Ch. 6: A New Resolution
The heavy silence in the car seemed to thicken as time progressed, setting both her and the alien that she was with, more on edge as the time went on. The rain that steadily pelted on the windshield did nothing to ease her nerves, and she preferred it that way. The last thing she needed right now was to be blind-sided, she needed to be aware of all her surroundings.
In the shadows of her helmet, her shaded face scowled at her captor. Captor, ugh. That sure left a sour taste in her mouth. She hoped that with all her armor on that she at least weighed a ton, if not more on his, err, seat. Anything to piss him off she supposed.
The cries of Jamie's voice echoed in her mind and her heart gave a sharp twist in her chest. She tried to fade the painful memory to the back of her mind, and it worked, like it always seemed to. She guessed that, that was one of the few personality traits that she was extremely good at, pushing things away that hit too close to home. Jamie once again threatened to enter her mind, so she decided to ask herself a better question that was sure to distract herself: just what did these robots want from her?
She honestly wasn't sure which robot was on which side-which they seem to be- or why they just seemed to love to man handle her. One thing she figured out very quickly was that all the bad robots had red eyes, while the other side seemed to haveā¦.well, she didn't know yet. She obviously hadn't had the best of experiences so far with these odd creatures. The only difference that seemed noticeable was the wider range of colors on the other type of robots armor. The bad ones also seemed to have harsh, strait lines, that, and the only color in their wardrobe was black.
Wherever he was taking her, he was dead set on reaching as fast as he could. And as soon she had the chance-and she will have her chance-, he was a good as dead in her book. Maybe then in the robot after life he'll learn not to threaten and blackmail her, as people seem so interested in attempting to do. Needless to say it never worked out very well for the other party in her history.
She was pulled out of her thoughts as a rough voice called out to her from out of nowhere specific.
"What has your attention femme? Your heart-rate has increased significantly in the last five point three minutes."
She regarded him silently, as she was sure he was doing the same to her. Was he just morbidly curious or was he actually genuinely concerned?
She sincerely hopped that it was the latter. After all the things that he had done to get her to the point that she is at, the last thing that she wanted was his concern.
Instead of answering his question, she asked something else that's been on her mind. She dripped as much venom into her voice as she could and scowled harshly.
"Give me a reason why I shouldn't blow you sky high right now."
She knew he couldn't see her face, but then again, she was sure he didn't need to.
He snorted in disgust, "Stupid femme, you would blow yourself up in the process." He stated with a scoff. "If you even thought about having a chance of extinguishing my spark, I will surely bring you down with me. Besides have you forgotten? I have that precious little house of worms that you appear so fond of rigged with bombs."
She narrowed her eyes as she fought back a snarky remark. Indignation clashed with logic and it caused a storm to rage in her gut in a silent protest. Instead, she cleared her voice of all emotion. Sometimes that's the best option. The enemy can't get an accurate reading on you, and sometimes, it could piss them off just as bad as an insult could.
"Maybe we can see who the quicker draw is," she nonchalantly murmured.
He gave an amused sadistic chuckle having heard the comment," You may have more guts than most of the males of your species femme, but I assure you, that it will not be you who will succeed."
"Hn, then I suppose one day we'll see."
"Perhaps we shall human."
Silence reign over the car for the rest of rest of the ride, leaving her to her thoughts.
Perhaps, this- as a cruel event as this was-was a reminder that she was a Spartan. A soldier whose fate was decided when she was born, to be in a world of solitude, death, and war. She learned from the very start that the pathetic emotions such as affection, comfort, and love was a dangerous as well as forbidden rule that she would never allow herself to become victim to. Or at least, she had trusted herself to edge along the line and not become too attached to any one person. Yeah, guess that she had put a little too much trust in herself.
She glanced out the window, watching as the trees and other scenery passed by in blur. White dots decorated the window in clumps and she watched intently as one rolled from the top in a straight line down the bottom to join its friends.
Just a couple of days with a lonely widow and his child and they had her wrapped snugly around their finger. She let out a slightly annoyed sigh as she contemplated this fact. An icy cold chill wrapped itself around her stomach and seemed to settle itself there. She felt the light in her eyes dim as she reaffirmed her old and new resolve. Friendly, open and trigger-happy Spartan's who allowed them self's to care too much got killed. She had seen plenty of recruits start that way and end that way just a quickly. The smart, calculating one's always seemed to make it through and through. And that's what she was: a smart survivor.
After all, the path that all Spartans had to walk was one of solitude and one of no light.

She was different from any other human that he had met on this rust-ball they called a planet. As much as he hated to admit it, even to himself, she made him curious. What made her so special, that made both the Decepticons and Autobots have an all-out battle over? He intercepted no com chatter that gave any possible indication as to what is was about.
He had to admit to himself that he was quite the actor back there. Ever since he became rouge and cut off his ties with the Decepticon forces, he had lost his all resources. He didn't have much to work with and had somehow managed to bluff his way out of his one shot idea. He didn't really have the human's residence trigged with explosives, but then, she didn't need to know that.
After a while of considering his best options, he decided that now that he had a card, maybe he could get back in the game. There's no way that he could go back to the Decepticons as he was seen a traitor, and would be more likely to get vaporized on the spot. But, then again, if he offered this odd human that both sides seemed intent on getting to Megatron, they might just let him back in. However, he knew the outcome of this would be that he would be kept on a very tight leash, and after the freedom that he has experienced lately in over many millennia, he would definitely be under Megatron's command no-longer.
His best bet would be to offer her to the Autobots and become one of his long time enemies. It would most decidedly be no easy feat, but it was his best shot. If he was honest, he had never really hated the human race, but he had definitely never preferred them either. He couldn't stay rouge much longer; he was a helpless sparkling on this planet. With a war between two sides that inhabit the same one planet, and with no ship or wings of his own he was stuck here. And someone from his race would inevitably run into him, of that he was certain. Being an enemy of both sides would kill him pretty quickly; so, with his decision made, he sped more quickly along the freeway, carrying his hidden luggage, toward what he knew might be his only salvation.

Night had fallen quickly over time and it was almost morning, and her patience was starting to run thin. She hated being in a vehicle longer that she had to. How much farther is he planning on taking her? Even her butt was beginning to protest from the lack of circulation, though she refused to shift in place or even worse, massage it!
Her voice cut through the air like a knife as she voiced irritably, "How much longer exactly do we have to go before I become your sacrificial lamb?" she asked dryly as she raised one eye-brow and crossed her arms over her chest. The sound of the cool lightly scraping metal as she moved brought a strange sense of comfort to her that she could not explain.
He apparently needed her alive, and as so, would have to put up with her. So she would most certainly use that to her advantage as much as she could.
"Be quiet." He spoke strictly as he made a dead end for the conversation that had just begun.
"You know I've always heard about Disney Land." She drawled. "Why don't we go? I'll buy you some candy if that helps you lighten up." She smirked as she said this.
During the new era when human beings discovered that they were not alone in universe, and that the so called 'aliens' were not exactly the most friendly of people humanity had ever met, many places that where huge entertainment area's were instead used as labs or military bases. So basically, there were very, very few Disney lands left running optional in her time. Since she was abducted at such a young age, she had never been, not that she had ever had a specific urge to go there.
"Don't push it human," he snarled as he made a sharp turn, causing her to twist to keep her shoulder and head from bashing into the car door and window at the unexpected movement. She glared and repositioned herself back to her original position.
Her body ached a bit from staying in the same position from too long and she could feel the sharp painful lines of her guns and gadgets as the remained in their original positions that she had put them in. Parker assumed a while ago that Demitri was online and functional but was choosing to remain quiet for the time being. She knew him, and could guess that he was taking extra precautions to avoid being detected. This race that had found her and that was repeatedly trying to kill her was obviously just as advanced as her race was in her time period. If they were, the chances that they could pick up the signals of an AI in active activity were high. High enough that even she needed to keep an eye on Demitri and the situation.
The gravity of the situation hit her again, but with what felt like a more solid punch to the gut. The real reason she was assigned Demitri- as off record as it came- was because she had to protect him. He knew all the UNSC's well guarded secrets as well as the ones that they didn't want him to know. If the covenant found him and unlocked it all, the results for humanity would be unconceivable. Demitri was a special AI. When he was formed he had an uncontrollable glitch that downloaded everything from the UNSC's database. Nothing could stop him and when they had tried to erase most of it or even erase him, his shutdown system that was meant to keep the enemy out was then turned against the very person who created him. Dr. Halsey had then made the decision of choosing her, for reason's still unbeknownst this day to herself. The only thing that she had said as she handed over the very secured AI was that Parker reminded her of him.
She knew who Halsey was talking about; she and John were raised in the same division then. They had relied on each other to make it through the nightmares the experiments and the torture that was given. But when they were assigned to their first mission when they were 17 they went their separate ways. They had tried to keep in touch over the years but they both just kinda gave up in their own ways and for their own reasons. It's been a very, very long time since she had last seen John.
However, she had her own problems to worry about. Demitri was now a huge factor in her new mission. Her only purposes she had in life were to protect him and follow the UNSC's orders.
The sudden wail of sirens and the flash of red and blue lights shone in the side and rearview mirrors, making her corneas dilate for a second before adjusting.
The car she was in made a couple of sharp turns and she grabbed the handle of the top of car ceiling to steady herself. Identical sirens sounded and join their original follower, the result made a horrible out of rhythm sound that grated on her ears. She twisted and glanced back.
Big black vans that said N.E.S.T in bold white letters followed along quickly behind them. Her captor hadn't made any attempt- that she could tell -to lose them but sped along quickly enough to keep distance between them.
The sudden feeling of rocks and jarred bumps caused her to turn back and look through the windshield to see the sudden change in course. He had made a turn onto a worn but used dirt path which led into the woods that stood out like a sore thumb next to the dark smooth concrete of the highway. It was very easy to miss but at the same time not. Regardless of the bumps and uneven ground she felt him press his accelerator. The short but fast burst of speed caused her neck to yank back a little, and she swore silently.
She risked another glance back; the group of black van's easily followed the course her captor suddenly took. To her surprise, they looked as though they were prepared for this change of course.
Why wasn't her captor shooting at them? She knew he had the ammo and weapons to do so if he wished. No, he had something else in mind. They were clearly in his enemies' territory and they weren't too happy of it by the looks of it. But when she focused on the equally black clad man through his window she could read his hesitation as well as to why their enemy was not shooting. So in the end, the black van's followed along quickly, trying to catch up but stay a distance as well.
Trees flashed by quickly and a couple of branches slapped the outside of the car, making a loud 'WHAP!' noise so they went by. The path eventually led them to a clear opening where her car hit the sudden feel of concrete again.
Parker took in the scene before her. The so called concrete that they were on was a runway for military planes and the like. Just behind a group of parked jets was a huge metal warehouse, with a massive garage door opening at the front.
This however didn't seem to faze him, as he drove to the middle of the airway and then jammed on the brakes. The seatbelt that she had long ago decided not to wear was looking very comfortable right about now. She braced herself with her long legs and arms against the interior of the car.
The black vans that had been following behind them were suddenly surrounding them in a giant circle, a good distance from them. Countless men in black poured out from each van, using the car doors and roofs as a shield to prop their guns on. Multiple men screamed at them and one of them caught her attention, he was yelling something in his radio.
Whatever her captor was thinking he needed to do something fast. Shit was most definitely hitting the fan.
Multiple rumbles shook the earth, heading in their direction, and Parker looked to the source quickly.
A group of different colored robots swarmed out of the building. The biggest and main one she noticed instantly was a robot of a deep blue, with menacing swirling red flames. The rest of what she assumed was his team was running just as quickly behind him.
He ran to the front of the circle and clenched his fists, holding one hand up as a signal to stop his comrades. They listened. She noticed that his hands stayed clenched as he surveyed the situation before him.
He had these beautiful baby blue eyes that sharpened into pinpoints as he looked at them. For an instance her heart leapt into her throat. She thought that maybe he had seen right through the tinted windows and looked directly at her. She wondered if he could at all but he seemed unmoving and calculated.
When he spoke his voice was like one that she had never heard. It sent shivers down her spine and she recoiled in disgust and surprise at her body's reaction.
"Reveal to us the reason that you are here Barricade," the sharp command from his deep voice called out.
The whole clearing was silent as he spoke, and was immensely tense as an aftermath. Parker's surroundings begun to change as the car she was in began to shift and change. Gears grinded and wheel's squeaked. A hand seemed to materialize out of nowhere and firmly gripped her midsection, pinning her arms against her.
Parker forced her body to stay still, it would be irritatingly hard to worm her way out and down to the ground, and she might as well see what this so called ' Barricade' was trying to achieve.
The force of momentarily tense humans below her released a shocked gasp and the sound of the word "Hostage!" was shouted aloud.
She scoffed as she stayed silent in Barricade's hand; she will wait for her opening.
"Let's talk Prime," Barricade rumbled around her.
Optimus's stance became even more guarded as he looked at her. She wondered how exactly this would play out.

Oh my god I'm finally done with this chapter! I cannot express how sorry I am that this took so long to release. This was going to come out sooner but had it not been to some unfortunate event that took place, I would have gotten back sooner. My uncle had committed suicide and I became temporarily depressed, after that it seems that bad things kept me stressed out and I never really had a break to mourn or stop and rest from it all.
I am happy again now though, so don't worry my fellow readers! It took me a while but I'm back, and it feels good too! Again, I sincerely hope you all can forgive me; I will try with all my might to stay with this story. :)
Please review, express opinions, ideas, or comment, or blah blah blah you all know the gist!
With love, Blue ;)
