AN: I don't own MI High, or anything else you recognise. I just own Demi, Jamie, David, Amanda, Patterson and Amy.

Demi's POV

The rain falling against the window woke me up. As I listened carefully, I could hear shouting coming from outside, and the loud barking of a dog. I left my room, and crept downstairs. I saw a woman sat on the sofa, her head in her hands. She glanced up as I entered the room, knocking over a cup on my way in. "Demi? What are you doing up? It's past midnight." She asked. "Where's my Dad?" I said, noticing his absence.

"He's gone for a walk." She said, getting up. "I know you're only 10, but I think you can look after yourself." As she went to leave, I called,

"Stella, don't leave me! Please." She sighed.

"Demi, I think you are perfectly fine to look after yourself. Anyway, your dad will be back soon." She put her coat collar and walked out, leaving me alone in the cold house. As I went to sit down, I heard a loud bang upstairs. Dad, come back soon, please. I shakily walked upstairs, keeping my back to the wall, so no one could sneak up on me. Upon discovering nothing, I turned to walk back downstairs. As I did so, I felt a cold hand grab my neck, pulling me backwards. I gasped for air as whoever was behind me whispered, "Found you Demi."

I shot up, shaking furiously. It was just a dream. I looked up at the tiny window, and saw that the sun still hadn't come up. Would this night never end? Everyone other than me appeared to still be asleep. As I got up, Jamie stirred and opened her eyes sleepily. "Dems? What's going on?" She whispered.

"Nothing Jai, go back to sleep." I whispered back. She nodded, and closed her eyes. I wandered over to the window, and put my hand on the bars. "Please find me. Anyone, out there, just get me out here." I said under my breath. After waiting for what felt like hours, I returned to the corner, and then I remembered. Justin seemed a bit... odd. He reminded me a lot of someone, but I couldn't think who. I sighed, and entered my previous position of nuzzling into Tom, and closed my eyes. Hopefully morning would come quicker this way.

"Demi? It's time to get up. DEMI!" Jamie's alarm clock style voice yelled.

"What? I'm up." I murmured, rubbing sleep from my eyes. "What time is it?"

"At a guess, 11am. I'm just going off the sun here." David's calm voice answered. I sighed loudly, and got up. Jamie looked exhausted.

"You OK?" I asked. She nodded, and sat down on the bed, next to Byron and his guitar.

"Play that, and I break it. Got that?" Jamie asked, gesturing at the guitar. Byron meekly nodded, and David looked at me.

"Do you think there's something up? Maybe you should try talking to her?" He quietly asked. I nodded, and asked Byron to move. He complied, and went to talk with David.

"Is everything actually OK Jamie?" I said. She sighed, and shook her head.

"They're holding a memorial for my mother." She said.

"When is it?" I asked.

"It was 2 hours ago, if David's timing is right." She said, her voice cracking.

"Oh, Jamie, I'm sorry." I replied.

"It's OK. It's not your fault." She said, looking back up, tears in her eyes. I hugged her, as she sobbed lightly into my shoulder. I could feel every eye in the room staring at us, but for once I didn't mind. Jamie eventually pulled away, sniffing, but not crying anymore. She smiled at me, and looked around, "What are you staring at? Never seen a girl cry before?" She asked everyone. They almost immediately looked away, and continued what they had been doing before.

Patterson's POV

Well, would someone care to tell me whose idea it was to break into a prison? You're trying get Sam out so you can help Demi, Harry, I kept reminding myself. Why must I have a soft side when it comes to her? I feel like I have a duty to help save her. But did that include dangling off a building in the middle of the night? I kept climbing, swearing that if I made it out of this alive, Demi would so owe me. I eventually arrived at the correct window, and spoke, "Sam? Sam are you awake?" The brown-haired girl I'd met earlier appeared behind the bars. "Harry? Is that you?" She quietly asked.

"Who else would it be?" I replied, beginning to saw the bars. This looked a hell of a lot easier in the movies, just saying. After catching my hand on the blade five times, I cut a hole big enough for Sam to climb out of. She easily got through and looked down. "How are we going to do this?" I asked.

"Easy." She said, jumping on my back. "We go the way you came up." As I begrudgingly obeyed her orders, she spoke to me. "Why did you break me out? Who are you?"

"I'm a friend of your sister. I owe her a favour." I explained.

"Oh, you know the Golden Child?" She answered.

"Yup. Why do you call Demi that?" I asked. She didn't reply until we landed on the ground.

"I don't call Demi that. She's like me, a result of our mother's wish for power. I call Amanda that. She's the one my mother wants, Demi and I aren't needed. It just happened that we escaped before she could do anything to us. I went to a foster home, and Demi went to her father. Amanda was the last piece of the jigsaw, the one with everything Amy ever wanted, even if Amanda doesn't know it."

AN: And I'm going to end it here! Thanks for reading! Now, after reading your comments, I have decided to do a sequel to this when season 7 airs. So, I have 2 questions for you guys. Number one, which three of my characters would you like to be in the sequel? You have the options of Demi, Jamie, David, Amanda, Patterson or Amy. I'm choosing three for a reason, so I decided to ask now. Number two, what would you like me to do until season 7 airs? Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Thanks again!
