AN: I don't own MI High, or anything else you recognise. I just own Demi, Jamie, David, Amanda, Patterson and Amy.

Demi's POV.

I was at school the following morning, wandering around without Jamie and David as they were both still in Geneva. I couldn't bring myself to go and find Tom, I was still terrified of myself after yesterday. As I entered my English class, my pencil went off. I sighed and left, wondering what my Dad wanted. I got to HQ and discovered my entire team was there. "What's going on?" I asked.

"Stella's called us in. Something's happened." Dan said. I nodded, and the team headed to MI9 HQ, where Stella' s office was. Stella loaded a chart on the screen and said, "Yesterday there was a spike in Kappa radiation. Possibly a false reading, but we have to check it out."

"Because Kappa radiation is a result of a Heavy Extranium Reactor." Tom interrupted. Stella nodded.

"Exactly." She said.

"But no one would be stupid enough to actually build one. Even small quantities of Kappa radiation can damage the fabric of time and space." Tom said.

"KORPS scientific wing STERNUM were developing a such a device 10 years ago under the orders of scientist General Doctor Steinberg." My father said, putting up a picture on the board of an old man. "The same Steinberg KORPS demanded we release a while back?" Aneisha asked.

"Yes." Stella nodded.

"So they might be trying to build another nuclear reactor?" Dan said.

"We should go talk to Steinberg. Can I go? Please let me go." Tom said.

"What's got you so excited?" Aneisha asked.

"Are you kidding? He invented the Odysseus robot, the man's a scientific genius!" Tom said.

"An evil scientific genius Tom." Dan replied.

"Hey, nobody's perfect." Tom said getting up.

"Definiately not evil men who invent machines that destroy time and space. But don't worry, he made a robot from rubbish, therefore we must love him." I muttered, following my team to the MI9 prison. Inside a cell all by himself was Steinberg. By the amount of security I'd seen on my way in, he was obviously a very dangerous man, if you couldn't already tell. "Of course the original idea for the Odysseus was to create a robot using only recycled components." Steinberg said, answering Tom's question about the Odysseus robot. "So you created an android using tin cans and old mobile phones? That's brilliant." Tom said.

"You are too kind. Tell me, when did you come across one?" Steinberg asked.

"It tried to kill us." Dan interrupted.

"The uses KORPS put my inventions to, I'll carry the shame for the rest of my life. Believe me when I say I rarely knew the purpose of the projects I was working on." Steinberg insisted.

"Oh please, why would you invent stuff if you didn't know exactly what it was for?" Dan questioned.

"They're trying to build another Heavy Extranium Reactor." Tom quietly said.

"Then they'll do it without me!" Steinberg replied. "I won't be manipulated again."

"Shame you didn't feel that way when you built your Doomsday Reactor." Dan said.

"Dan." Zoe cautioned.

"Shut up Dan. Let him talk." I said.

"Thank you." Steinberg said, looking at me. "It was a terrible mistake. When I realised what it was capable of, I shut it down and destroyed all the plans. That's what I was doing when MI9 arrested me."

"Was there anyone on your team who could have built one without you?" Zoe asked.

"No. Well, there was one young man with promise. He split an atom using a Rubik's cube, a digital watch and a magnifying glass. A first class mind." Steinberg answered.

"Indeed. What was his name?" I asked.

"I believe it was Nick Tesla."

We were back at HQ, and Tom was looking up this Nick Tesla guy. "It's like he vanished." Tom said after minutes of searching, and not finding a location for him. " The Evil old man's info turned out to be useless. What a surprise." Dan said.

"We don't know that. Nick Tesla might just be in hiding, or we might not have an address for him." I suggested.

"We also don't know he's evil." Zoe said.

"I thought after your sister you'd be less quick to judge people. You too Demi, surely you can't trust everyone after everything that's happened?" Dan replied. I shrugged.

"Something wasn't right. I just can't put my finger on it." Aneisha said.

"At 21 Tesla was a successful scientist. Then 2 years ago, he disappeared. The usual search protocols can't find anything." Tom said.

"What about family? Is there anyone else who might know where he is?" I asked. Tom searched and pulled up another file. "No sign of Nick Tesla, but his grandfather Herbert was just checked into an old people's home." Dan said, reading from the screen.

"I feel another school trip coming on." Tom said as the 5 of us left HQ together. As we got out the cupboard, Dan, Zoe and Aneisha went off, leaving me and Tom alone. "Demi, is there a reason you're avoiding me?" Tom asked. I looked down, and shook my head. "Demi, what is it? What's happened?" He asked, making me look at him. I sighed and said,

"I threw a cup at David."

"Right, and...?" Tom said.

"All he was doing was trying to help keep me safe, and I lost it at him. That makes me dangerous. I'm avoiding you so if I snap again, it won't be you who gets hurt." I answered. He sighed and hugged me. "You stupid girl. Throwing a cup at David does not make you dangerous, it makes you normal. And even if you were dangerous, I'd still love you. Because you are you. There you go, I love you. I love you unconditionally. And anyway, you can't be much more dangerous than Jamie. Have you seen her with a book? Lethal." He said, letting go of me. I laughed and said, "I love you too." I lightly kissed him, before taking his hand. "Now come on, we have a world to save." I said, as we walked after Dan and the others. Maybe Patterson was right. Staying here was the right thing to do.

AN: I'm going to end it there! Hope you enjoyed! So, I can promise a big shock coming in about 4 chapters, so look forward to that! It involves Demi and Amy if you were wondering. Anyway, thanks for reading!
