Pokѐmon Journey I: Violet's Trial

Chapter 23: Defeating the Boss

Violet's Point of View:

I spent a few days resting and calming down after my breakdown on the mountain. Alex and Vince spent many hours of the past few days with me, keeping any eye on me to make sure I was okay. After my emotional breakdown things had been hard for me to get over and when we first gone home, I snapped at the stupidest of things at any second. But Alex was right, I needed a small break to just relax, and it really helped me after I freaked out on the mountain.

All of Team Rocket was captured, other than Rose. It was over two-hundred members that got locked up; most of them had been taken down by my duo, of whom I'd left back in the town on One Isle, of Chalcedony and Ruby. With their destructive power, they totally took out the entire Team Rocket set up there and freed everyone. When I was more emotionally stable, I congratulated all of my pokemon, especially the two of them.

Now that I was well rested and relaxed, the boys thought I was time to take me home so we could stop by Mom's and eat lunch with her, Professor Oak, and Daisy before we headed off to Viridian for our final gym battle and we were going to duke it out who would battle the gym leader, Giovanni Agustino, first. For some reason every time I thought of his name, it reminded me of the Giovanni, head of Team Rocket. It made me worried, what if he was the head of Team Rocket? Unless I saw a picture of him, I'd never know.

After a boat ride to Cinnabar and then back to Pallet, the boys led me back to our house back in the center of town. My mother and the others were already there and waiting with lunch prepared and Luke even joining us, somehow finishing his work early on the islands and headed back to Pallet before he would resume his duties and report to his boss in Viridian.

"Welcome home, sweetie!" My mother and the others greeted us once we got to the house. All of them were waiting outside, even Lovey, Black Spinal, Tanzanite, Kyanite, the kid zapdos and the kid moltres. They all had set up a barbeque out back so there was lots of room for everyone. While everyone was relaxing, I saw Amethyst and Ruby in a stare off contest, they wanted to battle, I could easily tell that, but then again, they knew I was in a recently fragile state and didn't want to fight before me.

I chuckled and snorted a laugh and most everyone looked over at me in shock. I gave them a grin and shrugged my shoulders. "What?"

"It's just a surprise to see you acting more like your normal self so soon. Not that it's a bad thing!" my brother said quickly, "Just faster than we expected."

"I know, Vincy," I stretched and looked over at my pokemon who had momentarily stopped their stare off to glance back at me in wonder, "Go on you two, I know you wanna, just don't kill each other."

My two pokemon grinned, and turned back to each other before they leapt away from the other and then dashed forward with their wings to crash into one other. Claws and scythes collided before teeth met feet and so on. I knew those two were after the title of the strongest and had a strong rivalry between them for a long while. I didn't notice too much however until after the events with Chalcedony and Alex back in Cerulean before we added Sapphire to the team. But after that it was almost too easy to notice.

Daisy sat herself next to me at the table and handed me a plate of food, a burger and some macaroni salad. I licked my lips when I saw it get placed before me and I saw Daisy smile out of the corner of my vision as she watched me. "Thanks for grabbing me a plate."

"No problem, you better store up your strength for when you challenge the gym leader, your planning on doing that later, right?"

"Yeah, after lunch. It's a race to the next town for the three of us," I explained, "All of us want first crack at the gym leader since whoever does get to him first, we then get to the Victory Road first and then the Indigo Plateau. It also doesn't help that the gym leader only accepts one challenger per day, which makes it really hard since he's gone for so long during the year, so only a handful of us can get our eighth badge."

"That sucks." Luke murmured as he took a seat on the other side of Daisy, "Must be why hardly anyone ever challenges the Elite Four."

"Probably," I shrugged, "By the way, do you happen to have a picture of the Viridian gym leader? I've always seen a picture or gotten some info beforehand about the gym leader before I battle them."

"Uh… yeah, I can get one, give me a sec." Luke pulled out a laptop from his bag that he had with him and raced at the keyboard with a password to get in that was a million characters long before he finally hit the enter button and let him in.

"Don't forget to eat up, Violet. You'll need your strength." My mother mentioned.

"Can I have seconds then?" I held my plate over my head and my mother and many of the others gapped at me, all but Alex and his grandfather who chuckled. "What? I was hungry! I didn't eat breakfast!"

"Violet Vilmos! You know better than to skip a meal!" My mother chided me with a flick of her fork, "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day

"I seriously wasn't! And I know that!" I was thankful that most of all my pokemon had already eaten while the guys were taking their time. It was a race to get there first for the gym battle, and I knew I wanted to get there first. It would at least give me a whole twenty-four hours of training, and time to look for Dad.

While the two of my three largest pokemon were duking it out playfully, Sapphire was resting out in the sun. The ice crystals that floated around her body were slowly melting and evaporating into the air and looked almost crystal like as the sunrays hit them. Amber was curled next to Chalcedony, and Zircon, who almost always slept, near Sapphire to catch the light coolness she was giving off as the wind caught the cool air from her body and sent it in their direction with the hot sun on this cool day. It was quiet temperate.

Alex had released his four pokemon and Vince had done the same for his six. All ten of them joined in wherever they liked and either relaxed or trained with others. We had pokemon of nearly all types have a blast and enjoying the afternoon.

"Oh, hey,Violet. I found some info on the gym leader, too," Luke informed me without looking up from his laptop, "Okay, so he's ground type user and has a lot of massively large pokemon on his team. He also has a small family of himself, his wife and son."

"That wife and son wouldn't happen to be named Rose and Tristan, would they? Both with red hair?" Oh I hope I'm wrong… my mother's gonna kill me for ruining a good afternoon lunch…

"Yeah… how'd you know?" Luke looked up at me worriedly, as did everyone else.

"Sis, you don't mean…" Vince trailed off as he looked over at me and then Alex, who had the same surprised look in his eyes.

I hurried up from my spot at the table and looked at the family photo that Luke had up on his laptop. I could hear the boys gasp behind me and many of our pokemon as well. We recognized those cold dark eyes of Giovanni, and the bright ice ones of Rose and her vibrant red colored locks. It seemed the son had both traits from his parents as he had long strait red hair that came down to his shoulders and dark onyx eyes that looked confused and lost.

My first impression of him told my instincts that I had to help that kid and free those pokemon.

I hurried away from the others and used the better of my two arms to grab onto Sapphire. While the pokemon I mostly liked to travel on was Amethyst, Sapphire was the fastest and could travel at nearly double the time Amethyst could. My smaller pokemon gathered up on top of Sapphire's body, and she took off into the air with my other two flying pokemon coming after us.

"Violet!" I heard my mother call, but there was no time to stop.

"Hold up, Sis! We're coming with you!" In the next second, I saw my brother and Alex climb aboard their legendary flying pokemon and hurrying towards the same direction as me- Viridian city.

Upon arriving at Viridian, we saw many police staff and pokemon all on standby waiting outside the large gym. Officer Jenny, the same head police woman I'd seen before all the way back in Lavender Town, was waiting for us. She waved once she saw us all approaching. I had Sapphire land before her and I quickly got off and returned her to her pokeball, which I also did with Ruby and Amethyst for the time being, as we stood before the gym.

"The professor and your mother gave us a call while you were on your way here, Miss Vilmos," Officer Jenny informed me as the guys landed as well, "We've had our suspicions for quite a while on this gym and its leader. We've actually have proof that says that he has an underground lair due to at least three floors that go underground, not including the ground floor here. Our dugtrio squad has brought us back lab results that showed how deep this thing is. We already checked out the entire first level before we were met with Team Rocket resistance in the middle of the battlefield."

"What about the family? Has anyone seen Giovanni, Rose, or Tristan?" The woman sadly shook her head.

"No, but we do have a warrant to take Tristan to foster care when he's found to get him out of this family living situation. It certainly can't be good for a young boy, and who knows how much control his father and mother have over him."

"That's why we're getting him out," I turned on my heels and hurried toward the front door, "I'll save him and all the others!"

I pushed open the front doors to the house and gym, and I easily noticed that there were many police members around. They and all their pokemon were prepared to fight and the faded cries of battle could be heard from the other room. I hurried and pushed through all those that stood in my way and made it onto the battlefield where an elevator was in the middle of the field and there were a million of Team Rocket members that were standing inside it with their pokemon and fighting off the police. Once I was at the front however, everyone froze and the fighting stopped. Amber and Chalcedony grinned while Zircon cheered in my arms.

"Amber, take them out. Let's go find your mom, and Tristan, and all the others who are trapped here." Amber's eyes suddenly light up in anger and she cried out as she released many lightning bolts at once into the air. Every single pokemon and human that was within Team Rocket was fried and then was sent crashing into the ground. I snorted angrily, and hurried across the field and into the elevator, pressing the button to basement floor one.

"Wait up, Vi!" I waited a moment as my brother and Alex quickly skidded into the elevator with me before the doors closed and we headed downward.

"Damn it, Sis, couldn't you have waited?" My brother breathed heavily as he glared at me.

"If you were trapped down here for who knows how long, could you have waited?" I fired back at the idiot. He sighed and didn't say another word as he caught his breath. "Sorry… I just-"

"You don't need to say it, Vi, we already know," Alex told me, "We know you need to help others, it's just your thing. We have no right to oppose it. Now," he pulled out a laptop and set it on his arm and typed away at the keyboard with one hand, "I got this from the police; they apparently got the schematics off a grunt for this base. From what I'm looking at, there's a whole bunch of pokemon cells on floors one and two while the housing for members is also on these floors with housing for the family and personal pokemon and desired objects and a few others things are on the bottom floor. That's most likely where we'll find that Tristan kid, floor one and two is most likely where we'll find Amber's mother."

"Then let's get a move on. Be ready for anything once that door opens." The boys both nodded and watched the door as we came closer to the floor we were supposed to get off on.

While all of us were prepared, I think the one of us that was most prepared to fight was Amber. While she normally didn't prefer to always participate in most battles, she was itching to find her mother, and low and behold, should (and most likely she should) be here, Amber was going to do everything with her power and beyond to save her.

There were also all the other pokemon here, this had to be their main base of operations, a secluded place that was easily hidden due to Giovanni's double status as a crime lord and a gym leader, it was easy for him to make a lot of his funds from his battles and the crime world, and it also helped that he had Rose, the beautiful woman that could make most people putty in her hand.

And finally Tristan, their son. A poor boy that'd been dragged into this, into his parents work and who's probably suffered so much. Who knows his condition, who knows how much emotional and physical damage has been done. From how I've seen Rose, she certainly can't be very motherly, and Giovanni? Don't even get me started on him.

I suddenly heard the ding from the elevator and the doors began to open. I saw a million members of Team Rocket standing outside of the elevator that looked ready to jump on, but stopped when they saw us. I grinned at the lot of them.

"Who's first?"

HalloweenWitchHalloweenWitch

With all the Rocket members piled up before us, I grinned as they all were paralyzed by my raichu and she growled at any of them that tried to move. Most of their pokemon had run off while we attacked, so we released them and let them head to the surface where the police were on standby.

"They seem so weak now in comparison to the beginning of our journey." I giggled with my arms crossed as I grinned at the pile of 'em.

"That's just because you've been training your monster like pokemon forever," Vince snorted, "You wouldn't be saying that if you hadn't trained like you did or got the pokemon you have."

"You're probably right," I shrugged and looked over at Alex as he typed away at the keyboard, "Any luck on which way we have to go?"

"Yeah, the first sets of cages are near the stairs to the next floor. Should we have Vince run the pokemon up again?"

"I don't mind doing it; I always manage to run into some kind of trouble to make up for the little action I see," My brother shrugged and looked over at me for a reply, "Your call, Sis, I know you want certain things done."

"I think that'll work fine," I nodded to him and relaxed my arms, "Amber may go with you when she finds her mom, so she'll be able to give you a hand."

"No problem, that doesn't bother me. A monster pokemon on my side sounds pretty cool right now." My brother grinned and took off down the hallway.

"Wait up, Vince!" Alex and I took off after him with Amber at my heels. She easily blasted past me and caught up to Vince and went past him to check out the first set of cages up ahead. I saw her whipping her head around to every corner, looking for any sign of her mother. When she didn't see her, Amber lashed out at the cage by breaking its bars. The pokemon on this level that were locked away easily came to their senses and once they saw me, with the strength they still had left in their bodies, they bolted out of their cages and back down the hallway.

"Go with them, Vince! We'll keep letting them out!" I called to him over the rumble.

"But what if one can't move? Let me stay and carry one or two should they be in that condition." My brother shouted back. I sighed but let it slide; Vince could help them back after we've let out a few more pokemon.

While we ran, I let my eyes wander the rooms as I searched for the same little yellow mouse pokemon that my raichu was looking for. The hallways seemed to go on forever before they would turn. Tension and disparity filled the air and I even felt the walls caving in. Cages lined every wall with cold dark silver colored bars and steel doors that were harder than hell to move let alone break. The space was small for the many that were stuffed into a single cage. Feces were piled up high in their cages along with pee covering the entire floor. The place reeked and made it hard to breathe and it seemed to get worse as we ran further down the hallway.

Sadly we made it to the end of the cages on the first floor and we suddenly came face to face with the stairs and one last room here, it was apparently the power room. I turned the knob on it only to feel a pain wash over my entire body before I was thrown back. I felt the everlasting sting of a paralysis as I looked up from where I crashed into.

"Stupid door…" I hissed.

"Allow me," Vince pulled out a pokeball and out suddenly came his onix. It roared out before it glared at the door and Vince threw his arm before him, his first finger pointed at the door. "Knock it down, onix!"

The rock pokemon compiled with the command and rammed itself into the door, not feeling the pain of the electricity as I had. Made me wish I had a pokemon that wasn't affected by electricity at times.

"You okay, Vi?" Alex held the laptop in one arm while he used the other to help me to my feet. I shook off the paralysis and nodded to him.

"Nothing a little walking won't cure," I rolled my joints and felt my back crack, sighing at the relief, "Now what's in here?"

"Haven't been able to get inside yet, Vince's onix was able to knock the door down, but got its head stuck there too." I raised my eyebrow and looked over at the poor creature that was stuck in the wall. I groaned at our luck.

"Return Onix, Vince!" I snapped at my dumbstruck brother.

"Oh yeah! Onix, return! Thanks for the help bud!" My brother laughed nervously at the same time as he rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry Sis." I growled but kept my anger inside as I passed by him and hurried into the other room to see what was actually inside.

Once I enter, I wished I hadn't.

Inside the room were massive generators that were attached to large cages that were colored for apparent levels of power that the pokemon could put out into the facility. I saw multiple pokemon that were forced to give up their electrical power without rest. The cages were either red or green, green being a smaller amount of electricity and red being the larger amount and thicker should the pokemon have extra power to break out. Most of their pokemon's skin and fur were gone (should they have had those kinds of features) and some stations were shut down due to the pokemon no longer having any more electricity or… death.

Amber raced up past me before the cages and looked into all of them before one of the green ones caught her eye. "Rai!" She cried out and I watched the cage light up from where it was previously dark and off and a head gently looked up to see Amber behind the bars. It was a pikachu from the looks of it. Quite small, even for its breed and most of its fur was singed off its body from the electricity stolen from its body and then swirled around it to burn and cause pain. A sudden light grew in its eyes and it turned around to face Amber, sticking a paw out of the bars to reach her. Amber stuck up her own paw and the two met, I saw Amber cry hysterically over the pikachu and I rushed over to her.

"Amber! Is this her?" My electric pokemon turned to me and nodded before her eyes went wide at the sight of me. "Amber? Amber, what's wron-hey!" I suddenly felt something grab me from behind and pinned me to the wall. When I came face to face with a Team Rocket member, to say that my blood boiled in rage would be an underestimate. I ignored the painful ache from my back when I'd hit the wall behind me and sent my foot strait up since my arms were otherwise unusable under his grip and the man groaned and cried out when my foot hit his 'manhood'. He dropped to the ground and released me on impact and I threw my fist at his face and kicked his side before I leapt over him and hurried back to the cage Amber was before and trying to break open, but was having little luck.

"Stand back, Amber, Amethyst, and Ruby can get her and the others out," My electric pokemon worriedly looked at me before she dared to release her mother's paw and step back as I let my other pokemon out to assist her, "Let's go girls! I need you to break open all these cages!" Out came two of my three massive pokemon and they growled at the cages before the two of them lunged. The cage only lasted a second before it fell before my two powerhouse pokemon. An alarm went off as soon as the cages were broken into and red lights began to flash.

"Stupid alarms!" I hissed. My fire pokemon agreed with a growl like roar and swung her tail at it. The light shattered, and the speaker went with it when the lit tail struck. It was then a quiet echo from off in the distance could be heard from the other alarms.

Ruby pushed aside the metal bars and made room for me to slip inside and pull the small yellow body out. I was gentle as I carried Amber's mother out. She looked so weak… it was terrifying to look at her with such battle wounds upon her entire body. Her fur (or what was left of it) had faded from a bright yellow to that of a pale and her eyes were clouded over in pain. Marks were all over her body from abuse and from the machines taking their tax on her. Her breathing was heavy as she tried to take in the fact that she wasn't any longer in that machine.

"Vince!" My brother came running at my shouting. "Here," I set Amber's mother into his arms and he cradled her against his chest. "Go and get her out." I glanced over my shoulder to look at my raichu. "Follow them Amber, stay with your mother. We'll deal with Giovanni and Rose and meet up with you soon." I saw the tears flow down the electric sacs that were within the checks of my electric mouse pokemon, but she nodded none the less and took off after Vince as he followed the other pokemon toward the elevator.

With them gone and all the other electric pokemon that were captured here, I turned my attention to the stairs outside of this room, the next area we had to deal with.

"Let's go Alex; we still have more pokemon and Tristan to save." He nodded and folded up the laptop for the time being as he followed after me. I returned my larger pokemon to their pokeballs and hurried down the stairs with our goals set in mind and an end of this path.

Tristan's Point of View:

"What should we do now that she's inside sir?" A grunt had just come and reported to my father the happenings of everything from upstairs with the vigilante girl, Violet, leading the way to free all the pokemon that my father and mother held here against their will, much like they did with myself.

My mother's grip on me was to the point of circulation loss as she was sure she wouldn't lose her prime candidate for the next generation of her and my father's organization. They've spent years training me on how to be a ruthless battler, how to be heartless, they trained me with bruises, blood and pain. My mother's fingers in my arm would add to their collection.

My mother and father led me down the hallway to my room that they've kept me trapped in for many years. I've only been brought out for training and eating, or for something of their pleasure. Otherwise I was kept locked inside the room and away from the world. Only a few times in my life have I ever gone outside with my mother and father watching me like a fearow with the help of their highest officers to make sure I wouldn't try and escape, nor be taken by anyone who wanted to use me as leverage.

"We've evacuating the third floor, secure my son in his room for the time being until we can get the escape hatch open and get him out with minimal problems," My father explained, "Keep Violet busy and preoccupied on the first two floors; do not let her anywhere near my son. The future of Team Rocket resides on whether or not she finds him, and I don't want her anywhere near him to fill his head with lies."

Like you and mother do? I kept silent as he continued to talk with the Rocket Admin, but my thoughts were wild of escape, praying for Violet to find me and remove me from this emotionless place. I only wanted her to take me, not the police, not any other person, only Violet Vilmos. I wanted my freedom, to feel something! I was tired of being afraid and alone, and I knew Violet would change that. She changes everyone she's up against or meets, including my mother, who's become even more of a psychotic case ever since the two met. Both my parents feared her and her ruining of their organization.

I wish she would have done this years ago.

My door was opened and I was led inside to the dull gray room of mine that contained only a bed, desk, dresser, nightstand and lamp. Off to the side was a bathroom to keep clean, but other than that, my room was bare, with the exception of my drawings I've done on paper towels I've had in my bathroom. They contained my dreams of freedom all over them.

My mother pushed me onto the bed and made sure I was in pain before she sneered at me. "Don't you dare even think about leaving; stay here until we deal with Violet."

"Yes, Mother." I shook as I gave her my fearful reply. She snorted before she slapped me and turned in the other direction with a huff. I stayed down and watched as my father's glare held me in my spot. My eyes trailed to my mother when I saw her release her gengar and the ghost pokemon floated over to me.

"Here are your orders Gengar, should Violet or any of her friends or pokemon come here, you know what to do to them. And as for my son… while I still want him alive for our future organization, make sure his mind stays clear of any… unnecessary thoughts. Understand?" The ghost creature nodded to her and my mother quickly left with my father, as if they couldn't stand the presence of me.

Gengar then turned to me with his teeth nearly glowing in its grin and his evil gaze settled upon me. I curled into my bed, hoping he would leave me alone, while I suddenly felt pain rocket through my body and I couldn't help but try to scream, but nothing came out as I squirmed and rolled and felt my joints shattering and my bones turning to jelly.

Violet's Point of View:

After running down a few sets of stairs we finally made it down to the second underground floor where more pokemon were apparently captured and held. It sickened me to see the state they were all in. There thankfully wasn't a second generator floor on this level, but Vince hadn't caught up to us yet and who knows how much time I had left to find Tristan?

"Alex!" My best friend turned to look at me, "Can you free the pokemon up here? I'm going to go on ahead and try to find Tristan before they can move him. There's only pokemon on this floor, so he has to be on the next one or he's already long gone, and we're cutting it close as it is."

"Go, Vi, I'll take care of things up here," Alex released his blastoise and it flexed its muscles as it prepared to fight. "Go find him and kick both Rose and Giovanni's ass."

"Oh don't worry about that," I cracked my knuckles and my neck with a growl, "I plan too." Chalcedony followed after me with Zircon entwined loosely around his body. Past all the cages and down another flight of enclosing walls around the stairs, I was on the last floor.

My immediate surprise was that only five rooms were on this floor, one of them being guarded by Rocket Admins that seemed to be dressed for leaving down in thick trench coats and concealing hats that covered their faces. They turned their heads when they heard the sound of my boots scuffing the ground. Both of them rushed toward me with their pokeballs in hand to throw, when a light materialized from my waist and threw them both back. Ruby appeared and flexed her arms and rotated her scythes as she watched the two men quickly stand and throw out Ruby's latest victims.

A pair of beedril came out of their pokeballs and buzzed an angry, swarm calling note from their wings. Their stingers were sharpened and prepared to attack. Ruby grinned at the challenge by her own local type of pokemon and leapt forward, ready to take a chunk out of them. The two beedril stuck out their back ends at my speedy bug pokemon and shot its large needle at her. Ruby easily dodged, or threw the attack, with the sharp side of her scythe like arms that actually cut through the stingers. Both beedril looked at my eagerly awaiting pokemon like a monster that just jumped out of nowhere. Ruby sped at them with great speed; bringing about her fury cutter and ending the fight rather quickly between her and her two opponents.

"Shit!" One of the admins shouted.

"We're not done yet boys; Ruby, would you help make them a bit more… comfortable?" My bug pokemon was behind them in the next second with her scythes around their necks. They both screamed and froze under her arms as to not lose their heads. "Good boys, now I want to know where Tristan is, where is he?"

"We're not telling you, you bitch!" The other of the admins shouted.

"Chalcedony…" without even needing to finish, my pokemon knew what it wanted him to do. Chalcedony created a shadow ball and hit both of them head on and again between their legs. Chalcedony growled at them and bared his teeth and the two admins freaked and backed away into Ruby's body. She hissed at them and they jumped, careful not to move again. "I'm going to ask you one more time before I resort to more violence, boys. Now, where is Tristan?"

It was then that I heard a sudden scream from behind the door the two men had guarded. I had Ruby drop them and she knocked in the door before I hurried inside. As soon as I entered, I felt that painful feeling that entered the entire body at once and it felt like the world was crushing down on your, literally. I knew it was curse.

I snarled and pushed past the pain to see where the ghost pokemon was that dared to try this move on me. Low and behold, it was gengar, Rose's gengar that was once again trying to subdue me. It grinned as it saw my body shaking in pain, but soon became fearful as I rose back to my feet from the knee I'd fallen to. It floated backward when it saw me starting to move toward it. It suddenly threw its arms out before it and the pain became stronger on myself.

"Here's where you're not strong enough Gengar. You and Rose." I spat out blood that had slipped up from my heart under all this stress and pain. "My will and love is stronger than your hate." The gengar's eyes went wide and I pushed through all the waves of pain it sent to my body until I was able to throw a fist at him. While ghost types were normally intangible, he was tangible this moment from all his focus being on me and hurting me with curse. My fist connected with its face and soon it was against the back wall. With its concentration broke, I stood with a sudden burst of energy and jumped out of the way so Ruby could burst in along with Chalcedony and Zircon.

"Ruby, silver wind! Chalcedony, shadow ball! Zircon, dragon rage!" All three of them combined their attacks and the three attacks combined to make a large glittery purple, red and black ball. It hit Gengar head on blew up the wall as well. When the smoke cleared from the dust that flew into the air, he was gone.

"Shit! The bastard got away!" I growled and stomped over to the wreckage.

"Scyther scy!" Ruby pointed over in the corner and I turned my attention from that annoying gengar to a boy that was huddled up in the corner on a bed. He was covered in a cold sweat that had his clothes stuck to his body and his hair matted to his face. His clothes looked somewhat new, but it didn't provide him much warmth and protection from the cold here in this underground lair. Only a short sleeved shirt covered his chest and a set of jeans for the lower half. There were no socks or heavier clothes, just these working clothes.

I quickly gathered up the blood, which was leaving a bad taste in my mouth and spat it out at the base of the bed where the kid couldn't see before I approached him. Long red hair covered his head, bright like his mother's, but his eyes dark like his father's. They didn't seem to carry that same angry look behind them however and I saw a longing look behind his fearful and clouded eyes.

"Hey Hon, you okay?" The boy then looked up at me as if I'd suddenly materialized in the room. He nodded to me quickly while he breathed heavily and looked around the room.

"Wh-where's Gengar?"

"He's gone now, he can't hurt you anymore," I gently touched the boy's cheek and he looked back at me, "I'm Violet, what's your name?"

"Tristan," he muttered before he curled into the warmth I was giving off. He felt so cold to the touch, his skin reminded me of Sapphire's icy feathers when I ran my hands over them. It's normal for Sapphire, an ice type pokemon, but not for a human child.

"Here, this should help you keep warm." I pulled off Alex's jacket and had the poor boy put it on. He almost instantly sighed when he felt the warmth surround him. I sighed at that and easily picked him up in my arms. He gasped at my strength and I only grinned at him. "My pokemon aren't the only ones who get training in, now let's get you out of here," He nodded and sobbed as I held him and he buried his face into my shoulder and wrapped his arms around my neck, "Don't worry Tristan, there's plenty of warmth to go around, and I'll definitely get you out of here."

I hurried outside of the door with my pokemon all protectively around me to keep any Team Rocket members from getting to Tristan. I started to head back up to the second floor to make my way to the elevator, but I soon saw Alex and Vince rushing down the stairs toward me.

"Wrong way, Vi!" my brother called out.

"What are you talking about? The elevator's that way." The two of them halted in their tracks when they reached me.

"They blew up the elevator and blocked off the entire path, most of the first floor is in pieces too," Alex breathed heavily as he explained the situation, "Our only option out is through the secret passages that Giovanni probably has inside his office, room or whatever down here." Alex then took notice to the young boy that was situated in my arms and nearly trying to hide in my neck.

"Hey, is that kid Tristan, the one you wanted to help outta here?" My brother was the one to voice the question and Tristan placed his face in the side of my neck, hiding himself.

"Yeah, I found him with Rose's gengar." I didn't think I had to go into detail to explain it to them of what happened. Alex caught on pretty quick and Vince soon did after him.

"Ouch, sorry to hear about what happened. You okay, kid?" My brother walked over to him and gently placed his hand on Tristan's red locks. I felt the boy flinch, but he didn't move or say a word. My brother leaned his face around to look at mine. "Did I scare him, Sis?"

"He's emotionally and physically scared beyond anything I've ever seen before, with a human child that is. It'll take time for him to heal, the fact that he's at least staying with us is a blessing to Mew," I sighed and looked down at Tristan's hidden face, scrunched up in fear, "Don't worry about them, Tristan. That's my brother and my best friend, Alex, they won't hurt you."

I could feel the boy's light sobbing beneath me and the tears he shed dripped onto the side of my shoulder. I hushed at him gently. "Its okay Tristan, we'll get you out of here, you just hang on a little longer, okay?" I just barely felt him move below me, hearing a soft 'okay' from him and feeling him nod once. I shifted him in my arms so I had a better grip on him before we began to move forward toward the next set of rooms. Out of the two on the other side of the hallway before the large doors came the last few admins they probably had on hand at the moment, if they weren't already defeated.

The boys jumped out before me and sent out pokemon of their own, Alex sent out Alakazam, and Vince sent out Machamp, his apparently recently evolved machoke. Their pokemon charged and I was surprised to see both of them use mega punch on the enemy. Whatever pokemon the admins had sent out was thrown back into them and they crashed off to the sides. With the way now cleared, the boys led the way with their pokemon out first and mine protecting me and Tristan.

Alakazam and Machamp busted down the door which led us to a final and pretty decorative room, it was like a battlefield, but it looked much more high-tech then I bet it looked. I could hear the buzzing of the machines from all directions; the walls were probably made out of them. Though it still looked like a battlefield. The markings were made on the ground to outline where the pokemon would fight and there was a referee box (should there be a referee at all) for them to stand on top of.

We were alone on this field however, across from us on the other side were a pissed Rose and a furious Giovanni. Both held their arms over the chest, crossed like, and a glare that was situated at us-mostly me-and at the boy that was in my arms.

"You'd best give our son back to us; Violet, or else we may have to take a few drastic measures." Rose hissed as her hands moved from her chest to her hips, waiting on my answer.

"And why would I do that? I've never been the most obedient one as you know Rosie." My grin that sat upon my face did not please Rose in the slightest and she nearly roared her anger. She made a move to cross the field but Giovanni stopped her. His grip was hard on her arm but his gaze stayed connected with my own.

"You have been a thorn in our side for far too long, Violet Vilmos," Giovanni's words were piercing, even if they were barely audible on my side of the room, "Aren't you done with these games?"

"I'll be done as soon as I take you and Rose down and lock you away for good." I huffed and turned quickly to hand over Tristan to Alex. "Keep him safe and warm while I take care of them, okay?" Alex nodded and held the kid close to him with Alakazam meditating right next to him, watching for any danger heading their way.

I walked up to the battlefield and held out one of my pokeballs. "Face me for the final time. Giovanni, let's end this."

"Its past time we've ended this, my dear, but I'll be eager to fulfill that request!" He ripped his own pokeball out of his pocket and threw it out onto the field; Nidoking graced me as his first pokemon. "I've sent these pokemon through hell and back to be able to beat you, now let's make use of that training!" Without warning, the pokemon raced at me.

I growled and threw out my snow covered Pokeball, and out came Sapphire. She screeched as she took the field and it suddenly got colder with her presence. Her strawberry eyes caught onto the nidoking that was heading right toward us and blew an icy wind in its face, to test its strength. The pokemon in response fought against the wind with a grin on its face. It must have gone through some training to face even Sapphire's weakest attack and not feint.

"Maybe this will be a bit more of an entertaining battle," I grinned and looked at my pokemon, "Alright Sapphire, hit with an ice beam and see what happens!" A light blue staggering beam of light raced from the back of Sapphire's beak to the nidoking. I heard it hiss as the power got stronger and some of his limbs turned frozen. It freaked out when it movement was gone and that's when Sapphire took up the power and froze it entirely. Its eyes were closed in pain as the ice got to it. It had no ability to move and being frozen would zap all the energy out of it.

I blinked when I saw a crack in the ice soon after the pokemon blasted itself right out into the open where Sapphire and I watched it disappointed like. And here I thought Giovanni was actually serious for once. His pokemon haven't improved at all, either that or I've improved so much out of his league that it feels like that. Yeah… I think I'll go with the latter of the two. While the nidoking was released, it didn't mean that it was in tip top shape like I had been. It breathed heavily as it glared as us; it wouldn't survive one more hit.

"Finish it, Sapphire." My pokemon nodded and threw another icy wind at it. The pokemon tried to hold on, but it simply couldn't and was thrown back to Giovanni's side of the field. It crashed into the wall and was once again frozen in a solid block of ice, and this time, there were no cracks in it.

Giovanni hissed and me and returned his first pokemon. "Damn you, Violet…" he threw out the next pokemon, this time being his nidoqueen, and it glared at us, just like its mate had. I kept Sapphire out and she flapped her wings angrily at the ground type across the field.

"Don't worry about it, Sapphire. It can't reach you."

"Oh contraire, Violet, you will have a problem with this one of my pokemon," Giovanni threw his arm out before him, "Ice beam!" I blinked in surprise at the attack and the same blue beam hurtled at Sapphire, thankfully it wasn't very effective since it was the same type as Sapphire and even through it did hit her square in the chest, she didn't mind it at all actually.

"Wow, and here you actually had me worried for a second," I sighed. "Oh well, I guess we'll just have to look harder to find a stronger opponent," I grinned at him, "but I still do have to beat you and shut you down for good."

"And you think you can?" Giovanni questioned me harshly.

"I have for the past two times I battled you, and all times I've faced Rose, too…. I guess that means that's it for the powerful couple."

"Why you little-" Rose seethed at me and came racing across the battlefield. Her fist flying forward as it was aimed at me and a sudden white flash surrounded me and her fist hit something quite resilient. Amethyst growled at the woman who dared to attack me with her arms wrapped thoroughly around my body and her wings covering me as well.

At last second though, when she was pushed back, she planted her feet and ran around Amethyst to the guys behind us. My eyes widened as I watched her reach for Tristan. The small boy clung to Alex in fear and Alex moved his body so that Tristan was behind him and Vince had a hold him as Rose came at them. Amethyst's hand shot back, fast as lightning, hitting its mark by grabbing Rose's ankle, but not before she got a grip on Alex's foot. Her vice like grip was hard to break, even with so much weight on either side of her, trying to pull her away. She could lose an arm because of this. I tried not to hope.

Alex finally raised his other leg and his heel came crashing down on Rose's hand. She screeched in pain and her grip loosed just enough for Amethyst to pull the woman away and off of him and thrown her to the other side of the field where Giovanni was.

Wait! My mind screamed, and I gasped. Where was Giovanni? I suddenly heard a battle cry to the side, and I saw Giovanni's arm swinging down over me with a knife in his hand. I felt the world turn slow as I watched it get closer and closer to the spot he marked, my chest, a death blow.

I wouldn't survive the hit…

"BLASTOISE!" I heard Alex scream, "HYDRO CANNON!" A transparent rainbow colored blast of water flew in front of me and shot Giovanni to the other side of the field. He landed on the ground hard and rolled back to where he'd been before. I breathed shakily and looked over at Alex who had the same look on his face as I did; it was the second time in the past week I'd faced a knife head on and just barely escaped with my life.

Alex left Tristan in the arms of my brother and my best friend jumped to his feet and captured me with his own hands. I could feel the strain and relief and slightly lingering fear on him from the way he breathed into my hair. His body was still shaking in fear from the events that just took place

"I don't care what you say, Violet. I'm not letting you go." His grip tightened as he told me that and I sighed from where my face was pressed into his shoulder.

"I know, I'm not going to force you away." I turned around in his arms and he adjusted his hands so that they were wrapped around my waist. I faced the two villains on the other side of the field and watched as they got to their feet. I saw Rose's hand was black and blue and a scrape was across her check, little beads of red bodily liquid seeping out. Giovanni didn't seem to be any; he was soaked to the bone and his hair all out of place from the water that hit him. His black suit jacket was ruined from dirt and rips; he pulled the thing off and tossed it to the side. The unmistakable rage formed in his eyes and I watched him pull out more pokeballs from his pocket. He threw out another one which actually turned out to look a lot like Black Spinal. Though this one was standing on its hind legs and was a tad brighter in color, it looked almost identical if it wasn't for the rock hard abs this guy had. I pulled out my pokedex to check it out real quick.

Rhydon, the drill pokemon. Its horn, which rotates like a drill, can destroy tall buildings with one strike. It stands on its hind legs, and its brain is well developed. Protected by an armor-like hide, it's capable of living in molten lava of three-thousand and six hundred degrees Fahrenheit. There are no known rhydon nests in the region.

I then saw Rose from the corner of my eye motion something forward. Her gengar materialized next to her with some damage done to it, but it looked like for the most part that it escaped my last attack on it when I saved Tristan. She also threw out her other two pokeballs and out came her gloom and proygon.

"What the hell! That isn't fair!" My brother snapped at the villain couple across the battlefield.

"Vince, you think they give a damn about that right now? All they want is to kill us!" Alex's nostrils flared as he had to explain it to my not-so-bright brother. He then drew one of his pokeballs. "But whatever the case, I'm not staying out of this any longer!"

"I'm with ya, Al!" Vince grabbed a pokeball of his own and the two of them threw them out. From Alex's pokeball came Zapdos and from Vince's came Moltres. "Might as well all fight with legendaries!"

That's right. And now we can take them down! "Let's do it, boys! Sapphire, start us off with blizzard!" My legendary bird of ice screeched before the winds before us started to rotate at high speeds and carried the snow and ice right off of Sapphire's body that reproduced back a high rate, making the field turn into a snow storm in less than a minute. Sapphire flapped her wings quicker and in a certain direction or two, she screeched again and the winds all wrapped around the pokemon in the center of the field.

"Now use fire blast, Moltres!" my brother called out.

"And you use thunder, Zapdos!" Alex shouted over my shoulder.

The two attacks raced next to each other as they forced their way into the blizzard. Both attacks somehow mixed with each other as they got closer together and then combined to make an electric fire blast that suddenly swirled in with the blizzard and rotated around the five pokemon apposing us. I could hear their cries of pain as the vortex or ice, fire and lightning swirled around them and took them captive.

Once the move calmed down and dispersed, nothing remained for a fighting will in any of the pokemon. Rose's gloom and proygon were the first to fall, along with the nidoqueen right after. Gengar followed it with its body nearly unrecognizable from all the damage and last was the rhydon who tried to stand and still fight.

I snorted. "I think I'm the only one who put them through hell, Giovanni. Now let's wrap this up, I have to get a kid out of here, he's freezing over in the corner."

"You still have to face my last pokemon, Violet, and this time…" Giovanni looked at me with a new kind of look on the field, one that made me almost terrified of him. It looked… blood-thirsty… "One of our pokemon will die."

Even Rose looked over at him fearfully. "My love, you don't plan to use 'it' do you?"

"I have no choice if we are to have a hope of saving our organization," the man hissed his answer. He pulled out a final pokeball that actually looked dark and black in color with a chain like design. It looked as if it was just like a cage to keep the pokemon trapped. "You will not be facing the kangaskhan you've battled so many times, this time, you face its parent."

The ball was thrown into the air and out came discolored kangaskhan that was nearly a third larger than the normal size of the breed. Its skin and short fine hair (or whatever it had of it) was soaked, dried and stained with blood. Its eyes were hungry as it gazed upon my side of the field.

This just changed from a somewhat match to a nationwide emergency.

"Sapphire! Come back!" My ice bird screeched in surprise as I brought her back into her pokeball and I returned all the others now that this was the last pokemon we needed to face. The only ones I left out were Ruby and Amethyst. "Amethyst, you're battling. Ruby, look after Tristan, this is gonna be ugly." My pokemon nodded and Amethyst used the power of her wings to leap over the cluster of Alex and myself to glare down at this monster.

"You're not fighting this battle alone, Vi, I'm helping." Alex's grip tightened on my body and he took a quick glance to the pokemon he had out, he pulled out a pokeball and aimed it at Zapdos. "Zapdos, return, Alakazam, you're with Tristan, Blastoise, help Amethyst on the field."

"I'm pitchin' in too incase those two lunatics start something else." My brother stood up from his place with Tristan in his arms and handed him off to Ruby before he joined us on our side of the field and pointed a pokeball at Moltres. "Return Moltres, you were great! Now, Machamp, stay and protect Tristan and Venasaur, you help out Amethyst and Blastoise!" With the one pokemon returned and the two released, they quickly got into place and our three starters were on the field together, just like they had been before we started our journeys.

"You think those three have a chance against my kangaskhan?" The male villain cackled at us.

"Well, all your other pokemon we've had pretty big chances with, so I think we'll be fine." My answer caused the man to snort.

"This battle will be nothing like the others, Violet." Giovanni seemed to be taken over by a dark aura as he and the kangaskhan glared down at us. "Nothing like our past battles, this will be either your or my self-destruction."

I knew he was right, it was only a small joke I'd said a moment ago. I knew Giovanni was ready to end this fight once and for all; he pulled out his final and worst card for us to face. A monster he's kept locked up just for this occasion, and as scared as hell as that monster made me, I welcomed the challenge like an idiot.

"I know, now let's get this match started." I looked over at my pokemon on the field. "Rage!"

It was in that moment that I felt us connecting again on the level we had between us with this attack. Amethyst drew the anger and rage, all negative emotions-to be honest-out of my body and turn them into attack power and speed for herself.

But this time, it felt… a bit… different… I felt… rage welding up, no, no, that's not right… It's like… instead of Amethyst taking in my rage, it felt like I was feeding off of hers. I felt my veins in my body hardening, the strain on my muscles, my teeth and nails slightly getting sharper. My eyes… I could things I couldn't see before, the slightest movement, the gentlest touch; I could pick it up, even if I was focused on the battle.

"Do you see what is happening Violet? To yourself?" My eyes focused on the couple on the other side of the room, Rose looked almost petrified as she looked at me and then back at her husband. Giovanni gave no look of fear, only understanding, which was very different compared to his angered look he had only a short while ago when I was battling his other pokemon. "As much as you and I hate to admit it, we are different, and yet, we are similar all at the same time. You and I, while our goals and dreams still remained indefinitely on different ends of what is to be desired, we still have the same basis within us."

"You and my sister aren't anything alike you fucking bast-" my brother was cut off from a roar from the opposing kangaskhan. My brother instantly shut up and stayed silent as Giovanni silently looked over at him and then back to me.

"Our basis, young Violet, is that we give up all we have, even ourselves, to these creatures that hold power and can help us get what we want. You give all yourself to your… 'team' to become the best and protect the weak, I give up all of myself to these creatures to achieve and have the world at my fingertips. Whether or not you believe me is fine, but look at yourself and see if I'm lying."

Myself…? I blinked and went to reach into my bag for a mirror when I saw the extent of my fingers and how fine and pointed they were at the nail, and now thick they seemed to be then. I quickly reached into my bag and pulled out a small mirror I only used to see if things had gotten on my face and I needed to get them off.

Through the mirror I saw that my eyes had changed, they were just like Amethyst's, that exact purple gem color and even my hair had taken a darker coloring like that of my pokemon's skin, a grayish purple with a thick maroon colored underside of my hair. I rolled back my lips as I watched in the mirror and touched the tip of my tooth, they were sharp like her nearly fang like teeth were, but my skin didn't break when I pressed against it. Sure I felt the slight prick of pain, but not blood. My skin had thickened too.

"What the hell…" My brother muttered as he looked me over.

"What did you do to her?" Alex's glare and growling were aimed at the man on the other side of the room.

"Some special moves that only certain pokemon know can have side effects on their trainers to a certain degree." Giovanni explained while his eyes continued to watch me. "With the example of rage, normally it only draws on the energy of its own negative emotions to create more strength, but, should there be a case where they have a strong, and I mean and powerful and unbreakable bone, no matter what nature it be from, light or dark, it has some side effects when the move is used. At first, it only draws on both the negative emotions of the pokemon itself and it trainer, but in the instance where the bond gets even stronger, and so does both their strengths, certain… traits can be carried over. Like now, you have some of the looks and the strength of your charizard, while it still continues to draw even more of your emotions, while also sending over its own traits to you, for however long you keep up the attack."

I glanced away at him and over at my pokemon, which she still did look at me worriedly, she refused to stop the attack. Good girl, Amethyst. I nodded to her and while she still looked worried, she nodded back and continued the attack.

"And how do you seem to know so much about this?"

I almost regretted my question as soon as I asked it. I could feel the seething coming from the large beast that Giovanni commanded on the field. Its own dark aura took over its body and I could literally see the connection between the two of them like I could between Amethyst and myself. I saw Giovanni's eyes suddenly turn blood red from their deep brown and he ripped off his shirt as his muscles grew in size and his teeth and claws came out. I watched as Rose and even Tristan backed away from him in fear and I blinked in surprise when he came out onto the field as well. His arm was bent and raised next to him, showing me the power he now had on him.

"You are not the first one that's been able to do this. I am also capable of this transformation, and handling the abilities my pokemon gives to me. Creations such as ourselves were through to be devils in the ancient days of human kind, now…we're still considered monsters should someone see us, even in today's society."

"What are you saying?"

"I'm saying that we are the most powerful creatures known to mankind, falling second only to the actual pokemon we are connected too," I felt my eyes go wide as I watched him wave around his hand, "Even legendary pokemon would have a difficult time facing either of us. With this power, we'll fight to the end."

I felt Alex's grip on me tightened, almost as if he was trying to hold me back from going over there. My brother threw me a worried sideways glance and moved slightly closer to me as well.

"Are you going to face me, Violet Vilmos? Or are you going to hide behind your friends? Are you going to let them die for you as your father did two years ago?"

Needless to say, that caught my attention.

Once second I was surrounded by my friends, the next I was in the air with my gaze locked onto Giovanni. My arms were stiff and angled out before me with my claw like fingers extended all the way out. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO MY FATHER?" His eyes widened when in the next second I closed in on him and swung my arm. He tried to move out of the way, but my arm still made contact and threw him into the wall in the side of the room. I could hear the screeching of the walls breaking and bending under the speed and power of my blow.

Giovanni didn't stay in the wall long however, he shoved the walling away from him and that was in his way before he lumbered back onto the field. "I didn't expect you to have this much speed… maybe I shouldn't have provoked you so much…"

"Answer my question!" My growling almost turned into a roar as I crouched and readied myself to attack once more.

"Not this time!" With a sudden quick burst of speed he'd caught up to me and reached out to grab me with his hand. My reflexes were quicker and I leapt out of the way.

"Did you really think that would be enough to escape me?" I suddenly turned when I heard him behind me rather than before and saw his arm coming right down upon me. While I was able to avoid getting hit directly in the chest, I couldn't avoid the blow and ended up taking an entire arm into my gut. When I hit the ground I felt the air get slammed out of me and the ground quickly crowded around me as I fell further into it.

I heard the roaring cry from my charizard and looked up to her through one eye as I bore through the pain from Giovanni's hit. She was locked in combat with that monster of a kangaskhan and was thrown to the side surprisingly, landing in the wall close to myself.

"Amethyst! Don't worry about me! Take out the kangaskhan!" She looked mortified as I told her that. "It's what's giving Giovanni his power!"

"Don't worry, Amethyst! We'll give you a hand and help, Vi!" My brother leapt on the back of his Venasaur, "Frenzy plant!" Out of the ground came the same black thorn covered vines that entangled themselves around the field. They put up a wall around Amethyst and myself while Giovanni and his pokemon were entangled in the masses, though somehow not taking any damage even as they were wrapped more and more. I took that moment to breathe and stand before readying myself for the next attack.

I didn't have to wait long, Giovanni pressed his arms against the vines and almost easily pushed them out of the way and ducked under them before they constricted again. He then jumped over them and landed right before me. I swung my arm up at him, giving him a good claw shaped cut across his chin and cheek. He hissed in pain before he took another swing at me, I ducked under the path of his arm to where I was on my back with my arms folded backward and supporting me while my legs were in the air. I shot them upward and it hit him square in the chest before sending him flying back into the forest of black vines.

"Hydro cannon!" I heard Alex call and I took a moment to look at the other battle. Amethyst was fighting the deadly kangaskhan on even grounds, one of the most powerful battles we've ever had. I watched as she threw herself backward as the attack help from Alex came plowing in and rammed the thing into the wall, but it still remained strong.

"What the hell does it take to beat this thing?" Vince cried out over the battle that brewed before him, "Frenzy plant again, Venasaur!"

I felt the ground shake as the attack carried out before I felt a wisp of wind on the back of my neck and I leapt out of the way. Giovanni stood with his claws slightly longer and out before him, the arm across his chest almost like he was making a pledge. He snarled, "Don't turn your back on your opponent, Violet."

"You have the nerve to say that after you've turned you back on me after I ruined your operations so many times and this didn't happen before?

"Yes… I should have ended you long ago. No different than I did your father."

"You still haven't answered me about that! What did you do to him?"

"I removed him from the equation," the reply was given in a bored like manor, "Blowing up the base he was in made it easy to get rid of him, and I haven't seen him since."

Haven't seen him… "But that means you never searched to see if he was dead."

"I didn't search, yes, but I didn't have too. Have you heard anything from him after that explosion? Have you heard any news from him or about him from others?"

"That doesn't matter!" I felt the welling up in my chest, but it wasn't of anger or pain, remorse or agony, it was of hope, "There's still a chance since no one found his body or remains, even that explosion wouldn't have destroyed all of them, so he's either in there or alive." I threw a kick in his direction that turned into a gust of winds that threw him off balance. "I'm going to find him and I'll bring my family back together, even if it's the last thing I do!" I roared at him and suddenly from my mouth came a white fire, much like Amethyst's blast burn attack. It swallowed up Giovanni and I heard him cry out from the other side. The entire world was white as I saw another blast burn attack next to me. Amethyst had used her most powerful move as well on the monster kangaskhan she had to face. She glanced at me through the corner of her eye as I did, both smiling as we cut off our attacks. The white fire died off and Giovanni and his pokemon were nothing more than a crisp. I was actually startled however when Giovanni managed to gather the strength to shake off the soot on him and glare at me, but his eyes faded from their red color and turned dark brown once more. His prized pokemon fell to the ground and collapsed in a heap. Giovanni gasped as he looked at it before he looked back over at me. I saw his shoulders sag and his rage gently subside. He turned back to the human he was.

"I've… lost. You… are the victor… Violet Vilmos."

After those words were spoken, I let out a breath that apparently I'd been holding. Giovanni, the boss of Team Rocket, was defeated. I felt the energy drain out of me that'd I'd been given when Amethyst and I slowly reverted back to normal. I saw my features were turning back to the way they were and when I pulled out the mirror, my eyes and hair were back to normal.

"…Team Rocket is done…" I blinked as I looked at him. "From this point on, Team Rocket will be disbanded. You are stronger then I could ever be Violet Vilmos, you and your friends are more than deserving of my last three badges," He set them on the ground before him and he rose to his feet, "But that does not mean you'll catch us this day." Rose hurried over to him and supported him over her shoulders, "Good-bye, Violet Vilmos, I hope we never meet again."

The room suddenly went dark and I heard Tristan scream. Amethyst blew out fire so I could see and I ran over to him and pulled him back into my arms. I saw Vince grab the three badges Giovanni left and I saw an escape tunnel on the other side of the room, a ladder on the end of it, and no Giovanni or Rose in sight.

"Let's go!" We returned back our pokemon into their pokeballs and I had to switch Tristan onto my back as I climbed. It took a good minute, but we soon reached the top and ended up on the edge of the city that headed toward the victory road the mountains to the west. Tristan struggled against my hold on him and I set him down on the ground, but kept a gentle grip on his shoulders.

"We finally got out of there!" My brother cheered, "I'm heading back to the pokemon center and getting something to eat! I'm starved!" My brother looked at me before he hurried off, "Oh, and here's your badge, Vi. You might wanna go check on Amber and her mom and take the kid into the police."

"You sure he'll be alright there?" I took my badge from his hand and looked down at Tristan worriedly, "I've heard that foster care isn't always the nicest, especially to cases like these."

"Naw, they'll take pity on him and he'll be fine, nothing to worry about." My brother waved it off, but I felt Tristan tense under my hand. I looked down at him and watched that his face was filled with fear and one of his eyes was covered by his long hair, shielding himself away from us.

"Tristan? What's wrong?" I watched the boy look up at me in… distrust? Disappointment? Fear? The boy ripped free of my hand, allowing the jacket on his shoulder's to slip off that I had more of a grip on, and leapt past us as a speed that we didn't know the abused boy had. "TRISTAN!"

We ran after the poor misguided boy toward the mountains to the west of Viridian. Even though we were older, the boy had much more speed on him compared to us. Was he going back to his parents? It wouldn't make any sense; he wanted to get out of there!

"We lost him, Vi, there's no way we'll find him in the middle of the night like this." Alex sighed, "We'll look again in the morning as we head to the Victory Road and we'll have the police help us, but there's no way for us to find him now." He placed a hand on my shoulder and tried to lead me away from the area, but it was a good few minutes before he could get me to follow him, all the time, I was look at the path that young Tristan had run on, and feared for him.

I never wanted to give him away to some stupid orphanage… I wanted him to be a part of our family and know what a real one was like…

Tristan's Point of View:

I ran like my life depended on it. I wasn't going to let them put me into any sort of stupid place that would take away my freedom again, I just got it… As much as I appreciated Violet's help, I wasn't about to lose my newly found freedom... even if she was just like a sister to me, a real one that cared…

One I wanted all my life.

I kept running up into the dark mountain paths that led further and further to the ending of the Kanto region border. I was just south of the most western route and building in the entire region when I saw two figures up ahead. I froze instantly when I saw who they were.

It was my mother and father, Rose and Giovanni Agustino.

"I thought you'd gone with that brat that ruined everything, Tristan." I blinked as I saw my father had noticed me and turned back to look at me.

"Good boy," my mother briefly praised me with her body still supporting my father. "Now come along and help me get your father away from here, we need much time to heal and recover to start Team Rocket all over again in the future-"

"Start Team Rocket again?" I cried out as tears of fear slithered down my cheeks. "You said you disbanded it!"

"Yes, I did." My father sighed, "But your mother has convinced me that if we are strong enough again in the future, we will rise once more."

"That's stupid!" I hissed out and took a step back from them, "You were never strong enough to face Violet in the past, what makes you say that you could in the future? She'll be even stronger then!"

"Tristan Agustino! Shut your trap or else-"

"Or else what Mother? You'll sick you're gengar on me? You'll pound me into submission? I'm not sorry to say that you're in no position to do that! You're both weak!" I turned on my heels slightly and booked it around them, heading further west. "I'll never be like you! I'll be like Violet and be strong so I never have to fear you again!"

I didn't hear my parents' replies after that as I continued to run further and further away into the thick mountains. I suddenly felt something hit me from the front and I fell backward. I landed on my ass and hissed out as the tears trailed behind my hair and I looked up through my red locks to see the outline of three people in the night that were watching me with worried eyes.

The first that stood out before the others was a female with long, curly dark blue hair and bright crystal blue like eyes and brighter clothing that I couldn't tell in the night. On either side of her flanked a boy, the one on her right was a short black haired boy with a long piece of hair sticking out the front of a backwards cap. A light jacket covered the top half of him while shorts and sneakers covered the rest of him. Dark brown eyes that seemed a shade or two brighter and more cheerful then my father's looked at me in surprise. The last one seemed to be the oldest of them, a long haired red boy where his hair easily almost passed his shoulders, behind the long red locks was a set of black eyes and the rest of his clothes were heavy, almost late fall and winter clothes for the coldest weather.

"MOVE!" I hissed and leapt to my feet and pushed back all of them and continued running, ignoring their stares as they watched me rush off in the darkness.

Something was familiar about one of them… but that doesn't mean I'm going back.

Witch's Note:

Holy crap! Another chapter done and not too bad on the timing either! So we met and then say good-bye to Tristan in this chapter, but if you guys have played the HeartGold and SoulSilver games, then you know who those characters that Tristan saw were! And it gives you the knowledge that there will be a second story (even if you all knew it was a five story series!) Oh I feel so giddy about it all! And Team Rocket's gone… for now… (heh heh!) XD

And now its time, my dear readers, for Questions and Reviews! I'm so glad I got this done! Now we get onto another juicy part of Violet's hectic life, her father…

Love you all and I'll see you next week!
