I own Vician Trannyth, Itris Highbinder, Kaxet Botfuel, Ororan Lonesnarl, Elkemin Winddreamer, Uraz'Do, Tibarn Bonefever, and Rili the succubus, all else to Blizz

A/N...

There are names of demons in this chapter that I didn't include in the ownership title above, because those are just classification names, and most likely will not become full fledged characters, because if they did, I'd probably have to hire a bunch of writers just to keep track of all the new OC's.

They are named to help the reader understand events and things that are happening, rather than have me add 300 words in a convoluted explanation on things that are happening.

Warning: demons, implied naughty thoughts, and hangovers

Itris Highbinder groans, rubbing her head as she leans against the wooden bookcase in Vician's house. She drank entirely too much the night of Deathwing's death and passed out shortly before midnight. Her companions however, had stronger livers than she. A crash from somewhere deeper in the house causes Itris to close her eyes, grip her head, and groan softly.

With the rest of the group looking through Vician possessions, Tibarn and Rili busy themselves by looking at the map of names behind Vician's desk. With wide eyes and mouth a-gape, Tibarn blinks as he looks at the names, "You Master was a genius," he remarks to Rili.

With equally wide eyes, Rili nods, "I know," she breathes, as if whispering a great secret.

Kaxet looks at the pair as he strides up to them. His eyes trace the curves of Rili as he speaks, "So, how's this warlock a genius?" he asks, crossing his arms.

"It wasn't by chance that the Burning Legion was affected by his Blood Contract trap," Tibarn says, glancing over at Kaxet. He points to one of the names on the board, "Glrabet; he's a void walker and a member of the Burning Legion."

Rili nods, drawing a line from Glrabet to another name, "Mingl; a Shivarra priestess, low ranking member of the Burning Legion, and associate of Glrabet," she traces the line to another name, "Enaugobaturon; a Fel Imp with ties to the Burning Legion and associate to Mingl," she traces the line to the another name, "Rorgil; an infernal who is an associate of Enaugobaturon."

Kaxet scratches his head, "so, what does that prove?"

"It means that Vician targeted members of the Burning Legion to snare in his grand trap," Tibarn breathes, amazed at Vician's plan. "He couldn't contact the demons personally because of their corrupting influence and the lack of names so he had the demons do it in his stead."

Rili nods, smiling at Tibarn, "Yes, my Master would then summon the Burning Legion demons with a named summon and sign the contract with them."

Kaxet scratches his head, "But if the Burning Legion corrupts anything in contact with it, why didn't Vician become corrupted?"

"Because," Uraz'Do says, catching everyone's attention, "De warlock was strong in de will."

Tibarn's eyes go wide, looking at Rili who matches his look, "An uncorrupted warlock," they breathe together.

Uraz'Do nods, "Ya mon, de warlock was uncorrupted; he resisted de pull and de corruption of de demonic ways," he holds up an ancient leather-bound, book, "'On de process of de corruption and de soul. For it is unknown what drives de warlock to resist de pull of de corrupting will of de demons, but those dat are able, hold untapped power over de other demons.' It seems Trannyth was one of de rare ones."

Kaxet strokes his chin, nodding his head, "Alright, so he targeted the Burning Legion and was able to withstand their corrupting abilities, but why would he do these things? Don't warlocks rely on demons to be summoned?" he turns and asks Tibarn.

Tibarn blinks and nods his head, "Yes, we do; but it does not mean we are allied with the Burning Legion."

Elkemin approaches the group, with several sheets of paper in her hands, "According to his notes," she begins, "he's made several references to the Naaru; with the phrase, 'Seek the Naaru' the most prevalent. We all know that the Naaru are bent on the destruction of the Legion; could Vician be working with them?"

Tibarn nods his head, "It seems the most likely. He would be a perfect candidate to summon demons who are part of the Burning Legion, have them sign the blood contract, and have them battle over his soul in death."

Kaxet smiles and nods, "Good, let's go find us a Naaru. Hopefully they have the power to return Vician to life."

While the rest of the group was discussing Vician, Itris ties to control her hangover, with her eyes closed tightly. She rubs her temples gently, breathing slowly out her nose, trying to calm herself. Her head suddenly get much colder, wetting her hair and dripping water down her face. Opening her eyes, she sees the orc warrior, Ororan offering her a glass of cold water.

Gently taking the water from him, their hands brushing up against each other, Itris takes the glass, nursing it in her hands. She offers a small smile to Ororan, "Thank you," to which Ororan nods in response. As the orc lumbers back over to the group, Itris watches him as he goes, gently touching the cold, wet rag on her head. She smiles as she walks over to the group.
