I own Vician Trannyth, everything else belongs to Blizzard
A/N...
Some of this, like the Shadow Ascendants and the Lightslayers come the WoW RPG.
I figured that eventually, there would be a member of the Forsaken who was influential or at least met Arthas as either a young boy or knew him growing up. So, I made Vician part of the group.
Warning: Not much warning in this one actually
Sylvanas has noticed something strange, recently. Trannyth, her most trusted warlock and friend—and the only person able to make her dead heart feel life again—has been stalking around her Dark Rangers. She would notice them conversing quietly, silencing themselves when anyone else walked into the room. Would Trannyth betray her like Putress had? Did his constant connection to demons corrupt his mind? Putress's betrayal caught her off guard, and she would not allow another betrayal to fester. She resolved that she would discover what Trannyth was up to, and she hopes that she is merely overreacting, for she cannot handle a betrayal from Trannyth.
So, calling on her skills of a ranger, she tracked him throughout the Undercity. Using her own skills, along with the skills of Dark Rangers Anya, Clea, and Cyndia, they tracked Trannyth around the Undercity, watching him converse with several Dark Rangers, although they would become silent when other approached.
One day, Sylvanas caught a break. As she was tracking Trannyth, she overheard a conversation between the warlock and Dark Ranger Kalira. "Good evening, Dark Ranger," Vician began, nodding his head to Kalira.
Kalira returns the nod, "Same to you, Lord Trannyth." Sylvanas's eyebrows shoot up; Trannyth was a nobleman?
Vician snorts, "Hmph, 'Lord'. When did I gain that rank?" He asks sarcastically.
"Weren't you a nobleman in life?" Kalira asks awkwardly.
Vician smirks at Kalira, "Yes, I was. And before you ask, with the exception of our Brothers and Sisters, none of the Forsaken knows of my past; not even the Dark Lady Herself." Vician shrugs and whispers to Kalira, "It is an awkward subject to bring up; especially to The Dark Lady since I knew Arthas."
Sylvanas's jaw goes slack, before she hardens up, a fire in her eyes. It takes all of her training not to storm out of hiding and confront Trannyth. How could he not tell her?! She forces herself to calm down, to catch the rest of the conversation. "You knew Arthas!?" Kalira asks, angrily hissing at Vician.
Vician holds up his hands, "Yes. I wasn't the chief advisor to the King, but I was a few steps down. I met Arthas a few times, even met his lover, Jaina Proudmoore. If I knew then, what I know now, I would have killed him." Vician smirks, shrugging his shoulders, "Fate has an interesting sense of humor.
"Anyway, I didn't call you here to chit-chat. I've tracked Ilius to Deathknell and I will speak to Aelthalyste in a few days time. We must bring the Lightslayers and the Shadow Ascendants together if we are to unify the Cult."
Kalira shakes her head, "Good luck with that."
"It's not impossible," Vician answers back, "we just have to be clear on the doctrine. The rest will fall into place."
Kalira nods, "And what of the Royal Apothecary Society?"
Vician scratches his chin; Sylvanas knows it's a habit of his, when he is about to stretch the truth. "It's going well; we've run into a few shags, however. Don't worry, I will talk to Faranell."
Kalira nods, "And what of the Dark Lady; is she informed?"
Vician shakes his head, "No. And I want to keep it that way. I do not want Sylvanas to get involved. If we start throwing around her name, we'll lose many people and Cult will never succeed. We must do this in secret, until the Cult is stable, then I will tell Sylvanas."
Sylvanas is flush with a mix of emotions; betrayal, sadness, awe, and even a certain amount of happiness. Kalira's voice draws her back into the conversation. "You know, it's kind of obvious how you feel for her."
Vician blanches; the tips of his ears redden, "Really?"
Kalira smiles, "Yea. All of the Brothers and Sisters support you. You're good to Sylvanas; much more than Blightcaller. You should tell her. I'm sure she feels the same."
Vician rubs the back of his neck, a sign that Sylvanas knows that he's trying to survive an awkward situation, "I . . . I will, after I get the Cult on its feet." Looking around, Vician nods to her, "We have talked for long enough and we must part for the night. I will talk to Faranell in the morning."
Kalira nods and bows, "May you bend the Shadows to your will and Dark Lady watch over you."
Vician returns the gesture, "May you bend the Shadows to your will and Dark Lady watch over us all."
