyes widen as she sees my form. I imagine I look terrible now, deprived of sleep, eyes swollen from crying.

She rushes to me, asking if I am okay. I can barely see her face, as my tears blind me.

I have to say it. This is my last chance. I must leave for America tomorrow.

She shakes my shoulders, shouting my name.

"I love you." The words come out easier than anticipated. Three little words with so much meaning.

She is shocked, mouth hanging wide open, unable to utter a word.

Now that I have said these words, I am no longer bound here. I know he will take care of her, though it pains me that I will not be the one to do it.

It's odd, really. I believed I hated Amu, considered her my sworn enemy. Love works in funny ways.

And with that, I leave. Leave Japan. Leave Amu.

I shall walk on American soil, a fresh new start. I'll graduate high school, go to college, perhaps meet a girl, and spend life with her. It is as simple as that. But I don't think this hole in my heart shall ever be truly healed.

(Regular Point Of View)

Amu heads back to Ikuto, still shocked at what Kaito had said. Till now, she was convinced Kaito despised her.

"What happened?" Ikuto asks, concerned.

She only smiles, and shakes her head. "Nothing much..."

He can see through her lie, but says nothing of it. He opens his broad arms, grinning. "Shall we continue where we left off?"

Amu leaps into his arms, and they embrace once again, and soon, begin to kiss.

I once thought of this guy as an annoying, perverted, jock. So many things can happen in three years...

Once they have finished kissing, still embracing, Ikuto thinks back to when he had just met Amu.

At first, she was just an object I would use to get ahead of Tadase. But I ended up pursuing her, until she finally gave in...

Still grinning, the two stay in the embrace a while longer, before heading back home, to tell their friends the news...

Ah! It's finally finished! Thanks for all the support and reviews! I expected this to be a short story that would take only a few months, but it ended up taking over a year! Sorry for getting so much writers block, lol.

I'll work on the epilogue after this, and if you guys really wanted me to, I could make a bonus chapter sometime... A lemon chapter :P.
