AN: I don't own MI High, or anything else you recognise. I just own Demi, Jamie, David, Amanda, Patterson and Amy. Anyway, at the end of this chapter, I'll be answering your questions from the comments, so stick around for that, if you want!

Demi's POV

Stella glanced at me, and spoke again, "We're running out of time. We need someone in that chair or we'll face a possible nuclear wipeout."

"Then it has to be me." My dad said. I shook my head and tried to speak, but found that I couldn't. I was speechless. "Stella, you're in charge. It's your call."

"My head's with you, but my heart's with Aneisha. If I say yes, we lose the real you, and Demi loses her father." Stella calmly said.

"And if you say no, we lose everything. Stella, listen, I'll still be Frank. Just a new Frank."

"I like the old Frank." Stella replied.

"Retentive's coming back." Tom quietly said. Stella sighed, and said,

"Zoe, any luck with Bland?"

"He's playing the same game, over and over. Same result." Zoe said. I put my hand out, and spoke into the communicator to my father.

"Dad? If you're gonna do this, I want you to know that I love you. I never say it enough, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being such a disappointment to you. I'm sorry for not being more like what you wanted. I'm sorry for constantly breaking the rules. I'm sorry."

"Demi, you're not a disappointment. Nobody's perfect. You have always been yourself, and I admire that in you. You don't have to be sorry. I wouldn't have wanted a better daughter. And when this over, I'll still be your father. Just a different one. Tom?" My dad said, and I handed Tom the communicator.

"Yeah?"

"Look after her. I know what she's like. And if Amy tries anything, do everything in your power to keep her safe."

"Yes sir." Tom replied, handing the communicator back to Stella, and hugging me.

"Aneisha, get Frank back in the straps." Stella quietly said, as tears ran down my face. "That's an order." Once the sound of the machine stopped, we sat in silence for a while. I sobbed quietly into my hands, as Tom eventually moved. He kissed my forehead, and wiped my tears away. He shushed me, before returning to looking at the computer. "Right, I have the data. I'm accessing the data vaults." He hit a few keys on his keyboard, "And we're in." Stella then spoke into the communicator.

"Stay focussed Aneisha. Retentive's headed away, get Bland in that chair while you have the chance." A few moments later, she spoke again. "Aneisha, come on, it's nearly 5pm. We need to give Bland his memories back so we figure out how to stop the launch."

"Yeah, we get it. We need to stop the nuclear blast, before we end up with armageddon. Aneisha, you need to act quickly, Retentive's coming back." I said.

"OK, got it." Aneisha responded. I sighed, and put my head in my hands.

"I think I need some air. I'll be on communication line 4 if you need me." I said, getting up and entering the lift. Upon reaching the school, I left the main building and sat on a bench by the gate. "You OK?" Jamie's voice asked. I turned, and shook my head. She sighed, and sat next to me. "I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier. I forgot what you're going through. I was never very emotionally involved with my mother, and I never met my father, so I don't know what kind of bond you have with your dad."

"It's OK. I'm not mad Jai. You're like my sister, I couldn't be mad at you." I replied, and she hugged me.

"Thank god. I thought I was going to have get you a gift or something. I can tell David to cancel the flowers now." She joked, and pulled away. I smiled, and she bit her lip. "So, what's wrong then?"

"My dad's lost his memory. It's a long story. Basically, to prevent a nuclear bomb from going off, we had to plug someone into this memory wipe chair, and Stella agreed to let my dad do it. When I next see him, he'll have forgotten everything."

"Seriously? And Stella thought that was a good idea? Is she insane?" Jamie asked.

"No, she's right. She's just doing her job." I replied.

"You're handling this surprisingly well Dems. If that was me, I would have slapped her, several times, in the face." Jamie answered.

"I wanted to. But I couldn't. I want to appear strong, but all I can do is cry."

"That's fair enough." She said, as David wandered over. "Aren't you meant to be in detention?" She asked, looking up at him.

"What? Why? I asked. David sighed.

"I hit Byron. He was saying that you were over-reacting, and that it was all an act to get attention. I lost it." He explained.

"It was very funny. You should've been there. Especially since David can't hit anything to save his life." Jamie laughed.

"Shut up. Anyway, McNab saw, and has given me detention for the rest of the week." David answered, sitting down next to Jamie.

"Well, you're a moron for hitting him in the first place." Jamie replied, patting my arm. "Dems, we've got something to tell you."

"What now? More bad news?" I asked.

"Kinda." David trailed off, as he spotted McNab. "I'm gonna have to go. Later guys!" He said, running off.

"What's happened Jai?" I asked. She frowned and said,

"It's about Amanda. Her father's flight crashed. He didn't make it."

AN: And I'm going to leave it there, hope you enjoyed! Now, on to the questions!

Doommonger 22: Yes, my cover image is indeed Lucy Hale. She's what I always imagined Demi to look like from when I first came up with this character way back in season 3. In case anyone's interested, I always imagined Carrie Underwood as Jamie, Dan Howell as Harry/Patterson and David Tennant as David.

TomAneisha4EVER: No, it's definitely Dr Retentive. I looked it up. :)

Anyway, thanks for reading, if you have any other questions, just ask in the comments, and I'll answer them in the next chapter.
