Chapter 3:Curtain Call

BREAKING NEWS

Today in Shibuya, a strange, horse sized monster-like animal was suddenly seen charging through the suburbs nearby, causing a ruckus all over the city. Said monster then suddenly attacked the Shibuya Train Station, injuring only a few people and suddenly chasing after a group of teens. Said teens have not yet been found, and the creature has vanished once more. Surveillance cameras have shown that they managed to get away for a short time before the beast went again after them, before disappearing once more.

Police have been notified about the attack and are searching the nearby area for the beast currently. A separate rescue team has also been sent out for the teens that were victims in such attack. No bodies have been found yet, so police assume that they got away and are currently hiding.

The Shibuya police have begun to warn people in the Shibuya area to be wary about the beast, and are suggesting that civilians stay indoors until the monster is found and captured. Information about its whereabouts and any sightings would be greatly appreciated.

Information acquired about these incidents can be called in at 880-2313-419...

With a push of the button, the formerly blaring television, with the breaking news all over the screen became blank and silent as the teen turned it off. While seemingly calm on the outside, his mud brown eyes flashed a emotion of shock and confusion- his mind was also racing at a hundred miles an hour. Not in fear of the beast or in worry of the teens-he didn't know them but one of them from the pictures shown looked oddly familiar, yet he had a gut feeling that they were fine- but in worry of why. Why was there a wild digimon in the human world?

"What on earth...how did a Devidramon get here? Why attack teenagers anyway?" He grumbled, running a hand through the large mass of dark brown hair atop his head. He sighed, no really knowing what to make of it. It was just confusing as hell to him.

"What do you make of it Agumon?" He suddenly said, turning to the large, orange dinosaur digimon next to him, who was before silent. Said Digimon turned to his partner and sighed.

"Honestly Tai, I don't know. The devidramon in the digital world were all deleted with the dark masters, and turned into their vaccine evolutions from what I had known." Agumon said in a slightly depressed tone. He didn't like it when digimon did bad things. It was even worse when they did it for seemingly no reason at all. It made the whole race as a whole look dark and evil. Not that everyone remembered them, but it still made him irritated!

Taichi Kamiya sighed, sinking back into the old couch of his families apartment. This bothered him more than it should, but then again, he had thought the digital world was finally peaceful again, and then this happens.

I should contact Izzy about this. Tai thought to he stood up, walking towards his and Kari room, where he had left his D-Terminal before he heard loud, frantic knocking at his front door. Curious, he quickly walked over to the door, opening it to reveal Joe Kido, out of breath and slightly wheezing like he had run all the way here from his own home.

"Joe! You okay buddy?" Joe gave a weak thumbs up before swaying into the room, his backpack rumbling before a familiar head with a red streak of fur popped out. "Hey Tai! Man, did you how crowded the trains are at this time of day? I felt like canned tuna!" Gomamon joked, escaping Joe's backpack and waddling over to Agumon. "Hey buddy! Joe has some news you won't believe!" the rookie stated.

"What, that they won't be making candy anymore?" Agumon questioned. Joe shook his head, finally regaining his breath. "You've seen the..news..right?" Joe asked, running a hand through his once again short bluish hair. Tai nodded. "Yeah, its all over the place! I wonder what that Devidramon was doing though..."

"I think I may know." Joe said, straightening his glasses. Tai gave him an questioning look that told him to continue. "I was on my way to a medical seminar in Odaiba, when I saw these six teens, probably Kari's age. The exact same ones on the news." Joe states. "So you saw them on the train before they were attacked. What does this have to do with anything?" He questioned.

Joe frowned. "I was getting to that. So just before they left the train, I noticed that in one of their arms, was a strange stuffed animal. I thought nothing of it until I realized I knew that animal, and it definitely wasn't stuffed." Tai nodded, eyes slowly widening at what he was implying. Joe continued. "In arms of the girl, unconscious, was a Lopmon."

That last sentence made the whole deal click for Tai. "Huh? So does that mean...a new digidestined? Are you sure Joe?" He stuttered. Joe slowly nodded. "So, a new digidestined was attacked in Shibuya and is now missing...this is not good. Not good at all." Tai frowned. And just when things were peaceful again...

Suddenly Tai was struck with a memory from four years ago, when Kari came rushing home blabbering about some giant digimon that had literally burst out of the digital world then was dragged back in by a smaller warrior like digimon. The whole group had fussed about it for weeks, thinking that another new threat was going to try to take over the world, only to find out that nothing of the sort happened in the digital world, and Gennai had never heard of either digimon Kari and Gatomon had seen and described. Izzy went to the park a few days later and did happen to find traces of a digital gate being forced open, but it was sealed so seamlessly and closed tightly that there was no way to track it from where it came from. Suddenly, things clicked in his mind.

"Wait a second...could it be that..?"

Tai's attention was shattered as his front door swung open, and A feline champion digimon dashed in before being followed close behind by a girl. Her chocolate brown hair was short, held to the side of her head with a yellow hair clip. She was wearing a pink sweater with a high collar and no sleeves, and long, black gloves that when up to her elbows. Along with that, she was wearing blue rolled up shorts and long, black socks with brown boots. "T..Tai.." Kari Kamiya breathed heavily, taking a deep breath as her brother dashed over to hold her up.

"Geez, why is everybody running over here? Weren't you supposed to be grocery shopping with Mom though?" Tai asked. Kari nodded. "I saw the news though..and came rushing back.." Tai was confused at this point. Kari was usually very level-headed about this kind of thing. For her to come running back was..surprising, to say the least. "Yeah, the devidramon attacking those kids? Joe thinks one of them is a new digidestined, which would explain why they were targeted-"

Kari stood up, suddenly shouting. "That's not the point! The boy on the news..I recognized him! The one with the hat and goggles, they looked familiar to me because I gave those goggles to him!" She exclaimed. Suddenly Tai's blood ran cold. Kari had only ever given goggles to one person, which made him quietly begin to freak out again on the inside. "Y-you don't mean... it can't be.."

Kari swallowed, trying to hold back tears of sorrow. "It's Takuya, Tai. Its really him."

"WE'RE GONNA CRASH!"

"CALM DOWN, WE ARE NOT GOING TO CRASH!"

"WELL, WHY DON'T YOU TELL THAT TO THE INCOMING GROUND ZOE!"

"WOULD YOU TWO JUST SHUT UP!" Turuiemon screamed over the roar of the rushing wind. Devidramon had snapped the cables holding up the elevator, so currently the group was plummeting to their deaths in a very gruesome way if they didn't find a way out and escape quickly. JP was having a panic attack and was screaming bloody murder, shouting that they were going to die while Zoe got annoyed at all his yelling and started to yell back to try to calm him down, which wasn't working.

Takuya, on the other hand, was trying to come with a way to avoid the group from being red splats in a crushed metal elevator. There was no way they were going to finally come in contact with digimon again to die before the group got to see their friends again. He was about to speak a strange idea, about jumping out at the last moment before suddenly the elevator jerked, causing the group to shoot up and crash into the ceiling before coming back down in a crumpled heap.

"Ow ow ow...well that wasn't pleasant." Kouichi groaned, trying to untangle himself from being lodged beneath Zoe, who Turuiemon was lying on top of. The teens struggled to untangle themselves, as the elevator was quite small and they were all growing teens who were quite tall. They were all able to at least get in a sitting position before the elevator jerked again, this time moving a a much slower and even pace.

J.P let out a sigh in relief, wiping the imaginary sweat off his brow. "Whew! We stopped falling. I thought I was going to die there!" At his remark, Tommy and Zoe rolled their eyes. "You don't say.."they deadpanned, letting the older boy snarl at their response. " Well excuse me for panicking about our deaths!" He huffed, crossing his arms and looking away from them.

"But...why did we stop?" Kouichi asked, realizing that they couldn't have just randomly stopped. Any other stops would have been the ground, or in their case, death. Turuiemon looked outside, seeing a blue glow outside. "It's Ophanimon's power." The champion explained, running his hand on the cold metal walls, that now hummed silently with power. "It was the same way last time. The cables were supposed to go down this far anyway, so after a certain point the cables just disconnect, and her power would lower its descent. The fact that this is still active means that Ophanimon hasn't been attacked yet." He grinned, obviously quite happy that she hadn't been injured.

"Attacked yet?" Takuya said out loud. "You mean she could be under attack? Turuiemon, what is going on?" He pressed. Turuiemon frowned, taking a deep breath as the elevator finally hit the ground once more. "We are at war Takuya." He explained, the doors behind him opening up slowly, making the group gasp in awe.

The train station had literally, not changed at all from the last time they had been here. The entire place was in ruins, chunks of the floor sticking out everywhere at strange intervals. The tunnels for the Trailmon were still there, but other than that the place looked awful. The ceiling was still colored strangely, the colors moving back and forth in response to their presences, as if alive.

"I'll be honest..I never thought I'd see this place again." Takuya murmured, looking around in slight awe. Even the old broken elevator that he and Agunimon had pushed over was perfectly untouched. He ran his hand over it, feeling a large rush of nostalgia run right through him. It looked as though the others were experiencing the same thing.

"We were going to fix it eventually, but I guess with everything we had to do after your guys exit we never really had the time." Turuiemon said, walking ahead of the group towards the middle Trailmon tunnel. "Just a bit further, until we can assure that you guys are safe and I can explain everything." he explained. He raised his arm, putting two fingers in his mouth and whistling as the high pitched noise rang through out the terminal, before a lower, deeper sound replied, lighting up the tunnel in front of Turuiemon in a soft red light.

The crimson glow continued to grow, coming further down the tunnel before the whole creature was visible. Takuya openly gaped. "No way..."

The Trailmon that came to greet them was black in color, with two gold lines encircling its entire middle body. Its form looked somewhat like a mole, having a upwards angled front-bumper and a curved top. But what stood out to them the most was its eyes. Instead of two, normal looking ones on each side, the train-like digimon had a large, red eye in the middle of the front, and two slightly smaller red eyes on its sides.

The rest of the legendary warriors looked at Takuya strangely. "You've met this Trailmon before? I don't remember meeting him." Kouji said, assessing the train with a keen eye. Something about the train felt...strange, to say the least, like something wasn't right in the pit of his stomach. Maybe it was just his affinity to light though.

The hat-wearing teen grinned widely, scratching the back of his head in the familiar way. "Well, remember that time after we fought Duskmon, and I disappeared? Well, somehow I ended up at the Dark Terminal were this Trailmon was. I was feeling down, lost and very awful, so I got on. He taught me a valuable lesson, and I came back, stronger than ever and my drive fully restored." He explained, motioning towards the Trailmon.

"Guys, I would like to introduce you to Dark Trailmon. Long time no see eh buddy?" The teen said, gaining a large puff of smoke from the digimon in response. "It's been a long time, Takuya Kanbara."DarkTrailmon replied, his voice just as deep and monotone as before. The teen just waved it off, treating him like and old friend before giving Turuiemon a slight shove forward. "Well? Lets get on!" He said.

The champion digimon nodded, motioning for the group to follow as the doors to the cabins open, the group getting on the very first one and choosing comfortable positions. "Better be comfortable, this trips gonna be a long one." Turuiemon warned as the doors slammed shut, and the trains slowly began moving back out of the broken station.

The group sat in silence as the light from the station got smaller and smaller, letting the scenery outside turn from old bricks and stone to complete and utter darkness. Turuiemon sighed, clapping once to get everyone attention. "We're safe for now. No ones stupid enough to attack us in the barriers between worlds. There's no telling what could happen if that kind of power fluctuated here." He said. "I guess now is also the time to explain what is going on..." The rabbit digimon trailed off, taking another deep breath before continuing.

"Honestly, things were great after you guys had left. Without Lucemon or my...own influence, the reborn digimon were the nicest things alive, everyone was sharing, help to rebuild the world back to its former glory. Time for some reason became the same speed as the human worlds, probably due to Lucemon ripping a gaping big hole into it and a bit of the worlds bled into another." He said, causing the group to smile slightly, very happy that those months of their digital adventure had paid off quite well.

Something didn't add up to Tommy though."But if everything was okay, what happened?" He voiced his thoughts, and the rest of the team suddenly had the same look on their faces.

"I was getting to that." Turuiemon explained, holding his hand up in defense. "Anyway, two and a half years passed before suddenly everything went to hell. Digimon around the globe were suddenly becoming violent, lashing out at former friends and attacking completely innocent people. Since the sovereigns and just recently regained their power, the legendary warriors became scattered across the world, doing their best to keep those feral digimon from attacking others. It was successful...for a time." At this, Turuiemon's face became darker, sadder than before.

"The number of feral digimon kept increasing, kept getting stronger and more and more attacks happened and we couldn't be everywhere at once. We tried, yes, we oh so tried very hard, but it wasn't enough. Then to make matters worse, the feral digimon start to becoming smarter. They form groups, raids and plans to attack and pillage, before forming an entire army." He pulled out a tattered piece of clothing, showing the head of a SkullSatamon with six swords crossed behind it and a red ring surrounding the whole thing.

"This is their mark, a brand that they leave at the scenes of their crime. They began to call themselves the Deathly Sin. Of course, we decided to make forces of our own to counter-act them, to do our best to keep some form of peace. Before...before they came." He shuddered, shaking slightly. "One by one, six mega level digimon appeared out of no-where, as if not of this digital world. They took control of the Deathly Sin and became the Sin Generals, but you guys probably know them better as their former name: The Demon Lords."

Shock coursed through their beings. Lucemon had been but one of the Demon Lords, as what had been explained to them by Baromon in the Tunnel of History. One of them had managed to almost destroy the digital world twice, and now there wasn't one..but six?

"What about Kazemon and them?" Zoe suddenly said, worried about her partner spirit. "They kept fighting back...right?" She choked on the last word as Turuiemon look away dejectedly.

"They..they did their best...but they had fallen into a trap were all six of the generals were there. They did their best and fought valiantly...but in the end, they were defeated, and became spirits once again." He said, shaking at the very memory when he had walked into his chamber to find them there, broken into spirits once more. Digimon he had almost come to call as friends, who had forgiven him for his darker times and who helped each other, reverted to forms that couldn't be restored ever again, and their power can only be used by the Legendary Warriors human counterparts. He had almost stormed out to go find them in pure rage.

Zoe had a choked look on her face, her hands covering his mouth in surprise of what had happened. Takuya nearly growled, clenching his fists so hard that he was sure any hard that he would draw blood. Kouji looked like he wanted to punch something and Kouichi had a look on his face similar to Zoe's. Tommy was almost at tears at the thought of his now broken partner, and J.P nearly yelled out in surprise.

Waiting a moment for that new information to sink in, Turuiemon slowly began to continue. "Things began getting worse and worse after that. Without the leading powers on our side, it was getting harder and harder to fight back. A week ago though, Ophanimon called for a conference and told us that she had finally reconnected the digital world to the human world, and that we could really use your guys help. I volunteered to go. I was attacked multiple times, doing my best to stay alive whilst in the human world to try to find you guys. I nearly spent three days before I finally caught Takuya walking to the park." He finished, sitting down cross legged on the floor.

"Anyway," Turuiemon started. "The point is that the Digital world is in big trouble, and since they could chase me into your world to try and stop me, I'm guessing your world might be in trouble too. So here's the question I need to ask you all: Will you help us again? It might take a few months, or even a year to defeat them. There is also no time speeding up now, so you'll be gone, even missing for a long time in the human world and away from your families." The champion celestial digimon pleaded.

For a moment, the room became deathly silent, so quiet that if one listened close enough they could hear the heartbeat of their companions. The group looked at each other, emotions and words flashing silently behind each of their eyes, trying to decide on a unanimous agreement. A nod was shared between everyone, before all eyes turned to their leader, who stood up and walked over to Turuiemon.

Takuya looked at the digimon wordlessly, before a soft smile etched its way across his face. He knelt down down the sitting digimon and relayed their answer.

"Your kidding, right? Of course we'll help!" He shouted, surprising Turuiemon. "But..what about your-?"

"You forget Turuiemon, but we've done this before." Kouji interrupted, stating in a-matter-of-fact-tone. "Last time we didn't know time wasn't going to pass back home, and we made our peace with being away from them for a while. Another trip isn't all that much of a difference."

"Besides," Zoe added in, tilting her head and giving an ear to ear grin. "You guys helped us become who we are today and meet each other! Without this adventure who knows what would have happened to us." At this, Turuiemon smiled, barely holding back tears of joy. Finally, they just might have a chance!

"Look, this is our world too! We're gonna fight for it like we did before!" Takuya declared, the remainder of the group behind them nodding.

"You guys..." Their digital companion choked. "Thank you."

YEAH! BEGINNING IS OVERRR! Two updates in a year-I must be getting faster, or more into this.
