Pokѐmon Journey I: Violet's Trial
Chapter 26: Evil Spotted
Violet's Point of View:
Everything seemed to change after that day I'd become the pokemon champion of the Kanto region.
I was recognized now, I was the most powerful trainer in the entire region, and everyone knew my name and all the names of my pokemon too. I also still had to battle people over at the Indigo Plateau, but Lance said I didn't need to come every day unless I wanted to, since hardly anyone ever got to him in the first place. If I was away and there was a trainer coming to him, he'd give me a call and let me know to prepare my team in case he lost.
It was pretty peaceful now for the most part, I haven't been called in at all by Lance for the past couple weeks, so I relaxed at home with my family. The professor has been able to look over all our pokedex from our travels and with all our information together, he was about ecstatically to say that the pokedex was filled with every pokemon there is to know in this region. After that then though, the professor said he wanted to update them a bit and took our three pokedex from us.
While we were waiting on him, we were out in one of the pastures behind the lab house and were hanging out. Ruby and Amethyst were at it again in the yard, seeing who was the strongest and what not (which we knew was Amethyst but I wasn't about to tell Ruby that.) The others seemed to just be lounging around in the sun, enjoying moments away from the hectic life we just a little while back. Our three legendary birds were spending time with their young that they had to leave behind to travel with the three of us and things were just… calm for the most part; it almost seemed abnormal for that to happen with all that's happened to us.
"Violet! Alex! Vince!" I opened one of my eyes from where they were closed and relaxing on the grass, my head on Alex's shoulder and my brother's head on my lap and Alex's arm around me and another behind his head, and the three of us looked up to Daisy as she approached us. "Come on you guys! Grandpa has your pokedex all updated for you!" I blinked at her as the thought registered in my head and I turned my head to look at Alex. He only shrugged at me and sat up, bringing me up with him. My brother yawned and got his head off of my lap and stood up.
Our pokemon looked over at us in question and I saw Zircon be the first to move toward us. I let him come up to me as we stood up and rubbed the top of his head gently. "Don't worry, Zircon, we'll be right back, the professor has something he wants us to look at. You guys keep relaxing and enjoying yourselves, we'll be right back." He refused to listen to me and wrapped his entire body around mine and I struggled to keep up right without Alex's help, "Or you can come with us; that works too." He snuggled into my neck with his own head and all the pokemon that were on our teams or just stayed around here got to their feet and followed us back to the lab where we knew the professor would be.
While I had been here my fair share of times since I was crowned champion of the region, it still felt like I hadn't, that the last time I'd been here was when I got Amethyst for the first time and the professor almost didn't let me take her with me. My life would have never been the same if it wasn't her that came with me…
"Ah! Welcome you three, are you ready to see your new and improved pokedex?" The professor turned around in his lab chair and I saw that our pokedex had changed a bit since we'd given then to the professor. They were larger than before, I mean, not that much bigger, but big enough to tell a difference. The colors were still the same, but I saw that some wires were still hooked up into them.
The professor unplugged them and handed them to Daisy, and she then proceeded to hand them to the rest of us. "I've been spending some time updating the pokedex with new files and slots now for the many pokemon that have been seen in the world. No one honestly knows how many pokemon there are, but it's been estimated with all the legends and information I and my colleges have from all over the world that there are at least six-hundred and forty-nine."
My jaw dropped at that number. That many different types of pokemon live in this world… whoa… I almost had to take a step backwards, and it seemed like so did the boys as well. Even Daisy seemed a taken back by the news.
The professor could only nod. "I know that a lot of pokemon for you kids to see, but that means many more adventures for you to travel on. There are many places for you kids to travel, but if you wouldn't mind…?"
"What exactly do you want us to do, Professor?" I questioned him.
He stood up and motioned us over to a map he had set out among the table off to the side," This is a map of the Sevvi Islands," He showed us the different shapes of the islands and some places that were marked out in red. "In these spots where red is marked, there are pokemon that don't match up with any of the pokemon that fit on the Kanto pokedex." He pointed to the first one on the side of Mt. Ember on One Isle. "If you kids wouldn't mind, I'd like you to explore these areas and find out what these new types of pokemon are, and if you three, by chance, get lucky." He pulled Alex's pokedex from his hand and scrolled a bit on it until he showed us the number just past dragonite at one-hundred and forty-nine on the pokedex. "I'd like for you kids to find Mew and the genetically created Mewtwo if possible, they are the last two pokemon that can only be found in this region."
"I have to find Mewtwo to find my dad anyway, and I'd best get started on that again anyway, sure Professor, I don't mind going." I shrugged at him and I saw him inwardly cheer for joy.
"I'll go, too, as much as I like lounging around, it's not as fun as traveling with my team," Vince agreed.
"And I have to make sure Violet doesn't get in trouble, so I'll go, too." Alex put his arm over my shoulder and kissed my forehead, normally I would have hit him for that, but I let it slide this time with a snort.
"Great!" The professor rejoiced, "And you kids already have a pass to the islands, yes?" We all nodded, "Alright then, go get your things ready and-"
The professor was cut off by the video phone ringing. He blinked a few times and walked over and picked up. "Hello? Pallet Town Research Center, how may I help you?"
"I'm actually looking if you could somehow patch me through to Violet Vilmos please; I'm a friend of her's, Celio Markque," I heard on the phone, "I was wondering if I could ask her a favor if she has a free moment."
"I'm right here, Celio!" I jumped into the screen before the professor could say anything, "What'cha need from little ol' me?"
"Well first off, let me say awesome job on becoming our champion!" He congratulated at me first, "And then second, I need a little help on One Isle."
"What kind of help do you need? Didn't Bill help you out with that machine you were having problems with?"
"He did, but I'm still having some problems over here and I finally figured out what the problem is, but I need your help to get it done. What I'm looking for could be on any of the islands, so let's start on One Isle, and meet me here?"
"Sure, we were planning on coming out there anyway since I and the boys promised Professor Oak that we'd look for some new and strange pokemon that are in the region that have never been seen before here," I pulled out my rainbow pass for the boat to all of the islands, "We'll be over there as soon as we can. Just hang out for a few hours and we'll be right over, depending on boat and air traffic that is."
"And I'll be waiting, Violet, thanks again for this." He hung up the phone and I walked back over to the guys.
"Let's get going everyone; we're heading to One Isle!"

It hardly took much time for us to get over to One Isle; we ended up getting over there on a fast boat (since they had one at port that was waiting on us to get us there as fast as possible.) We arrived in the late afternoon to see Celio waiting for us outside of the pokemon center and out on the dock. I could see that the island was all back to normal since the last time we were here and my pokemon wreaked the place when throwing out Team Rocket.
"Hi, Celio!" I waved out to him as we approached the pokemon center he was waiting before. All my pokemon but Chalcedony had decided they were tired and wanted to stay in their pokeballs, so he wrapped his body around the back of my neck to keep both of us warm in the hood of the jacket that I'd barrowed from Alex (one which I might not give back…)
"Hey, you guys! Come on in!" Celio turned on his heels and led us back inside the large building. Once inside, he led us into the back room where his large computer was that complete and running, other than the fact that there were three empty holes in the front of it that looked like some sort of large gems went in them.
Celio led us to a table he had set up next to the machine. We sat down and the Celio grabbed some papers that looked like they matched the machine he made. He laid them out on the table and then grabbed a map of all seven islands before he came back and sat down with us.
"Okay, so here's the thing that I need help with. It's my machine again, yes, but it's not that it's not working right. The problem that I seem to be happening with it is," he pulled out one of the construction papers and pointed to one that showed the gems sockets in the machine, "these gems that fit into each of these holes in my machine, gems that I don't have."
"So… you want us to go buy you some gems that will fit there?" my brother questioned him.
"No, what I want is for you guys to search the seven islands for the gems that will fit into this machine and make it capable for us to communicate and transfer pokemon between them easier. And these gems are powerful in their own way, so it's not like you can go to a jewelry store to get them."
"So what exactly are these gems that we're looking for?" I questioned him, "Any type or kind in particular?"
"Actually, yes," Celio pulled out another paper to show us with three gems, one red, one blue and the last green, "I need a ruby, a sapphire, and an emerald for this machine to work, and these gems are rumored to be on the Sevvi Islands, but no one knows exactly where."
"So we're going on a wild goose chase for these gems?" Alex sounded skeptical of the task we've been given.
"Not exactly, I do have an idea and I can narrow it down so you don't have to go to all the islands." Celio then pulled out another paper which was the map of the Sevvi Islands, "I've been to the first three islands, One, Two, and Three Isle are pretty much all clean except for one place…" He pointed to the most northern part of One Isle. "Mt. Ember, it's the only other place where there could possibly be a gem on the first three islands. It's also one of the only areas that I haven't been able to totally explore with how busy I am here and how humid and hard it is to move in that area. Other than that, though, your next search would be Four Isle, and the only thing there that could house the gem would be Icefall Cave. After that, the last three islands you'd have to really explore to find the gem rather then look in just one place."
"That doesn't sound too bad, and that gives us a ways of looking for the new pokemon that live in these areas just like the professor wanted," I grinned at the two boys and Celio before I stood up, "So we'll head out then and see if we can find any of those gems for you, Celio."
"Yeah, let's go!" My brother cheered and jumped to his feet, hurrying out the door without us behind him as we nodded to Celio.
"Good luck, you guys." We nodded to the pokemon maniac and hurried after my brother as he took off toward the mountain in the distance.
Third Person Point of View:
Somewhere far away and deeply into the small island ruins on Seven Isle of the Sevvi Islands was a small group of so called 'tourists' looking at the ancient walls, but in actuality, they were looking for something specific in these walls that Violet and her brother, and boyfriend were looking for as well.
These 'tourists' were all dressed in black clothing with grey gloves and boots with a large red 'R' on their chests and hats on their heads, an evil organization that had recently been demolished and ruined by Violet Vilmos, her friends, and family. The sole member that thought she could bright it back to its feet, the second in command and the leader's wife, Rose, was in command of it all, trying to breathe life back into what had fallen. So far, she'd only been able to recover some of her most trustworthy members, even her husband, the ring leader and head of Team Rocket, Giovanni, had backed away from some long needed training to put him at a level where he wouldn't have to worry about Violet Vilmos anymore. So Rose was calling all the shots now, and that in itself was a dangerous thing for her and her members that would follow these rash decisions.
"Ma'am," one of the members called from inside the ruin who'd been searching for a while. Rose quietly came at his call and saw the gem stone he was pointing out to her. It was a massive emerald that almost seemed to be lightly glowing where it sat in the wall. "Is this what you're looking for?"
"That's it, get it out and then we'll start looking for the next one. Send it to the base to keep it safe… on second thought, I'll hold onto it."
The admin looked at her questioningly. "Ma'am? Is that wise to keep the gem on yourself?"
"It's better than leaving it at the base for Violet to pick up," she hissed back at the man." Violet always seems to have a knack for finding things that would assist us the most and she'll find a way into that base, and soon she'll find it as well. I have no doubt in my mind she'll be coming here soon, especially now that one of the Elite Four is coming to save the pokemon we've taken from her hometown cave."
"Yes, ma'am, I'll get you the gem right away," The admin quickly got the emerald out of the wall and handed the square shaped gem to his commander, "We'll get to work on the other gems now, ma'am, it's highly probable that the other two gems aren't on this island, but we'll do another sweep just to be extra cautious."
"Very well, go." The man was off and out of the area before the woman could say another word, but that was highly unlikely.
The woman, Rose, walked out of the ruins and watched as the sun was beginning to set down on the land, it would be easier to search at night for these gems with most people in their homes and out of the way as to not be discovered. It brought a haunting grin to her face.
"I won't fail this time, Violet Vilmos, just you try and stop me now…" she laughed out to the darkening sky that came closer and closer with every passing moment. The only light that could soon be seen was the glow from the active volcano of Mt. Ember, far off in the distance.
Violet's Point of View:
Darkness was starting to fall, and soon only the moon and the mountain would be our lighting way back. The boys were worried and though that maybe we should come back in the morning, but I thought it would be a different experience to do this at night, plus, who knows, we might only find this pokemon at night time since we didn't see it before in the day time (that and I just wasn't tired at all.)
We quickly made our way to the volcano, but the path we needed to take to explore what we hadn't already was at the east of it. The boys and I used the fiery path's heat and lava streams to light our way thought the dark, but if we needed, we had flashlights just in case. I found it thrilling to come out here and travel at night time, just to see the difference in everything, this place would not be glowing as it was now if it was day time.
The paths kept leading us downwards, we were lead down and down until we came to even hotter levels that ran right next to the molten center. I gasped at the sheer size of it, it was no wonder Moltres choose this place to keeps its kids safe and warm. Alex kept his grip on me at all times with his hand in my own and often used his other one to steer me away from the lava that wasn't hardened and cool, but then again, that was pretty much everywhere.
We finally came to a sublevel where it wasn't as bad or as warm as all the other areas; we could even feel a light breeze filter through the cave. I breathed it in happily, a cool breeze compared to the warm humidity we've been in for the past while was pretty nice.
I suddenly heard a crash, and a rock was thrown before the wall where the hole was that the breeze came through. The boys rushed to pull out their pokeballs, and I grabbed Amethyst's as well while I checked over the area.
The cause of the stir seemed to be a small pokemon that was made of lava that was also on fire with created two points on either side of its raised head. The rest of its body was a neck that flattened out as it reached the ground. It was the new pokemon on the island! I quickly pulled out my pokedex and pointed it at the pokemon.
Slugma, the lava pokemon. It's a species of pokemon that lives in volcanic areas. If its body cools, its skin hardens and immobilizes it. To avoid that, it sleeps near or within magma. Slugma are hard to come by in the Kanto region and are only found in Mt. Ember at night time when the air cools enough that they need to move.
"Cool! This must be that pokemon that the professor was talking about." I put back my pokedex while the pokemon calmly placed down its head back on the warm rocks.
"That's a pretty different pokemon…" Alex muttered. "I wonder what other types we'll see around here…"
"Dudes! That rock just moved!" We whipped our heads around at my brother's cry and saw that there was indeed a moving rock, but there was a long neck of lava that almost seemed to have lava sacs of its body hanging dangerously low on the sides of its chin. It looked like the rock was its shell while its body was seeping from under it as it moved along to the slugma we saw. I pointed up my pokedex at it and looked up what it was.
Magcargo, the lava pokemon and the evolved form of slugma. The shell on its back is made of hardened magma. It's brittle and occasionally sprouts intense flames that circulate throughout the body. Magcargo are extremely rare in the region and are only found in Mt. Ember during the night when the airs cools to the point where they need to move to prevent themselves form hardening.
"Whoa… an evolution species!" I grinned and pulled back the Pokedex, "That makes two down, only about four-hundred and ninety something to go."
"Thanks Vi, I feel so much better." Alex snorted as he pulled me close to him. "Now we'd better hurry and look for that jewel, we don't need to worry Celio."
I rolled my eyes at him. "Yes, mother…" he glared at me for it and held me tighter around my shoulders, but said nothing.
"Hey guys, what's that up ahead?"
Alex and I looked to where my brother pointed and soon we saw the figure outlines for more people down here in the tunnel. I blinked my eyes at that, why would anyone be out here at this time of night in these tunnels? It wasn't right. I turned to the boys and motioned them to hush as I slowly approached the last opening to a room at the bottom of the mountain. I peeked inside the edge of the room and I gasped at the sight. Two Team Rocket members were there and looking at the ruby that Celio wanted us to find for him. The two of them were talking quietly with each other and hadn't noticed us yet.
Chalcedony nudged the side of my head and jumped down onto the ground. He quietly hurried into the room and hid himself behind a large enough rock and nudged at me to get their attention. I smiled and gave him a thumbs up before I stepped into the room and did my best to make my presence known to the two of them. The turned around quicker than I thought possible and gasped when they saw me. I grinned.
"Hi, boys, anything in particular you're looking for?" I walked a little further into the room until I was only a few feet from them, "You see, the mall for evil villains isn't inside the mountain, but back in town, or on main land where there a set of cuffs and bars for you. So, we can do this the easy way, or the fun way. Which will it be?"
"Damn, it's Violet Vilmos, the one that messed up the boss lady's plan last time," one of them whispered to the other.
"We can't let her get the gem!" the other shouted in a whisper. He covered his mouth with a startle and looked back at me.
"You don't happen to mean…" I paused for a moment as the ruby they were after flew over their heads and landed in my arms, "this gem, do you?"
"The gem!" they cried out and turned back to see my eevee there with a smug look on his face. He shifted his tail back and forth in a taunting manor at them before he hurried back over before me and the boys.
"Now why exactly are you here? Shouldn't you all be disbanded?" My gaze turned cold on them as I placed the ruby in my bag and watched as they backed away from me. I turned my gaze to my brother for a moment. "Vince, if you please."
"No prob, Sis." He threw out one of his pokeballs and out came his starter, Venasaur, sent out an array of vines that easily grabbed the men that had tried to take the gem and were from the criminal organization I had shut down, or so I had thought.
"Let's have a little chat, boys… I need to know how your organization is back and running, and why you want these gems." Both men screamed as I took a step closer to them.
HalloweenWitchHalloweenWitch
I smirked to myself as we let the Team Rocket members go. While it probably would have been better to keep Rose in the dark, I thought it was too funny to keep getting under her skin, even if she has attempted to kill me multiple times.
The men had kindly (and when I say that, they were going to get fired at with a barrage of shadow balls if they didn't listen and do as I said) told us that Rose had gathered some of her best men and some of the most loyal grunts that had escaped from being arrested to find the same three gems were looking for that held a lot of power. With them, they could bring their organization back to life. They'd already taken pokemon from the Icefall Cave on Four Island and were using them to power their operation. I guess we had our work cut out for us again…
I looked back at the boys behind me and picked up Chalcedony in my arms, normally I'd just let my normal type walk, but for some strange reason, he seemed to be running low on energy and was too tired to walk. Even though he didn't want me to carry him, I insisted and he finally let me.
Alex thought it would be better if the three of us took a detour out of this cave to somewhere more cool where we could just fly back since it was late and the two of them were tired, as well as my poor normal type. I gave in since we had the ruby and since we found information about the two new pokemon that lived here in the mountain.
Alex led us outside onto a cliff where we stood and looked up at the bright full moon; it was at that point in the cycle already… it looked magnificent from where I was standing. I felt movement in my arms before Chalcedony broke out of them and looked up at the moon from on his own four legs. The boys and I looked at each other before we looked back at my normal type.
"Chalcedony? Is something wrong?" He swished his tail back and forth and ignored me, something I was very concerned about. Chalcedony didn't ignore me, nor did he defy me (at least, not directly I might say.) This was entirely abnormal and strange to me. "Chalcedony?"
"EE!" He suddenly sung loudly out into the air, right up to the moon. In return to his singing, I saw small bubbles of energy slowly slip down from the moon above and it circled around and entered his body.
Was Chalcedony learning some kind of attack that he could only use at night? What's going on? My thoughts were answered when I saw his entire body became enveloped in a bright white light. This doesn't make any sense! Chalcedony's evolving and there's no evolution stone around!
Witch's Note:
Uh oh… so Rose is back again eh? Man she really likes to slip away only to come back, doesn't she? So both good side and bad side have a gem, what will come next ladies and gents? I really do know, but I don't want to tell you yet, you have to read the next chapter to find out!
So I hope all of you are ready to review please! I'd love some more Reviews and Questions please! The story ends in five chapters! Yes, FIVE CHAPTERS! Can you all believe it, but if you want to be heard and have your questions answered, you better get them in now or forever are they lost! And I accept PM's too people! (Or send them to Violet incase I'm out at the moment.)
Love you all and see you next week with the next chapter!
