Pokѐmon Journey I: Violet's Trial

Chapter 16: Battle for Silph Co.

Violet's Point of View:

The wind whipped against my face and neck as Amethyst flew at her fastest speed in the dark night sky. Clouds had come over and spread over the city of Saffron, which Team Rocket had taken over. With my best friend and brother behind me on Amethyst and my other trusty pokemon flying behind me on Ruby's body, we were going to save the city. A city that we've never seen, one that's been on lockdown since Team Rocket started get stronger.

It was all quiet as we flew over the forests and densely thick areas that humans couldn't enter easily, but I could feel the sounds racing in my ears. I didn't know the condition of the city, and neither did the boys. It could be in ruins, people could be hurt or drying, we had to help them, no matter what.

Vermillion City came into view as we raced all over the region. I even glanced down as we passed by at the Vermillion City gym. As I glimpsed at it in the side of my vision, I saw Surge and his raichu, the one that lost its mate, the one that's still missing. It reminded me of what I was fighting for again, and that was for not only the city of Saffron, but also for Amber's mother. A poor pokemon that was dragged into this large mess against her own will, and taken from her daughter and mate. It made me sour just thinking about it.

Vermillion pulled away from view and soon came up the entrance to Saffron, the gates that have been blocked off by guards from the city. The guards sadly I saw were replaced with Team Rocket members that kept out an and all police forces that I saw where trying to help out the city.

It was time for our first move.

"Alright you guys, listen up!" My scyther looked up from its flying and rushed over to me with its raging eyes glazed over in hatred at what was happening below. "Here's what we need to do. First we need to help out the police get into the city. They've all been blocked at the entrances by members and don't have any other way in. Alex, Vince," I turned to the two boys behind me. "You two I'll drop of here, get rid of the road blocks and hurry your way into the city, clear the roads of any Rockets you see and knock them out." The boys nodded and I saw my brother pull out one of his pokeballs for the battle awaiting them. "Ruby, Zircon, I want you two to do the same over at the entrance to Saffron to the east, in Lavender Town. You'll see the large Pokѐmon Tower build into the mountain side; I'll show you where it is so you know where to go." The two of them nodded. "Chalcedony, Amber, you two will take the entrance from the north in Cerulean City. Make their lives miserable you two." I saw a gleam in their eyes as I gave them my order. "Amethyst, you and I will head to the entrance at Celadon City. You ready to burn 'em?" My fire pokemon grinned and blew a light puff of fire out before her. "That's my girl." I patted her head and neck.

"Alright, we'll head out now Sis." Vince stood up on Amethyst's back and I turned back to him in fear.

"Vince! What you doing?" I screeched at him.

"Jumping with Alex." Before I could do anything, he grabbed Alex's arm and the two of them jumped over the edge of Amethyst's body. I screamed and all pokemon cried out. Alex flailed as Vince kept his grip on him and they fell to the ground below. Vince then threw out the pokeball he'd gathered in his hand to the ground below and out popped his venasaur that was a few feet over the ground. His heavy weight caused it to crash back into the ground in less then a second and it sent out an array of vines out to catch Vince and Alex. I felt like I could breathe again when they were safely on the ground. My brother waved up to me as if none of that even took place and Alex started yelling at him. I sighed and left the two to yell at each other while I flew off with the others and prepared to get them set up at each gate.

"Those idiots…" My pokemon all nodded and agreed with me as we flew away from the south entrance and hurried over to the east one near Lavender Town. When I saw the building Ruby was supposed to hit with Zircon, I pointed down to it. "There's your spot you two, hit it hard and make sure to only go for Team Rocket and they're pokemon, help the pokemon if you can." My two newest pokemon nodded and handed over Chalcedony and Amber to me before they flew down to the area I pointed out to them.

I had Amethyst fly out of there once I made sure they'd be okay, but I knew they would after Ruby went strait into action. I saw Team Rocket members literally flying in the air as Ruby sliced away at them and Zircon attacked them with dragon rage. Those two were such a good pair together.

Amethyst flew as fast as she could toward the northern entrance to Saffron and we flew close to the ground so Chalcedony and Amber could jump off. Once they had I looked at the two of them.

"Have some fun you two, but don't hurt the citizens." My pokemon nodded before they grinned at each other and sped inside. I heard an immediate crash and screams and I sighed. Amethyst looked worried back up to me and I patted the side of her neck softly. "I'm alright girl. Let's go."

My charizard roared and leapt into the air from where she was hovering. We raced to the entrance at Celadon that we planned to help out and we watched the extra security that Team Rocket placed at the entrance to the building, which was the only way on land to get into the city. People and police were in large groups outside with their pokemon, trying to break down what I bet was a barricade that was on the inside of the building. Everyone was charging at the structure before them, unable to make a single dent to it, nor for the doors to budge.

"Look!" I heard some one shout below us. "It's Violet Vilmos and her shiny charizard!" I heard many cries from below and I had Amethyst dive. She plummeted to the ground and at the last second, she turned her body so that her feet hit the ground first and I felt the heavy jolt run through my body from the landing. I ignored it and moved on with Amethyst lumbering forward me with sitting on her shoulders.

My fire pokemon blasted the door with a flamethrower that was blue again from the power and the entire front of the building became ablaze. Everyone was cheering behind me and I quickly jumped off my pokemon and stood back from her slightly. My pokemon then charged at the doors and they crashed from her weight and strength. The police and people of Celadon cheered and I rushed in behind my pokemon to see her face to face with a couple members from Team Rocket. I could see the fear in their faces; this must have not been the first time they tangoed with my fire pokemon.

"Slash Amethyst!" My chariard's claws glowed white and in the next instant the Rocket members were flying in the air with any pokemon they had helping them out. The doors behind them took a majority of the blow of Amethyst's attack. She cut through them with the force of her attack like a knife though butter. They flew off their hinges and I hurried up to my pokemon once more. She hovered over the ground, flying once again and I jumped up onto my normal spot on her shoulders and grasped her horns before she took off through the building and many of the police followed from behind us into the city.

Once we arrived inside however, I saw how much in chaos the city truly was. The few trainers that were actually still in the city as Team Rocket had taken over were fighting for their very freedom and that of their pokemon as Team Rocket gained in on them. A few trainers in particular before us were starting to lose their battle to what I guessed were more powerful Team Rocket grunts. Amethyst blew a thick fire blast between the two parties and all trainers and pokemon turned toward us. I grinned with my pokemon as they slowly showed their fear of me and my pokemon.

"Someone alert the boss!" One of the Rocket's shouted.

"Fire blast Amethyst! Get them all!" My fire type pokemon face the many Team Rocket members and blew a large blast of fire at them that strangely took on the shape of a thin five pointed star. The Rockets ran for cover, but none of them were able to make it anywhere with the citizens of Saffron City closing off their homes to anyone that wasn't an ally. They flew and were thrown in the air with their uniforms on fire and the police quickly swooped in and started hand cuffing the lot of them. Only a few of the Rockets were able to get away from the blast and headed into the center of the city.

"After them Amethyst! We need to stop them and meet up with the others!" My pokemon roared so that her cry could be heard across the city and she leapt up into the sky with her powerful wings. I could hear the many cries out from the house holds below as they watched us fly by and attack the evil men that took over their city.

It didn't take us long to find one of the others, or rather two of them. Vince and Alex soon came into sight as they were taking out the southern end of the city that had been taken over. Vince was sitting easily on his venasaur's back and his back was to the base of his large flower. Alex was on the back of his evolved growlithe, who was now an arcanine. The two were attacking away with large flamethrowers and multiple vine whips. It was only a moment after we found them that Alex noticed me up in the sky. He waved up to me and I had Amethyst fly down to the ground below. She landed before the others as they took out the last Rocket Members in site before my brother grinned at me.

"Hey Sis! How was your side of town?" My brother had his grass pokemon come to a stop and Venasaur happily threw the Rocket members that he had on the ends of his vines into some of the walls of the buildings near by. Alex pulled up next to him and the two waited on my answer.

"Not as bad as I through, it feels like this is kinda small for an invasion of the city." I sighed and crossed my arms. "The Rocket's that we're fighting can't be much more then new members or very weak ones. And there's no way Giovanni could take over the city with this kind of team, it'd be too difficult for them."

"They must be all gathered at Silph Co. then." Alex guessed. "They had taken over the largest and most powerful building in the entire region. All the weaker members must be keeping everyone out, which would be at their level of handling things, while higher up members, Rose and Giovanni, must be inside the building, getting something from the building that they wanted."

"But we don't know what that is." My brother argued.

"It doesn't matter if we do Vince, either way, we need to get into that building and get them out with nothing to take. There's probably also hostages in there like last time. We need to help them out and get Team Rocket out." I voiced over them. "My pokemon should be joining us shortly; Amethyst should have been heard nearly half way across the region."

"I think she did, my ears are still recovering from that." My brother complained.

"Why don't you come with us and let Amethyst gather up the others? It'll be faster for her without the wind resistance from you body to slow her down." Alex suggested. "We'll all met up before the Silph Co. building and wait for them there."

I nodded to him and jumped off my pokemon's shoulders. "Let's do that then." I looked back up at my starter pokemon. "Go and find the others Amethyst, gather at the largest building at the center of the city, we'll meet you there." My fire pokemon nodded and took off into the sky, calling out for the others to come toward her. As I saw her body disappear, I turned back to the boys and nodded to them. "Let's get over there then."

"Hope on!" Alex threw out his hand to me and I grasped it just as his arcanine leapt off into the city, propelling me onto its back right behind Alex to hold onto.

"Wait up for me!" My brother cried out on his slow venasaur's back. I sighed and leaned my head against Alex's back. Damn you Vince… you're even more annoying…

I suddenly heard a gasp before me and I worriedly looked over Alex's shoulder at him. His breathing was slightly shaking and I could feel his body tremble under my own from the grip I had over his abdomen. His grip was tighter on his fire pokemon's fur.

"Alex? What's wrong?" I felt his body shiver under a sigh before me and he'd ignored my question. "Alex? You're starting to scare me."

In truth, he really had. To see this side of Alex was just plan unheard of, I'd only seen a look like this similar to when he and Daisy lost their parents, and Professor Oak lost his son and daughter in law. Alex was so conflicted and confused by the events; mixed with his anger… it gave him a look a vulnerability. But… this time… he didn't have that exact look. Sure, it held some pain behind it, but he looked more lost and confused. What's going on in his head?

I felt Alex's chuckle through the nerves on my arms. "I'm fine Vi, don't worry about me. I just… remembered something…"

"Your parents?" I felt him go slack under my arms. "That's the only other time I've seen you with a face like this."

"No…" he shook his head. "But it is a similar feeling."

"How's that?"

"Can we talk about this later?" He threw the conversation out and tried to change it. "We do have a city to save first."

I sighed. "I guess. But you and I are going to have a long conversation later about this, you're really starting to scare me with these phases you're having Alex."

"Fair enough."

"Rai raichu rai!" Off in the distance before the Silph Co. building was my entire team of pokemon waiting on the three of us, Venasaur and Arcanine. Alex and I made it there first on the back of the faster pokemon and I jumped off and hurried over to them. They all looked like they had taken no damage what-so-ever and that made me relieved to see. Even my baby dratini looked like it had had a blast taking out those Team Rocket grunts.

"It's good to see all of you. I hope you guys took out a whole bunch of them." My pokemon nodded while Ruby shrugged her shoulders.

"Scyth scyther scy scy." She looked slightly angry at the lack of stronger opponents and I shook my head.

"I'm sorry none of them were really strong Ruby, but we needed them taken out to help out the city. Don't worry though," I pointed to the large building that stood before us that was the tallest in the city. "Inside this building you should have tougher opponents; I'll even let you take first crack at either Giovanni or Rose. Both should be a good fight for you."

"And this time don't get hit by a curse attack." Alex reminded me.

"Yeah, yeah, I know Alexander." I huffed and turned away from him and mumbled under my breath. "It wasn't like I meant or wanted to be cursed and out for three days…"

"Shouldn't we get going? The longer we're out here, the more time Team Rocket has to get what they want, right?" I blinked my eyes at the intelligence my brother just placed before us. In fact, all of us blinked surprised at him. "What?"

"You just said something smart Vincent," Alex patted his back. "We'll celebrate after this and our individual training."

"…Hey!" My brother growled back at Alex once he caught on.

"Enough you two, lets get going." Everyone nodded and I withdrew my larger pokemon back into their pokeballs as we entered the building and carried Zircon in my arms and Chalcedony hung on my shoulder while Amber walked at my feet. The entrance to the building was entirely vacated and no one stood behind the desk that was in the corner of this large first floor. Two large water fountains were in the center of it with plants living off the water the slipped off into the soil where they were all placed around the edges. Other small bushes and trees were placed around the edges of the room and seating was on either side of the water fountains, but not near the stairs, the elevator or the door where we entered the building from.

"Let's start heading up." Before my brother could start heading over to the elevator, Alex threw his arm before Vince.

"Hang on Vince, this is an entirely situation then the one in Lavender Town or Celadon City. We need to think a bit first before we just charge into the place." I nodded.

"Yeah Bro, we need to think of a plan this time, we have an extra four floors to consider this time rather then just seven." I looked over at Alex. "In total, we have ten floors between the three of us to hit."

"Right, which means that one of us will be hitting an extra one compared to the other two." Alex led us to the back of the building and showed us the buttons on the elevator. "We need to figure out who gets that extra floor for dealing with Rockets and saving the hostages in the building."

"I'll take it!" Vince shouted out before we could discuss it. "I'll take it! I need the extra training so I can get my fifth badge once we get this all done with!"

"You sure you can handle that Vincy?" I questioned my older twin. "Alex or I can take the extra floor."

"Nope! I'm taking it!" My brother said determinedly. "We need the extra training and I'm happy to take an extra floor."

"Whatever you want Vincy, okay then, take floors two through five," Alex said to him. "I'll take floors six through eight and I'm more then willing to bet that Vi wants floors nine through eleven."

I grinned. "Then you guessed right Alex. I've got a score to settle with Rose." My pokemon growled in my arms at the mention of her name and Amethyst and Ruby's pokeballs angrily vibrated on my belt. Ruby and Zircon had been informed of my last encounter with Rose and they surely wanted to put the devil woman right in her place this time around.

I cracked the knuckles in my hands and pressed the button on the elevator to get it to us. When we waited a few moments and didn't hear it moving or even a ding that it was going to move, I got worried. "Why isn't this working?"

"This is bad." Alex hissed and moved up behind me to look at the notice next to the elevator. "Taruos shit!"

"What?" Vince questioned worriedly.

"The damn elevator is the only way to reach floor eleven, in case of emergencies, they have a secret staircase to get the president of Silph Co. out, but it can only be opened by him or someone on the floor up there."

"So we have to go on foot up the stairs and find whatever unlocks the elevator?" Alex nodded to me.

"It's the only way to get up there unless he can open the passage, but with Saffron being taken over for nearly four hours now, I find that hardly possible."

"Then we'd better get to work, I'll see you at the top!" Before the boys could utter another word, I bolted up the stairs with Amber keeping an even pace with me, practically going a head a foot or two to watch out for any Rocket members that might get in our way. In all actuality, I heard many of them shout as we raced by them to the top three floors.

HalloweenWitchHalloweenWitch

We had minimal trouble as we raced to the top floors and made it finally to level nine. Long hallways were what greeted me there. I actually was surprised to see that there were no Rockets there as I arrived. My pokemon were all on edge as they looked around for any Team Rocket members that might come out and attack us.

"It's that Violet Vilmos girl!" I heard someone shout from down the hallway. I glared down in that direction and watched as two Rocket grunts ran toward me. Two? That seemed to be a little short on men; did they really think I wasn't a threat here? "Don't let her get to the scientist!"

A scientist huh? That means there after plans and what not, that must be while most people aren't on the floor, so information about something could be obtained. I rolled my eyes as the Team Rocket members threw out pokeballs at me and out came a pair of drowzees. The pokemon started to move toward us and played with the psychic powers, but I simply looked at them with bored eyes.

"Can you handle them Amber? We need to find that scientist before he gets his hands on something he shouldn't." My raichu nodded and I took a turn down another hallway before the area lit up behind me with electricity and screams. I grinned at my pokemon's power before I shook myself off of that cockiness. I can't get cocky now; too many people need my help.

I turned the corner and came face to face with a healing center; it almost reminded me of a pokemon center for a moment. I saw a few many people there that were huddled into a corner of the room. I hurried over to them while I had Chalcedony and Zircon check out the next room.

One of the woman that looked strangely like Nurse Joy jumped and nearly screamed when I tapped her shoulder. I had to cover her mouth and turn her around to face me before she relaxed and many of the others did so as well.

"Oh thank goodness you're here Violet!" The Nurse Joy look-alike said happily through her tears. "You're here to get us out right?"

"Of course." I nodded. "I've got my raichu by the stairs and she'll make sure you get down there alright. You just keep running and get out of the building, Team Rocket outside is all beaten and should be taken by the police now, so there should be many people who can help you. Don't stop for anything, Team Rocket will do anything to get more hostages again." She and many of the others nodded before whispers all but erupted in the small group of workers.

When I heard the crashes and small explosions in the next room, I pushed all the workers toward the stairs and I pushed my way through the crowd to the other room where my two smallest pokemon were. I sighed when I saw the two of them were in one piece, then glared over at the scientist who dared attack them. The scientist hid himself behind most of the computer monitors in the room while the largest of my pokemon released themselves from their pokeballs. Growls echoed off the walls here so well that it almost felt like it was me who was growling instead of them.

Amethyst and Ruby lumbered forward and the scientist screamed as he backed away. I sighed. "Oh well, too late for you. You made my two strongest pokemon angry at you, you're screwed." His face went white while I simply had shrugged it off and grinned at him. Before he could move again, my two larger pokemon jumped into the air and raced at him. They were more or less playing with him and I was kidding when he'd managed to piss them off, but to see his facial expressions before and during this little show, it was worth it.

While the girls and the scientist were playing their game, I hurried over to the computer that the scientist was at. He actually had himself to a page of one of the products that had yet to be put up to any kind of market. It was called the master ball. I blinked a few times when I read the name and looked to the screen to read about it. The master ball is the newest and latest version of the pokeball that actually has no chance of fail when used against any kind of pokemon, including legendary pokemon, but it is unsure what the side affects of this product will produce so it has yet to be put out on the market, and will more likely be given out to special trainers in the world. Only five have been made and only one remains in the Kanto region. After that it was just a whole bunch of schematics about the ball and how to make it.

When I glanced down at the side of the computer, I saw there was a flash drive for him to download the information, and it was only three quarters of the way there. The master ball would be a great assist to Team Rocket and Giovanni should they get their hands on it; they could catch any pokemon without having to fight them. That would be really bad for even Vince, Alex and I. A legendary could be a very powerful and worth adversary, but as an enemy, that's a bad thing. I can't let that happen.

I ripped the flash drive out of the computer and the scientist freaked and bowled his way over to me. Zircon freaked at my feet and jumped up into my arms before he screeched and sent a dragon rage at the scientist to the wall, and then almost through it. My mouth was a gaped as I watched as parts of the wall started to fade away from Zircon's attack. I had to get Zircon's attention for him to stop the attack and not send the scientist over the edge. I startled Zircon and his attack stopped instantly. He looked back at me and I smiled at his work. The scientist was definitely out of it and the work of Silph Co. was saved for the time being.

"Good job Zircon. Now hang on a second for me." He looked at me questioningly as I handed him over to Ruby and pulled off my side bag to rummage through it. "Here it is!" I pulled out a rope I had at the bottom of my bag and measured it out to a certain length. "Ruby, cut the rope right next to my right hand." She did so and I put down the rest on the ground while I tied up the guy and had Amethyst grab him. "So he can't get any more information or download anything while we try and save everyone here. Amethyst, set him by the stairs and we'll deal with him later with the police. We have a raichu to pick up and another two floors to save."

My pokemon raced with me back to the entrance to the floor and we saw Amber there sparking her checks dangerously at the knocked out grunts and their pokemon. When she saw me and the others she perked right up and grinned at me. "Rai!"

"Any problems at all girl?" I questioned. She shook her head and looked back at the grunts, one of them was stirring and he freaked when he saw Amber was still there.

"Don't hurt me! Please!" He shouted.

"Then get out!" I snapped. "Or I'll make you!" The man then when entirely white when he saw me and my army behind me. All my pokemon and I growled at him intimidating like and he finally flipped. He retuned all the pokemon he had out and threw his friend over his shoulders before he bolted for the stairs that headed down. Once he was gone I snorted at him.

"I can't believe the region was afraid of these idiots." My pokemon nodded and agreed with me as we headed to the next floor. As we reached the stairs I saw a flash of red and I was frozen. "Rose…"

I raced up the stairs with a momentum I didn't know I had. My pokemon cried out and followed behind me, but I continued to race after the red curly locks I knew I saw. "Rose!"

"Come and find me Violet!" I could hear her laughter and snickers behind her words and it pushed me to my limit. I made it to the tenth floor in my hot pursuit of her and pushed my way through the closed doors only to find her standing there and looking smug. She wasn't alone when I saw her. She had a ghost pokemon next to her; it must have been an evolution to her haunter. It was still purple in color like the ghastly and haunter were, but it was larger in size, like a fat chibi person. Its head was spiky all over and there were two large spikes on the side of its head that you could almost mistake for feline ears. Its feet and hands were small and consisted of no more then three toes or fingers that were tinier then my finger nails. It grinned evilly at me with its bright red eyes.

"Cruse her Gengar!" Rose grinned and I felt my inside weld up in fear before I felt the pain all over again. My insides crushing down on me, the weight of being unable to breathe. I remembered it all over again just like before…

Just like before…

"EE!" I saw a flash of brown run by me and suddenly the pain was lifted off my body and I collapsed into a set of await arms. My head pounded and I coughed out to breathe, but I was in much better shape then I had been the last time we encountered each other. When I finally felt my senses coming back to me, I saw that I was in Amethyst's arms and I felt her claws on my sides. I sighed; relieved to know she and the others were there.

"Rhuu!" Amethyst growled at me.

"I know girl… I was stupid and played right into her hands. Sorry." My charizard only snorted and grabbed me. She placed me on her shoulders and glared down at Rose. The woman in return smiled and sighed as she looked once more at Amethyst's form.

"Oh how a girl could get use to this!" She nearly squealed. "Oh your so pretty you shiny charizard you! Your trainer did well naming you after a gem!"

"RAA!" Amethyst blew fire directly at the woman and the gengar took the damage, but Rose still managed to get her hand burned when she defended herself with her arms before her face. She hissed and cried out before she looked at Amethyst for the first time in rage. I didn't think Rose had it in her to be mad at any shiny pokemon, but with Amethyst on my side, I think she was going to real soon.

I suddenly saw Rose calm down with a deep slow breath in her lungs. "Such a beautiful and powerful creature, oh how I wish…"

"Not happening, plus, it'd be a pretty cold day in hell before Amethyst would even think about helping or joining up with you, right girl?" My charizard nodded and growled. Her body began to get its black aura once more and I saw she was beginning to rage, and after the attack on me just moments ago, I'm willing to bet that it's going to be a powerful one. Rose's pokemon would be crushed.

"Then a cold day in hell it shall be! Now gengar!" I suddenly gasped when I saw the pokemon was gone from sight, while it did leave Rose wide open, I couldn't see, which meant my pokemon couldn't either. I quickly reached into my bag and looked around for the gengar with my silph scope and suddenly saw it right behind me. I turned to face and to shout to my pokemon, but it caught me in its attack once more and I fell to the ground, chocking on my own breath. I heard all my pokemon fussing over me and Rose's laughter in the background.

"I told you it'd be a cold day in hell." She taunted us. "And here's a deal for you my dear Amethyst, if you agree to be apart of my team, I'll let your dear trainer live. If not… Gengar? If you please." I looked up toward her and her pokemon beside her. Its eyes glowed dark red, like that of blood before I felt the curse attack it had on me come down on my left arm. I suddenly had the air to scream and out it came as all the bones started to be snapped apart one by one.

I seethed through the pain and looked over to my beautiful shiny charizard. Tears were streamed down her face and she looked torn. I reached out for her but another wave of pain came to me through the curse. I couldn't hold up my own weight to reach her or any of the others…

"Don't do it girl…" I tried to yell it out, but I felt so weak, it only came out as a whisper… My poor charizard had no idea what to do.

"Come to me Amethyst, and I'll take good care of you while she gets to live." My charizard looked back at me one more time before I saw her bend down and nuzzle the side of my head. When she pulled back, I saw small bits of my own blood upon her snout. She cried and pulled her pokeball off my belt and started to walk toward Rose.

"No…" I tried to reach out for her, but the gengar kept me pinned down and the rest of my pokemon were unable to do a thing with me in danger. I could see the two of them laughing on the other side of the room while I watched Amethyst giving up so much for me.

I couldn't loose her, she was the first pokemon I ever had, my closest friend, a little sister that protected me while I looked out for her. I felt the same way about every pokemon on my team, I couldn't think about loosing a single one of them.

And I certainly wasn't about to loose my precious gem. It was my turn to protect her!

"I SAID NO, DAMMIT! FOR MEW'S SAKE AMEHTYST, LISTEN TO ME!" My charizard turned around in such a rush and I pushed myself through all the pain that I was put through to grab her arm and pull myself to my feet before propelling myself forward toward Rose. Her gengar was shocked and flew out of the way when it saw my blood covered face. Rose was just as frozen as my right fist bunched up and slammed into her face, her nose shattering upon impact.

She was thrown into the wall from my punch and quickly jumped to her feet to take me out. She swung her legs beneath me and I jumped over them before I swung my foot at her face again, also making contact with it. It hit the side of her skull and tossed her body into a roll across the office floor on this level. I threw my body after hers and I felt the pain lift even more, the shock my attack must have forced the gengar to stop its curse upon me. She jumped from the spot where she landed and rushed at me, grabbing my broken left arm. I screamed, but threw around my right one to fist her gut, the wind was knocked right out of her and she collapsed.

I kicked the side of her face once more and she rolled into the glass desk behind her, splitting open her head and blood flowing down. I didn't bother to look at my face as I looked back at my pokemon who all nervously looked at me. I breathed deeply and wobbled on my feet as I hurried over to Amethyst and took her pokeball back from her.

"I told you it'd be a cold day in hell before she could even think of getting you, do not tell me it was that cold already, was it Amethyst?" My pokemon simply teared up and pulled me into her arms and I resisted the urge to scream. My left arm was pressed right against her belly, but I wasn't about to ruin her moment with me.

"Rhuu…" Amethyst tears fell onto my back and I pushed away slightly so that way she could see me.

"Don't you dare do that again Amethyst, got it? Rose might end up more beaten up next time if you don't listen. And speaking of that witch…" I turned back to the spot where she landed and I used my good hand to pull the rope out of my bag and handed it to my fire pokemon. "I need someone else to tie her up, my arm's totally gone."

Amethyst nodded and whipped away her tears before she grabbed the rope and got a devilish glint in her eye before the rope went in a million directions before it all circled in on Rose. When I next got a good look at her, (once Amethyst moved to the side and smiled proudly at her work with an arm pointing me in the right direction) I saw that Rose had been tied up with every inch of my rope, her hands had been tied up behind her back, which was connected to her tied up chest, her legs, and her hair, which Amethyst had somehow made a rope bow on top of her pulled back blood colored locks.

"Nice touch girl!" I laughed before I hugged my chest in pain and seethed. "I said it once and I'll say it again, curse hurts!"

All of my pokemon nodded and the rest of them deemed it safe to come close to me again. Amber jumped up onto my shoulder of my good arm and tried to wipe away the blood on my face with her paws. Chalcedony and Zircon were about to join her and do the same thing when I waved them off and told them not to. "Relax you guys, its just blood; I'll clean it up later.

"Raichu rai chu chu rai." Amber argued softly.

"Hmm… you're right about that, but I can't do anything about that, and my arm's broken, they'd see that anyway."

"Ee eevee ee ee eevee ee?" Chalcedony questioned evilly.

"No Chalcedony, we can't just leave the guys, we still have to face Giovanni, and I know he's here if Rose is. This is too big of an operation for him to just sit out, especially with the monster lot like us around to stop him." I grinned at the others and Ruby sliced away at the air.

"Scy scyther scythe scy!" Ruby was nearly on a high as she looked forward to the fight.

"Don't worry girl, you get first crack at him and his pokemon, I promised you that after all, didn't I?"

Zircon jumped into my good arm and Chalcedony jumped onto the same shoulder while Amber jumped off and stood at my feet. "Now let's get going you guys, I still have to deal with my brother and Alex, and they'll freak when they see me." All my pokemon nodded sadly and we hurried walked over to the elevator with my pokemon making sure I didn't fall as we headed back to the stairs and the elevator right next to it.

When we reached there I took a look around at all my pokemon and saw how strong and determined they were. It brought a smile to my lips. As I looked at my ill impatient Ruby, I caught a slight reflection of skin and red color on her scythe. I gently reached over and lifted it to my face, and that was exactly what I saw. From the curse attack, I saw that streams of blood had come out of the edges of my eyes, my nose and my mouth, some of it being smudged in the process and left it all over the lower half of my face.

"She really messed me up this time…" I sighed and released Ruby's arm. My bug pokemon snorted and crossed her arms.

"Scyther scythe scy scy scyther." She nearly laughed and I couldn't help but laugh at her comment.

"And I'll get her back even worse next time. Right Ruby?" My bug pokemon grinned and nodded. "Now let's get you a powerful battle so you can be satisfied."

I pressed the button to the elevator and waited a few seconds before I saw that the elevator was doing the same thing it was before, it wasn't moving or showing any signs that the guys had found the key card yet. I sighed. So now we have to wait I guess, maybe that'll give me time to clean up and not freak out the guys so much…

I wasn't given the opportunity before I heard the elevator ding and I felt it thought the floor coming toward us. I saw the lights light up before me on number five and slowly came toward us. When it reached our floor on number ten, the doors opened to revile Alex and Vince. It took them only a moment to look at me, but once they had, it was all over for me. They stood frozen and I withdrew Ruby and Amethyst for the time being as I entered the elevator with the boys and hit the button for the next floor. The silence was killing me and I almost wished they'd yell at me, but instead, I saw Alex pull out a rag of some sorts and douse it with water. He wrung it out and then started to wipe away at the blood on my face.

"I should be yelling at you, but I'm just glad that you seem alright other then this mess on your face." Alex murmured. He gave me a glance while he worked. "Did she manage to do anything else to you?"

"Left arm's broken." I replied. "She really loves to curse me, but I don't think she'll be doing that again any time soon."

Vince scrunched his face in question. "What'cha mean by that Sis?"

"She was even worse of a mess then I was when I left. And Amethyst added her own touch in the end so she can't move, but her gengar was never knocked out, so I bet it's getting her out of there. I know I at least busted her nose and face and knocked the wind out of her."

Alex raised an eyebrow at me. "What the hell did she do to get you so pissed?"

I sighed and crossed my arms. "She used curse on me and used me as a hostage to convince Amethyst to join her team." My brother and Alex blinked in surprise and even Alex stopped his work on his face. I looked back at them. "They've protected me so many times, it was about time for me to protect them, and I wasn't about to lose one of my precious gems."

"I didn't think you would have." Alex finished then on my face and pulled back the blood stained white rag. "None of us would have."

I smiled at him. "Thanks Alex."

"Don't thank me just yet; we still have to deal with that broken arm of yours."

"What about my jacket?" Vince questioned. "Can't we use it as a sling?"

"No," Alex shook his head. "The sleeves are too short, it could chock her and we'd be finishing Rose's job for her. And I don't have any other clothes or anything on me."

"What about the rag you used to clean me up? I don't care if it's stained." Alex looked back at the cloth in his hands and sighed.

"I guess it'll have to do then." He took the rag and folded in half before he placed the larger center part under my arm and tired the two ends behind my neck. I hissed at the pain, but allowed my arm to settle into it. Alex and Vince watched me cautiously as I bore through the ordeal.

The elevator finally dinged and we saw we were on the top floor, number eleven. The doors opened and we saw an extremely large room with Giovanni before me on one side along with the evolved forms of nidorina and nidorino, a nidoqueen and nidoking, while on the other side of the room was a small, fat man who sat at the head of the company with his tall and beautiful secretary next to him.

"Hey Giovanni!" I heard the man growl and he turned around to face me. "I was wondering when we'd meet again, a lot of people are pretty pissed at you."

"Its part of the way of life I'm aiming toward, Violet Vilmos." His angry look turned into a smile. "Things have changed since the last time we met, and you also shouldn't be messing around in adult affairs. Can't you see the chairman and I are busy at the moment?"

"It's my hidden talent for ruining everything." The boys snickered behind me.

Giovanni sighed. "Very well, if you insist on facing me again, I suppose I can set aside this meeting to deal with a young child."

"If I remember correctly, this child beat you and your pokemon around the room last time we battled."

"Your sass never ceases to amaze me Violet." Giovanni shook his head and threw his hand before him, pointed in my direction. "But you won't succeed this time around. Nidoqueen, Nidoking, remove them from here!"

I rolled my eyes at his attempts to throw us out and released Amethyst and Ruby. The two of them growled at they and the two enemy pokemon were in a stair off contest. Giovanni and I were in one ourselves as we silently dared each other to see who would make the first move.

"I see that Rose got to you, Violet. That woman certainly has a love for your charizard, but a hatred for you." I only smirked at his words.

"I know, but in truth she really loves me, she only uses curse on me to show her affection." Giovanni rolled his eyes at my comment.

"Say all you want, but Rose isn't my second in command of Team Rocket for nothing."

"Second in command? I didn't think she was that high up."

"Rose is one of my most trusted members; I'd trust my work to her without a doubt that she'd betray me. And you don't know the first thing about Rose and I."

"Well, I guess I'll just have to figure that out for myself. Ruby, silver wind around the two pokemon, then once they're surrounded, Amethyst use fire blast!" Ruby fluttered her wings in the air and sent a gust of the powdery attack at the nidoqueen and nidoking. It bashed at their sides, but did little other damage to them then throwing them back.

"Like that would stop my pokemon!" Giovanni laughed. "I think you've lacked training while you were away Violet!"

I rolled my eyes before I grinned. "I don't know what you're talking about Giovanni, but did you know that fire is super effective over bug attacks?" I saw the man stiffen before he paled and put two and two together. "Amethyst now!" My fire pokemon let loose her fire attack upon the silver wind that Ruby had created. Then entire wind exploded in flames and the room nearly turned an orangey yellow color from the bright light that everyone had to look away. "Man, I'll have to use that attack more often, but not in closed quarters."

The evidence of the power was soon there when the smoke and light cleared away and all that was left was the two pokemon on the other side, charcoaled black. I saw the female one puff out a large chunk of black smoke before she collapsed to the ground. The male however, shook off most of the soot and glared over back at us, Ruby especially for some unknown reason.

"Your in trouble now you pesky girl! My nidoking is a force to be reckoned with when he loses his mate, and the same goes vice versa."

"So?" I yawned in a bored like tone. "Ruby, take him out with fury cutter." My scyther bound forward with a leap and with her dangerous scythes she sliced up every inch of skin she could on the nidoking. For a finishing touch, she kneed the nidoking in the stomach and he fell to the ground. Ruby then threw around her scythes before she leap ahead to get at Giovanni. He returned his two pokemon and threw out the next, which she backed away at incase it was one she couldn't deal with.

And it turned out to be that just one.

Even though I'd beaten this pokemon before, Ruby was at a super disadvantage with the types the two of them were. Giovanni's rhyhorn was raring to go, and Ruby was, but she was nervous as well when she saw the type match up.

"Its alright Ruby, you don't have to fight this one. Come on back." I nearly saw my bug and flying pokemon sigh and she flew back to me on her wings before she landed next to Amethyst and the two of them quietly talked while Giovanni waited on my next pokemon. "Hey Chalcedony, wanna bite off its tail again?" My little eevee grinned and leapt from my shoulder out into the scorched office area before us and the rhyhorn jumped back in fear of my trouble making eevee.

"Wipe the floor with him Chalcedony!" Vince shouted.

"Sink you teeth into him like you did last time!" Alex shouted.

"My rhyhorn will not be defeated like last time!" Giovanni snapped.

"Then why is it cowering in fear before my little eevee?" Giovanni blinked and looked over to the side where his rhyhorn had disappeared off to. It looked like it was trying to hid under the table by the looks of it and my eevee made playful bites at the air around it and it shook fearfully with its front paws over its face.

"You stupid pokemon! Get up and fight!" The evil man shouted.

"Why don't you shut up?" I snapped back at him and Chalcedony fired a shadow ball at him that hit him square in the face. He coughed and hissed at me. "Pokѐmon are living creatures just like us humans. They're not tools to be used, they're our friends and allies in this world and you'd do well to remember that when you need their help to achieve what you want. Chalcedony," my eevee looked back at me with questioning onyx eyes. "Release the rhyhorn."

My pokemon made little effort of rushing over to the other side of the room and grabbing the pokeball in Giovanni's hand that belonged to the rhyhorn. He tossed it back to me by flipping his body into the air and as it soared at my head, Ruby lashed forward with her scythe and severed the top half from the bottom in less then a second. Giovanni's eyes were wide, as was the rhyhorn's that looked up at me from under the table. Its eyes were gleaming with hope behind its fear.

"Go on Rhyhorn, get out of here and get away from him. He can't use you anymore." Its eyes widened at me and all of a sudden the table was thrown across the room where it had been hiding under and it bolted for the elevator, shaking the entire building as it ran. "Vince! Alex! Someone get the elevator for the poor pokemon!"

"On it Sis!" My brother shouted out and ran for the button, but Alex was quicker and made it there first and hit it dead in the center. The rhyhorn came to a skidding stop inside the elevator and Alex poked his head inside and hit the ground flood button. I saw the poor pokemon turn its head back to me while in its confined space and it smiled at me. I gave it a grin back along with a thumb up and the doors then shut and the pokemon was on its way to freedom.

"You damn brat!" Giovanni spat and his composure began to crumble. "That was one of my most powerful pokemon! It was also very rare!"

"So?" I hissed at him, both out of anger and the pain in my arm from all this stress. "You miss treat pokemon all the time, the least I can do is set free the ones that don't want to fight." Ruby then jumped before me and egged him on with one of her scythe like arms and I did the same with my hand. "Now are you gonna fight me like a man, or flee like a coward like last time?"

Giovanni cringed at the memory I spoke of when he abandoned his old base in Celadon City. The last time we'd faced one another (not an entirely long time ago need I mind you), I'd won with no problems and sent him packing with only using two of my three pokemon I had at the time. I've now hardly used three pokemon (if you even call what happened a minute ago a battle with Chalcedony freeing the rhyhorn) in this battle, and if I remember correctly he shouldn't have more then a pokemon or two left, but unless he went out and caught another, I don't think he has many more that he can carry on him for me to face.

Giovanni sighed, as if he knew how the battle was already going to no longer be possible to turn into his favor, but he was still going to do as much damage to my team as humanly possible. He pulled out one last pokeball from his pocket and he was all in. He threw it out and out popped his kangaskhan from the last time. It still had the furious and lethal look to its face that wanted to kill me and my team on sight.

"We might not win this battle with you Violet Vilmos, but I'm not about to let the master ball slip through my fingers when we've come so close!" Giovanni eyes held a fire in them accompanied by that of a dagger of rage in his eyes that seemed to be soaked up by his kangaskhan that roared and began to expand the black aura like mist around it. In the next second he sent the mindless beast at us while he leapt toward the president and his secretary next to him.

I gasped and looked over at my two fastest pokemon. "Ruby! Amber! Stop him and protect the president and the secretary!" The two of them used their abilities of blinding speed to appear before the two that needed protection and Giovanni halted in his tracks. I sighed with him taken care of for the moment and looked to my fire pokemon. She was already using rage and absorbing it from myself from my pain and anger for the low blow Giovanni was about to stoop to achieve getting the master ball in his possession. "Take out the kangaskhan Amethyst."

My fire pokemon roared and leapt forward to meet the kangaskhan for battle. The large normal type growled and leapt toward my pokemon and the two locked their hands in deadly grips like they had the last time. Both were keen on winning and not letting down their trainer.

Suddenly the kangaskhan made a low jab at my fire pokemon and she bowed over in pain from her bruised stomach. With her grip weakened the normal type pokemon pulled back one of her fists and sent it flying into Amethyst's face while her other fist kept Amethyst in place with their hands still connected. Amethyst fell back, but was thrusted back with a pull on her still held claw. The next time it was a headbutt that the other pokemon used.

Amethyst finally got back into the game by sinking her teeth into the free fist of the kangaskhan. The pokemon roared and backed away, finally releasing Amethyst's hand and then I saw flames erupt around my fire pokemon's fist before she threw it at the normal type and was thrown back into the wall. I pulled out my pokedex to see what move it was and soon it replied to me that it was 'fire punch'.

When I looked back up to see my pokemon, I saw both her fists were ignited and she was whacking away at the enemy pokemon with the power of her rage right behind it, her body covered in a dark aura while her fists were turning white from the intense fire.

"Go Amethyst!" my brother cheered. I didn't hear a cheer from Alex this time, but when I looked back to check on him, he was grinning at my victory I already had in my hands.

"Alright girl, lets finish this up with fire blast!" My pokemon swelled up with intense power that just kept building inside her.

And then I saw something that I'd never seen before.

My darkly colored shiny charizard's body began to glow and suddenly flame markings of a neon red color appeared on her body and face before a glowing beam of white fire exploded from her mouth and enveloped the last enemy pokemon. There wasn't even a shadow of the pokemon left while the blast took it and swallowed the pokemon whole. I gasped at the power as did all my other pokemon as we watched. Amethyst, after a moment, stopped her fire and watched to see if her opponent had survived from the blast. The markings were still all over her and she only just noticed them when she went to turn around and head back to us. She gaped at them and just as she was starting to look at all of them, they vanished. She was back to her normal shiny charizard looking self and she sighed as well as the rest of us.

I walked over to her side as she winced in pain. Ruby was over to her in the next second and allowed Amethyst to lean on her and I put my body under her other side. With the two of us supporting her, Amethyst was able to stay on her feet.

"Damn you Violet…" I breathed deeply as I looked over at Giovanni. "What is it that makes you so strong?"

What makes me strong? I blinked and raised an eyebrow at his question. I work together with my pokemon and I care for them, we're a team. How you can't understand that is more of a mystery then what you're asking me.

Giovanni's angry sigh reached my ears and brought me back to listen. "I don't understand why you're so powerful, maybe it's your pokemon, maybe it's that you stand against me, but whatever that case may be, the next time we clash it won't be you who wins Violet Vilmos."

"You said that as well last time Giovanni, what makes you think next time will be any different?"

"Because I'll be on my own domain once more. The time we'll meet you face the full force of Team Rocket." I saw him bite back his own tongue and he bowed to me. "Until we meet again, distruttore del mio sogno."

The place filled with smoke and I turned into Amethyst's body to avoid the gases. It only lasted for a minute or so, but when we were given the chance to look once more, Giovanni was gone. I curse at myself for falling for the same trick twice.

"Vince! Alex! Stop him!"

"We can't Vi, he took the elevator." Alex sighed.

"If you two hurry, you can use my emergency exit to reach him." We looked over at the president over behind his desk. He pressed a button of sorts and a door appeared on the side of the conference room. "Please stop him!"

"We're on it, you take a breather Sis, you've done a whole bunch of crap already." My brother patted my shoulder and took off with Alex down the stairs after Giovanni and any other of his minions in the building. I was left with my pokemon and the president of the company along with his sectary.

"Please take a seat Miss Vilmos, you must be exhausted." The secretary moved over to the other side of the office table and moved out a seat for me.

"Do you have anything for my pokemon too?" I questioned.

"Of course Miss Vilmos, the seats that we have here are made with the latest technology for people of all sizes and shapes, even that of pokemon for some of our workers and clients." The secretary explained to me and changed the size of the seats next to me to the size for Amethyst. With the help of Ruby, Amethyst lumbered over to it and sat down in the seat, she looked more exhausted then she normally did after a lot of trainer or a major battle. The rest of my pokemon's seats were adjusted and the secretary headed back over to her spot next to the president and stood beside him.

"You have done us a great deed by saving us and the city from Team Rocket, dear Violet Vilmos." The president said with a relieved smile on his face. "And for that feature that you and your pokemon have done for us, we owe you."

"You don't owe me anything, I hate Team Rocket just as much as everyone else dose. And someone has to do something about them." I paused for a moment and glanced at the pokeflute on my bag that Mr. Fuji had given me. "Team Rocket's also associated somehow with my father who disappeared two years ago. I'm trying to find out what happened to him or where he is."

"And your father is Haze Vilmos, isn't he?"

I blinked. "Yes, how'd you know?"

The president sighed. "Your father was a good friend of mine, to be honest; he was once one of my employees and was the brilliant mind that came up with the master ball project, though it took many years to find his work on it since he encrypted it and hid it before his disappearance. He was a worker who tended to perform his studies at home so he could stay closer to his family while he worked at other jobs he preformed, like being a pokemon trainer, which was his ultimate passion."

I looked down at my hands. "That makes a lot more sense about our childhood then, why he was always spacing out and working with papers and computers."

The president sighed. "Haze was a true friend of mine, one that wanted to use the master ball to capture and protect certain pokemon from danger, to protect the legendary pokemon from Team Rocket and their boss, Giovanni." I watched as the man fiddled with what sounded like a lock on his desk before he pulled out a small pokeball that was purple on the top half and white on the bottom half with two red lumps on either side of the purple half with a white 'M' between them. "It's my duty to give you the master ball and keep it safe, use it to protect the legendary pokemon like you father wanted."

I sighed shakily. "And you're sure I can have this? What about your company?"

"That doesn't matter, but we want you to take the master ball and all information about it with you so that Team Rocket can't get their hands on it. We want you to keep it safe." The president jumped out of his chair and walked over to me and handed over a fat manila folder, filled with papers and a disk or two and the master ball. "Our company was more or less designed to accomplish that, to help and protect the legendary pokemon from harm and destruction. While we'll still continue to grow and develop in many other aspects to help the world, Silph Corporation has achieved its long wished mission to create a way to capture and protect the legendary pokemon, and now its your mission to carry out Haze's wish to capture and protect them like he wished, so that they could continue to live peacefully as the rest of us had done before Team Rocket had emerged."

I sighed as I took in all the information and the trust this man was putting into me, but I guess I was one of his only options as Haze Vilmos' daughter. It also didn't help that Team Rocket was an easy battle for me all the time, with the exceptions of Rose and Giovanni. While they were a little harder to battle, they played dirty, they didn't fight fair. My arm is proof of that and so is this heist for the master ball and its plans.

"Alright, I'll take it." I sighed and put the items inside of my bag along with the master ball inside of my bag as well.

"Thank you Violet, I know your father would be proud of you," the president sighed and he looked away sadly. "Wherever he is…"

"I hope to find out what happened to him, I found out so far that he messed up Team Rocket's plans in the past like I had, but he disappeared after a explosion in the Victory Road where we'd received our last letter from him. Before that explosion, he'd been at Mr. Fuji's place in Lavender Town to tell him that he was going to stop Team Rocket… no one's heard from him sense."

"I see… that does answer quite a few I had about him. Haze never was one to fill everyone in on what he'd planned before it was executed into action." The president led himself back to his chair and sat down there. "Never the less, it was a miracle that you came here and saved us Violet. Please continue the mission that your father had for us and then for the future, and should you ever find him… slap him across the back of the head for me for making us worry."

I smiled as I felt a tear slide down my check. "I will, Mr. Silph."

He smiled at me and I felt my body finally begin to relax. I felt the effects of everything that happened today start to take hold of me and my body began to release any energy left in my system. I felt my eyes drooping and I vaguely heard the president call out of me, but I was too far gone into the dark work of unconsciousness to hear him.
