Pokѐmon Journey I: Violet's Trial

Chapter 31: Found at Last

Violet's Point of View:

It took Amethyst and I the entire day in the sky for us to make it all the way back to the mainland, which I there switched to Sapphire to give my fire type a rest. We flew over the country with many people pointing up at me and cheering as I flew overhead, my glittering ice type giving away who I was.

Cerulean didn't seem to have changed at all since I left for the islands. It was still a calming city that had the smell of fresh water from the mountains that ran in the rivers all around and under the city.

From what my map told me about the cave that my father just reviled to me, Cerulean Cave, was on the outskirts of the city to the northwest in the base of the mountain that also leads partly to Mt. Moon. The entrance was blocked off by a guard to keep all trainers out that weren't powerful enough, only the Elite Four, the champion (myself) or anyone with our permission could go in there. I saw the guard on duty there and he stood at attention when I landed before him.

"Champion Violet? I thought you were in the hospital, resting," he said as I stepped toward him.

"There's been an occurrence that I've been notified of and I need to get inside the cave to find it." The man didn't need to know that I was actually going to find my father, it was better if he was out of the loop.

The man raised his eye brows. "Is it Team Rocket, Ma'am?"

"I'm not sure what it is until I get in there to find out. Now, please let me pass." The man this time hesitated, but none the less let me through. I hurried into the cave, returning Sapphire into her pokeball and Chalcedony and Amber took her place, Amber at my feet and Chalcedony on my shoulders.

We walked down through the moist and dark cave for quite a while before we hit a large patch of water we had to cross over to get to the other side and deeper into the cave. Chalcedony used his psychic type move to take us across and once we were on the other side did the two of them dare to speak.

"Rai? Raichu rai rai?" Amber questioned me once we were far enough away.

"I'm sorry for freaking out on all of you guys, I just needed to get out of there and get here," I looked around at the walls to see any sort of path or marking to know which way to go to find him, "I got a letter from my father."

"BRE?"

"RAI?"

"Yeah, I know, shocking right?" I pulled out the note from my pocket and held it before me. "I know its him, he said that once Team Rocket was gone and it was safe again would he revile his location to me, and now, I know he's in this cave, but he gave me a warning, too," Both my pokemon looked up at me worriedly, "He said that Mewtwo and Mew both live with him here in the cave, so we have to be careful, they may battle us. Other than that, he's waiting for us at the back of this cave, and we need to find our way to him." I looked to both of them. "So, are you with me? I'm ready to bring my dad home."

"As am I to be reunited with Mewtwo again, Miss Vilmos." A musty green color came from my bag and floated out into the air before my face. I blinked a few times before I took the book in my hands and Stein's ghost appeared before me, his burned and destroyed body. "My apologies for keeping so quiet all this time, I did not mean to ignore you at all, I only wished to observe this world beyond the islands while we traveled and see how it has changed, all while not affecting you and your business."

"It's not a problem, professor, I have no qualms with how silent you've been, it was probably for the best, I don't know if I could have handled you talking to me the other day on the battlefield." We continued to walk regardless of our conversation and what turns it took on us.

"Yes, I didn't want to get in your way there either. You looked quite… deadly if I do say so myself, with both of your transformations."

"As much as I love this conversation however professor, do you know anything about this cave? I only looked up some short info about it while I was traveling here on Amethyst and Sapphire, other than that, I hardly know anything about it."

"Ah yes, the Cerulean Cave. It is described as one of them most powerful and deadliest places to train in our entire region, even compared to the Victory Road. The pokemon are almost double in power and have a determination that matches no other then probably your pokemon Miss Vilmos. Not only that, but it is also an unstable cave in certain parts of it from territorial wars and battles in this cave, so only the strongest and most capable were allowed to enter, which included the Elite Four, a champion and anyone given permission to by them to enter or accompanied by that person."

"What about pokemon that live here? Is there many or few?"

"There is not an extreme amount of pokemon that live here, only a few types that can handle this rough environment and those that are territorial. Though from what I've heard from trainers over at the manor, that all but stopped a short time after Mewtwo left the manor."

"Mewtwo could be keeping everyone in line, then."

"It's a possibility. But your father also mentioned that Mew was here as well. While he is a playful pokemon, that doesn't mean he can't be a pain to capture or deal with. Having both of them in here may prove a problem…"

"Bre!" My dark pokemon snapped at the ghost which caused him to stop moving along as we had.

"I did not mean to doubt you at all, good Chalcedony, I only wished to bring up that concern."

"Bre umbre bre!" Chalcedony snapped and growled from my shoulder.

"Chalcedony! Hush!" I commanded and his growls subsided into hisses, but his gaze never wavered. He finally snorted and lay back down on my shoulder, facing away from the ghost. I rubbed up on his chin, which he responded to slightly. "Oh come on Chalcedony, I'm sorry I snapped, but he was just worried was all, that's nothing to get mad at."

"Bre…" I heard him whine. "Bre bre umbre um bre bre."

"And while that is a sweet thing to say, Chalcedony, he's just worried about if this may turn into a battle or not. And I don't blame him. As you said, 'I am one of the most powerful trainers in the region and the world,' possibly, but regardless of that, we need to be a little careful as we head into this battle. Mewtwo's been on the run for a few years now; he's edgy around humans other than Stein and my father. We don't know how he'll react when he sees us, or if my father told him we were coming."

"Wobbufeet!" I blinked and looked away from my sulking dark type to a strange blue pokemon that looked strangely like an oval that thinned out at the bottom, but instead of the oval ending off, it turned into four strangely rectangular feet. It had sideways zigzags for eyes and lipstick on its lips around its mouth that was a bright pink color. Its entire body was a light blue, other than its black tail that was extremely thin in comparison and it had two white eyes with black pupils on it.

I pulled out my pokedex. Wobbuffet, the patient pokemon and the evolved form of wynaut. To keep its pitch-black tail hidden, it lives quietly in the darkness. It is never first to attack. If attacked, it inflates its body to pump up its counter attack. The difference between male and female is very noticeable; the female wears lipstick compared to the male, who does not. Wobbuffet nests are rare in this region and are only found somewhat in the Cerulean Cave.

The strange pokemon waved at us to follow it. I looked over at Stein's ghost and Amber before I turned my head over my shoulder and looked at Chalcedony. He only shrugged.

I sighed. "I guess we'll follow her then." The patient pokemon saluted us and then turned on her heels and turned and ran down the path. I hissed and took off after her. "What the hell? Why are you running for! You're the one who wanted us to follow you!"

The pokemon didn't heed my call and hurried off to a path to the side; I dove into it and noticed it was a path that was nothing more than a giant hole with another exit on the other side. I screamed as I fell for a moment before Chalcedony caught me with his psychic powers. I patted Chalcedony's head as my thanks and growled when I hurried after the running pokemon ahead of us.

"Wobbufeet!" She called out again. I pumped my legs harder until I had to skid to a stop when I saw she'd stopped. The wobbufeet saluted again before it turned and pointed down to the area before and below us. A battlefield was down there and two pokemon waited. One be a small bright pink pokemon that somewhat resembled a feline pokemon. It had emerald green eyes and floated about into the air with a grin on its face, twirling, spinning and laughing.

I couldn't say the same for the second pokemon that stood in the middle of the field. It had a glare in its eyes and a scowl on its face, its body was shaped like that of the smaller feline's but was much larger and considerably darker like that of a lavender and orchard purple. It eyes were a dark brown, almost black in color. A tube of some kind also seemed to go from the back of its head to the bottom of its lower back that was covered in its thick, darker colored skin.

I pulled out my pokedex to look over them, pointing it first at the smaller feline. Mew, the new specie pokemon. Mew is said to possess the genes of all pokemon. It is capable of making itself invisible at will, so it entirely avoids noticed even if it approaches people. It's so rare that it is said to be a mirage by many experts. Only a few people have seen it worldwide. Mew is the only one of its kind and its nest is unknown.

I then looked over to the large second pokemon, also guessing what it was. Mewtwo, the genetic pokemon. A pokemon who's genetic code was repeatedly recombined for research, it turned vicious as a result and was the cause of the destruction of the Pokѐmon Mansion. Mewtwo is the only one of its kind and its nest is unknown.

"It's Mewtwo and Mew…" I whispered, awed.

"Mewtwo!" Stein gasped. "At long last I finally found you…"

The pokemon below suddenly noticed us and turned up to look. Mewtwo's glare was first to catch me, and mine to his. Our gazes were locked as if the battle between us had already started. Mew, on the other hand, flew over to us and giggled as he played with my hair before Chalcedony took a snap at him.

"Chalcedony!" I snapped back at my dark type and he receded back, but growled if the pokemon came too close to me again. It broke my eye contact with Mewtwo for a moment before I looked back. He still looked to me as if he was itching to battle.

"Haze was right," I gasped as I heard the voice in my head. "You are his daughter; I can sense the power flowing inside of you and from all your team members with you." I looked to Mewtwo who now had a softer look to his face rather than the glare he gave me a moment ago when looking me over.

"Mewtwo, where is my father?" My gaze softened as well and I held both my hands over my heart in worry.

Mewtwo shook his head. "Do not be concerned, he is just out on an errand. He wanted to complete some task before returning home with you, it may have to do with the pokemon below, or it may have to do with humans, I honestly can tell you that I do not know."

"Mewtwo…" I gasped as Stein's diary floated out of my hands and floated down toward him on the field. The ghost reviled its form once it got before the pokemon and at this, Mewtwo glared and leapt backward.

"Mewtwo, wait! Please! It is I! Stein!" At that name the genetic pokemon froze and looked over the ghost. "Oh dear… I forgot to change into human form, didn't I?"

"Don't be mad at him Mewtwo!" I called to the pokemon. "He does that often!"

"I do not, Miss Vilmos!" The book and its ghost snapped back at me. Mewtwo was stunned as he watched the scene between the ghost trapped in the book and myself. I could only laugh.

"Yes, you do." I quieted my laughs to giggles. "Chalcedony, can you get us down there please?" My dark type nodded and used his attack to levitate us over the ledge and slowly down onto the ground before Mewtwo and Stein. Mew followed us down and continued to play about as it twirled around Mewtwo and landed on his shoulder.

"…Stein?" Mewtwo questioned the ghost as the form shifted when he realized again that he had yet to do that. The form slowly shifted form the body of the deceased man to that of a living on that was still surrounded in a musty green mist. "Is that you?"

"Who else would it be, Mewtwo?" The man chuckled. "I'm sorry it took so long for me to find you, you're a difficult pokemon to track, and it would have been impossible for me to leave the island without the help of Miss Vilmos."

I rubbed my hand behind my head and turned away. "Don't do that, Stein, you're making me blush."

Stein brushed that off and continued to talk to his old companion. "Miss Vilmos has taken me nearly everywhere and every farthest corner of this region to find you, Mewtwo, I was so afraid you would hate the world and humans alike when I would finally see you again that it started a fire in me to try and prove to you that not all humans are bad, like say… Miss Vilmos and her father, Mr. Vilmos, or as you know him, Haze." Stein stopped to sigh. "But it seems that they have already done that for you." Stein gently gripped Mewtwo's shoulder with his ghostly hand. "I'm glad I got to see you again."

"Does this…does this mean that you don't plan to stay in the mortal realm?" His old companion asked sadly.

"Good heavens, no! I plan to stay with you if you don't mind at all." Stein floated his book into Mewtwo's hands. "I wanted to stay so you never had to be lonely again, my dear friend."

A small smile finally graced the pokemon's lips. "I've waited and dreamed for a long time for that Stein, I am glad you've returned."

"Mew!" The small pink feline swirled around the two of them as they laughed and reconnected.

"I hate to interrupt, but Mewtwo," the larger pokemon turned to me in question. "Do you know when my father said he'd be back? I'm a little antsy waiting for him. I haven't seen him in a few years."

"He did not say," the pokemon told me. "Though if you wish to pass the time, will you challenge me?"

"Oh, what a great way to pass the time!" Stein cheered. "A battle between one of the world's strongest pokemon and one of the world's strongest trainers. Why not?"

"I wouldn't mind a battle, Haze may be a while before coming back, I believe with you being in the hospital he didn't expect you so soon." Mewtwo noted before he vanished with Stein and Mewtwo other the other side of the field. "And would you mind if I partnered up with Mew?"

"Not at all, this makes it even more interesting…" I grinned and took my spot on the field while stein waited at the back on Mewtwo's side of the field and Mew jumped off his clone's shoulder into the air. "And I know just who to use for this battle! Let's go Amethyst! Ruby!" Out from their pokeballs came two of my powerful pokemon. "A two on two battle is fine with you, right?"

"We have no complaints." The two of them moved out onto the field and glared down at my pokemon. Both of mine glared back, ready for the fight.

"Good luck to you all!" Stein cried out from Mewtwo and Mew's side of the field before he gasped and floated over to halfway on the side of the field out of our way. "I shall referee this battle! I have always wanted to do so when I was alive." He shook his head and looked out onto the field. "This battle is between the sides of Mewtwo and Mew verses Violet's team of Amethyst and Ruby! Are both sides prepared and ready?"

"We're set over here!" I called out to the ghost.

"Mew and I are prepared ourselves," Mewtwo said and Mew happily chirped in "Mew!"

"Then let this match begin!" Stein hollered and leapt backward with his book.

Mewtwo and Mew levitated into the air using their psychic powers and started out with a swift attack from Mewtwo. Amethyst and Ruby leapt into the air and dodged the first attack with ease.

Amethyst flew up high into the air, far out of the way of Mewtwo's attack only to be faced with Mew. The small feline pokemon sped up at threw its body at Amethyst before its fist glowed and enlarged on its arm and hit my fire type. Amethyst took the hit to her gut and was thrown down slightly in the air, but quickly caught herself and flew back up.

"Alright you guys, let's get going! Amethyst use fire spin and Ruby use fury cutter!" My two pokemon raced off into the sky toward the two psychic types and dance up there in intense battle. Mewtwo avoided most of Ruby's slices at him until she flew behind him and hit his back shoulders, throwing him down into the ground and indenting the ground from the impact. Mewtwo easily got back to his feet with only a few scratches and the two of them went back at it.

Mew and Amethyst on the other hand were battling it out in the sky in the middle of the fire storm. The ceiling was covered with fire that Mew and Amethyst were flying circles inside of it. My fire type continued to fire at the feline pokemon that only laughed at her attempts of a fight until it got blasted in the face. Mew shook off the ash on its face before it looked sourly over at my pokemon, who only grinned back at it.

"Now Ruby, Amethyst, fall back to the ground! Amethyst, get behind Ruby!" The two of them did as I asked and hurried to get in the positions I wanted them to be in. "Now Ruby! Silver wind!" Her wings hummed at an incredible speed and blasted a thick wind of glittery wind that circled around both of the stunned pokemon up in the air. Mew suddenly lost the playful look in its eye and its eyes glowed blue before a set of large boulders appeared around. It cried out and the boulders were hurled at my pokemon.

"Now Ruby, to the side! Amethyst, fire blast the silver wind!" My bug type cut off her attack and dived to the side before Amethyst hurled a fire blast up into the air and the it all exploded around the two pokemon who weren't about to move out of the way in time. The sky stayed lit for a few more moments and as the fire and smoke began to clear, the boulders that had been hurled at us dropped to the ground before my pokemon missing her and no longer had the power of Mew's throw behind them.

"Amethyst! Fly up and Ruby, you fly up right behind her while she protects you from the fire! Use Fury cutter again! And Amethyst use fire punch!" The two of them jumped up into the air and my fire type led the way for my bug and steel type. Amethyst absorbed the fire all around into her body which reviled the two bodies up in the sky. Ruby then broke off and went around Amethyst to Mew this time and slammed it down into the ground with a fury cutter while Amethyst punched Mewtwo in the gut with a fist of fire.

I saw the wounds on them now from the battle, it seemed like they were starting to take on some real damage and some of the soot was in their eyes from all the fire in the air.

The two psychic pokemon flew slowly toward each other and Mew wrapped its body around Mewtwo and suddenly the two of them were glowing in a bright light and energy hurried toward them.

Tauros shit! Mewtwo knows recover! I cursed within my head as they gained energy and strength back. "Amethyst! Ruby! Fire blast and silver wind!"

The two of my pokemon threw their attacks down at the unmoving psychic types which suddenly exploded when they came together and got close enough to them. I heard a sudden wisp sound and I suddenly saw the two pokemon appear behind mine.

"Ruby! Amethyst! Behind you!" My pokemon turned around in a rush to see the two pokemon behind them, almost done healing. "Amethyst! Blast burn!"

My fire pokemon's most powerful fire type move blew up out of her mouth as white fire as well as her marks all over her body and this time I heard the cries as the attack hit them, unable to teleport away this time. My fire pokemon breathed heavily while Ruby stood protectively before her while the white fire blazed and soon faded off.

The two pokemon appeared and I saw them once again damaged and this time, separated. Mew and Mewtwo had burns and cuts all over their skins. The two of them growled as my two pokemon prepared to face them again in the next round.

The two of them stayed close to the ground this time rather than use their powers to rise in the air. I was actually surprised when I saw Mew's body became encased in white before his form change into something much larger than before. A gyarados then suddenly appeared in his place which screeched and then a blast of water came out of its mouth at my two pokemon. Ruby was about to leap out of the way but she seemed froze in her spot. Nothing seemed to be keeping her feet in place, but when I looked closer, I saw that Mewtwo was using psychic on her from the thin glowing line of purple around her body. Amethyst was still tired from her last blast of blast burn to keep her from getting off the ground.

Amethyst suddenly sucked in a deep breath and leapt up into the air to avoid the supper effective move toward her, thought it still managed to hit Ruby, but steel and bug types aren't very effected by water to begin with. Mewtwo seemed to release my bug type after a few moments and rose back up into the air and Mew turned back to normal while Ruby flew out of the water and met with Amethyst in the air. Both sides were starting to get tired and breathed heavily in the air.

"Mewtwo! Mew! What's going on here?" I gasped as I turned my head to the side and my eyes went wide. A man stood in the way of the passage that led to the room battle area we were in. His dark brown hair was shaggy on his head and he seemed to be in rags for clothes of a shirt and jeans and old sandals were on his feet. A cloak was over his body and his dark hazel eyes looked out worriedly onto the field. All four pokemon on the field froze and looked over at him.

"Haze…" I gasped as I looked at him and felt my heart welt up in happiness and I was frozen in my spot. I felt the tears start to drip down from my eyes and my pokemon worriedly looked over to me before smiles replaced their worried looks. My other two pokemon that were within their pokeballs I heard came out and gently pushed my body toward his. He'd yet to notice me.

"Haze, your daughter has come for you." My father's eyes widened and he looked around the entire room until his eyes finally landed on me. I felt like such a sob fest at the moment, but I didn't quite care. There was my father, he was really here and not some information I was hearing from others. He was alive…

"Dad!" With a light push from Sapphire and Zircon while Chalcedony jumped off my shoulders, I booked it toward my father. He suddenly shook himself out of his shocked state and dropped everything that he had in his arm before he held it out for me as I ran into him, leaping off the ground and wrapping my legs around his waist to hold onto him tighter.

"Violet…" I could feel him laugh through his sobs as he held me in his neck. "I didn't think I'd see you so soon…!" He literally pulled me off the ground on his arm, carrying me like he did when I was little.

"I couldn't wait, as soon as I saw the note, I had to come and get you." I pulled back and sighed when I actually got to see my father's face. "I hope you're ready to leave, you're over two years late to supper."

My father chuckled. "Has it really been that long?"

"Longer then even that Dad." I laughed as he released me and set me back down on the ground. "Is this all your stuff?"

"Yes, it is. I was just gathering it from the back of the cave, now the pokemon have an extra place to sleep here." He rubbed the back of his head with his hand and I grabbed his stuff from on the ground. He then licked his lips. "So what's for dinner tonight?"

"I'm not sure yet, after our big battle a couple days ago, I actually haven't talked to Mom… nor does anyone know that I'm here…"

"Violet!" I winced at my father's tone. He then sighed. "Like father like daughter, eh?"

"Like father like daughter." I grinned at him and turned back to all the pokemon and Stein out on the field. "I guess this battle is a draw for now, but in the future we'll have to see who's stronger, agreed?"

"Yes, be sure to visit when you can," Mewtwo told us. "While we will miss you Haze, an old friend of mine is here to take your place." Stein waved to my father and in returned, my father blinked before he waved back awkwardly.

"A ghost?" my father whispered over to me.

"Yes, I'll explain later," I whispered back to him. "We should get going before they send a search party out for me."

"Yes… but I feel guilty leaving Mewtwo and Mew hidden here in this cave, even if Team Rocket is gone. More evil will sprout up in the future and may try to take claim to them." My father explained.

"Haze, I will fight with every last breath in my body until I perish, I will never be a servant of any human!" Mewtwo snapped from over where he stood.

"Mew!" his original strongly agreed.

"Well… why don't they come with us then?" I questioned all of them. "I bet the professor can make a home for Mewtwo and Mew inside the town and they could come and go as they pleased, but they'll always have a home there. We've already done so for the three legendary bird's children we found." I turned to look at the psychic pokemon. "You guys wouldn't have to stay here at all and you could get used to the nice humans and pokemon that live in the area. And my mom will stuff you with food 'til you burst."

"I always loved that about your mother, it was one of the reasons I fell in love with her was her home cooking-don't tell her I said that or she'll kill me, or for calling me a glutton." My father rubbed the back of his head nervously and I could only laugh at his actions. "But yeah, why don't you two come with us, we have plenty of room in the town for you two, and you don't have to stay there all the time, you can travel whenever and wherever."

"…Are you sure that won't be a problem? The humans won't… experiment on us, right?" Mewtwo questioned worriedly

"Mew mew!" His original floated about with a determined face, confirming that it would hate the same after what happened last time and poor Mewtwo had painfully been brought into this world.

"Mewtwo, Mew, I know first had that the people in that town are nothing like the scientist who had assisted me with creating you long ago." Stein captured Mewtwo and Mew's attention with ease. "I was with Violet the entire time, her family and friends are all kind, I've yet to meet one that's been extremely sour, other than Chalcedony to most males." I couldn't help but laugh at that with my pokemon whereas Chalcedony only snarled and snorted before swinging his head away and looking in another direction.

"Oh, hush Chalcedony, I need your help now so stop sulking and come over here." My dark pokemon pouted before he sighed and hurried over to me and leapt onto my shoulder. "I need to borrow some energy to become a changeling of yours so we can heal Mewtwo and Mew, okay?" My dark type shrugged and stretched on my bag before I felt my connection to him grow and I felt my features changing while I stood there. I saw my hair turn black and my skin took on the same marks that Chalcedony has.

"Wow, Honey, I do not want to run into you in a dark alley like that," My father commented. I rolled my red eyes at him before I held out my hand for Mewtwo to take.

"Take my hand, Mewtwo. Mew, get over to Chalcedony, we'll both take care of healing you." The two pokemon looked at each other before they came over to us. Mew came over to Chalcedony on my shoulder and Mewtwo took my hand. "Moonlight."

A suddenly glowing appeared on our bodies before from our pores came a black mist that floated to the ceiling. It suddenly glowed in the center and I saw that it was becoming another fake moon on the ceiling of the cave. Suddenly from that fake moon came bubbles of healing moonlight energy that came to our bodies and were sent to Mewtwo's and Mew's. I heard my father whistle in amazement and the pokemon gasped.

I pulled away only a short time later and showed them their healed bodies. "So, how do you feel?"

"Like we never even battled," Mewtwo noted as he looked over his mark and grim free skin now.

"But it did happen," I chuckled. "Now let's get out of here, I'm sure half the police and people of Kanto are waiting outside for all of us."

"Mew could teleport you to the entrance instead." Mewtwo offered and the smaller feline pokemon nodded, crying out "Mew!"

"I would greatly appreciate that if you don't mind." Mew nodded its head and a sudden glowing overcame all of us before the cave room faded from view.

"Violet!" I blinked my eyes as I listened from the entrance of the cave for my brother's voice that called for me. Other voices soon joined his as I heard the cries of many people in the Kanto region and friends and family calling out. Pokemon cries echoed in the air, but one screeching cry out rang over them all. I heard Pidgeot's cries, she was telling everyone to shut up, and they quickly did.

"So," I turned to my father and the pokemon that had agreed to come with us to see if they wanted to stay in Pallet Town, or at least have dinner with all of us, "ready to face the music?"

My father sighed. "Not really, but I better get it over with." He looked at his stubbed shoulder. "I just hope you mother doesn't faint when she sees my arms gone."

"She shouldn't, she knew about that happening," I reminded my father. "But the shock still might sway her on her feet from just seeing you, not to mention your arm."

My father glared at me. "Thanks Hon," he nearly spat it out at me. I raised my arms in defense.

"Sorry!"

"Should we not head out to the public now?" Mewtwo questioned.

"Yeah, we should." I sighed. "Wait here a moment while I break the ice to them, I'll let you guys know when to come out." The three of them nodded while Stein decided it was best to hide with him being a ghost and withdrew into the book he possessed in Mewtwo's hands. I sighed again knowing the bug fuss that was about to stir when I took the first step out of the cave.

As soon as I took that step, the crowd of thousands of people that stood up on the back in town to look at the entrance screamed when they saw me. I heard others cry my name and the police began to move as soon as they saw me exit, not to mention all the Elite Four and my closest friends and family.

"Violet Vilmos!" I turned my head instantly to my mother who took me up in her arms, digging her nails into my skin and her tears rolling down my arms. "What the hell were you thinking?" She screeched at me and pulled back to show the frightened and tomato berry red face she had. She sobbed and fell back into my shoulder, continuing to cry there.

"Sis, what is wrong with you? You made the entire region freak out!" My brother came up next. His face was also in fear and rage with dried up tears. His fist was clenched at his side before it raised and was thrown at my face. I gasped and turned from the sudden action, shocked it was coming from my own flesh and blood. I waited for the hit to come, shocked that it hadn't. I slowly opened my eyes and looked over to see Vince's fist had been caught by our father. His cloak was up over his head so it was hard for Vince to tell who he was.

"That's enough, Vincent, you know better than to hit your own sister." He growled at my brother and his son.

"Relax Dad," I sighed. "It's my fault; don't take it out on him. Now release his arm, he won't do it again." I was right about that, Vince and my mother had frozen when they hear me utter "Dad". My brother nervously looked up to the man that held his arm while our father let him go. With his hand now free, Dad pulled back the cloak hood to reveal his face. My mother sucked in a sharp breath and raised her head from my shoulder. Her tears wouldn't stop flowing as she slowly walked toward him.

"…Haze?"

His snorted a laugh and held out his arm for her. "Sorry it took me so long to come home, Iv, things have been hectic the last few years-" My father didn't even get the chance to finished before my mother had propelled herself strait into his chest and his her face in there with his strong grip around her. "Iv…"

"DON'T YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN, YOU BASTARD! YOU-you… you bastard…" she sobbed heavily into his chest and pounded it with every sound she made. My father was frozen where he stood while he watched her just stand there and pound his chest, her hits softening with every blow she made, not that it probably hurt him anyway.

"I'm sorry, Ivory, I never wanted to leave… but if I didn't… you and the kids wouldn't have probably survived…" My mother looked up at him worriedly before she turned back to me for clarification.

"Team Rocket, Giovanni and Rose, they knew we were related. If Dad hadn't disappeared when he had or pretended to be dead, Team Rocket would have used us to try and bait Dad into giving up and killing us all, compared to him only losing an arm." My brother stiffened next to me and hid his eyes under his cap. "Then why didn't he come back the first time? After we got rid of Team Rocket and Giovanni?"

"Dad couldn't take the chance with the friends he was staying with. Team Rocket wanted them to help out their operations and at that time, Rose was still on the loose. He wanted to be sure that Team Rocket was gone, at least for the time being, before he could safely come out of hiding with his friends."

"What friends?" my brother demanded with fury in his eyes.

I looked up to the sky and watched as Pidgeot still hovered above. I motioned her down and she dived only to quickly land next to me. "Go into the entrance of the cave girl, there are two pokemon waiting there, let them know it's time for them to come out." She nodded to me and flew around me into the cave.

"What friends, Violet?" my brother questioned me again, still angry.

"Them." I pointed over to the cave entrance and my brother looked over at it, curious as Pidgeot stood there and called someone out. Mewtwo's large foot appeared out of the darkness of the cave and Pidgeot moved out of the way as he stepped outside with his original, Mew, floating next to him, Stein's journal in his hands.

Needless to say the people of Kanto all stared in wonder and fear as they gazed upon him. Mewtwo lowered his head to where he could look at them all without feeling all the weight of their gazes upon him. I stepped back over to him and held out my hand for him to take. "Come meet everyone, Mewtwo, there's no reason to hide anymore."

A sudden scream diverted our attention from each other and onto the people that were watching from above. A young child, female from what I saw, had slipped from her mother's grasp by the edge and had fallen over. Mewtwo quickly pulled his hand from mine and swung it before him toward the young child and in an instant her fall halted, halfway down and halfway up. Everyone was still as the child looked around to where she was before he looked over at Mewtwo.

"Ca-can yo-you set m-me down?" the little girl stammered. "I-I don-don't li-like it u-up here…" The psychic type next to me nodded and gently lowered the girl to the ground. Once she was on her own two feet, she looked above to where a worried woman was working her way through the crowd to a safer route to collect her child.

"Are you alright, child?" Mewtwo questioned the small human before us that quickly got over her fears as she was now on the ground and un-afraid.

"Yeah, I'm fine mister." She patted off her clothes and showed him a bright smile. "I'm Levy! What's your name?"

Mewtwo gasped at her question, unsure how to answer at first until I gently gabbed him in the arm. It woke him up to answer the girl rocking back and forth on her feet.

"Mewtwo," he finally replied to her.

"That's a cool name," she giggled at him and ran up to his side, taking his hand. "Can we be friends? I've always wanted to be friends with a pokemon, but Momma's afraid of them since she was little like me."

"I apologize for your mother being scared of us, but I would not purposely hurt anyone." Mewtwo got down on one of his knees, "Though if you don't mind being a friend of mine, I would love to be your first pokemon friend."

"Yeppie!" The leapt up into the air before she crawled onto Mewtwo's shoulders and held onto the skin tight areas over bone on his head to keep herself on steadily. "My first pokemon friend! Yeppie!"

I clapped for them; my action easily caught the attention of this beautiful child that had been willing to accept this pokemon in a matter of seconds that had been hiding out for the past few years. It wasn't long after I began clapping for them that others joined in, first my family (other than my father who had only one hand and had to make due with patting his leg to make the sound), then our friends joined in. Soon after many of the on lookers joined in too, quickly turning into a cheering crowd that recognized that Mewtwo was no threat or harm to anyone here, all due to my intervention.

The mother quickly came down to the area we were in and hurried over next to Mewtwo, flinching back when she got too close. Her fears of pokemon prevented her from getting too close and her daughter and Mewtwo watched her curiously.

"Don't be afraid Momma; Mr. Mewtwo is a nice pokemon. He saved me, remember?" the little girl told her mother from atop of Mewtwo's head and smiled brightly at everyone. The crowd continued to clap while the woman still kept her distance. "Try Momma, just hold his hand."

The woman looked hesitantly at her daughter before she looked back at Mewtwo, who worriedly looked back at her. He looked afraid as if he thought he might break her in half, but that was understandable from the smallness of the woman in both height and weight, she looked no taller than four foot nine and nearly as young as a child, but the tiniest of wrinkles told otherwise.

"If you do not wish to come toward me, I understand. Not all humans like pokemon and I can accept that." Mewtwo, while sadness edged in his voice, told her confidently while she looked at her own hands, trying to muster up any courage she had.

"Don't you just love how innocent children are?" The woman gasped and looked up at me as I took her hand and Mewtwo's in my other. "It shows how pure they are how ready they are for any challenge, how much braver they are then us."

"I-I want t-to Ch-champion Violet," the woman whispered to me nervously, her hands shaking in my own. "But it-it's so h-hard to ge-get past th-this fear I-I've had all m-my life."

"Yes, yes it is, but that makes the victory so much sweeter when we then manage to conquer it, doesn't it?" The crowd's cheers had quieted down as they watched our spectacle.

"Try Momma, don't be afraid!" little Levy tried again to cheer her mother on and convince her.

I slowly inched the hands closer together as the woman watched. She hesitated a time or two and pulled back on my hand slightly and I would stop, give her a moment to catch her bearings before trying to get her even closer. She never pulled her hand from mine as I finally got it within an inch of Mewtwo's then even closer. Soon enough, her fingers and his had crossed to the point where they could both gently touch the other's palm. Once the hands were finally in place, I connected them. The woman's hand met Mewtwo's and I slowly and gently let them go and backed away a step and watched, the woman's face seemed alright as she watched her hand in his.

"Now, was that so bad?" The woman looked over to me with her grip still in Mewtwo's. She shook his hand and her head before she softly smiled at him and then nodded to me.

"No, it wasn't." She'd finally calmed down enough and began overtaking her fear. "Thank you, Champion Violet."

"Don't thank me; it was your daughter who got you down here. I think she's the real hero for this battle, don't you?"

"I do," Mewtwo said. He smiled at the woman and gently released her hand before pulling the small child off his shoulders and handing her over to her mother. "But sadly the time has come for myself and all my friends to return to the town of Pallet. I would love it, young Levy, if you would come visit me there some time."

"Of course! Right Momma?" The mother nodded to the eager child. "Yay!" She waved over to Mewtwo. "Bye-bye Mr. Mewtwo! I'll come and visit you as soon as I can!"

"I shall be looking forward to it then." He watched the two of the head off back into the crowd before he turned back to look at me. "I am ready to leave now Violet, my apologizes if that took too long."

"Oh don't worry about it!" I brushed it off and called out my fire type, climbing up onto her back. "There's too many of us to teleport back to Pallet Mewtwo, so we'll fly, you alright with that?"

"It makes no difference," he shrugged at me before he headed up into the air and I turned around to my family.

"Let's get going you guys, I need to talk with Alex, he's back at town right?" My brother laughed as he called out his moltres and climbed on it while I got on Amethyst. Mom and Dad got onto Pidgeot.

"Oh yeah, he is, but man is he pissed…"

We arrived home a short while later and I was braced for the second battle I'd have that night. I'd freaked Alex out and just left him back on Seven Isle while he was recovering to go find my father. It was one of the worst things I'd ever done and I planned to set it right without fail. I just hoped he wouldn't be too mad…

Amethyst landed right before his house on the top of the hill where the professor and Daisy were playing a game of cards. I rushed past them and left introductions to the others as I hurried up to the second floor and to Alex's room. When I opened the door, it seemed that nothing hand changed, no matter what. No matter what kind of guy he was on the inside, he was still a guy, his room, thought it looked much cleaner then what I had expected, had some clothes littered in a pile off to the side and his pokemon resting around the room with the except of his zapdos that probably left to stay with his son.

I tip-toed around the five pokmeon that littered the floor with their bodies as they slept until I came up to Alex's bed. He seemed asleep and restless on his side, his fist bunching up the sheets. I gently let my fingers brush at his hair and I kissed his forehead, then his lips.

"I'm sorry Alex; I didn't mean to make you worry," I whispered to him. "I got caught up the moment, my Dad had left me a note to come and get him, and I was just too stunned to let you know…"

"Then you and I need to work on our communication skills." I gasped as I felt an arm wrap around my waist and pull me into the bed, the bed covers flew over my head before I landed next to a warm body under them.

"Alex!" I tried to keep my voice to a loud whisper as he dragged me in. His arms were wrapped around me and his tired eyes looking into mine.

"I want you to stay here tonight; I sleep easier when you're near me."

"Alex… I'm sorry…"

"Don't worry about it; I know how much finding your dad meant to you. But we can talk about this more in the morning; I'm going back to bed."

"But Alex, I haven't had anything to eat yet, I'm starved."

He pointed over my head. "On the night stand…" He curled into my side, his head right next to mine and I looked to where he'd pointed. A large sandwich and a drink waited for me there as well as a jar of mago berries.

I smiled and looked down to the sleeping form of my boyfriend. "You always think of everything…"

Things settled down quite a bit after that. Alex had easily forgiven me for the events that took place over that past couple days and I was grateful for it. Mewtwo and Mew had settled down quite easily into our small town of Pallet. They enjoyed being able to be out in the sun and not have to hide anymore, thought the professor's been quite taken with them and keep trying to study them from afar, only to be caught every time. The Elite Four had even been started up again for battles. I'd yet to be called upon yet through for a battle for my championship, so I spent most of my time at home, quite bored out of mind now actually.

To keep my boredom from driving others nuts, Luke and Daisy often were together and I would watch their relationship all day in my free time. Luke would give her small gifts and she would blush like a tomato berry at them. The two of them were a good pair, even if they wouldn't revile that they like each other to the rest of us.

My father had been quite happy to come home as well; most of his time was taken up by our mother who wanted to make up what they had missed with him gone. He still tried to make time for Vince and me, but we told him not to worry about it. He had plenty of time, just help out mom with her madness now.

To make things even worst on my boredom, Alex and Vince were offered to take over the Viridian Gym. A new gym would be built next to the old one while the previous one and final Team Rocket base would be dismantled and all items taken to the game corner in Celadon where more underground tunnels would be made to make a replica of what was in Viridian to there, the projects were underway now so Team Rocket's organization would be entirely reviled and show their own way of life. With everyone busy and myself tormented with thoughts of how to deal with capturing Rose and Giovanni, and finding Tristan, I often spent my time upon my roof, just left to my own thoughts with my pokemon.

"Hey Violet!" Luke called to me from below with Daisy at his side. I looked out over the edge and jumped down to join them, my pokemon all lumbering over as well.

"What's up, Luke?"

"I know that you've been pretty bored and restless lately, so I thought I'd give you a few tips for another adventure for you, but this one you might be taking with only your pokemon rather than with the guys this time with them running the gym."

I sighed. "I'll take anything you give me; I'm going out of my mind."

He nodded. "Okay then, well, as you know, Rose, Giovanni and Tristan, as well as any other members that hadn't been caught, mostly fled west, yes?"

"Yeah…"

"Well, another region is nearby, it actually is our sister region and is connected through the side of the mountains that lead to the Victory Road. Over that set of mountains leads to the region called "Johto". It's quite possible that all of them had gone there to hide or train, away from where you may look for them."

It certainly caught my attention. "Is there any other region nearby that one to the west?"

"None so far as I can tell, unless you head to the far north west, but that would be thousands of miles of pure wild jungle and no way to guide yourself but by the sun, stars and moon. Without a better way of transportation, I doubt that Rose would make the journey, and she's just been cut off from everything, Giovanni still has many wounds to heal and what not, and Tristan is just a young boy, while I have no doubt that he most likely is resourceful and will make the best of what he has, I don't think he's leaving the next region anytime soon."

"And you think all three of them are in this next region?"

"I don't think so, Violet, with what resources they have, or unless they somehow snuck back into Kanto that I know of."

I raised my arms in defense. "Just checking!"

"Calm down, Luke, she just wanted to get her facts straight," Daisy told him sternly. "Violet only wishes to bring Rose and Giovanni to justice where they can't hurt anyone anymore and to help that boy of theirs." Daisy smiled. "I think she's taken quite a liking to him, like an older sister would to a younger brother."

"…I have…" Luke and Daisy blinked before they both looked over at me. "I have taken a liking to him. In a sisterly way, not the same way I feel about Alex. I just feel so… unable to help him when he needed me most. The only thing that keeps me hoping strong about him is that he's free of them, he has his freedom."

"Well… maybe if you head to that other region, you may find him," Daisy encouraged me. "I'm sure he's out there, and one day, he'll be ready to join your crazy family."

"I hope so, Daisy… I really do…" I grabbed up my things and cracked the side of my neck. "But I guess the only way for me to find him is to head to the next region and search for him myself." I climbed up on Amethyst and then looked down at the two of them. "Can you guys do me a favor and gather our families and friends and meet at the Viridian Gym? I want to explain it all to everyone."

Daisy reached up and gripped my hand in her own. "Don't worry Vi; I'm sure they'll understand. We'll meet you there." I nodded and she released me and I took off into the sky, flying on my pokemon toward the city to the north.

I'd arrived at the new Viridian gym a short while later, and to the boys' surprise that I was calling a family meeting for everyone. Alex was peeved when he heard he actually had to wait for everyone to arrive before I would tell them about what I was planning to do. He kept pacing in the gym and thought it was something bad that was about to take place, and this for him, it would be.

My parents pulled in first, a worried look on their faces. It's not often that we call these meetings to order, only for issues concerning important matters normally. Professor Oak and Daisy with her arm on Luke's came in next, they quietly sat down in the far corner as we waited for the rest of everyone. Next that came were my other two pokemon that I couldn't take with me, Lovey and Black Spinal, they would have to remain behind as I traveled unless one of my pokemon became injured and we had to put them in the hospital for a while, but unless it was Chalcedony (because of his healing ability), I seriously doubt it. Last came the legendary bird children along with Mewtwo and Mew, Stein's book floating beside them as they joined us, and his ghost figure showing to us all.

"So what is it that you wanted to talk to us about Violet?" My mother finally questioned me once we were all here.

"Well… Luke and Daisy came to talk to me today, noting about my boredom. There's hardly much to be done, I finish all chores too quickly with the help of my pokemon or even on my own. So they started to talk to me… about Rose, Giovanni and Tristan." Everyone gasped. I nodded to them, looking to all their faces. "I know, we discussed how they had fled west and that there's a region to the west of here, our sister region, Johto."

"Vi, I'm not liking this…" my brother whined worriedly from his spot next to Alex.

"So I want to pursue them, go undercover in Johto to look for the three of them. None of them will be easy to find, so sneaking around would be my best option."

"Bu-but Violet!" I turned to look at my hysterical mother. "We just got the family back together, now you want to leave?"

"Mom, we can't let Rose and Giovanni run amuck, and Tristan's still out there, he needs our help. I'm sorry, but I can't just wait around for something to happen before I go there, I've done too much of that here. Plus, I need to stay strong, because the next time I face them, they'll be stronger. Johto is filled with new pokemon that have different types and what not for me to train against and get stronger."

"…How long will you be gone?" I turned my head to Alex who looked up at me worriedly.

"I honestly don't know, I really don't Alex." He sighed and turned away from me. "But I promise to write, and come back during the holidays; you know I can't live without you."

Alex still didn't seem convinced. I sighed and I walked over to him and took his hand. I kissed his forehead and then his lips. "I promise Alex, I'll send you a letter as soon as I get into Johto."

Alex finally looked back up at me and nodded, gripping my hand tightly in his own. "You better, Vi, and don't disappear, alright?"

"I promise, but then again, knowing you, you'll come out there and try to find me." He finally gave me a soft smile and nodded.

"Probably, Vince and I don't both have to be at the gym, one of us can head out as long as the other is there for a while or what not."

"And don't you worry about Kanto, Sis!" my brother told me. "We'll take care of everyone here, human and pokemon."

"I know you will, Vince."

"Violet!" my mother cried out before she tugged on my father's arm. "Haze! Do something!"

My father nervously rubbed the back of his head while she clung to his only appendage above his waist. "I dunno, Iv, its Vi's choice on what she does with her life. She is the champion of the region; I don't see why she shouldn't explore others and try to track down Rose."

"But no one will be with her!"

"Mom, I'm never alone. My pokemon are always with me," I argued.

"But-"

"Iv, leave her alone. She'll be alright." My father spoke up for me. "Violet is a big girl and the champion of the region, this kind of matter she'd have to deal with soon enough, she might as well handle it now."

"Oh… but… oh, I give up," my mother sighed and came over to me in a rush before taking me in her arms. "If you don't show up home every now and then or call us, I'm coming after you and bringing you home."

"I know, Mom, I will."

"Do you have everything already packed?" my father questioned.

I nodded. "I packed before I came here."

"When do you plan to leave?" Vince asked.

I shrugged. "I'd hoped to leave right after this meeting."

"I hope you remember on your journey to record all new pokemon you haven't seen yet," the professor grinned lightly.

"I will," I smirked back as I approached the older man and hugged him. Then I turned to Daisy and Luke. "And you two better tell me how your relationship is going when I come back."

"We're not going out!" I blinked at their shouting and rolled my eyes before I turned next to Mewtwo, Mew and Stein.

"You guys take care of yourselves and make sure to have that little girl Levy come over some more or visit her yourselves, she really looks up to you."

"We shall, Violet, do not worry, Levy has showed me that not all people are evil, just like you have. I will visit her so long as she wishes to see me." Mewtwo nodded to me and Mew flew around him happily with a grin on its face before landing on its clone's shoulder.

"And I shall watch out for the two of them," Stein said to me. "Be careful on your journey."

"No offense, Stein," I whispered to him, "But that seems to be pretty impossible for me. Bad guys always seem to find me and hunt me down or I run into trouble."

"I know that, but I'm trying to… oh forget it." He shook his head. "Do not change your ways, Miss Vilmos."

"Be careful, Honey, don't you dare forget to send us messages every now and then. Let me know if you need more money or anything-" I drowned out my mother's voice as she began to rant about things that she's could do for me.

"In other words," my father cut her off, "We're here if you need us, so don't be afraid to call or ask for favors."

"I'll keep that in mind." I hugged the two of them before I turned next to my brother. I saw the tear that escaped his eye that he managed to catch before the others saw, but I did. "Awe Vince, don't cry."

"I'm not crying!" He quickly pulled me into a hug to hide his tears in my hair as he gave me his good-bye. "Come back soon, Sis."

I then turned to my two other pokemon that would be left behind, Lovey and Black Spinal. "You two take care of my family while I'm gone and the other pokemon alright?" The two of them cried as I hugged them and kissed them both on their cheeks.

I lastly turned to Alex. I kissed his lips gently before I felt him grip both my cheeks and hold me there for a long moment before he broke this kiss. He looked longingly into my eyes.

"Don't forget us," he whispered.

"I won't."

"No," he kissed me again to prove his point. "Don't forget us."

"Still, Alex, I promise I won't." I felt myself near ready to sob, but I held it in as hugged him and then pulled away. "Good-bye…"

I ran out of the gym before I changed my mind. I heard a few of the others shout behind me, but I ignored those cries before I felt the tug of Alex and home that had been trying to drag me back. I quickly threw out the pokeballs of all my pokemon and I quickly climbed atop my fire type and griped her horns.

"Quickly Amethyst!" I sobbed behind her now surrounded by the comfort of my pokemon. "Go, before I change my mind!"

My fire pokemon nodded, tears in her eyes and in the rest of my pokemon while my smaller pokemon jumped onto my shoulders and lap before she flapped her wings and took off toward the mountains.

I felt the mountain air drying away my tears as my pokemon raced in the sky over the thick set of mountains that separated both of the regions. I turned my head to look back to where I ran from; the gym quickly vanished from my vision as well as all the cities of Kanto. Only mountains could be seen before I saw a mountain taller than both regions combined. I had Amethyst fly up toward the top and I was thankful I still had my jacket because the temperature up there was quite chilly. My eyes widened as I looked down from where we were. The view from above looked out over both of the regions. It looked to be a colder climate on the other side of the mountain with all the trees and forests compared to fields and beaches. I also saw ice and snow to the north, it my first time seeing it out of its season and outside of a cave where ice types lived.

I wiped my eyes and held onto my pokemon with gentler hands this time around. "It's our new adventures guys, let's go find them and get stronger!" All my pokemon cried out before we flew beyond the mountains and into the new region from the blue sky above it.

I plan to find you Rose, Giovanni, and Tristan. I hope you're ready… I'm coming for you!
