Let it Die -Starset
We Are The Broken – Seventh Day Slumber
Samantha sat on the bench in front of the main entrance, waiting for Eric. Rubbing her hands together, trying to regain some sort of warmth. Even if it just for a second. Letting the wind pass through her hair she looks to the moon. To the moon she said, "Too those I can't see, please hear me. All I ask you not to let me get me. To protect those, I care for please if needed, let me die."
"No" Eric said standing across from her. Looking Eric over trying to reassure that he was there Samantha saw that his usually braid was gone and his hair fell around him like a veil. His clothing simple black outfit with his leather boots. He had a healing wound of his left cheek. His eyes were glowing with deep anger.
Eric took three large steps and pulled Samantha from the bench into his arms. He bent down and looked her in the eye. "You will not die, I forbid you from dying." He says this with a growl, violently shaking her. "Don't you understand how much you mean to me."
Tears flow from Samantha's eyes as she breaks, her legs giving out. Catching her Eric lowers them both to the ground and holds her. Her arms warped around his neck, fingers devolving into his silky hair. Her tear soak face buried in his neck. He places a soft kiss on her head and wraps his strong arms around her waist. Carefully with his clawed fingers he runs them down her spine.
Lips against her hair he said, "You are everything"
Shaking her head slightly she said, "I don't want to be the reason for any more deaths. Too many already lost their lives, I have no right to ask for any more."
Slowly moving his arm to go under her legs, he lift her into his arms and stand. He heads into the manor and towards their room. He lets out a soft growl, trying to comfort his crying mate. Once they were in their room, he carefully sits Samantha on the bed and kneels in front of her. As if not to scare her Eric raises his hand slowly and wipes away the tears that continued to run down her face. With gentleness that not a lot of men possess he cradles her face and looks at her. Really looks at her.
Her face was stained with tears, her hair stuck to her wet face. Her bottom lip was red and was cut, most likely due to her biting it. She was in his favorite dress. A dark purple that made her look so feminine and soft. Like if he hugged her hard enough he would become one with her.
It took all his will power to not pull her into his arms, not to provide her comfort. With a stern face he said, "You speak nonsense, explain to me how live were lost because of you?" He decided not to comfort her until her understood her.
She tried to take a deep breath, but it was more of a gasp for air. "My mom died because of me. I was five years old when he found me. I didn't know about my father or my gift. I was in a field by my house picking flowers for the dinner table." She let out a pain filled gasp as memories flooded her mind. Her eyes became unseeing as she went into the past. Her voice took on a childlike tone as more pain leaked into her voice, "He just walked up to me and sat down, he seems so nice and normal. He asked me my name and wanted to meet my mommy so we could be friends. I had never had a friend before. My mom never let me meet or talk to another person. I was only allowed to be in the house or the field. I was so happy I grabbed his hand and took him home."
Samantha is sobbing into her hands, forgetting that Eric is even there. Tears freely fall from her eyes, Eric could no longer stop his instincts. He pulled her into his arms and growled to try and provide some comfort. I did not say anything because he knew she need to get this off her chest. She took some dispirit breaths trying to get herself back into the present. Once her breathing has gotten some what regular she continued her story, "When I got home and mom saw him she immediately grabbed me to get me away from him. She was yelling for him to leave. We tried to run but he just came and sliced her down. She hit the ground, I sat down and tried to shaker, telling her to wake up. She didn't, blood just slowly soaked me and the floor."
Sobbing too much to continue, she buries her in his neck. Eric hold her tighter and said, "Hush now, I got you say no more. This wasn't your fault. It is his, this was never your fault." Growling he slowly rocked back and continued this until Samantha cried herself to sleep. Slowly he stands and lays her on the bed. Looking down Eric realizes how small and fragile Samantha really is. Shedding his clothes, he gather's Samantha into his arms and watch her while she sleeps. He stayed up all night to keep the memories away while she sleeps.
