Warning: Death and crying
Groaning, Rili turns and tosses on a woolen cot; another sleepless night out at sea. Sighing, she sits up and rubs her eyes. Rili smiles as she looks over at Elkemin and Ororan cuddling together. Slowly, however, her smile turns sad as she looks over her shoulder at Vicians' empty cot. "Empty," she murmurs softly.
When she visited Vician a week ago, she knew she made a terrible mistake. She lost her self-control and went to him, asking to make love. He—naturally—refused her and the whole thing escalated into a screaming match, where both parties said some pretty hateful things. It ended when she yelled that she hated him and slammed the cabin door. And ever since, they have been avoiding each other like the plague. The whole ship seemed eerily tense, as if everyone on board waited with baited breath for the next fight. Standing, Rili steps softly out of the cabin and up towards the deck, hoping some fresh air will help her sleep.
As she emerges on the top deck, she leans her forearms onto the railing and look out at the endless expanse of water. The ship was certainly peaceful at night and it allowed Rili time to think. Surely Sylvanas had to be awake by now and that hussy Kalira no doubt would have told the Banshee Queen about Vician's capture, who'll send the full might of the Forsaken down on Rili's head. What was she to do? Continue running until the end of time? Other than getting Vician out of the Undercity and as far away as possible, Rili had no plan to speak of. Soon this ship will return to Dutor and they would have to return to the Undercity and face Sylvanas' wrath. She is living on borrowed time, with the grains of sand slipping from between her fingers even as she tried gripping them tighter.
Shaking her head, Rili turns and her eyes catch sight of Vician's back on the other side of the deck. A breath hitches in her throat and she bites her bottom lip. Perhaps this is the moment to apologize for those hateful things she said. That is—of course—if Vician would even hear her out. Closing her eyes, she forces out a breath before opening them again.
Vician was no longer facing away from Rili, but instead looking right at her. His emerald eyes bore right into her blue ones. They stand there, just looking at one another for the longest time. "Master," she mumbles softly.
Pulling his cloak about him tighter, Vician sniffs and looks around, "It's a . . . quiet night," he says.
Rili nods and crosses her arms, rubbing herself. "Yea, it is. Kind of cold too," she murmurs, taking a step towards him.
Vician nods his head, stepping towards Rili in a slow and deliberate manner. "True. You want my cloak?"
Rili smiles as she steps closer to Vician, within an arm's length of him. Suppressing a naughty thought, Rili simply nods her head. "Ye-yea. Please."
The pair move closer to each other, until their bodies touch. Shrugging off his cloak, Vician wraps it about Rili, instinctively pulling her closer such that they are flush with one another. Rili rests her hands on top of Vician's red and black robe, her body trembling from the cold and desire. She looks up at him and her mouth opens to splutter out an apology, when a loud boom echoes in the distance.
"Alliance ship off the port side!" the Orc in the crow's nest shouts. The whole of the Horde ship springs into action, like an ant hill that has just been kicked over. Orcs and Trolls scurry on deck, pulling down rigging and hoisting the sail. The ship turns and a wooden vessel with the Alliance flag flapping appears. Rili holds tight to Vician as the Orcish captain shouts his orders to the goblin cannoneers below deck.
Elkemin, Ororan, and Kaxet run up from below deck and soon are assisting the crew. Cannon balls fly to and fro, slamming into both wood and water alike with a thundering crash. "Master," Rili says, clinging to Vician like a wet towel. She opens her mouth again to say her apologies, terrified that they may die before she has the chance to do so, but a sickening crack interrupts her and the ship rocks violently.
Rili is thrown back, out of Vician's arms and overboard. "Rili!" Vician screams and dives over after her. Elkemin runs to the rail screaming Vicians' name as he paddles over to the spluttering succubus. Vician—ignoring all around him—latch onto the succubus pulling her with him back towards the ship. Elkemin seeing this grabs a rope and tosses it over the side to the sea soaked couple.
Vician pushes Rili up the rope first and soon follows her. They only make it halfway up, before a loud crack is heard. The ship rocks and tilts towards Vician and Rili, before it slams back the other way. Rili smacks her head against the hard wood and goes limp. Vician moves to catch her, but in doing so, fails to see the second rock of the ship. He pulls Rili into him, just as the ship slams the other way, making Vician lose his grip and splash into the cold water below.
Rili's eyes open and she gasps. She coughs and struggles to breathe. She sits up once she gets her breath under control. Looking down, she sees that she is no longer on the ship, but instead a beach. She wonders how she got her, when the Alliance attack comes flooding back to her. Sitting up straighter, Rili glances around, "Master!?" she calls out. Slowly she stands, looking up and down the beach. She sees planks of driftwood, barrels with the Horde Sigil painted on, and pieces of cloth.
Further down the beach, she sees a body. Squinting her eyes, she scans the still form which is clothed in a red and black robe. "Master!" she screams and runs down the sandy beach towards him. She trips and tumbles, giving up on running and quickly crawls the rest of the way to the still form of Vician. "Master," she breathes her hands going to his face.
Her hands trembles when she sees that he is no longer breathing. She gasps and pounds on his chest, desperately trying to get the water out from his lungs. When this fails, she tries to pick him up and hang his head upside down, to allow gravity to do the work for her. She struggles to get him a few inches up, before her grip slips and he slumps back onto the sand. With tears beginning to form in her eyes, she shakes his body. "Master, please. Master, open your eyes, please."
So focused on Vician, Rili does not hear rustling in the trees behind her. She does not notice several figures moving up behind her, drawn by the screaming. "Hello?" one of the figures says tentatively.
Rili gasps and turns quickly to face the person behind her. Several black and white furry creatures stand looking at her with strange clothing. Of course, none of this matters to Rili, who motions to Vician. "Please help us. My Master won't wake up."
The creatures look from the body to Rili's tear stained face, before they spring into action. The creatures quickly approach Vician's body, kneeling about him. One of the larger creatures places its two paws on top of each other and begins to pump up and down. It does this a few times, before it stops and presses its mouth to Vician, blowing out air.
Another creature holds Vician's hand, with a paw on his wrist, searching for a pulse. Another, smaller creature stands by Rili, checking on her and wrapping a long robe about her. Rili watches the creatures work in tandem as they pump on Vician's chest and blow into his mouth. As the minutes pass, the reality starts becoming clearer and she begins to shake. The creature that was pumping on Vician's chest stops and sits back, shaking its head and looks up at Rili. Rili gasps and shakes her head, "No. No." she moans.
She pushes out of the grasp of one of the creatures, crawling over to Vician. Her hands shake as she pounds on his chest, tears pouring down her face. "No. No, Master!" she screams as her pounding weakens and stops. She wraps her arms about his body, her sobs wracking her body. One of the creatures rests a paw gently on her shoulder, which only causes her to weep harder. She gathers parts of his robe into her fists, which shake violently. "Master, no. Master. . ." she weeps into his chest. The creatures allow Rili to express her suffering and they simply bow their heads, sending off a silent prayer for this man's' soul.
