Chapter 42
(I do not own Supernatural. Please read then review)
"Cass?" She whispered as she rolled over.
He was in a wooden chair. His fingers locked together as his elbows were upon his knees. He lifted his head up to the sound of her voice. Bella raised up they were in some sort of old library. He'd had her head resting on his black blazer. Cass came to his feet. Bella lowered her head as though in shame.
"I'm sorry…" She said softly.
He looked to her in wonder.
"What for?"
"I dishonored you."
Cass crouches down before her. He lifts her chin with his fingers. She'd tears forming in her eyes.
"I grew angry and lost my faith. I…"
He comes to his knees and pulls her into his chest.
"Bella, you weren't the only one tested. I too was angry. To be honest, I still am. I've even considered a bit of disobedience as my faith has been tested as well. We've been cast aside, Bella. Every single angel has had their wings ripped away. The Lord has shut down his gates and we cannot return. The reason I did not answer your call was due to the war that had broken out within Heaven's gates." He shuts his eyes for a moment. He too felt guilt as he looked upon his wife. He too felt as though he'd wronged her.
He pulled back and took her wedding hand into his own.
"You'd every reason to lose your conviction in me. I aggrieved not you only, but our unborn child. I did not mean it so taciturnly. Bella, if you only knew…" He put his hand upon her cheek.
"I never thought I'd have the option to be a father, just as I hadn't to be a husband. Now that I have both… I will take whatever means necessary to keep you both safe. I might be Castiel angel of the Lord once again. But I am also Cass Winchester you're devoted husband, fellow hunter, and father of this miraculous being within your womb." He puts a hand upon her tummy.
"I will continue to fight in the name of the Lord. However, my priorities have somewhat changed. Surely, he will understand. He knows all and he will see what Raphael has done and why it is I make the decisions I make. You're my wife. I will stand by you and fight. I have not forgotten." He twirls his own wedding band around his finger. Showing her he'd not taken it off.
"I could never forget. Even now as an angel I feel your love, your courage, your faith, and devotion. Bella, I'm still very much human in here…" He points to his heart.
"No one can ever take that away from me. It's because of you. I can honestly say. I know what it's like. I know the struggle, the love, the fear, everything there is to being a human. I've not forgotten."
He lays her back down. His eyes stay locked with hers. He brushes away the hair from her face. Bella's heart comes to life as he eagerly kisses her. He pulls back gasping for air, but returns to her lips. He proved he'd not forgotten lust as well. He grew hard and leaned into her ear.
"I've not forgotten the pizza man as well." Cass found himself grinning as he said this.
Bella softly laughed. Cass kissed along her neck. He took off her jacket and lifted her sweater up over her neck he tossed it about the floor. He felt slightly dizzy as he looked upon her. His hands ran along her breasts and torso. He unclasped her bra and gently removed it. He smiled again noticing she had a very slight bulge starting to form. Cass kissed upon her tummy. Bella ran her fingers through his locks of hair as he continued to kiss along her body. He undid his tie and started to unbutton his shirt. This sudden desire to feel her bare skin next to his was incredible. He wanted to make love to her that's all he could think about at the moment. He swiftly unfastened his pants and took himself out. He was in agony the need for release was so intense. He felt so human at the moment it was surreal.
"I need you." He urgently whispered and he slid her jeans along with her panties.
Before him, lay his gorgeous naked wife, with the beginning showings of being with child. HIS CHILD! Something about that had Cass on fire. Pure passion filled him to the brim. No one was ever taking this away from him. He thought as he looked upon his wife. He shut his eyes with sensitivity as he felt his wife kissing along his chest. Her hands ran along his back. He hadn't realized just how much he'd missed her touch.
Tears ran down Bella's face, but not that of sadness. More of celebration, her husband hadn't forgotten after all. He was still very much in touch with his humanity. That and he was accepting of their child. Bella found herself wrapping her arms and legs around him. She never wanted to let go. He was so warm and inviting to the touch. She bit upon her lower lip and her back slightly arched off the ground. Cass had placed himself inside. He wiped her tears with his thumbs as he pumped himself within her.
His lips locked with hers again. His movements became more powerful. Cass looked down to see him within her sex. Her juices had him saturated. He had it dripping from him with each stroke.
"Cass baby."
He swallowed back at this. Something else he'd truly missed, hearing her say that. It did something to him. It drove him mad and made him feel more human than ever. He pulsated even more significantly than before. Cass felt he'd pass out from sheer ecstasy overdrive. He hadn't realized it'd hit him so strongly. That familiar pressure below hit. It reminded him of the first time they'd made love. A moan surpassed his lips. He then ground his teeth together as he began to come. Bella gasped back as she felt his warmth escaping and flooding her. Cass gave a couple more strokes before he pulled out. Neither, said another word just looked upon one another.
After a few more minutes Bella's eyes had grown heavy again. Cass sensed her body had been through a great deal. He wondered what all she had to face, before he'd got to her. He also wondered where her brother and Jo were. Why was his wife all alone? He knew it wasn't like Dean to leave his sister's side. He'd so many questions, but knew Bella needed her rest. Now that she was with child they'd have to take extra precaution. She couldn't afford to otherwise. He held her while she slept. He'd kiss her from time to time and run his hands along her body. Before long he decidedly got dressed. Cass knew he had to prepare. A war had been brought down to earth now. Not only that, but it seemed everyone was after Bella and his child now. He couldn't have that. He wouldn't stand for it. He placed his dagger back into his blazer pockets. Whilst Bella slept, he got her dressed as well. He never knew when they'd have to pick up and run.
She whimpered out off and on in her sleep. Occasionally, his name left her lips. Cautiously he listened to every noise around them. He'd look out the windows every once in a while. He heard her tummy growling and her lips were chapped. He needed to get some food and water into her system. He no longer had to worry about such things. But he remembered hunger and thirst. Once Bella came to again he nodded towards her.
She rubbed her eyes a bit and came to her feet.
"You need to eat and drink something. Then we need to be on our way. We cannot stay in one place for too long."
She nodded.
"Where is your brother?"
She sighs with the looks of a long story about her face. He lowered his brows on this.
"What happened Bella?"
She leaned against one of the bookcases. She told him what had taken place. However, once she got to the point about taking Death's place. He stopped her. An ill look came about him.
"You took the place of Death?!"
She sighed again.
"I hadn't much choice."
He looked to her tummy in thought.
"But you are with child."
"He said the child wouldn't be killed. I had warned him before hand."
"Did he say killed or harmed Bella?"
She looked to him oddly.
"Bella… Which was it? What did he say exactly when you agreed to this?"
He made out her heart pattern and how it was racing. Her eyes widened in thought.
I know… It will not kill the infant…
"Those were his exact words?"
She nods.
"Cass, you're scaring me what is it?"
He shakes his head.
"To become Death Bella you and the child were reapers for a day." Cass stumbled back in thought.
"You weren't the only one experiencing taking lives for a day. Our child has also experienced whatever you had. The child is a part of you. In order for you to serve Death's purpose, the child had to take on the title as well."
"What?!"
She put her hands to her stomach in thought.
"What exactly does that mean?"
"Just as I said, everything you experienced, the child did as well."
"No!"
Cass was irate with Death. He knew better! Why would he do such a thing! What would this do to their child?
"Why would you agree to something like this?! What were you thinking?!" He found himself raising his voice at Bella. Something he never does.
Bella looked completely ill.
"I was trying to get you and Sammy out! Dammit Cass, was I supposed to do?!"
"You had no business taking that sort of risk!" He pointed directly at her.
"Bella, you simply cannot do the things you used to do. You have to take extra precaution. You're responsible for another life as well now. How can I protect you?! How can I protect our child?! If you keep this mentality up?!"
"What mentality?!"
"Where you assume everything is up to you! You just do whatever you want! I doubt seriously you consulted your brother or Jo on this matter! Where were they when you took on this role?!"
She grinds her teeth together.
"Like I told you there was no other choice. I was the only one that could even see the bastard! He acted as if I shouldn't have been able to see him. What choice did I have?! You honestly believe I'd purposely put our child in harm's way! He said the child wouldn't die! How was I to know he was tricking me?!" Bella tossed a book across the library.
"I did what I did in order to bring you and Samael back! I hadn't any idea…"
"Never again! I mean it Bella. As your husband I put my foot down. You're not to ever take on such a task again!"
"You can't be serious! Since when do you ever talk to me that way?"
"Since you put your and our child's life at risk, you were imprudent in your decisions Bella! You of all people know better. You've been a hunter since you were 13! You're not exactly new to how this things work! You should have known there would be some sort of hidden agenda there always is! Where's the hunter I know? Why didn't you ask more questions before taking this on?!"
She nods and presses her lips together. She grabs her jacket and puts it on.
"Bella…" He spoke softly seeing the hurt written all over face.
She ignores him and reaches for the door handle. He shakes his head and grabs her arm before she heads out.
"You haven't any idea…" She says softly looking him in the eyes.
"Obviously, I haven't any idea what you went through either Cass baby. But I've been put through the ringer and back! These last few days have been literal hell. All I could think about was how I wanted to see you again. By the way quick story short Samael and Crowley are free. Because I was Death for a day I was able to trick myself back into Hell and free them. But I guess that pisses you off to as well right?! Finally, you and Dean Winchester have something in common!"
He nods and gently pins her back against the library wall. He closes his eyes and lowers his head for a moment.
"This is so frustrating." He speaks softly.
"All these emotions…" He utters as if in agony.
"I apologize Bella I just…"
He freezes and quickly covers her mouth. The doors swing open to the library. Cass and Bella remain perfectly still. He'd his dagger already prepared. Cass waited until the two men were upstairs. He then took Bella's hand and quickly led her out of the library.
"Where they?"
"No, but at this point we can't be sure who to trust. That goes for humans as well."
Cass kept his arm around her as they traveled on.
"You should eat." He says in thought looking around.
"I don't have enough money Cass. I'll be fine. We just need to get back to my brother and Jo. My things are back with them. I got teleported here by Death."
He takes off his blazer and places it on her.
"Cass?"
He looks to her as he's bundling her up.
"I really messed up didn't I? I never meant to put our baby…"
He puts a finger to her lips.
"You didn't deserve my rant. I can only imagine what all you might've faced. All that matters is we're together now. I'm sure our baby is fine as well."
"How will it be? Cass I took lives! I delivered them once I was done!"
He winced at this and took in a breath.
"We shall see as time progresses. Our child hasn't fully developed… that was my only concern."
He puts his hand upon her tummy. Cass shuts his eyes momentarily. Bella wondered what he was doing. Cass has a small smile form on his face.
"Health wise our child is perfectly fine."
She takes in a breath of relief. There was something else to his face as well.
"What is it?"
He kisses her forehead.
"It really is a boy."
She smiles.
"You can sense that?"
"I can see him. He's so tiny."
"Wait, you can see our baby?"
He nods.
"An angel thing I take it?"
"Yes, but that is the first time. I'd ever experienced such a thing. I'd never tried it before."
She noticed her husband had this glow to his face now. He kept grinning as they walked along.
"So we're really having a boy…" She says in thought.
She looks over to a nearby train that was passing by.
"I take it you can't teleport anymore?"
He shakes his head.
"How fast can you run?"
He looks to her oddly. She motions towards the train.
"If we could get on that train, it'll lead us right back to D."
He nods in thought. She gasps in surprise as he scoops her up. He takes off that direction. Bella wraps her arms around his neck. She was about to ask him how he planned to do this. Cass never seizes to amaze her. He kept one arm tightly around her. He leaped out at the train and grabbed onto one of the doors. Cass maneuvered inside as he landed on his back. He braced his arms around Bella at the impact.
"Did you ever spend time as a cowboy?" She teases her husband.
He looks to her puzzled.
"I do not believe so."
She softly laughs.
"That was pretty cool Cass baby. I never pegged you for a train jumper."
Bella came to her feet. However, the nausea hit. She staggered back a bit trying to fight it.
"Bella?"
She held up a hand. She quickly darted towards the open area. She hunched over and began to puke. Cass rushed over and put a hand upon her back. Bella was trying to let him know she was ok, but couldn't stop. To make matters worse she was simply dry heaving. She hadn't anything to truly rid of. Which made it hurt worse. Her eyes watered as she finally gathered herself. She lay back flat on the ground. Cass continued to look upon her concerned.
"It's all natural, don't worry. It comes with the territory of being pregnant. Honestly, it shouldn't last too much longer. I should be hitting that mark soon."
"Being with child makes you ill?" He looked completely lost.
She nods.
"It makes you sick to your stomach. It's called morning sickness."
He reaches over as if to heal her. She softly laughs and stops him, by taking his hand into her own.
"I don't think even you can heal me from this Cass. It just comes with it."
He sighs with frustration.
"I'll be ok."
He sits beside her and pulls her into his lap.
"We got a good ride ahead of us. Just hope they haven't given up on us yet."
"Was that all you needed?"
Samael nods towards the man that was with him.
"Well ok then."
Dean realized it was the manager to the hotel. Samael looked into the room. The four of them cut each other peculiar glances. Dean stepped aside.
"Um… come on in Sammy."
"Samael." The dark angel corrected.
"Sure, whatever you say buddy."
Samael gets right in Dean's face.
"Some human girl told me to come find you. Where is the girl?"
He looks around the room.
"Girl?" Dean questioned.
He couldn't believe his brother was standing right here. Nevertheless, this couldn't be more awkward.
"I owe this human. I shall not leave until my debt is paid. I demand to see this girl at once!"
Dean raised his brows at this and nodded. His eyes widened though as Samael grabbed him and slammed him back against the wall.
"Whoa…" Bobby said as he and Jo took out their guns.
Dean raised his hands in the air.
"Easy… brother…"
Samael shakes his head.
"So you truly are Dean Winchester? My human relative?"
Dean nods.
"I thought you'd be bigger, taller even. I was told you were this great hunter. You look nothing of the such. I see no warrior before me."
"Well I see we're getting off to a great start! You obviously take after dad!" Dean taunts.
Samael growls and slams Dean down into a chair.
"Once again where is the girl?! I must be getting back and haven't the time for you humans and your trivial games. She told me to come to you! Why?!"
Dean looked to Jo and Bobby puzzled.
"Wait… what did this girl look like?"
"She had long dark hair, ivory skin…" Dean shut his eyes already knowing.
"Bells… that'd be your adopted sister."
"Sister?" Samael questions.
Dean nods again. He fixes the collar to his shirt and straightens himself out in his seat.
"The human that managed to open the box is our sister?"
"Sounds like it. I'm going to beat her ass too."
"NO!" Jo yells as Samael punches Dean in the face.
"You'll do such thing. You will not touch the human girl!"
Dean sighs.
"It's a figure of speech. Great, we've got another Castiel on our hands."
Samael looks to Dean.
"Castiel?" He says with complete interest.
"You mean to say you know the great warrior that is Castiel?"
Dean rolls his eyes.
"Um sure. He's married to our sister."
"But she is human."
"Last time I checked."
"That isn't permitted not is it feasible. It must not be the same Castiel."
"If you're talking about Castiel angel of the Lord, which fought for millennia on the battlegrounds of heaven. Then you have the right one, if not then yeah we don't know who the hell you're talking about."
Samael paced around uncomfortably within the room.
"I've never had the honor… I've heard stories of the great Castiel."
"Great… so now my brother and sister dig the angel. What am I chop liver?"
Samael looks upon Dean.
"You are a very odd being."
"Touché."
Samael comes to a complete stop. He stands up straight as if in guard pose.
"I shall wait until the human arrives."
"Like right there?"
He nods.
"So you're just going to stand right in the middle of the room, for possible hour's maybe even days on end?" Dean questions.
"Yes."
"Huh… well you do that."
Jo looks to Dean oddly. Bobby shakes his head. The angel merely stands there and doesn't budge.
Cass and Bella exchanged stories of everything that took place, during their time apart. Cass continued to hold her as they talked. He was doing his best to keep her warm. Cass didn't like Lucifer's sudden interest in their child. He also found himself curious as to how Lucifer and Crowley were dealing with each other. The two loathed one another. Soon they'd be fighting to see who will go back into the box. They both will be trying to outdo the other now and run the show. Cass had all this running through his head about the latest events in his wife's life. The both of them wondered were Michael and Ezekiel was.
Bella's tummy began to rumble even more. His hands went over her tummy. He gently rubbed his hands along it. He still remembered what it was like to be hungry, thirsty, tired, and cold. Cass did his best to keep his wife's human needs in mind. It was no longer just her life he was responsible for, but that of their son as well.
The three of them had moved their little meeting into an abandoned warehouse.
"So let me get this straight boys." Crowley points to Raphael.
"You've been deported from Heaven, by none other than Michael himself. Seems your little green card ran past its expiration date. Castiel has managed to kill you once already. Then his lovely human wife that carries his spawn." He moves his finger towards Lucifer.
"And you wish to keep this so called abomination alive, whilst, he wishes to destroy it. What is in it for you? Keeping this child alive? You're up to something aren't you?"
Crowley circles the two men as his hell hounds keep guard. Crowley smiles and claps his hands together.
"Well by all means boys. I do love a good show." Crowley pulls up a chair.
He leans back and crosses his legs together.
"May the best one win…" He says with a genuine beam.
He pets one of his hell hounds as Lucifer and Raphael eye him suspiciously.
The train starts to come to a stop. Cass and Bella look to one another. They come to their feet. Cass picks her up as he jumps off the train. He places her back down they both take off running. They come to a stop half way. Yet, again Bella grows nauseas. She punches at a nearby tree as she vomits.
"Dammit." She uttered in misery.
Bella took in a deep breath once she was done. She turned back towards Cass and took a few steps. He lowered his brows as her skin lost its color. Her eyes began to roll back. Cass hurriedly caught her before she fainted. Cass shut his eyes and focused on his brother in law. He was trying his hardest to sense him. It wasn't as strong as Bella. But he knew he could do it if he focused hard enough. It took him a bit, but he'd finally picked up something.
He followed this and after a couple more hours, he found Dean's car at a nearby hotel. Castiel knocked on the door that the Impala was parked in front of. Dean answered the door, gun in hand. Dean took in a breath of relief.
"Cass, you son of a bitch! Thank God!"
