Hey I'm back! I have a new chapter…. Yeah sorry for the super late update… but at least I updated right?

Lucy stood there with a stunned expression on her face. She had not been expecting that question come from Laxus. Nor did she know how to react. He just asked her to dinner? Like a date?! Where did this even come from? It didn't really seam like he had been interested in her. He was just acting like as helpful and friendly guildmate. Like Natsu would. Well Natsu wasn't exactly your normal person either, but neither was anyone else in Fairytail.

Butterfly's were in her stomach, but she wasn't sure if it was because she was excited or scared. What should she say? Part of her really wanted to go with him but another part of her was telling her not to. The question was, which one should she listen to?

She just stood there with a calculating expression on her face trying to come to the best conclusion.

Laxus stood there awkwardly. She still hadn't replied. He knew he shouldn't have asked. This wasn't like him at all! He was very tempted to just turn around and lightning flash away from there, but he couldn't just leave a guildmate like that.

He inspected Lucy's expressions, her eyes were calculating, thinking of an answer to reply to him.

He was thinking of the worst possible things. Of course she would not want to go to dinner with him! He tried to destroy Fairytail! Her home! His heart was pounding in his ears waiting for a response.

With all that had occurred in the past few days Laxus was still unsure of what exactly he was feeling and thinking. He did know that the thought of Lucy made a warm smile come onto his face and that he wanted to be with her in a way he had never wanted to be with a person before. But damn it this was not how he: Laxus Dreyer, usually felt. It made him unsure of himself, not knowing the right move to make.

And damn he was confused.

Lucy finally came to an answer, confidence flared into her eyes and she looked to Laxus with a smile on her face. She knew she had been feeling something these past few days. Beginning, with when Laxus had rescued her in the forest from the Gorian was when she realized how much he had truly changed. Then with how much he had helped her when she was sick, and this quest… "Yes," Lucy answered with confidence. She knew she was making the right decision.

Laxus blinked in shock. Did the blondie just say yes? "what.." he muttered astounded at her answer.

Lucy got a rebellious smile "would you like me to repeat myself?" she asked with a devious grin.

Laxus gave her a look "Oy, I don't trust that smile blondie," he stated.

Rolling her eyes Lucy grabbed onto his arm "come on! We have to hurry and check into the guild!" she said pulling him along. Mira would be happy to know that their mission had been a success… minus the whole clothing malfunction fiasco but that was going to go unspoken and not mentioned.

Laxus gave a small smirk "don't get too excited blondie, I know I'm an awesome person to go on a date with, but it wont be till six and its only 10am," he said with a cocky yet playful tone.

Ignoring the comment Lucy let go of his arm so she could jump up onto the waterway that she loved to walk on. A hum came out of her mouth as she continued down the walkway with her eyes focused on her path so she wouldn't fall. "So where do you think we will go?" she asked Laxus, not turning her head so she could see in front of her.

He put a finger to his chin in thought. Where would he take her? Not somewhere too fancy, this was a first date….possibly of many, and even though he was an S-class mage, he wasn't that rich. His expression faded into a grin "that'll be a surprise blondie….Oh and try not to wear something too fancy," he responded.

The celestial mage tilted her head to the side. Where could he be possibly thinking of to take her? Maybe some fancy restaurant near the river and the sun will be setting so that it will sparkle on the water. Oh and there will be candles and roses and the food would be soooo succulent! But he had said not to wear something too fancy. Her eyes sparkled in a daze over the possibilities.

"Careful, you don't want to fall into the river," Laxus warned.

Lucy waved him off "don't worry I walk on this all the time-" she was cut off by her toe catching on an impurity on the walkway. Her body sprang around off balance and threatened to throw her into the river. She let out a loud "eeeppp!" as she tumbled.

With lightning flash reflexes Laxus caught Lucy around the waist and steadied her so that she wouldn't fall.

"What was that about not falling?"

Lucy huffed her cheeks, looking away with an embarrassed blush.

Laxus laughed and pulled her all the way to the sidewalk so that she wasn't only the side railing anymore. Didn't want t risk her falling again. She didn't exactly have the best coordination… or luck…

They continued walking back to the guild with silence. It didn't take long for them to reach the doors of Fairytail, its large letters showing the level proud-ness the guild had for it and its wizards. The usual showing and yelling could be heard coming form inside the guild.

With a *crash* and a *bang!* an object came flying out of the guild hall and strait for the two wizards out side of it. Quickly in response Laxus stuck out his hand to stop it from colliding with either of them.

The object turned out to be a beaten up Natsu, who jumped up with a flamed fist and faced the door he just flew out of "Wanna try that again ice breath!" he shouted angrily, flames coming out of his mouth.

Grey who was standing inside the guild had his arms crossed over his chest. Surprisingly his clothes were actually on, unlike 90% of the time. He also had a couple of scratches and bruises from this recent scuffle. "I could do it as many times as I want flame brain!" Grey shouted back with a tick mark on his forehead.

Lucy giggled at her guildmates usual antics " I see you didn't save your battles till I was here," she said to Natsu.

Nastu blinked then turned around "…..LUCY!" he shouted before tackling her in a hug. "Your back from your mission!" he added happily.

Upon hearing Natsu, Happy quickly flew out of the guild " did I hear Lucy?" he asked looking around. His eyes landed in Lucy and he quickly rushed over to her "luuuuccy!" he said giving her a hug.

Laxus gave her a look asking her what was going on.

She gave him back a sheepish smile "they get this way when I come back from missions they didn't go on,' she answered. The first time this had happened was when she went on a girls only mission with Erza. She was not expecting the response she got when she got home.

Laxus gave back an understanding expression.

Natsu jumped up with his arms in the air "WOOOOHOOOOO! LUCY AND LAXUS ARE BACK! PARTY TIME!" He shouted running towards the guild with a large grin on his face.

"Good ol' Fairytail," Laxus muttered as he made his way through the doors. The Thunder God Tribe will most likely be waiting for him to give them the happenings of the mission.

Lucy smiled as she followed him inside. Yep, good ol' Fairytail.
