Yu-Gi-Oh Prince and the Pauper
Epilogue: A New Day
Natalie sighed as she looked up at Ryou, who was on a horse, preparing to leave.
"I can't convince you to stay..?" She asked one more time, tear threatening to fall down her face.
Ryou fiddled with the reins. "All of my life, I've been dreaming of being free... Now my debt's been paid... thanks to Bakura."
"Wh-where will you go?" Natalie asked, grabbing his hand.
Ryou gave her a smile. "Everywhere! I want to act and see the world!"
"O-oh.." Natalie said.
"But... I hope you'll keep this safe for me." Ryou said, handing her a tiny box.
Natalie opened it and her eyes widened. It was a simple ring, one that was handmade out of silver and had a small diamond.
Then the tears started flowing down her face with sadness and happiness. She hugged Ryou tightly.
Ryou slipped it onto her finger. "It was my mother's..."
"I-I'll wait for you, Ryou." Natalie said as she hugged him tightly, almost not letting go.
Ryou kissed her once. "I will come back."
"I-I know."
The white haired pauper smiled at her before he rode off into the distance.
Courtney was right about the mines. She had taken the queen there and they discovered that the mines were filled with thousands upon thousands of amethyst geodes.
And with those geodes, the queen, Bakura and Courtney created a new industry within the kingdom.
The kingdom was saved.
And as for Maximillion Pegasus, he had to go out of business because without the royal family's business, he went bankrupt.
And for our favorite side character, Joey? Well he moved into the castle at Bakura's request.
He met Seto and they hit it off immediately. But that's a story for another time.
After months upon months of traveling, Ryou realized that there was one place that he wanted to be more than anywhere else. He realized that sometimes being free means choosing not to go, but to stay.
So he immediately headed back to his kingdom, where Natalie had been staying.
He found Natalie next to Pharaoh, petting his mane and feeding him apples.
Pharaoh nudged his master's arm and she looked up. A bright smile appeared on her face.
Ryou jumped off of his horse and ran to hug her.
"I missed you so much," they both said together.
Then they blushed.
They both heard giggling from the bushes and a shh.
Natalie blinked,
"Shh.. Courtney, they'll hear you..."
"But Kura, they're so cute!"
Ryou walked over to the bush and pulled it open to see Courtney and Bakura, who had been spying on them.
"O-oh hello." Bakura said.
"Hello!" Courtney chirped. "Wonderful weather today huh?"
Natalie laughed.
Eventually, Courtney and Bakura were married at a wedding at the palace. The best man was Ryou and the maid of honor was Natalie. Not too long afterwards, Ryou and Natalie were married as well in a simple wedding in the country.
Joey and Seto were married and adopted a baby named Seth who looked almost exactly like Seto. Natalie and Ryou were the godparents.
And so, our story ends on a happier note than when it began and finally, our characters have gotten their happy endings at last.
Especially for our charming prince and our beloved pauper.
They all lived happily ever after...
The End.
Ahhhhhh~! It's over! :(
Noooooooooooooo! I didn't want it to end!
Bakura: Well that's what you get for writing it non-stop. Geez, you have no self control, do you?
Not when it comes to fairy tales like this with you and Ry-kun... I just love using you both in my stories...
Bakura: *huffs*
Ryou: You did a great job with this one Silver! And now it's finished! Another story to not worry about!
Yeah... you're right Ry-kun... *huggles* You always know how to make me feel better.
But in all seriousness, thanks to those that have read. Sorry that the chapters came so fast, I just got so excited.
Please review, even if the story is over, I just love reading reviews.
So... I'd like to thanks my best friend/sissy for wanting me to keep writing (ugh she still can't text me, radamnit! Withdrawals are killing meeeeee!)
And yeah.
