Shang Tsung was sitting in the interrogation room.
He had been in prison for a few days now and no one had asked any questions. He was really confused. He thought they would've been hounding him, or something. But he didn't mind. He was fine with just sitting around, doing nothing. The door leading to the room opened and in walked a man wearing a red blindfold.
He pulled out a chair across from Shang Tsung and sat down. "Shang Tsung," he said.
Shang Tsung smiled and said, "Kenshi. It's a pleasure to see you again. Shame I can't say the same for you."
Kenshi took off his blindfold and set it to the side. He narrowed his eyes and said, "You're just lucky I have some self-constraint."
"What surprises me, swordsman," said Shang Tsung, "is how you haven't killed me yet. Especially after I blinded you like that."
Kenshi's face didn't change emotion. He just stared at Shang Tsung. The old man looked around the room and finally said, "Nice place you got here. I wonder how much it cost to decorate this place. Probably cost a fortune."
Kenshi continued staring at Shang Tsung. Finally he said, "You're court hearing will be in a couple days, Shang Tsung. But before I go, I want to ask, why? Why did you feel it was necessary to blind me of all people?"
Shang Tsung scratched his chin. He looked at Kenshi with a sadistic grin on his face. "I choose you," started Shang Tsung, "because you were the most arrogant. You rushed into things without thinking. Like that day I found you. You just rushed into battle with those men. I'm surprised you survived that, much less crawling your way out of that filthy cave."
"Guess I have a knack for survival."
"Appears so, swordsman. Where is the Sento blade? I don't see it on you, right now."
Kenshi replied, "It's at my house. You'll be happy to know that Kano, Baraka, and Liu Kang were able to escape."
Shang Tsung snarled and said, "Buncha cowards, they were. I saw Kano run away in fear when the fight broke out. Unlike Reptile, who stood by my side until the end, God rest his soul."
The door behind them opened and Stryker walked in. "Kenshi," he said, "we've got a problem. Some nutjob is shooting up the mall. The captain wants us to go with him and Blade to stop it." He looked over to Shang Tsung and simply said, "Shang Tsung."
"Officer Stryker," replied Shang Tsung.
Kenshi, still focused on Shang Tsung, nodded and said, "I'll be there after I finish with him."
Stryker nodded and walked back out. Kenshi said, "Make no mistake, Shang Tsung. I want to kill you here and now. But I won't. Not yet, anyway. We'll see what the judge decides."
Shang Tsung nodded and said, "Take all the time you need, Kenshi."
The blind swordsman grabbed his blindfold, placed it back on his eyes, and walked out. Once he heard the door lock, Shang Tsung leaned back in his chair and said, "You can come out now, Quan-Chi."
A tall, pale, bald man with a red tattoo on the right side of his face walked out of the shadows and said, "It seems our plan is working to perfection, Shang Tsung."
"Of course it is," replied Shang Tsung. "I'm the one who thought of it."
"So modest," stated Quan-Chi. "I'll let you know that my… servant is working out quite nicely."
Shang Tsung smiled and said, "I knew he would. Hanzo was always a foolish one. Where is he now?"
"He's in Hell," replied Quan-Chi. "Where he belongs for the time being."
Shang Tsung nodded and said, "Of course, my friend. You should leave. I have a court hearing soon."
Quan-Chi grinned. "I'll see you then."
He then vanished into a portal behind him. Shang Tsung placed his feet on the table and started whistling.
THE END.
A/N: It's done. Huh. Well, this is by far the longest it's taken for me to write a story and complete it. Thank you to all of those who've read it, and newcomer Mr. Havik. Thank you for finally checking this story out. I still cannot believe that this is the end. I think I am going to do a sequel, but not immediatly. Maybe in 2014, after the newest Godzilla movie comes out, because I'll be in a Godzilla mood until then. So, I'd like to thank all of you who have read (over 1,000 viewers) and the two people to review. Thank you Poe's Daughter and Mr. Havik.
Spino, over and out.
