Dark's POV:
That stupid girl! I told her we could never be together because she reminded me of her grandmother, yet she insists on saying that I'm hers! I stood upon a tree branch I landed on. Standing there, the hollowness within me turned to anger, untill I heard a familiar bird like screech in the distance. I sighed and began to worry... I had felt Kagome's curiosity turn to anger when I had left. I knew she wanted to talk, and I knew her inner beast was pissed off beyond reason. Demons were strange creatures... more primal in instinct it seemed...
FLASHBACK: I remembered when Shippo had been hurt because some human boy had come up to him at school and slashed him with a knife... Shippo being in human form was unable to heal quickly. Kagome and I had been flying together when suddenly she sniffed the air and her eyes began to bleed slightly red as I felt her worry and anger flow off her in waves. Next came the primal instinct to protect her young. Her chest rumbled in a growl as she increased her speed of flying and dove to the ground where her son was and where the boy who dared harm her son was. She snarled at the boy dangerousely before picking up her kit and examining his wound. Shippo reassured his mother that he was fine and she spoke to him, her voice somewhat rough and gravely in quality. I had landed a few feet away and looked at Kagome in awe as she took care of her son. She then glanced at the boy who still gripped the knife, though had gone paler than snow. Her eyes were completely red, causeing the silver/gold irises to stand out more in a slightly disturbing way. "How DARE you hurt my son, you ignorant pup! Who are your parents? Where are they?"
The boy had answered with a simple nod to the left where a couple were quickly rounding a corner at a run to see what the camotion was. At the sight of Kagome's huge wings flared in warning and her eyes completely red while her markings on her face had become sharp and edged. The man and woman looked at her in fear and slight awe. Until they saw her son and his wounds. The blonde woman with green eyes and a slightly plump appearance stepped forward and with a calm voice asked what happened. "Your PUP happened... He slashed my kit. He is lucky that he himself is just a pup."
The nameless woman's eyes widened as she looked at her son with dismay. "Again, Hoshiro?!" It became apparent that this had happened before. The boy with startlingly red eyes lowered his head as if in shame, his black hair covering his face. I knew it was a fake sorrow though, for his smirk told me so. This boy enjoyed hurting others. "Hoshiro Onigumo! You know better than this!"
At the last name, I saw Kagome stiffen suddenly, the red in her eyes leeched away slowly, her eyes wide in sudden apprehension. I caught images of A red eyed half demon slaughtering her friends and wondered at the similarities between the boy and said half demon.
The man, obviously the father looked at is son with disgust and dissapointment. "This is the last straw, boy. No more can we take of your foolishness and cruelty to others." The brunett man glared at his son, his violet eyes filled with anger. I felt Kagome's distress and glanced over, her usually slitted pupils dilated with horror. Another image came to me. A violet eyed child on a fiery horse fighting alongside the red eyed half demon. Suddenly a thought occured to me. These people weren't completely human... at least not the father and son. The woman began to walk over to Kagome, causing Kagome to stiffen and growl, the red in her eyes returning slightly as she cradled her son to her chest.
"Please... I'm a nurse, maybe I can help him."
Kagome growled louder and suddenly took off Shippo's concealment spell, causing his wounds to heal quickly and his ears to become those of a fox. Shippo fell into a deep sleep and Kagome took off in a flury of black feathers and hair. I ruffled my own wings and approched the woman. "Keep an eye on your son, miss. If he hurts my son again, I will not hesitate to throw him behind bars. I know someone who would have no problem doing so." Not waiting for a response, I flew after Kagome. I suddenly stopped in the air when I heard another pair of wings behind me and saw Krad gliding through the air, worry in his eyes.
"Is Kagome O.K?"
"She's fine physically and so now is our son."
I saw a smile of relief on Krad's face that then turned to an amused smirk.
"'Our son'?"
I suddenly realized I had been calling Shippo my son and smirked back. "Yes. I have begun to see Shippo as my own son as well."
END OF FLASHBACK
I smiled at the memory and jumped when I heard Krad's voice beside me.
"Why would you do that?"
"Why would I do what?"
"Get back together with Risa, you two timing fool!"
"I am NOT with her! Never was!"
"That's not what the fucking note said!"
Taken aback, I looked at Krad with incredulaty. He almost NEVER cursed!
"And I quote 'Oh, Dark.. When are you going to come see me again? I miss you so much! I'm so glad you agreed to get back together with me. You aren't seeing some other woman are you? I would hope not.' "
" I AGREED TO NO SUCH THING! What I had agreed to was to be friends again! I was NEVER WITH HER AND NEVER WILL BE!SHE NEEDS TO COME OUT OF HER DAMN ILLUSIONS AND REALIZE THAT I DON'T LOVE HER THAT WAY! I HAVE TRIED COUNTLESS TIMES TO GET HER TO SEE THAT! AND HAS IT WORKED?! N-"
"THAT'S BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T TRIED HARD ENOUGH, DUMBASS! KAGOME IS FUCKING HURTING! I DON'T HAVE THAT BOND WITH HER, YET EVEN I FEEL HER PAIN!"
I growled and flew away, not wanting to continue this argument anymore.
My vision blurred and my eyes burned. I growled in anger when I realized I was crying. I saw a river and landed lightly by it. As I sat down there, I heard a soft voice singing a beautiful tune. A lullaby.

I smiled softly, knowing it was Kagome. I opened my eyes, the tears upon my cheeks had left tracks on them and looked up into mix match eyes that held love and forgiveness within them.
