Yu-Gi-Oh Prince and the Pauper

Chapter Seven: Discovered

Bakura kept ramming against the iron door, his grunts echoing throughout the tunnel.

"It's no good.." He muttered. "We have to stop her.." Bakura said aloud, turning to Courtney.

She nodded.

From outside, Mariku and Malik were pickaxing at the entrance.

"Put your backs into it, you imbeciles!" Tea barked at them.

After a final hit from Mariku, the mine started to cave in.

"Wh-what was that?" Courtney asked in panic as she heard crashing.

Tea smirked and rode off with the two Egyptians as giant boulders crashed down in front of the mine, trapping the two there.

Queen Sakura clapped her hands slightly, smiling in joy. "Thank you, Ambassador Yami, everything is straight now! The kingdoms will be joined together after the wedding tomorrow!"

Yami bowed slightly.

Sakura turned to Ryou with her smile. "Are you ready darling?"

"Yes.. Of course.."

Sakura cleared her throat. "Bakura, darling, don't you have something that you want to give to Princess Natalie?"

Ryou blinked. "O-oh right.."

He pulled a small white box out of his pocket and handed it to Natalie. "For my bride to be.."

Natalie opened it and there sat a beautiful diamond ring. She smiled and covered her mouth in joy.

She was about to hug him when the door suddenly opened.

Lady Tea came stomping in. "Grab him! He's an imposter!"

A few guards walked over and grabbed Ryou's arms. His eyes widened.

Sakura's did too. "Lady Tea! What are you doing?"

Natalie tried to get between the guards. "Release the prince!"

Lady Tea smirked. "He's a fake! A common pauper!"

Ryou looked down at the ground.

Sakura walked over to Tea. "Are you telling me that I don't know my own son?!"

Tea took the most suck-upish tone alive. "I only just found this out myself, your majesty. Have you wondered why we haven't seen Courtney lately? She's- she's conspired with this imposter-" She pointed a polished nail finger at Ryou, who bowed his head.

"Together they took the prince and took him to the royal mines so he could take his place, marry Princess Natalie and take over the kingdom!" Tea screeched.

Natalie placed her hands on her hips. "A-and what proof do you have of this.. ridiculous story?"

Tea turned to Sakura. "After I discovered their betrayal, I tried to rescue Prince Bakura, but alas... I was too late.."

Sakura's eyes widened.

"They sabotaged the mine... and it collapsed..." Tea pulled out Bakura's ring. "I'm afraid that this was all that my workers found in the rubble.."

Sakura wailed. "No! It cannot be!"

She turned to Ryou. "P-please tell me that it isn't true Bakura, you're very much alive..."

In desperation, she gripped his hand. "Tell me that it is you here.. please... please..."

She was close to crying.

"I-I'm sorry... But I'm not Prince Bakura..." Ryou said quietly. "B-but give me a chance to—"

Natalie had started to cry. "I-I can't believe that its true.."

"I-I can explain-"

"Throw him in the dungeon!" Tea screeched.

"Wait!" Ryou pulled out of the guard's grip, over to Natalie. "I'm not the prince. But I never hurt him- or anybody else!"

He was grabbed by the guards.

Yami's face was red with anger. "Unbelievable! This is an outrage!"

"I-I just wanted to save the prince," Ryou was being dragged out of the room, "from her!" He pointed at Tea who smirked. "Dungeon!" She screeched.

She laughed.

Natalie looked after Ryou longingly. She still loved him and believed that he had never lied about anything except his identity.

Queen Sakura sat in the floor crying. "M-my son... my poor poor baby..."

Yami practically dragged Natalie to the carriage that was waiting outside.
"I can't believe this! They tried to marry you off and to a mere pauper too!"

Natalie sighed as she got in. "It doesn't make sense.."

Yami huffed. "I should say not!" He closed the carriage door. "Well, the sooner we get out of here, the happier I will be."

Ryou sat in his cell, staring blankly at the wall. He was honestly scared for his life but also scared for the Queen. In the short time that he got to know her, he had actually grown to see her as a mother.

And he was worried that Tea would do something to hurt her.

Please... someone keep her safe... and find Courtney and Bakura... I know that they're still alive..

Ryou fell asleep after a while of just laying there.

Sakura sat in her throne, staring at a large portrait of her and Bakura together. Her eyes were puffed red with all the crying that she had done.

Tea walked up to her with a tray of tea. "My poor... poor queen... Here, I've brought you some tea to... kill the pain."

Sakura sniffled and grabbed a tea cup off of the tray and Tea poured her some.

The queen immediately drank some. Tea smirked menacingly. Yes... The stupid bitch fell for it..

After the cup was empty, Sakura started to cough. "O-oh dear, I'm afraid th-that I'm a bit under the weather... Excuse me, Lady Tea." She turned to one of the servants nearby. "P-please call the healer.."

The servant nodded and ran off. A few other servants escorted her to her bedroom.

Tea smirked. Finally... the kingdom will be mine...

Aaaaaaaand yet another chapter. I believe that the ending is close folks. Maybe three or four chapters!

Ryou: Silver owns nothing.

Bakura: Yeah, cause she's boring like that.

*smacks Bakura* Oh shut your face Bakura!
