AN: I don't own MI High, or anything else you may recognise. I just own Demi, Jamie, David, Patterson, Amy and Amanda.
Patterson's POV
Three days had passed since I broke Sam out of prison. Ever since then, she'd been informing me about what she knew about Amy; her, Amanda and Demi's mother, and this 'Golden Child' thing. Apparently to run the machine, you needed 3 people with a DNA link to plug themselves in. That was why Amy had made Demi and Sam, in order to power this machine. When Frank intervened and took Demi away, that halted plans until Amy had tracked her down a few months ago. Amanda had been enhanced, she had heightened senses. "Harry? When are you going to take me to meet my sister?" Sam asked, looking up from the tablet in her hands.
"When she gets back from Uttland." I answered. Sam looked remarkably like Demi, just paler and with lighter hair.
"Where's that?" She asked.
"No idea." I replied. Actually, shouldn't she be back by now? I hadn't heard from her, or Frank. I bit my lip, and thought of an idea. "Sam? How are you at disguises?"
"Not bad. Why?"
"We're going to sneak into MI9."
Demi's POV
Four days. Four days of hell on earth. Jamie was unbelievably stressed, and lost it over the easiest things, whilst David sat miserably by her side, not knowing quite what to do. I never moved from my corner. I hadn't eaten in days, and found it impossible to sleep. No one bothered to come and try to move me, Tom had given up on day three. He was now sat on the bed, hitting his make-shift keyboard. It was boiling hot during the day, and freezing cold during the night. I hated it here. Byron was still singing, ignoring Jamie's violent warnings. I was sweating from places I didn't even know I could sweat from! I sighed quietly, as a noise came from outside. It sounded like that stupid bird we were looking for when we got arrested! Almost everyone looked at Mr Flatley. "It wasn't me." He said, as the noise sounded again. Mr F and Dan ran over to the window, as Mr F joyfully said, "Look! A Barking Eagle! Isn't it magnificent?"
"No one cares. It's just a bird." Jamie snapped. Byron changed song, singing this time about Aneisha, until Aneisha lost it and tried to steal the guitar off him. Mr Flatley went to stop her, as Tom joined Dan by the window. I sighed again, as Arme walked in, shortly followed by two guards. "Remember children, name, rank and number." Mr Flatley confidently said, strutting over to Arme. "Kenneth Armstrong Flatley, Headmaster, and I don't have a number." He said.
"You still won't tell us who you are working for?" Arme asked.
"Because we're not working for anyone! Now let us out!" Jamie yelled, getting up. David put his hand on her shoulder, and pulled her back down, telling her to be quiet.
"Our experimental truth gas will loosen your tongue." Arme said, lifting up Mr Flatley by his jumpsuit. "We'll take this one first." Mr Flatley followed her out of the room, obviously terrified, and then the door was shut again. Dan returned to looking out the window, and then glanced at me, gesturing for Tom to go to me. He did so, and sat by my side. "Your dad's here, but he can't get to us. Can I persuade you to move now?" He said. I looked at him, and nodded. He smiled, and kissed my forehead. "Good girl. Now, see if you can get Jamie to help us. David too." He said, getting back up. I forced myself up, stretching my legs. They hurt like hell. I walked over to where Jamie and David were sat. David looked up at me. "I'm guessing you want us to help with an escape plan?" He asked. I nodded, and he smiled. "You've got it Dems. We'll do whatever you want." Jamie nodded in agreement, and I joined my team in the opposing corner. I saw Dan hand Tom what looked like a robot bird, in time for Arme to return with Mr Flatley. "Don't worry students, it's all quite straight forward." Mr F said, his voice sounding higher pitched then usual.
"What's up with his voice?" Aneisha asked. I shrugged, as Arme turned to look at me and Aneisha.
"Helium. I think I know how we can escape." Dan whispered, causing us to smile.
"You." She coldly said, pointing at Aneisha. The guards took Aneisha by the arms, and dragged her out of the room.
"No, no, no." Dan said.
"You'll be next girl!" She said, pointing at me. Tom clutched my wrist, attempting to step in front of me. Jamie also joined him, glaring at Arme. She then left, shutting the door.
"If they use the truth gas on her, we've had it." Tom said, not letting go of my hand.
"Yeah, this is how we escape." Dan said, with a strange look on his face. Maybe he was afraid they'd try to hurt Zoe? Dan explained the plan to us, and gave us each jobs. Jamie had to gather as many bed sheets as she could carry for our back-up plan, David was rallying up the students, whilst I was helping out Jamie. Dan would tell Flatley that this was part of the survival weekend, Tom was going to convince Byron to give up his guitar to get the wire to open the door, while Zoe would be helping Dan.
After getting everything we needed, Dan lined us up and explained the plan. After doing that, he told us to set up and get ready. My position was by Jamie behind Mr Flatley. We entered our fighting poses, just in case. Tom then opened the door, and Dan pulled it open using Melissa's clipboard. A guard walked in, and Zoe took him out with Byron's guitar. After tying him up, Dan instructed us all to follow him. We obeyed, and followed him down all the grey corridors. I hope he knew where he was going, cause I had no idea. We kept running for a while, heading further and further down, until we eventually made it into the sewers. It stank, but if it meant we could escape, I was all for it. After walking for ages, and watching Jamie slip in whatever was on the floor many times, I saw daylight. We made it! We were in the forest where we began. Thank god! "So we got out of the Helberg, now how do we get out the country?" Aneisha asked.
"We swim?" Jamie asked.
"I think I can help with that." A voice behind me said. I turned and saw my dad stood by the tree. I quietly screamed, and flung my arms around him.
"I thought I'd never see you again." I said, tears beginning to form in my eyes. He smiled and hugged me back.
"Me too. You're not hurt are you?" He asked, stroking my hair.
"No. I'm fine. Jamie and Tom looked after me." I said.
"Oh thanks, what about me?" David asked. Jamie laughed and said,
"You were no use at all David." David looked offended, and then chuckled.
"Thanks Jai." He said, before wandering off to join Byron and Melissa.
"Frank!" Mr F said, noticing him. My dad immediately put on his glasses, and smiled at him. "Did the school send you?"
"Yeah. The school thought we might be a bit tired after the escape part of the holiday, so they send him to take us home. Isn't that right?" Dan asked.
"Yeah, that's right. Well done." My dad said.
"Tired? I've never felt more alive in my life!" Mr Flatley cheerfully said, "That was amazing! Come on, let's go back and escape again!"
"Hell no! I want to go home!" Jamie interrupted, grabbing his arm so he couldn't run back. My dad then wandered over to talk to Tom, and I looked around. I saw the Prisoner stood in the forest, and he nodded at me. 'Amy would be proud of you'. He mouthed, before turning and running off. Zoe shortly ran after him, leaving me very confused. Tom walked over to me, and smiled. "I think you lost this." He said, pulling something out of his pocket. I almost immediately recognised it. My necklace. It was still broken, but it meant a lot that he had found it. "Where...?" I trailed off.
"It was in the corridor outside the cell. I saw it, and thought you might want it back." He said, handing it to me. I put it in my pocket and hugged him.
"Thank you." I whispered, lightly kissing him when I pulled away. He smiled again, and said,
"It's OK." He paused, and continued, "Demi, I want to promise you that whatever happens I will try to protect you. Sure, I can't fight that well, and I'm not intimidating, but I'll try my hardest. You can always come to talk to me, no matter what." I nodded, and kissed him again.
"Demi? Patterson called while you were away. He's worked out Amy's plan, and has someone you might want to meet." My father said, interrupting us.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"Her name's Samantha Hudgens. I think you know that name." Oh yes. I do indeed.
