XLVI.

Kagome huffed and glared at her mate and brother, "Fine I will tell you but first let's go home I would rather tell everyone at one time than have to repeat it."

Both males looked at her with narrowed eyes but reluctantly agreed. Sesshomaru lifted Kohaku then formed his cloud under his feet and waited for Kagome and Kouga to get on so they could get home quicker.

Kagome grumbled, "Of course he is going to want to get home as soon as possible so that he can find out what is going on."

Both males smirked knowing she was not happy about the situation Sesshomaru grunted, "Indeed mate the quicker you tell us what has become of that cursed jewel the better."

Kagome just glared at them both then returned her attention to the two pups she was currently holding. They landed at the castle gate a few hours later. Kagome was greeted by a red and black blur barreling into her legs as well as relived smiles from everyone else.

Shippo looked up at her with all of the innocents of a child, "Mama what are those bundles and why does one of them smell like Inuyasha?"

Kagome sighed and ushered them into the palace, "I will explain everything once we are all comfortable."

Shippo and Rin sped off to make themselves comfortable while the adults followed at a more sedate pace.

Megumi spoke up noticing the tenseness in the three returning, "I suppose I am not going to like what has to be said am I?"

Sesshomaru grunted in agreement, "You will not be pleased at all once you hear what has taken place."

Sakura grumbled, "Please at least tell me that evil bastard is dead."

Kouga grinned, "Oh he is dead alright."

Ayame sighed in relief, "Thank goodness."

Sango tilted her head curiously, "Then why are you all so upset?"

Miroku agreed, "Yes we should be celebrating."

Sesshomaru shook his head, "There is one thing you are all forgetting about."

Everyone gasped in remembrance, "THE JEWEL!"
