Pokѐmon Journey I: Violet's Trial
Chapter 13: The Pokѐmon Tower
Violet's Point of View:
The trip back to Lavender Town nearly passed in the blink of an eye. Amethyst was one of the fastest pokemon in the sky that I've ever seen. The boys were holding on for dear life behind me as we continued to speed forward toward the town that was under attack, or I should say its pokemon tower is.
But then again, why would be of interest inside the Pokѐmon Tower? What could be there that they wanted? Was there a specific pokemon that they were after that lived at the top? Was there another pokemon that few people know about that lived there that they'd discovered? It was too unbearable to think about more innocent pokemon being locked up inside cages with nothing to await them but death. Who knows how many pokemon before the ones we found were killed? Died of starvation? How many lost the will to live from the lives they faced in those tiny, cramped cages?
I shook my head as I felt a few tears weld up on the edges of my eyes. It hurt so much to imagine that much pain, it hurt every time I closed my eyes and watched as those dying ones looked back up at me in defeat and fear. I felt it ripping apart every inch of my soul and I tried many times to keep the pieces from being destroyed entirely with my sanity and will, but at moment, it wasn't good enough and I felt the depression hit. I couldn't imagine people treating pokemon like that, they way they hurt them just for money and fame. Pokѐmon were living beings too and there was no reason to harm them so as Team Rocket have, but as I remembered what my father always told me when the subject of bad people came up 'you can't change everyone's opinion in this world Violet, all you can do is do your best and strive to make it better, one life saved is better then none'.
I miss those conversations I had with my father. He knew so much about the world around us, I bet he even knew about Team Rocket well before it became as horrible as it has now. Is that maybe why he left? To stop Team Rocket? Or was he stopped by them? Alex never said if there were any files on my father when he was looking over the information on the computer, but it's possible that it did happen and it wasn't listed. Who knows, but if they had gotten him, they would have had his pokemon, I remember them as clear as day, his pokemon were all amazing and it was incredible to watch him practice and play with them.
"Focus Violet!" I heard Alex shout over the winds we raced through. "We're here!" I quickly put my thoughts of the past behind me and looked down at the large tower that we had to start at the bottom and climb out way to the top to clear out the Rockets and deal with some ghosts. I've read many things about ghost pokemon, apparently they can take over a person's mind if their not careful, but with the scope we got from the silph co. we should be fine; or at least better protected with a better set of eyes.
Amethyst landed on the large patch of land right before the tower. I saw that the people were being herded out of the tower by the police, some of them still with flowers in their arms they planned to give to a deceased loved one. I felt horrible for having them removed from the tower before they could even finish talking with their beloved pokemon that's left this world, but we had little choice with Team Rocket in the building.
I jumped off of Amethyst's back and Alex and Vince followed my lead before I returned Amethyst to her pokeball before we hurried inside the building. Police were in the lobby with a single old woman at the desk, checking things over with her.
"Is there anyone still inside the building?" I questioned once I got inside with the boys.
"You must be Violet Vilmos then," the female officer questioned and I nodded. "Office Jenny at your service ma'am, Head Kanto Police. From the information we've gathered from this woman, multiple people are still inside the building, mostly on the upper levels past the second floor. From what people had told us, some of them were possessed and others sensed an evil presence."
"I see, the ghost pokemon must be having some fun right when we need them not to, great…" I mumbled. I nodded to Officer Jenny and headed toward the back with the guys. "We'll help those people out in any way we can and get them out of the building, don't let anyone pass floor two but have some on standby there for anyone who comes down, and be prepared to stop Team Rocket from escaping once we find out where they're hiding."
"Understood ma'am, we'll send up some officers and doctors right behind you and wait on floors one and two." Jenny saluted us and soon she disappeared from site as we rushed to the second floor.
As soon as we got there, a single woman waited on the other side; she looked like one of those spirit channlers who stayed around to tame the ghost pokemon who love the depressing environment. She was dressed in nearly all white clothing with some sort of stick in her hands that was red with a white cloth attached to it. She looked to be meditating at the base of the stairs. The boys and hurried over to her and noticed she didn't seem to take notice of our presence there.
"Ma'am?" She looked up at me with dark eyes and her onyx hair fell before them.
"I will not leave," she stated simply. "My sisters are above and possessed by the very spirits we protect, something has happened to distress a dead soul and has caused it to wreak havoc above. A single sister of mine I can sense is still sane; she guards the protective healing area on floor five."
"Team Rocket's here, stay where you are and don't try to follow us, we'll get your sisters back and the police will be here to keep you safe."
"I can not be harmed, the spirits do not house on this level, this is our resting ground." She murmured. "Eighteen reside above, six are sane and one of those sane is one of my sisters, I sense the rest of the sane are on the top floor. My other possessed sisters are upon the other floors."
"Thank you for your information." I nodded to her and ran up the stairs that were next to her. She glanced lightly back at me, but didn't say or do anything other then return to her meditation. I felt one of the boys tap my back and looked to seen Alex get closer on my right.
"Are you sure it was okay to leave her there?"
"Its better then having her come with us. Leave her there; she seems almost as if she's one with the tower," I told him. "We have worse things to think about. Who knows what Rose and her lackeys want here, and I'm more then willing to bet that she's got her pokemon on hand this time. She's not the strongest person I've faced, but she one hell of a dirty player."
"So what do you think she'll do?" Vince questioned, coming up on my right as we approached the third floor.
"She'll probably try to use a hostage to help her get away or get something she wants." We finally reached the first of the floors and saw that it was covered in a thick fog like cover that made the place even more eerie. I pulled out the scope lens and placed them over my eyes to search around. Apparently the ghost pokemon were curious of us, least the ones I saw in the lens, and not bothering anyone or anything. I saw ghastly mostly, the same ghost pokemon I'd encountered when I'd faced Rose in Mt. Moon.
"So how do we deal with them if we can't see them?" Vince asked.
"Chalcedony would be best in this situation for battling," I noted to them. "He's a normal type, so ghost type moves don't affect him, and as an added bonus, he knows shadow ball, a ghost type move that's super effective against other ghosts."
"Ghosts are superly affected by their own type?" Vince's eyes widened and his brows rose in disbelief. "Wow…"
"No different then dragons brother dearest." I scanned the area with the scopes over my eyes until I caught site of a body. "I see someone." The boys instantly hushed and looked in the direction that I was looking in. A young woman, dressed and looked exactly like the channeler on the floor below, stocked toward us. Her arms were out stretched and with the silph scope I could see invisible lines coming from her pokeball that was in her hand. The ghastly was controlling her from inside the pokeball.
I slipped away from the boys and whistled to the woman. She turned around to me in a flash and was a foot away from me before I could blink. Ghastly really had some power over her. She reached to hit with the stick thing she had in her other hand, but I jumped backward and from my arms Chalcedony threw a shadow ball at her. She screeched as the attack, being super effective, separated the cords from her and released her from the spell of her own pokemon. Her pokemon in turn came out of its pokeball and looked at me as if it was in a hypnotic state of its own, and it looked like it with its glowing red eyes and its tongue hanging out of its mouth without a care in the world.
I lowered the lens from my eyes and saw it was a solid figure before us, looking at my pokemon. It sent out nightshade attack, but it wasn't thinking clearly of the type my eevee was and the attack didn't phase it at all.
"Chalcedony, shadow ball lets go!" I said to the normal type in my arms. My eevee fired off another shadow ball at the pokemon and this one hit it head on, taking it out in a single hit.
Once it was down, the hypnotic state seemed to wear off and it rose from its spot. It looked around in pure confusion and suddenly saw its trainer. It nudged her side and the woman came to, she blinked her eyes a few times before she saw me and her eyes went wide.
"I feel… as if I've been released from the possession of a powerful spirit." She whispered.
"You have been Miss." I held my hand out to her and helped her up. "Something was controlling your ghastly and with it under control, you were then under something's control as well."
"I see… I shall remain here at my post then."
"No you won't." I pointed back to the stairs behind me. "You sister channeler is waiting down there with the police and doctors, you are to head down there where its safe and the pokemon or whatever spirit's upset can't hurt or control you again."
"But-"
"Please, go there for now, its only temporary. Once its safe in the tower again, you'll be allowed up to this floor and higher, but until everything is set strait, you're only allowed up to floor two at the highest."
The woman sighed and nodded "I shall go then." Just as she was about to turn around, two hands shot out and grabbed the channeler's arms. I gasped and the woman screamed.
"Vine whip!" I suddenly heard and the two other possessed women that were behind the sane one were captured in many vines that prevented them from moving. The sane channeler was released from her hold and rushed down the stairs with her ghastly by her side. Vince and Alex came out from where they were hiding and I saw Ivysaur holding up the possessed women. Alex let out his Wartortle and waited. I could feel Chalcedony vibrating in my arms from his growling at the pokeballs in the women's hands. Finally the ghost pokemon showed themselves as a set of ghastlys, one for each woman.
"Alright Wartortle, water pulse!" From the water pokemon came a beam of a water gun with ring like pulses inside of it that hit the two pokemon, and with them being at such a lower level of strength, Alex took them out in one hit. The two pokemon snapped out of their hypnotic state and so did their trainers too right after them. Vince had Ivysaur bring them down to the ground and released them and their pokemon floated over to their sides.
"Head downstairs with the rest of yours sisters while we fix what's going on here." The women worriedly nodded to me and rushed down the stairs.
"We'd best head up to the next level then," Alex noted. My brother and I nodded to him and we rushed off toward the fourth floor.
At the top of the next set of stairs we came to an even foggier room level then the prior. With the silph scope in hand, I was easily able to see that like the last floor, the ghost pokemon more kept to themselves rather then attack us. Why was that? Why was it that only trainer ghost pokemon are like this rather then the wild?
"Violet! Behind you!" I didn't even notice that I hadn't stopped moving on the floor until I found myself in the middle of it, surrounded by graves and two pokeball filled hands wrapped around my body. I couldn't shake her off no matter how I moved or how I attacked with my legs that actually were free. I couldn't release Chalcedony from my arms since she overlapped them and Amber's tail was wrapped around my waist that was caught between both of the woman's and my bodies.
Amber finally freaked out to the point where she used a thunderbolt on us all, shocking the living tauros shit out of us. Trust me, it wasn't pleasant and something that I would not be recommending anytime soon for any treatment. With the electricity coursing through my body, I saw it shocked the pokemon out of the two pokeballs that were in the woman's hands. Two ghastlys came out this time and moved away from us so they didn't get hurt. Chalcedony pushed through the pain of Amber's attack and fired three shadow balls; the first two missed, but pushed the two ghastly together, where the third one finally smashed into their faces. Huh, maybe that why was Chalcedony like practicing his attacks on Alex…
Amber finally stopped her attack and the woman released me as she fell backward onto the ground. I fell forward and Chalcedony jumped from my arms to avoid the impact, but cried out just as I was nearing the floor before my face. I never felt it hit my face or body however. I suddenly flinched at the electricity that still coursed through my body; I knew I was at least lightly paralyzed from my pokemon. I looked around however to see who was my savior, and it turned out to be Amethyst.
"You always catch me when I'm falling, don't ya girl?" My charizard roared softly almost in a cooing and worried manor at my condition. She helped me stand and let me lean on her as another pulse of electricity coursed through me; it was not pleasant at all…
My charizard didn't like the way she saw me in pain and lifted me up onto her shoulders. I leaned forward against the back of her head and neck and breathed heavily, trying to rid myself of the pain I felt. Whoever said being electrocuted was fun, lied.
Chalcedony ran up Amethyst's body and I saw he thankfully hadn't been paralyzed like I had. He rubbed his nose and the side of his head against my stomach, trying not to cause me any more pain then I was already in. I wrapped one of my arms around Amethyst's neck to keep from falling off and used the other to pat his head.
"I'm alright boy, I'm alright," I whispered. "It'll pass."
I finally saw Amber off to the side on the ground; she looked up at me with tears in her eyes as she watched me wince every now and then from the electricity that was causing me now minimal pain, nothing like when she casted the attack. It was only by bad luck that I got paralyzed in the mist of it. She didn't dare come anywhere near me and wouldn't listen to me when I called her closer.
"Amethyst, please get her up here." My charizard nodded and reached forward, grabbing Amber before she could move and placed her just above my lap. My pokemon continued to cry, but didn't try to run away from me. I pulled her close to me and stroked her head.
"Don't be upset girl; I'm glad you electrocuted us."
Amber snapped her eyes up at me and angrily shouted, "Rai?! Raichu rai raichu chu rai!"
"Easy girl, look, if you hadn't of electrocuted us, that woman could have taken over my body and then what would you guys have done? I like having my own body." I hissed as the electricity charged through my limbs. "Although if you can remove the paralyze from me, I'd be greatly in your debt." Amber softened up her gaze and nodded to me before she curled into her body and I felt the electricity being drained. It hurt a bit to do so, but it felt good as the pain slowly faded away.
"Raichu rai?" Amber pulled away from me and checked me over to see how much pain I was still in.
"A lot better now Amber, thanks." She nodded and kept quite as I turned back to see where the others had ended up and I finally saw Alex and Vince locked into their own battles with other channelers that were possessed, they quickly took them out however and the women came to with their pokemon.
"Laurel!" One of them shouted and the women rushed over to the woman by me and her two ghastlys next to her. The two conscious women picked up the knocked out one on the floor and carried her over their shoulders. The other two ghastlys from the other women used their ghost powers to levitate the two knocked out ghost pokemon into the air and one of the women nodded to me thankfully before she and the other one hightailed it down stairs.
After they had left, Alex and Vince rushed over to me noticing how drained I looked on Amethyst's shoulders. The two boys tried to pull me off Amethyst's shoulders, but she wouldn't let them have me. She even growled and roared at them, forcing them to jump back in shock and fear.
"Easy girl, they're just trying to help." My shiny charizard snorted and stood her ground, determined to keep me from them and the ground until I was well.
"Are you alright Violet?" Alex questioned. "You took quite a hit when Amber electrocuted you."
"I'm fine guys, she just pulled a lot of electricity from my body, I should be fine when we get up higher. If I remember correctly, the channeler on the second floor said that one of her sisters was protected inside of the healing area on the next floor, that might help us out with healing and it might get me back up on my feet faster."
"Fine, but until we hit there, don't get off Amethyst." I rolled my eyes at Alex's comments and when he turned his back on me to head to the next level; I stuck out my tongue and blew him a raspberry. He immediately turned around and I quickly put myself in a bored position with my head rested against the back of Amethyst's neck. Alex growled under his breath, but turned around none the less.
I was only a few seconds away from bursting out laughing, but I kept it in since I knew Alex'd be pissed. Chalcedony though, and Amber and Amethyst, apparently had no problem with laughing at what happened, and soon, they forced me to join them. I got the most deafening glare from Alex when he looked back at us and we were able to hush it to a quiet set of chuckles, but in the long run, we just couldn't hide our laughter. Alex was just so easy to mess with!
Amethyst carried me and my other pokemon up to the fifth floor where we still saw the strange fog that was covering all these floors, but at the same time, I saw a light blue glowing in the center of the room. Amethyst easily flew over the grave like maze while the boys had to weave their way through it and landed on the large platform. A single woman was also inside with us who was huddled in the center, looking out to the edge of the glowing floor to see where her possessed sisters were trying to get inside, but couldn't because of the barrier.
"Are you alright?" I questioned her. She looked up at me and gasped and tired to pull me off my charizard, which ended up in Amethyst nearly biting off her face. "Stop that Amethyst!"
"Its alright… she's scared for you." The woman spoke in a quiet voice. "You've been injured… step onto the platform… it will heal you… as it does your pokemon." Amethyst then finally let me off her shoulders and with the help of the woman, helped me stand on the strangely glowing platform. As soon as my feet touched the ground, I felt instant relief from the pain I felt earlier. I sighed and I sat down on the floor.
"This feels nice…" I almost wanted to curl up there and sleep for a really long time; I didn't even realize how tired I was until I laid down.
"Water gun!" A suddenly shout brought me back form almost entering dreamland and I saw my brother and Alex show up with the pokemon, taking care for the three channelers in front of the protection zone. I sat up tiredly and rubbed my eyes as I watched Alex and red take out the channelers. Alex had out his growlithe now and Vince brought out his machop, which was having a blast throwing ghost pokemon all over the place. Vince sighed as he picked up his overly excited pokemon and held onto him in order to keep him from hurting anyone.
"Easy Machop! Honestly, we trying to help these people, not tear their arms off." The little pokemon paid no heed to Vince's words and continued to cheer in his arms, but didn't try to escape them. Vince groaned and looked back over at Alex. "Why did I get stuck with a pokemon with a personality like this?"
"Because you're just special." Alex snorted at him with a grin that contained hints of evilness. Vince glared back at the spiky haired boy and the two of them were locked in a silent contest of glares. I sighed and removed myself from the protected zone; feeling much better then I had before, and walked over to the stupid set of boys who were oblivious to everything around them other then their contest.
I walked around them and let them have their battle while I looked over to the three women and their ghastlys; they looked fine for the most part and probably would be waking up any moment.
"RAAAAR!" I ducked as I sudden roar and a large blast of fire fired over my head and I looked up before me to see another channeler and a different pokemon then before. It was burnt good by the fire attack that took the unknown ghost pokemon right out. I pulled out my pokedex and pointed it at the pokemon just as the pokemon and its channeler fell over from the attack, both burnt.
Haunter, the gas pokemon. If a haunter beckons you forward while it is floating in darkness, don't approach it, it will try to lick you with its tongue and steal you life away. Because of its ability to slip though block walls, it is said to be from another dimension. Haunter nests are rare and can only be found within the Pokѐmon Tower among its pre-evolved form, ghastly.
I turned back away from the channeler and the haunter to look back at my grinning fire type. "Thanks Amethyst." She roared softly and nodded to me.
"Are you alright Violet?" Alex questioned me worriedly and got down next to me on the ground where I was next to the channeler before Amethyst attacked the haunter.
"Yes Alex, I'm fine. Amethyst saved me." I brushed away his hands when they tried to help me up and I pulled the woman up into a sitting position as she slowly came too.
"What the…" She muttered before leaning back down toward the ground. "Oh, my head…"
"The side effects of being possessed sadly. Can you stand?" The woman nodded and slowly got to her feet with her haunter coming to behind her, shaking its own head and looking around at what had happened.
"Haun?" It questioned.
"You're alright now, but you and all the other channelers and their pokemon need to get out, Team Rocket's here in the building and something weird is going on. It's not safe for any of you, don't worry, more of your sisters are waiting below. Hurry down to the second floor and no coming back up without our okay." The women nodded and with their pokemon (and if any were still unconscious they were carried manually or by ghostly powers) headed down the stairs to the lower floors. When they were out of sight, I sighed.
"How many floors to the top guys?" I questioned as I stood.
"All that's left is floor six and seven," Alex replied as he stood as well, his hands probing nearby to make sure I was alright and wouldn't fall.
"I'm fine Alex; you can put you hands back in your pockets now." Alex rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
"Really? You look like your gonna fall over." I snorted and turned from him.
"It's true Violet, after this you need to go to sleep, if you don't in the middle of this," Vince agreed. "You've been up on the go since this morning when we battled, then you've battled Erika, then you invaded and took over the Team Rocket hideout, and now you're trying to save the Pokѐmon Tower, I'm actually shocked you haven't fallen over yet."
"Bite your tongue; I'll save the pokemon here from Team Rocket before I give in to sleep," I snapped and the boy recoiled back in a jump, hands up, trying to make peace with me.
I wasn't always the best tempered girl when I was tired, that's normally why I slept so much.
"You sure? Maybe you should head down to the police and-"
"I said I'll be fine!" I snapped at Alex and my pokemon finally started to get mad as well. I know they were worried for me, but if I said I could do it, I could in their eyes, and they were going to stick by me, they had that much faith in me.
"Alright! Alright, sheesh!" Alex jumped back as my pokemon made a few swings at him. "I got it, but you're going to bed after we save this tower."
"That I can deal with." I nodded to him and hurried with my pokemon to the next set of stairs to carry us up to the sixth floor. As soon as we got up there, I pulled out the silph scope and looked through its lens to see any invisible lines, ghosts or channelers. I was surprised when I saw all three at once. The boys quickly caught up to me and waited.
"We have three channelers on this floor, one of them has three ghastlys with her, the other two only have one. But that's not all," the boys looked at me questioningly for what was strange. "I can finally see where the lines that are connected to the pokemon and channelers here are coming from. I'm gonna go after it, can you guys handle the channelers?"
"Phsh, in my sleep Sis. It's no prob." Vince scoffed.
"We'll meet you at the top floor." Alex placed his hand on my shoulder and it was my turn to look at him questioningly. "Be careful Violet."
"Don't I always?" He raised his eye brow at my rhetorical question, but sighed and released my shoulder.
"Just be careful." I grinned at him and nodded before I took off to the area where I saw the invisible lines of possession coming from. The sounds of battle I could hear behind me as we rushed away from them. My pokemon hurried by my side and we approached the area where the lines all centered to. I saw them slowly fade away from the ghost like figure before me that held onto the strings, but as they soon faded to nothingness, the ghost was enraged.
"Turn back…!" it shouted before it rushed at us. Amethyst immediately breathed fire at it to keep it away from me and the ghost creature flew back. It settled itself on the ground and stayed there as it watched as waited for our next move. I couldn't see anything on how to beat it since it was a real ghost.
I heard a beeping sound off to the side and saw it was my silph scope. I held it out before myself and it shined a light onto the ghost before us, changing its shape. I soon saw the ghost to actually take a pokemon form and was a light brown in color with a slender build. It had a skull on its head and carried a large thigh bone in its hand as a weapon. A tail angrily whipped behind it and it leapt at us, after realizing its real form had been revealed.
I pulled out my pokedex to get more information on this pokemon so I knew how to fight it, but the pokemon lunged at mine and then me, its bone club high in the air read to strike.
Well, that woke me up.
Amethyst roared in anger and flew forward toward me, blocking the attack from the strange ghost before it could harm me. Amethyst pushed it back and Chalcedony then took that moment to shoot a shadow ball at it. Following that attack was Amber with a thunderbolt. The shadow ball attack hit head on and knocked the ghost back, but when the thunderbolt came, the pokemon just angrily looked at us, apparently the electric move had little or no effect, so my best guess was to assume it was a ground or rock type pokemon ghost, great…
"Alright, Amethyst use flamethrower, Chalcedony use shadow ball and Amber, you follow up behind their attacks with iron tail!" Both my long distance shooter nodded and Chalcedony started off with the shadow ball, Amethyst followed after it, hitting the shadow ball with fire, which actually combined rather then knocking each other out since they were heading in the same direction. Amber ran after it with her long vine like tail turned metallic silver behind it.
The combined ball of ghost and fire hit first, causing a lingering burn on the ghost from the strange effects of a combined attack. Amber then followed up, not allowing the pokemon to take a moment to recover and attack and knocked it out with iron tail. The pokemon ghost was thrown back and it suddenly stopped. It rose to its feet and looked directly at me. I felt as if it was looking at my soul from the way its eyes glowed, but not in an evil way anymore.
Finally the pokemon relaxed and faded into a ghost like figure again before it faded away. "Protect my children; stop the evil men in black… pure human…" The words were no louder then a whisper, but I felt as if they were spoken right next to my ear. With the figure gone and out of our way, the path was clear to venture to the top. I gathered Chalcedony in my arms and Amber climbed back onto my shoulders while Amethyst picked us all up and flew us up the stairs to the top floor.
Upon the top floor were a long line of graves on either side of me, there was also a large grave at the back of the room at the end of the two lines that were underneath a shrine. A lone man stood there before a small group of smaller versions of the ghost pokemon that I faced just a few moments ago. Between the two of us, there stood three Team Rocket members and Rose, pokemon out ready to attack; she must have gotten here only a short time before I did since nothing's happened yet.
"You see, I was right Rosie, we did see each other again soon, and even in the same night." I saw the woman freeze and hiss before she turned around to face me. The woman was dressed the same as she had been before, minus the white lab coat she had last time, and an additional few pokeballs on the side of her hips that she didn't have the last time we saw each other.
"I don't quite have the time to deal with you Violet, even if you have your shiny charizard with you, which I will admit looks even better then its pre-evolutions." Rose started out acting as if she really hated me, but soon she turned around and gushed with her eyes changing to hearts as she looked at my powerful fire type pokemon.
"Your eyes say otherwise," I replied snooty like. Her eyes turned back to normal and she glared at me.
"You know what, I think it's about time we got rid of you permanently Violet, and I'm ready to pumble you into the ground!" She looked to the men before her. "Send out all your pokemon! Do what you have to so she'll be weaker or defeated!"
The men she commanded easily nodded and threw out many pokeballs before us. A majority of them turned out to be zubat with a single golbat, the evolution of zubat, among the group of them was a drowzee, a rattata, a raticate and a koffing. Since most of them were flying types, they were mostly weak against electricity. I could nearly feel the vibrating evilness from my pokemon on my shoulders.
"Have at it girl." Sparking could be heard from right behind my ear and I watched as the Team Rocket members started to close in. Amber released a large sum of electricity at that moment which electrocuted all the pokemon, plus their trainers, Rose and the man and pokemon behind her were the only exceptions. The flying pokemon instantly went down with the other pokemon right behind them after only a few more seconds. The villains couldn't believe their eyes and I hear Rose hissing behind her frustration, curling her lips.
"I don't think your grunts'll be helping you this time." I glared at the other side of the room where Rose thought over her situation.
"We need these pokemon, grunts, get them while I deal with her." The grunts nodded rushed behind Rose to where the old man and the small group of pokemon behind him were. The pokemon group coward and the old man stepped before them, holding out his arms wide as to try and prevent the men from getting by him.
"Ivysaur, use vine whip to capture all the grunts!" I suddenly grinned in surprise and turned as multiple vines raced by me and attacked the grunts, halting them in their steps with them entangled in an array of vines. I watched behind me as the boys hurried up the stairs and I was actually surprised to see that Alex's wartortle was no longer a wartortle. It was an extremely larger pokemon now that was about the size of Amethyst. From the large size of the pokemon, you'd think it'd been eating entire berry groves to get so large. Its plastron was a tan color while the rest of its body was a dark blue like wartortle had been. Its shell was a dark brown with two large cannon like features sticking out of the two holes back there. Small claws were on both its hands and feet. I pulled out my pokedex and pointed it at Alex's new addition of power on his team.
Blastoise, the turtle pokemon. It crushes its heavy body to cause fainting. In a pinch, it will withdraw inside its shell. The pressurized water jets on this brutal pokemon's shell are used for high-speed tackles. There are no known blastoise nests in the region.
I gapped at the pokemon for only a moment before I smiled at the boys. "Alex! Vince! Took you long enough!"
"Sorry Sis, traffic was brutal getting here; you wouldn't believe the people and pokemon here asking for all our autographs," Vince joked and I rolled my eyes at the same time as Alex.
"So that's why I got to the staircase sooner then you, right?" Alex rhetorically asked him. Vince snorted and glared at the other male.
"You guys can duke this out later, right now I need you to help out that old man and protect him and the pokemon he's protecting while I take care of Rose. She's all that's left, the other pokemon are out cold." The boys nodded and rushed around me with their pokemon, standing protectively in front of the old man and checking them for any wounds of any kind.
"I've tired of this long wait Violet, your going down!" Rose hissed and threw out her pokemon. Only two pokeballs came forth, I saw they were the same pokemon from last time, but they were evolved. A gloom was the oddish I remembered fighting in Mt. Moon, while her ghastly had evolved into a haunter. "Attack!"
"Amethyst, flamethrower! Chalcedony, shadow ball!" I called out as Rose's pokemon raced toward us.
"Gloom use acid and Haunter use nightshade!" Rose snapped at her pokemon. From her grass pokemon's mouth came a large glob of horrid smelling glop that flew in the air and was heading toward my fire type. She in turn jumped into the air and I ducked to the side as it came at me afterward. I watched it hit the back wall and the dark purple substance slowly ate away at the wall, creating a large gaping hole in it before it finally disintegrated enough so that the acid was gone. From the air my fire pokemon shot its beam of fire down at the helplessly slow plant pokemon and burned it harshly. When the fire dispersed, the pokemon was burnt to a crisp and curled up into a ball on the ground.
On the other side, the haunter sent out a wave of dark purple ghost energy that was aimed at Chalcedony. He stood perfectly still as he waited for the attack to stop before he fired the shadow ball at the ghost pokemon. The haunter flew back when the small ball of purple and black energy hit it, but it didn't go down as soon as the gloom had, it still had some fighting energy in it.
I saw Rose angrily cursing and clenching her fists on the other side of the room before I heard her hissing. From behind her were the boys, the old man and the pokemon behind them, all cheering me and my pokemon on. She was loosing quickly and down to one pokemon. The haunter retreated to her side and she returned the gloom to its pokeball.
"I was saving this for another time, but I guess I'll have to use it now on you Violet." Rose angrily muttered and nodded to her haunter.
"Well, don't keep me in suspense, I'm waiting Rosie." I snickered as she growled.
"Haunter use curse!" She pointed directly at my pokemon as she made the command and the haunter came forward. Its eyes glowered red as it levitated above my pokemon. I was actually surprised when nothing happened to them, when I knew something was supposed to happen when curse was used. It was a mystery type move that has never been placed in any category of what type the move belongs to, due to its strange properties with all other types of pokemon and ghost type pokemon. Normally with any kind of pokemon that uses that move, it would simply raise its stats, but with a ghost type, it cuts the energy right out of any human or pokemon, and I've read it's quite painful.
A sudden wave of pain washed over me and it only made me think a moment to late what Rose's dirty plan to get away or get what she wanted was. I heard cracking from my joints and knuckles, muscles were being pulled at and my body was twisting upon itself. I felt like I couldn't breath and the supply to my lungs had been cut off. The haunter hadn't been looking at my pokemon… it'd been looking right at me.
I struggled to breath and when Amber picked up on my staggered breathing from down at my feet, she watched as my body collapsed. I couldn't feel the impact, nor my pokemons' claws and paws as they tried to snap me out of it or help me breathe again.
"Oh poor, poor Violet. Can't breathe now, can you?" I heard Rose speaking to me as if I was a young child in my back ground. I gasped out for the breath that I couldn't get into my lungs. I was suffocating.
"Let her go you bitch!" I heard both the boys yell at once. I heard them rushing around in the background as my vision began to cloud and I saw a brief glimpse of black and red before things started to get darker and more unclear.
"I should end her now rather then let her live, she's caused my boss and I too much trouble..." I could practically hear the smirk from Rose as she watched me wither in pain. I suddenly felt a clench on my heart, hearing more snapping, and tried to scream, but nothing emerged from my mouth.
"Water gun Blastoise!" Alex yelled in anger. I felt a light stomping on the ground through the vibrations before I felt a few drops of water spill over me and the sudden clamp over my lungs had been lifted. I gasped out for air which readily entered my lungs as I sucked it in before I screamed in pain.
After that single scream, I slowly started to calm down as some sort of conversation and battle floated around me. Gasps of pain croaked their way out of my mouth. Everything hurt, I might not have had anything broken, but I was in pain all over.
"The next time we meet, I'll be sure that she perishes by my hand!" I heard the psychotic woman gloat before her voice disappeared and I no longer could see any sign of her (or any color for that matter since I was nearly blacked out as it was).
I suddenly felt a set of arms curl up under my body and lift me from the ground. They were human hands since I couldn't feel any nails or claws digging into my skin that I knew all my pokemon had. I could only assume it was either my brother or Alex since I bet the old man couldn't carry me if our lives depended on it.
"Its gonna be alright now Vi, Rose is gone and everyone's safe now. We'll get you to a doctor…"
Alex's words trailed off as I finally drifted into the dark world of my own sub-conscious. I could no longer fight the darkness that was trying to encircle me, and I welcomed it with arms wide, no longer feeling the pain as I drifted further from reality.
Witch's Note:
Oh my God! Poor Violet is nearly killed by curse? Will she be alright? Will she get back at Rose for what she did? Who was the ghost Violet fought? And who's the old man and pokemon nest behind him in the Pokѐmon Tower? I bet all these questions are floating in your head right now, but you'll have to wait 'til next time for most of the answers. (Just a hint, which you probably already know, Violet's gonna have to be at least alive since she's the main character of the story, so I can't exactly let her go).
Well, I'll see you guys next time! Please remember to Review for me and send in any Questions! Please? I have so few right now and I know there are lots of you looking at my story, nearly two-hundred and five or so! I love you all, so please just say even the smallest thing! I'll see you next week!
