I have no good excuses for how late this is. I am so sorry.
"Laxus!" Freed shouted with excitement as the leader of the group walked in the doors with Natsu and Lucy. Happy flew over their heads giggling happily. Freed quickly made his way over to his group leader with a smile "you're back from your mission," he stated.
Laxus nodded in reply and made a small motion to Lucy to show her that he was going to follow Freed back to his group.
Lucy nodded in reply as she understood what Laxus meant. Although, she did feel slightly sad from not being at Laxus's side anymore. It was as if it made her feel more confident standing next to him. She shook the feeling in her head away and followed Natsu to the counter so she could check in with Mira.
Mira smiled from behind the counter at Lucy "So how did the mission go?" she asked getting right to the point. She wanted every single detail. Although Lucy might not be able to tell all of them in front of the guild. If of course the first part of Mira's wonderful matchmaker plan worked.
Lucy jumped up onto the seat with a large smile, her mind completely forgetting all of the bad things that happened and only remembering the good. "It went really good, and nothing got destroyed in the process so we got all of the reward money!" she said with a smile.
Natsu got a look on his face "you didn't destroy anything?" he asked confused. "Don't you usually break something?" he asked confused.
Lucy gave him a look "Natsu, it's always you and Erza breaking things everywhere."
Natsu paused "oh yeah," then a big smile grew on his face "oh yeah! Do you want to go on another mission with me? Erza and Ice-brain will be there too," he asked. His loopy smile was on his face.
"I-um…" Lucy said remembering her date tonight. There was no way she was skipping that. But she didn't exactly want to tell anyone about it yet.
Mira caught up in her hesitation and gave Natsu a smile "well Lucy just got back so she should probably get some rest before she goes on another mission," Mira suggested.
"But someone else could take the mission first!" Natsu whined.
Mira's face grew a little bit darker and Natsu paled slightly "I mean sure! Yeah! Rest up Lucy!" he said giving his fellow guild mate a smile.
Mira now turned to Lucy "Lucy, can you come in the back with me, I need to talk with you," she said with her smile, but Lucy could sense hidden motives under that tone. Lucy paled but deiced to comply with Mira's wishes and followed her into the back room.
As soon as they were out of earshot of everyone in the guild, Mira turned to Lucy "So what is going to happen later that made you so hesitant to go on a mission?" she asked with a friendly smile.
Lucy knew that smile wasn't friendly, that smile could terrorize her in an instant if she told a lie. But Lucy didn't want to tell anyone! What if the date turned out wrong and her and Laxus didn't talk to each other anymore? Would the guild split up into two sides? This thought made Lucy's heart wrench in pain. She—She didn't want that to ever happen. It would be all her fault.
Lucy decided to try her best at lying, because she knew that one of the worst people to rush everything would be Mira "Nothing, I was just a little overwhelmed because I just got back from a mission. I need some rest you know," she explained. Wow that actually felt like a good lie…
"Lucy, I can tell you're lying,"
Or maybe not…. Lucy paled not wanting to tell Mira but also knowing the consequences of not telling her the truth. "Laxus and I are going on a date," she said with more confidence then she was expecting. Lucy felt a flush of warmth through her chest when she told Mira. The reality of the fact finally hit her. She was going on a date with Laxus. Thee Laxus, S-class mage, the Master's grandson, very handsome, very strong, dragon slayer Laxus.
Lucy Swayed on her feet. She couldn't believe this, she had feelings for Laxus!
Mira quickly steadied her swaying friend "Lucy are you ok?" she asked concerned. Lucy had just slipped away into lala land.
"Laxus and I are going on a date…." Lucy whispered under her breath as if she could hardly believe her own words.
Mira gave Lucy a small smile. "I know what we need to do! Dress shopping for your date!"
Lucy popped out of her little world "wait what?" she said, her head snapping toward Mira. She couldn't ask anything else because the next thing she knew she was being dragged out of the room into the guild by Mira.
"Levy come with us!" Mira shouted at the blue hair mage sitting next to Gajeel.
Levy popped up and met them outside the guild. "Is this about Laxus?" Levy asked looking at Lucy with a small smile.
Lucy blinked "How did you know?" she asked confused.
"Gajeel said your scent was all over Laxus's coat," she explained with a smile. Gajeel had laughed for 5 minutes and said something about trying harder to cover up the scent next time.
Lucy's face went to instant red. If they didn't know why exactly it smelled like her it would sound really bad put of context. "I stole his coat that's all," Lucy blurted out trying to explain.
Mira smiled "Levy, Lucy has a date with Laxus!" she said trying to steer the focus of the conversation.
Levy got super excited and bounced on her toes "Really?! That is so amazing Lucy!" she exclaimed in happiness.
Mira continued smiling "And for such an event we are going Dress shopping,"
Yeah I have been gone from this site for a long time. I don't know where the thing that makes a line went. So I'm just using the sqigglys. I am sorry if people are slightly out of character, I haven't seen any Fairytail since the last time I posted (forever ago) but I knew I needed to get you all a new chapter. My style might have changed as well, and well that happens with time. For anyone who reads this chapter thank you for being so patient with me. And there is no way to express how sorry I am for neglecting my Fanfiction.
