"Oh, hush," Lily playfully disregarded the denial. "Everyone in town can see it… not to mention how he greeted you the day you came. Dear Goddess I could feel the chemistry between you two!"
"But… don't you… you know…"
She smiled at him. "Yeah… but it was clear to me he'd never see me that way, and it's obvious now that he does with you, so I'm on your side. I'll back off."
"…Lily…" Harry weakly protested, and Tom could imagine the pink flush that must've filled his cheeks.
"It's impossible," protested the newcomer. "He would never… I'm just a…"
