Demi's POV
We were stood outside the old folks home where Nick Tesla's grandfather Herbert was. It was really cold outside, and me, being a genius, had forgotten my coat. My teeth were chattering furiously, and my legs were shivering beneath me. Tom glanced at me, and pulled me to him, attempting to keep me warm. Eventually, McNab managed to get the owner of the old folks home to let us in. Thank God! Aneisha sat with Mr Tesla while I ended up talking to an old woman, who seemed to really like travelling. We had a very boring conversation about New York Subways for about 15 minutes until the head of the old people's home said, "Right visit over! Get out."
"15 Minutes? What kind of visit is that?" McNab asked.
"The only one you're getting. Now get out." The woman replied.
"Right, you heard the man. Out." McNab said. I sighed, and got up, as the old woman grabbed my wrist.
"Be careful Demi. My son can't protect you forever." She said letting go.
"What did you say?" I asked.
"Demi, come on, we have to go." Mr Flatley said. I nodded and followed the others out. Did she know me? I hung back with my team once we'd left. "He didn't know where Nick was. He just kept telling me about Nick checking his pockets." Aneisha said, putting her hands in her pockets, and pulling out a piece of paper. "Help me out of here, and I'll help you find Nicky." She read. We all glanced at the home, how the hell were we going to get back in there and get him out, without being spotted?
We eventually made it back in, and found Tesla's room. "Do you think I should...?" Tom began.
"Oh come on, there's not going to be security on a door..." Dan said, grabbing the handles, and was then was knocked to the floor by the electric shock.
"Maybe we should let Tom." Aneisha said.
"Do it." Dan said, jumping back on his feet as Tom removed the charge on the door using his spy-pod.
"Right, who's going first?" Tom said as Zoe walked past him into the room.
"Zoe apparently." I said, following her in. Zoe put her hand over the sleeping Tesla's mouth, waking him up.
"I thought I'd see you again. MI9?" Tesla asked. I nodded, and he got up. "Right, let's wake the others."
"The Others?" Zoe and I asked.
"We're all prisoners here. Get us all out, and I'll tell you where Nick Tesla is."
After several minutes of rounding up all the old people, we had successfully rescued everyone. As we went to leave, the head of the old people's home entered. "Visiting hours are over." She said, entering a fighting position.
"Tom, Aneisha get everyone out. Me, Demi and Zoe will deal with these guys." Dan said. They nodded, and ran outside, as I faced up to one of the head's bodyguards. I ducked his punch, and kicked his legs, grabbing his arms and pushing him to the floor, knocking him out. I'm learning! A few months ago, I wouldn't have had a clue what I was doing when it came to fighting. The three of us then joined Aneisha and Tom outside, locking the gate. "Right, we've kept our end of the bargain, tell us where Nick Tesla is." Aneisha said, looking at Tesla. "He's right here. I'm Nick Tesla." He replied.
"You can't be! You must be 60!" Zoe said.
"On my next birthday, I'll be 25 years old. There was an accident at the reactor, Kappa radiation leaked out ageing the entire scientific team 50 Years in minutes." Mr Tesla said.
"Excuse me for not believing you Mr Tesla, but we did just rescue you from an old people's home." Dan said.
"But it's not an old people's home. It's a STERNUM prison. They keep us here locked up and registered as our own grandparents." Tesla said. I believe him. But if that's happening then we need to find the reactor soon, before it leaks again! "You want proof don't you? Well, I know the location of the Heavy Extranium Reactor."
"Nick Tesla's information checks out. We know where the reactor is." Zoe said to Stella, who's office we were stood in yet again. "All the scientists were at the STERNUM prison. They've been held there to keep quiet since the accident." Dan said. "Some of them tried to escape, but we're too old to pull it off."
"One old lady stole a bit of the extranium to get to us. But that meant she kept ageing, she can't remember what she did with it." Aneisha said.
"A full assault makes sense Frank! If that reactor melts, it'll destroy half of Europe!" Stella said. "The last time we launched a grand assault on KORPS we lost everyone." My dad said.
"That was 10 years ago! History doesn't repeat itself." Stella replied.
"Yet here we are fighting KORPS again." My dad stated.
"What do you suggest?" Stella asked.
"Send in my team covertly to shut down the reactor first. Your team can follow us in afterwards."
"But they're young, inexperienced." She replied.
"I've been doing this job for over half my life! I am not inexperienced!" I interrupted.
"Be quiet Demi." My father said. I sighed, as Tom said,
"She does know we're here right?"
"I'll be leading them, and there's no one I'd rather have my back." My dad said looking at all 5 of us. "Great to have you on board Frank, but there's a slight problem." Aneisha said.
"Yeah, none of us actually know how to shut down a Heavy Extranium Reactor." Tom said.
"Nick Tesla?" My dad asked.
"He knows how to build one. STERNUM never bothered to figure out how to shut it down." Zoe explained.
"Actually, there is someone who knows how to shut it down." Tom said. "Steinberg."
"Oh God. Not the creepy evil man in the cage? I thought I'd never have to see him again." I muttered.
"Tom, he was the Scientist General at STERNUM, we can't trust him." Dan said.
"At present, Steinberg's our only option." My dad said, leading us out of the room and back to the prison.
