"You're mad if you think things will stay the same, lad," the carpenter exclaimed with a raised brow. "The Harvest God will have his duties to his people back. He won't be able to leave the Pond."

Tom stiffened. "I'm confident that I don't mean so little to him that I blend in with the rest of the non-believers," he said. "You told me before that he is a God, and will continue to be so despite my feelings. So I'll continue to be a persistent, stubborn human, who doesn't know when to back off."

The carpenter chuckled despite himself.
