Pokémon Journey I: Violet's Trial

Chapter 12: The Rocket Hideout

Violet's Point of View:

"After him Amethyst!" My charizard roared in response and turned around mid-air to chase after the Team Rocket member that was racing through the nearly departed city in the dark. He raced through a few ally ways before us before he finally ran into some clothes line and grabbed a brown or black overcoat (with the decreasing amount of light, it was hard to see) and covered her uniform before he ducked into the game corner in town Amethyst landed right before the store and all my pokemon looked at the store angrily.

"Easy you guys, play it cool for now. Amethyst, while I'm inside I'll have to carry you in your pokeball, you're too large to fit through that small building." My shiny pokemon growled, still looking only at the game house, but nodded and lowered her head. "Don't worry girl, you'll definitely help me take this guy down." I pulled out her pokeball and returned her inside and held her ball tightly in my hands before I picked up Chalcedony in my arms and Amber jumped onto my shoulder with her front paws and head looking over my own and her tail wrapped around her waist. Amber sparked her cheeks lightly and Chalcedony bit at the air before I opened the door the building and entered the unknown area to me.

Upon entering, twenty or so slot machines large enough for one person or so stood back to back in three lines throughout the entire store. Posters were on every wall with the latest in news and models, both pokemon and humans. In he back was a counter and two men behind it, handing out coins to people in return for their money. Everyone in the building looked to be at least young teens and up to old people in age.

I looked down every isle with my pokemon looking for the member, Amber looked high above my head and Chalcedony looked from my arms. People stared at me as I did so or some ignored me and continued to spend their money and receive coins or not.

"Violet!" I turned my head slightly at the sound of my name, but I didn't have time to look when something brown flash before my eye and I felt my vision focus in.

It was him; he was standing stiffly before a poster of a young woman model in a bathing suit with a narrow hallway next to him with some boxes in the way. He pretended to be hooked on the poster, but I wasn't fooled. I walked up behind him and waited for him to turn after I tapped his shoulder. He shrugged off my hand and hissed. "Go away kid, I'm busy."

"Give back what you stole Team Rocket." The chatter in the room around me suddenly died and the man stiffened before me in fear. The room was tense and the shop keeper rushed up to me, trying to pull me away from Team Rocket member.

"Don't you start making accusations without proof kid." The game corner owner said to me. I waved him off and walked back up to the man.

"I saw his uniform; it's under the coat he's wearing." The man still refused to turn around. "I followed him in here after he stole something from a scientist. Its some sort of lens like item."

"Get the hell away from me you little brat!" The Team Rocket member finally turned around and opened his coat to revile his uniform. He pulled out two pokeballs that reviled a raticate: the evolved form of rattata and a zubat. As soon as the people got a good look at him and the pokemon before him, they all screamed and ran out of the building in a rush. I felt Amber jump off my shoulders and Chalcedony jump out of my arms and I threw out Amethyst's pokeball. My charizard emerged and blew fire at the lot of them. The two pokemon in response ran with their tail and wings between their legs and left the crook all by himself. He screamed and suddenly ripped at the poster, pulling it away to revile a large button behind it on the wall. He pressed it and then ran toward the small hallway blocked off by boxes. When he shoved them out of the way, I saw there was a passage in the wall that he ran down.

So this is where they've been hiding? Huh, not a bad place, but it wasn't very smart for him to show me where his hideout and all the other members were. I paused for a moment before I rushed at the opening after him. I wonder if his boss is down here? And I wonder… is Rose here too?

I raced down what seemed a long line of stairs before I made it the first floor into the hide out for Team Rocket here in the city. As soon as I reached the floor, overwhelming echoing of cries moaned around me. The cries of captured and tortured pokemon. I felt my breath was caught in my throat and I looked around the hallway I was in wasn't lined with pokemon to prevent people from discovering this location, but I saw the edge of cage around the corner. I hurried down the narrow hallway and came to a sudden stop when two hallways branched off and I saw that the cage was no more then a metal bar to one of the two hallways that were blocked off. There had to be a vent or something near by that was carrying the sounds of the pokemon up to this level.

"Violet! Wait up!" I turned around in a rush and suddenly saw my brother and Alex jump off the stairs and rush toward me and my pokemon. When they made to next to me, they stopped for a moment to catch their breath before they began asking questions.

"Where have you been?" Alex snapped off before Vince could ask anything. "And what the hell are you doing here in a Team Rocket base?"

"I thought Daisy told you I'd gone for my fourth gym badge, guess she forgot." I shrugged. "And I'm here because we followed a Team Rocket member here that stole something, and low and behold, he led us into their hideout. Multiple pokemon are trapped here if you listen quietly long enough, and we need to save them and find out all we can about what they do so we can stop them." Vince sighed and didn't dare argue with me while Alex looked pissed. "And I don't care what you say because I'm not leaving until we've handled this little honey hole. Any questions?"

"Yeah, where do you plan to start?" Vince questioned me in a more quiet voice compared to Alex's.

"Find a computer; see what it has on there for the hideout. And then we need to make out way down, I can hear the pokemons' cries from down there." I quieted for a moment and held up my hand for the boys to hush up themselves. The listened for a moment and soon I heard the wave of pokemon wails and cries that were echoing from below. I saw the boys' eyes widen in shock and I walked slightly ahead. "We need to get down there and help them."

"Just for curiosity's sake, why can't we- you I mean, leave this to the police?" Alex questioned me, and for once, he was serious about it.

"Because we're already here and can get to them quicker, if we wait for the police to arrive before we make our move, Team Rocket and their boss will have all that time to pack up and move the pokemon to another location before they can be helped and freed. We can't afford to give them that time. That guy I scared into running down here is probably already alerting his boss and other team members now, if he hasn't already." I headed toward the other branching off hallway. "Let's try this way."

The boys followed after me into the small hallway that led right into a small room where two computers were located. Alex ran right at the laptop one of them and started it up and looked it over. His fingers hit the keyboard at a rapid and hard pace that almost made me think he was going to break the keyboard before we could find out anything.

"Multiple things are listed here," he finally told us. "Its got records of robberies, captures of certain pokemon and what they have here, but they also apparently have another base, but it doesn't say where…"

"Is there anything else? Anything may help us Alex." I placed my hand on the back of the chair that he was seated in and Vince leaded against the wall, looking out for Team Rocket members that could be heading our way.

"Yeah, it also is talking about some project to take over Silph Co. in Saffron. There's not much on it in the data base, so it must not have taken place yet, but nothing else is listed about it either, nothing of desire, what they think they may get from there."

"Maybe they haven't hit it then, anything that they could be hitting right now?"

"Uh, give me a sec." He scrolled down the page and skimmed over some more information before he pointed out at something and stopped. "Here, there's apparently some sort of raid on the Pokѐmon Tower right now with a small group of only about three Team Rocket members, but there's some sort of high up ranked member named Rose that's going to checking on them soon, it doesn't say if she's left here or arrived there yet, so its anybody's guess."

"So Rose could be here, good, I've been planning on battling her again." Alex looked back at me in worry, but before he could get out anything, Vince shouted back to us.

"Violet! Alex! We've got trouble! Rocket members are coming from back up the hallway we came from!" I looked around back at my brother that had already released his larger pokemon onix and had its body coil around us in the room for protection.

"Calm down Vince," I looked over at my newly evolved charizard and the boys got a good look at her as well, looking at her new color scheme and size. "Take of 'em girl, don't kill, but don't let 'em get off easy either."

My pokemon nodded and jumped into the air before she flew out of the room and fired a flamethrower at them, forcing the crooks to back away and their own pokemon to run away from the power of my charizard. She was quite the powerhouse…

"Amethyst evolved?" Vince gaped at my dragon looking like pokemon above.

"Amethyst evolved." I grinned in return and looked back to Alex. "Anything else we should know?"

"Not really, nothing much else is listed other then some new item that just came into the hideout. Something called a silph scope."

"That must be the item I saw the Rocket member grab earlier!" I looked at the screen and a picture went with the description. It was in a sense a set of more blue like lens with a small red rimming around them and a thick wide frame that held them together that covered most of the top half of the face before two straps were attacked to the top and sides to keep it on your head. "We need to get back that item and return it."

"Rai rai!" Amber shouted up at us. I looked over to her and she looked at me nearly angrily. "Rai raichu chu rai!"

"Oh! Sorry Amber, will do." I turned back to Alex and looked over at the computer. "Look up the captured pokemon in either of the two bases, find out what they have for pikachus. Amber wants to know if they may have her mother." Alex nodded and quickly went back to work. I suddenly heard a cry outside the door and rushed over to where Vince was behind the head of his onix. It was a large area of fire out there; Amethyst was making quick work of the members that were coming out to face her in large amounts. I looked up to see how my pokemon was doing and watched as she breathed heavily.

"Amethyst! Get down here and take a breather! Amber and Chalcedony can take over for a while!" My charizard nodded and allowed herself to settle on the ground to breathe while Amber, Chalcedony and I jumped over Vince's onix and entered the battle field.

"Alright! Chalcedony, use shadow ball! Amber, use your new attack, Thunderbolt!" My raichu nearly exploded with electricity that hit nearly everyone in the room, including Team Rocket members besides their pokemon. Whatever ones she didn't manage to hit, Chalcedony hit with his shadow ball attack. He's smarter then people would give his credit for. He's a normal type that can learn a ghost type move and knows who to attack and who not, like ghost type moves don't work against normal types like himself, but only a small amount of them were normal types and Amber was able to get them, making them fall in record amounts.

Amber also managed to hit the Team Rocket members' pokeballs that held them prisoner. With them electrocuted, they burst open and freed the pokemon inside and said pokemon ran for the exit, hopefully where doctors and Nurse Joy and the police can help them. With more pokemon free and out of the way, I saw the Rockets were starting to really shorten up in numbers, and with the masses of bodies down, I saw where they were coming from. Back toward the stairway that brought us down to this level in the facility, there apparently was a hidden door behind a moveable wall right across from it.

"I see the way downstairs!" I called to the others. "Alex! Grab the laptop as evidence! Vince! Have Onix clear a path! My pokemon are tiring out so I'll save them for below!" I quickly withdrew Amethyst back into her pokeball for a quick rest and picked up Chalcedony before Amber jumped back onto my shoulders, wrapped her tail around my waist and leaned over the top of my head.

I heard Vince give out the command to his rock type and the large bolder pokemon raced forward around me and headed toward the stairway, making it slightly larger and putting out some of the fire Amethyst had caused and moved the Rocket grunts out of the way to form a path. I bolted after the large pokemon and hurried down the stairs with Vince and Alex right behind me.

I heard Vince's onix roar before I saw it at the bottom of the stairs; it was stuck there for some reason. I hurried to the base of the stairs and jumped over its body before I saw the reason why. Before Onix was apparently more powerful pokemon below, ones that could hold back my brother's bolder pokemon. Arbok and sandslash were at the base of the stairs with Rocket members behind them, commanding out for them to fire multiple rounds of poison sting. With Onix having no room to move and no way to go backward with us behind him, he simply took the hits. It cried out in pain and from on my shoulders Amber threw a thunderbolt at the arbok while Chalcedony took out the sandslash with his shadow ball attack. With the pokemon not attacking him anymore, Onix barreled right through them and avoided me as he stared hitting walls.

"Be careful Onix! There're pokemon down here we need to help and we can't do that if we have a cave in!" I shouted out to the rampaging pokemon. I watched it slow down a bit, but continued on its way through the hallways of this large base. I sighed and turned back to watch Vince and Alex get off the stairs and we all ran after Onix.

"Does it say on that laptop where the pokemon are located, Alex?" I heard him typing rapidly with a single hand while he ran behind us.

"The first set of cages should be just around the corner to our right!" He called back. I turned my attention back to what was before me and watched the bolder pokemon had already turned in that direction to the largely set room with many cages filled with pokemon. When I saw the conditions of them all, I nearly fell over in horror. Patches of skin and fur were bunched up and shed in large quantities until most of their first layer of protection was nearly worn off. Food quantity was low and water was either worse with them being green and moldy so that it was un-eatable. The smell of the feces was revolting and spread throughout the entire room. The pokemon in the cages all had down stricken faces until they caught a glimpse at Alex, Vince and I.

One pokemon in particular, a fire type pokemon that looked like it had a duck beak but had a human like shape and a coloring of yellow and red with claws and sharp toes and a tail with a lot of armor, looked up at me with hopeful eyes before it curled back into the two pokemon next to it.

The first one seemed to be an electric type, it also had a human sort of body, but its body was larger in size and its head and body was wider and had yellow fur with a zig zag black patter over it that had been coming off from being caged up. Its hands and feet were large but looked under weight and low on energy. It had an antenna or two on its head and large eyes that looked up at me grumpily, but had no energy to look at me long before it flopped its head on its friend's shoulder.

The other pokemon was a large seal like pokemon that was nearly pure white, but more of an off white color with a large horn on its head and a few teeth hanging out over the edge of its mouth. Its tail split a little bit at the end into two flippers but they looked slightly torn. It had two flippers that it used to cushion its body on the floor that I bet were used for swimming. Its eyes were the saddest and almost looked like it was going to cry as it curled back into the side of its companions.

"We have to get them out." I looked over my shoulder to Amber. "Amber, use iron tail on the cages!" My pokemon leapt into the air and its tail turned metallic, it swung at the bars and shattered the thick pieces of metal that prevented them all from escaping. I saw all the pokemons' eyes widen when they saw their bars were open. They slowly stood and walked out of their cages, as if they were expecting to be hit.

"Vince!" I turned to my brother and pulled out a pokemon that couldn't get up on its own and held it in my arms before I handed it to my brother. "Gather the pokemon from this level as we free them and get them out of the building, get them to medical attention and then find me and Alex! We'll keep freeing the pokemon down here and help any others on the bottom levels!" My brother nodded and took the pokemon from my arms before he released his other pokemon from their pokeballs and helped them out of their cages. He had Ivysaur use its vines to wrap around the seal like pokemon and carry it out of the cage. Its companions, with surprised faces, got up and followed them out. Vince took off with the pokemon and led them off toward the upper levels where I'm more then willing to bet that the police and Nurse Joy along with many doctors are probably waiting on standby.

When the cages on level two had been dealt with, Alex and I hurried toward the next set of stairs that was down another hallway. We quickly reached the third floor and saw that there was another set of cages off to the side of a hallway. With Alex pointing me in the right direction, we quickly got to the pokemon with Onix at our sides; he curled up next to us and waited for further orders since Vince was no longer there. These cages housed larger and more powerful pokemon, evolved forms that could do much more damage then the pokemon above and hence that, their cages were reinforced too. I had Amber try to break away the steel cages, but they were too strong from her power level. I released Amethyst from her pokeball and she stood high now that she'd had a moment to rest. She quickly used all the force she had in her to rip open the bars, only to put a slight dent into them.

"At this rate we'll never get them out." Alex said. He walked up next to the cage and pointed out a small device on it. "Look here, it looks like a lock of some kind that needs a card key to open it. I bet if we find this card key, we could free the pokemon and get anywhere in the base."

"We can't leave the pokemon though, if we leave them unguarded, Team Rocket might be able to escape with them." Alex nodded and stopped to ponder. He then opened up the laptop again and started to look through the information.

"The schematics of the base show that there are two separate office areas below us on floor, it wouldn't surprise me that in one of those offices is where the key we need, the boss, or both are in. The stair case should be at the back of the room here, and what we can do is leave Onix to guard the pokemon here until we get back. There's also an elevator that comes to floors one, two and four, the other half of the fourth floor that we can't reach, and I'm betting that that's the reason why it was closed off when we first got in here on the first floor."

"And if we happen to find the key, which I'm willing to bet since the elevator was blocked off, we can get to the other office where most likely the boss is after we free all of these pokemon." Alex nodded and led me away from the cages. "Keep an eye on them Onix and make sure Team Rocket can't get to them." The rock pokemon nodded and curled its body before the cages before it and we turned down the tunnel and hurried toward the other set of stairs.

Alex and I raced down to the bottom at a fast pace with my pokemon attached to me or following after until we made it to the bottom. More computers were at the tables here and a few Rocket members, dressed in white lab coats over their uniforms, looked at us in surprise. One however only smiled at the two of us and nearly gushed over Amethyst.

"It's good to see you again Violet, I was wondering when you'd show up since you found our hideout." Rose grinned as she looked over at us. "And lookie here, you have a boyfriend, Alex Oak is it?"

"That's none of your business," Alex hissed. He released his three pokemon from their pokeballs and they all growled at her in response. The Rocket members around her stood up, ready to bolt since they had no pokemon on them from the empty belts I saw.

"What a shame, and you're such a cutie too." Rose blew him a kiss and Alex avoided it by stepping to the side, close to me. "Now that's worth a picture."

"Enough Rose, let's get down to business, shall we?" I took a step before Alex so that he was behind me. He looked shocked by my action when I looked back at him and stayed frozen where he was. My pokemon jumped from my arms and growled at Rose. "I believe you have something we want. Where's the key?"

"You mean the life key? As in this card key?" She held out a yellow card with a single yellow stripe on it between her first finger and middle finger.

"That would be it." I glanced down briefly at my raichu before she glanced back at me, with the slightest nod that Rose either ignored or didn't see; Amber got down on her four paws and prepared herself to run.

"And what do you plan to do about it?" Rose sneered at my calm façade.

I finally gave her a grin that placed a quick flash of fear in here eyes. "I can't do what's already been done." Rose looked stunned in that moment and she took the time to look all around her. I watched her count my pokemon and Alex's, freezing when she saw Amber was missing from our group. She jumped and wildly looked around herself for my raichu before I signaled Amethyst to blow a flamethrower at her. Rose ducked out of the way and I that moment my pokemon reviled herself and grabbed the card from Rose's hand by jumping on her shoulder and then leaping back toward us. Amber handed me the card and I grinned at Rose.

"Our work here is done; we'll see you at Lavender Town." She clenched her teeth and I held the card close to my chest while she bolted past us and up to the next level. The other Rocket members in lab coats followed after her screaming at the top of their lungs.

"I'll get back at your for this Violet!" the woman shouted from the next level up. "You won't get away with humiliating me!"

"Ignore her, let's release those pokemon above." I grabbed Alex's wrist and dragged him back up the stairs we came from. I pulled Alex along and we made it back to their third level to where my brother's onix was waiting with its trainer. My brother sat on the bolder that was onix's head with his back leaning against the large horn that extended out of the center of its forehead. When he got the sight of Rose and the other Rockets ahead of us, he jumped off the head and prepared for a fight, but he stood surprised with his pokemon when the criminals all ran by him.

"What the hell?" I heard him mutter.

"They're just pissed at us Vince." His head whipped around to look at Alex and I running toward him. "Move out of the way, we have the key to the door, then you can lead these pokemon out. How's everything above?"

"In total chaos Sis, the public is outraged that Team Rocket had a base 'in their own beautiful city', as they put it. Nurse Joy and all the doctors are hard at work taking care of the pokemon that we sent up there and they're in intensive care right now, the police are catching members of Team Rocket left and right, but I imagine some of them have escaped." While he explained the situation to me, I raced by him and slide the card key into the locked door. The locket instantly released and the door swung wide open. "I'll lead these pokemon up to the surface, you go find their boss and kick him out of the city."

"Don't worry Vince, I will." Larger pokemon from inside the cage slowly started to make their way out of the cage and followed after my brother who led them to the surface. Alex and I ran out before them back up to the second level and we headed quickly over to the elevator that was hidden on the back wall behind the cages where we released the first set of pokemon.

I pulled out the life key and slide it into the slot once we made it inside the elevator. It showed me three levels to access, level one, two and four. I pressed the level four button and the door instantly closed. I called Amethyst back into her pokeball to give her a bit of a breather and I carried my other two pokemon while Alex kept all of his three out.

At the bottom of the elevator, once the door opened, there was a large door made of expensive material and purely white in color with two grunts standing guard before it. Once they saw Alex and I they threw out their pokemon, a small pokemon made entirely of sludge that reeked when its stench came off, I believe it was called a grimer. The other grunt sent out another bad smelling pokemon that was like a large purple crater ball with a toxic mark its chest (if you could even call it that). It looked like it was having a good time with the smile on its face and it released gases from the open pours all over it. I remember it being called a koffing. Before I could send out an attack, Alex's pokemon jumped forward, Growlithe took out the grimer while Wartortle took out the koffing.

"You need to save your pokemons' energy for the boss; you're the strongest one of us Violet." Alex sighed and called back his pokemon to his side. "I'll be here as a back up incase you need me, but I think it's your job to handle him Violet." I blinked my eyes back at him, surprised by his behavior. He then gave me his trademark evil grin and placed his hands on his hips. "You better beat him Violet or I'll take your title as the strongest trainer out of the three of us."

I couldn't help but snort at his statement. Oh Alex… I shook my head and gave him a grin back. "Like you would be the strongest of us." I shook my head. "Only in your wildest dreams Alex."

"You don't know what my wildest dreams are." He stepped closer to me, our faces nearly an inch apart and I felt my face break out into a deep red blush. He smiled at what he saw before he chuckled and backed away from me. I heard a deep growling in my arms and Chalcedony jumped from them and bit Alex's arm again. Alex yelled and threw my eevee off of him before he stepped far enough away from me that Chalcedony seemed to think was reasonable enough and jumped back up into my arms.

Alex hissed at the pain he had in his arm, but he snorted and let it go before he gave way to me. "Go kick his ass, and make that eevee of yours bite someone else other then me." I laughed nervously at him while Chalcedony huffed and grinned at him, showing him who's boss here.

"I will Alex." I looked down at Chalcedony. "And you and I will be having a long conversation later." He grinned sheepishly up at me and I took a few steps forward, pushed forward the door and walked inside. I took a few steps into the dark room before the door closed and I was cut off from Alex. I herd him shouting on the other side, but the doors were too thick to make out his shouting.

"You did well by making it this far, dear Violet Vilmos." The lights came on before me and I had to shield my eyes from the sudden light. Before me stood a tall young man, no older then his mid to late thirties, dark black hair covered the top of his head and an expensive black suit covered his body and hard dark brown eyes that looked at me with some sort of large smirk on his face. "Let me introduce myself, I am Giovanni, the leader of this criminal organization. I must say, to see how much you've accomplished is quite shocking for a trainer of your age."

"Well, I'm glad I've earned complements from you, does this mean I've earned respect from you, even as a criminal?" The man in turn laughed at my words and psychotically glared at me.

"Respect? No, no Miss Vilmos! You've misunderstood me. What you have brought forth out of me is anger and annoyance. You have become a thorn in my side that refuses to be clipped. And I believe it's time that I put you in your place." He took out his own pokeball and threw it before him; an onix came out and roared in the enclosed room, making its cry even louder than normal.

"I'd love to see you try!" I looked down at my eevee and it looked up to me with a fire in its eyes. "Let's go Chalcedony!" My eevee nodded and leapt from my arms out before the onix. It roared back at my pokemon and Chalcedony in returned hissed at it.

"That puny pokemon of yours couldn't possibly harm my onix." Giovanni laughed.

"Let's prove you wrong then." My pokemon and I grinned. "Chalcedony use shadow ball!" Like all other times, the dark energy ball grew before my eevee's mouth and then fired at the onix. It didn't expect much of an attack from my eevee and simply waited to be hit. When the attack hit it roared in pain. I didn't give it a second to recover and had Chalcedony move in with another attack.

"Bite!" You'd think that this small attack wouldn't do much, but since this attack was categorized as a dark type move (after much debate as to why it hurt ghosts types when it was thought to be a normal type move and there are no dark types that live in the region) it does a good amount of damage to all types other then fighting and bug. Chalcedony jumped and bit the pointed stone that stuck out of the onix's head and it cried out as the teeth actually made marks on its rock body surface. It began to thrash about, trying to throw Chalcedony off, but it had no luck, my little eevee was stubborn, possibly the most stubborn pokemon on my team.

"Get ride of that pest Onix! Use rage!" Giovanni growled and the onix nodded through its pain. Anger cleared showed up before its features got studier and it got angrier. I knew the effects of rage, with the more damage the pokemon took on, it would only get madder and its attack would get stronger, but it could still be taken out, it just needed to be done before Chalcedony could get knocked out.

"Don't let it knock you out Chalcedony! Jump off and use shadow ball, then bite it again!" My pokemon seemed to enjoy that command. He jumped off the back of the onix and landed before me and used a shadow ball when the onix threw down its tail at my eevee. Dust and debris flew and I saw another shadow ball fly out of the dust and hit onix head on, knocking it back before my eevee raced out and bit the top of its head again. The onix thrashed about trying to throw Chalcedony off, but had no luck with my stubborn eevee. It held on with its teeth, biting deeper into the rock body.

Suddenly the onix leapt upward and attempted to slam my pokemon into the ceiling. My eevee only had a second to move before he leapt off the head of the bolder like snake and landed on the ground as the head fell over the now shattered tile floor. Without a command from me, my eevee rushed toward its head and its tail turned metallic in color before it slammed it on top of the head of the onix and it finally had no power left to battle. 'X's appeared over its eyes and it was still on the ground. Giovanni hissed and recalled back the onix to its pokeball.

"Hey Chalcedony! How'd you learn iron tail?" I questioned my newest addition to my team.

"Ee, eevee ee ee!" he replied in a pant. I shook my head.

"From Amber? You know, I should just hand over the book to you guys and let you learn whatever moves you want." My eevee grinned and turned back to the battle. "Can you handle another?" My eevee nodded easily and swung around its tail, ready to battle again.

"You won't win this battle Violet!" Giovanni snapped and threw out another pokeball. From this one came another rock pokemon that was smaller then onix and walked on four thick and stubby legs. Its body was very large and heavy it looked light and it had a small horn on the end of its nose. Its red eyes glared at Chalcedony and myself while it waited for orders on Giovanni.

"Rhyhorn, crush that eevee flat!" The rock type pokemon barred toward us and suddenly leapt into the air as it stood over my eevee. My eevee dodged to the side and ran around so it was behind it.

"Bite it Chalcedony!" I saw a wild grin on my eevee's face and he leapt forward while the rhyhorn was still looking for him. My eevee's teeth suddenly clamped down on the tail of the pokemon and everything went still. I cocked my head to the side in confusion when nothing happened and even Giovanni looked confused.

A sudden cry of pain came from the rhyhorn and it raced around the room with tears of pain and fear in its eyes. I saw Chalcedony grin while he was thrashed around on the tail of the rhyhorn and decided to have some fun while it tortured Giovanni's poor pokemon. His tail turned metallic and he ended up swinging it at the back legs of the pokemon. By taking out its back legs, the rhyhorn rolled in into the door and it created a large dent in it, enough for a fist or so to peak through, but not enough for Alex and Vince to get in if they wanted to.

"Violet!" I heard Alex shout through the dust cloud before the door. "Are you alright?

"Sis! You're not hurt are you?" Vince called out.

"I'm fine boys, perfectly fine!" Chalcedony jumped back from the door and out of the dust cloud waited eagerly for the rhyhorn to emerge as well. "We should be done soon!"

"Don't be so sure girl; you haven't won this battle yet!" Giovanni countered.

"But you're down to your last pokemon." From the dust came the outline of the rock type pokemon, Giovanni looked like he was about to make a comment to me abut his pokemon, but the rhyhorn fell as soon as it stepped out of the cloud. My eevee grinned and hurried back to my side.

"You done for now Chalcedony?" My eevee nodded and sat at my feet, breathing in and out quickly, panting. "Alright, you rest, Amethyst can finish this up." I pulled out my pokeball just as Giovanni returned his pokemon to its pokeball. He in turn glared at me, knowing that this was going downhill for him.

"Destroy them Kangaskhan!" The bright white light of his last pokemon being released illuminated the room. Before me stood a normal type pokemon (the first on his team) that was quite large with body size that was nearly five feet over Giovanni's head, and he was a fun grown man at nearly six feet or more. Its color was mostly a tan that was lighter and darker in certain areas. It had thick arms and legs and a long tail that dragged on the ground. A pouch was on its stomach that looked large enough to hold a child, but there wasn't one in it. A hard dark brown round plate seemed to be like a thicker layer of skin that protected its head. It dark eyes glared down at me and I knew this battle was for Amethyst. Chalcedony was worn out on energy anyway and I could feel the passion and eagerness to battle from Amethyst's pokeball, she was raring to go.

"Let finish this up Amethyst!" My pokeball flew into the air from it emerged my newly evolved charizard. She puffed out fire from her mouth as she glared at her opponent.

Without an order from either myself or Giovanni, the two bound forward and their hands collided. I could feel the way of power from them from where I stood. The kangaskhan decided to play dirty and swung its tail at the side of my charizard. Amethyst however saw it and swung her own tail in the way, making them collide and wrapped around each other's. Amethyst suddenly got her paws twisted so that she should hurl her opponent over her shoulder toward the door that the others were behind. The doors still refused to open, but there was a much larger hole in the door now, the boys could stick their heads inside now and watched the normal type pokemon get up before it used an attack without the commend of its trainer, rage. In response to the attack, Amethyst did the exact same thing and both their eyes began to turn red in their rages and their growling reached dangerous heights.

"Let's go Amethyst!" My charizard roared before it jumped into the air and glided at the normal type.

"Finish it Kangaskhan!" The kangaskhan stomped toward my pokemon and their hands collided again, but with Amethyst pushing forward with the air around her wings, she was able to summon up powerful winds that pushed the kangaskhan off its feet, enough for Amethyst to slam into it and slam it into the wall. Amethyst quickly jumped back blew fire right into its face while it was in the wall. Through the end of its rage faze, it backed up and watched the pokemon burn in the dust and smoke combination in the corner. From the spot fell a massive blotch of black which I recognized as the kangaskhan after being beaten and burned black. Amethyst snorted before she turned back at me with a smile, nodding.

We'd beaten Team Rocket's boss Giovanni… we'd won!

"I… lost?" Giovanni was at a loss for words on the other side of the room. "It can't be!"

"It can and it has Giovanni, you just lost to a thirteen year old girl and her pokemon." I smirked as the man nearly hissed out a long strew of swears that belittled his posture which he did his best to keep to himself to not lower his demeanor any more, sadly, it wasn't working out for him. Alex and Vince were laughing and snickering behind the door with their pokemon.

He finally gave in and sighed before he looked at me with demonic eyes that nearly were as black as an endless void. "Very well… I must accept defeat this time; you're strong for a girl your age. This will be the single time I step aside! But I know we'll cross paths again, and that's when I'll end you melting once and for all." He turned away from me and placed the item that I'd seen his grunt steal earlier on the table. "You raise your pokemon with the utmost care, someone like you would never understand the ambition and goal I'm driving myself toward." He returned kangaskhan to its pokeball and walked to the back of his room. "We shall me again…"

The room suddenly went black and I heard a couple of my pokemon call out. As soon as they had turned off however, they came back on and Giovanni was gone. The silph scope however was still set on the table and looked fine. I walked up to the table and picked it up in my hands. With the item we desired back, we head back toward the door where the others were waiting. I had Amethyst launched herself at the door and she finally brought it down. Alex and Vince backed away and I then returned Amethyst to her pokeball and picked up Chalcedony while Amber took her rightly spot standing on my shoulders and leaning over my head.

"What now Vi?" Vince questioned. "I got all the pokemon out and to safety, but the place is abandoned now, the members either escaped or were arrested."

"We have to get over to Lavender Town; the Pokѐmon Tower is under attack by them right now. We don't know what they're after, but Rose is heading there right now, and she's a force to be reckoned with when she has her pokemon, and I'm willing to bet their stronger then last time. Celadon City's in too much chaos for us to get our pokemon treated here, we'll fly on Amethyst's back to Lavender Town and heal up there quickly and head up to kick them out of the tower."

"And the laptop we got?" Alex asked as he showed the device to me.

"We'll give it to the police to use as evidence. Now let's go, we'll get into the elevator and use it to take us back to the floor right below the game corner." The boys nodded and Vince returned his onix before we rushed out to the elevator we came in on. I slid the life key into it and pressed the first floor button. The elevator quickly climbed the underground levels to the top of the hideout before the door opened and we ended up in a room I didn't recognize. It was entirely closed off and one of its walls looked almost identical to the one that had slammed closed when we first arrived in here.

"This must be the room we were cut off from." I murmured and quickly walked across the room toward the door where another key card slot was. I ran the life key through it and the light turned green before the door opened. Once it was open we walked up to the stairs and made our way up to the ground level again inside the game corner.

"We got out all the pokemon, right?" I questioned my brother.

"Yeah, I made sure everyone of them got the medical attention they needed. Once they're healed they'll be heading to their homes in the region." I nodded and we headed to the door where sirens and bright flashing lights were blinding outside. I looked back to the others for a moment, only to see them nod before I pushed against the door and walked outside.

I saw many people, so many more then I ever dreamed I would see. By standers watched from behind police blocks and the police themselves along with a few doctors rushed over to us to see if we were alright. I didn't pay attention to them and searched the crowd for any faces I knew of. I was able to see two, Daisy and Lily. The two of them watched over from the barricade worriedly as we stepped closer toward them, but as we got closer, reports swarmed us. They wouldn't let us get toward the crowd while they bombarded us with questions.

"Violet! Are the rumors true?" One shouted. "Is there really a Team Rocket base below? How did you discover it?"

"What was the condition of the pokemon they kept down there?" Another shouted. "We saw them all brought out by the young man behind you! What conditions did you see them in?"

"Did you see their boss? Was he powerful? Dangerous? Did you beat him?"

"Violet! Who are the boys with you? Friends? Brothers? Boyfriends? We heard from others that you have one best friend and a brother! As these two them?"

"Was there any specific pokemon that they had a lot of below?"

"Why did they choose Celadon City for their base? And in a game corner?"

"Did Team Rocket have many high up grunts?"

"Violet! Over here!"

"No, over here Violet!"

"Violet! Can I get a word?"

"Violet! A moment of your time please!"

"Violet!"

"Violet!"

"THAT'S ENOUGH!" I mentally sighed when a police officer pushed away the reporters and let us through the crowd. "Can't you see this poor girl is exhausted? Herd at her later!" The police officer led us to a section they had off to the side and Daisy and Lily broke through the crowd and rushed to our sides.

"Are you alright Violet?" She reached me finally and took a hold of my hand to prevent us from being separated.

"I'm fine, but we can't stay here long, Team Rocket's got an operation in Lavender Town, we have to stop them. We only wanted to quickly return this silph scope lens to the scientist who had it stolen from him," I explained to them. I heard the reporters in the backgrounds shouting to get more information.

"You mean you got it back?" A scientist pushed through the crowd, reporters and the police and made his way over to me, a silph co. logo was on his white jacket and his glasses that reflected the lights from the police cars tonight prevented me from seeing his eyes. "Oh thank you so much! But if you heading to Lavender Town, you'd best keep the scope."

"How so?" Alex questioned.

"Lavender Town's Pokѐmon Tower is filled from top to bottom with ghost pokemon, and some ghosts to boot. That scope you have in your hands will show you where they are without a problem. Ghost types tend to be pretty sneaky and like to stay intangible or change the way they look to scare you, but that scope will prevent that." He came over to the device and gently lifted it from my hands. "However, if I may, there are the plans for this device in here along with some others from our building I'd like to take back before Team Rocket could get the opportunity to get their hands on them again."

"It's all yours," I told him. "Just please be quick, I don't know how far into the operation Team Rocket is over at Lavender Town and we have to get over there as quickly as possible."

"Got it." He quickly opened up a small hatch on the front of the lens and pulled out a small flash drive which he stuffed into his pocket before he handed it back to me. "Here. Go save those people and pokemon."

I nodded to him and saw the police saluted me. "We've alerted the police over in Lavender Town to wait for you on standby since you have the most knowledge of the situation, and since you seem to be able to weave your way around these Rockets like a bug in its own web. We hate to leave this act to civilians such as yourselves, but your turning out to be doing a better job at this then we are." I snorted and gave the police officer a smile before I released Amethyst from her pokeball. My charizard roared as I took the string attached to the silph scope and hung it around my neck. All three of us climbed on and Amethyst jumped into the sky. If I was worried back when she was a charmeleon and carried me on her back, look at her now with three people and her two team mates, she really knew how to handle us.

I suddenly remember something and turned back to look at the crowd where the police and scientist where. "I almost forgot! Team Rocket wants something from your company! Warn them to be careful! They could come at any time!" I saw the scientist looked worriedly at me before he nodded and raced off with a police escort back to Saffron City. I felt Alex wrap his arms around me to hold on and Vince did the same with Alex, and I bet he was groaning about it the entire time. I gripped the sides of my charizard's head while Chalcedony lay down in my lap and Amber was on my shoulders. Amethyst raced off in the direct from where we'd came and took to Lavender Town where Team Rocket and Rose were waiting.

And I was ready to face them.

Witch's Note:

I can't believe how long these last few chapters have been! I've never planned for them to be this long or I thought they'd be so short! Can you believe it people? Hey, I just want to let you know now that we're close to the middle of the store, almost halfway of story one! Only about three or four more chapters, the last chapter or two, I'm still debating which is changing the number a bit.

Okay enough of my ranting; let's move on! Amber was a bit lazy when it came to the larger battles this chapter, didn't she? Oh well, we'll see more action from her in the future. She needs to learn more moves to help her out in battle, and so do her team mates, don't you all agree?

And you all know the drill by now, its time for Reviews and Questions! There's no limit to them and while you send those in, I'll start in on the next chapter! Here we come Pokѐmon Tower!

Love you all and see you next week!
