CHAPTER 9: I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP

"Hey, Riku. Could you do me a small favor?" Kairi asks with an 'innocent' smile.

Riku looks at his friend with a curious look. "A favor?"

Kairi nods, "Yeah, right now, I have two friends doing a Witch hunt. Well, I consider them my friends but I don't know if those two are on that level with each other yet." She says sheepishly.

"And?" the Keyblade Master asks with a raised brow.

"Could you just check up on them, and make sure they're getting along? Let's just say they had a rough start."

"I guess," Riku says hesitantly, "But why can't you check up on them?"

"Well, you're already familiar with one of them. She has red hair, tied in a pony tail."

It took a moment for Riku to home in on that description, "Wait a minute; her weapon isn't a spear by any chance?"

"That's the one." Kairi responds with a smile.

Riku can't help but sigh, "Did she cause you any trouble?"

"Eh…" is the only thing that came from her mouth before turning to the side, scratching her cheek, "Well, we did get in a struggle for a little bit…" She turns back to Riku, "But things are different now.

"I see. So is there a problem with her hunting partner?"

"You could say they're polar opposites of each other. One fights just for herself, the other fights for others. So, I sort of forced them to work together for tonight. I just want to make sure they're not at each other's throats yet."

Riku looks to the side, making a sound of amusement. "Okay. I think I see the picture." He looks back up at Kairi, "I'll check up on them for you."

Kairi nods, "Thanks… And there's something you should know."Riku looks at her, making a sound of curiosity. "The other girl, I'm friends with her and several others. And one of them got curious about my weapon, so I…" Kairi trails off. She looks up to her friend, expecting a scowl or something like it.

Instead, she was met with a grin after a few seconds, "It was bound to happen sooner or later. So what did you tell them?"

"Just basic stuff. It's a sword, shaped like a key, which can unlock anything. Nothing about how it's a special weapon. I sort of made it sound like I came up with the name myself."

"I get it. You think if they see me with a Keyblade, they might get suspicious of you." Kairi nods in response. "Don't worry about it." Riku looks down at his hand, palm facing towards his face. "It's not the only power I have," he says in a regretful tone.

Riku stands before Sayaka and Kyoko. Based on Kyoko's expression, he can tell that she is not comfortable with him at the least. He moves his eyes towards the bluenette. The Keyblade Master can tell that she is apprehensive about his presence. Riku looks back at the redhead before making a sound of amusement. "Fancy meeting you again."

His words shake Kyoko out of her daze before glaring at him. "What do you want?" she demands.

The boy shrugs, "Nothing much, just passing through. I just saw you and figured that I might drop by and see how you're holding up."

"Well, I'm perfectly fine!" she said tersely.

Sayaka looks back at Kyoko, before looking at the Keyblade Master, "Is he the boy you mentioned?" Sayaka asks in a whisper.

"Yeah. That's him." Kyoko whispers back. "You said you're just passing through?" Kyoko said to the boy.

"That's right," he responds nonchalantly.

"Now why don't I believe you?"

Riku shrugs, "Don't know. Maybe it's because I don't belong here," he said sarcastically, despite the hidden meaning behind his words.

"You're right. You don't!" Kyoko says before she transforms. After the process, she stands ready, spear pointing at the boy. "This time, you're not getting away."

Riku sarcastically face palms, shaking his head, "I see you haven't changed much." He looks back at her, "Remember the last time we met, you didn't even stand a chance." He looks at Sayaka, who takes a step back immediately. "Or are you saying its different because you have a new sidekick?"

At that note, Sayaka glares at Riku, "Hey, I'm no one's sidekick!"

"Oh. Then are you a friend of the redhead?"

Sayaka doesn't say a thing in response. It's true that she has accepted Kyoko but to consider her as a friend is far from it, despite the time they 'enjoyed' together.

"I don't need her!" Kyoko yells out before charging at Riku. "I can take you out all by myself!" Kyoko jumps for an aerial strike at Riku. Riku makes a sound of amusement before raising a hand above his head; ready to grasp at something. Kyoko swings her spear vertically, hoping to break through what the boy plans to use. Just as her spear is about to pass his hand, a dark cloud forms around the boy's hand before turning into a sword. The sword appears to be a demon's wing with a blue serpent's eye next to the hilt. The two weapons clash and the boy easily pushes her away. Kyoko glares at the boy.

*SHROUDING DARK CLOUD*

Riku makes a sound of amusement, "Is that all you got?" Riku says as he raises his weapon above his head pointing at his opponent, with a hand in front of him in an inviting pose. Kyoko grinds her teeth before charging in with a battle cry. The two 'dance' with their weapons, with Riku easily parrying Kyoko's attacks. After a minute of the dance, Kyoko thrusts her spear at Riku. Riku disappears in a blur. Kyoko, though caught surprised, immediately turns around with a sweeping blow. Only for Riku to catch the shaft. "Not bad, seeing your reaction's improved at least."

"Shut up!" she says as she manages to pull her weapon out of the boy's grasp before jumping back. It's just like last time…He's just toying with me. Kyoko thinks as she glares at her opponent. I know I said to those two that we need to team up to beat this guy. But there's no way I'm going to ask for help.

Sayaka, who has been watching the fight, thinks on the situation. No wonder Kyoko suggested to team up, this guy's way above our level. Plus there's something about him, I can tell he's holding back, but for what. I doubt he's holding back just to make things even for Kyoko. As Sayaka continues to think, Riku takes a step back. Kyoko readies herself. Riku's hand glows with a dark aura. He thrusts the hand forward, firing a ball of black fire. Just as the ball reaches the midway point, it disperses into eight smaller fireballs, catching the redhead by surprise. She jumps backwards several times, avoiding the bursts of dark flames. After she lands from a jump to dodge the last flame, her body tenses as she looks back. In her peripheral vision, she sees Riku ready to slice her into two halves. Seconds seem an eternity for Kyoko, but Riku still held his position; ready to strike. His eye catches something to the side before swinging his blade. "Kyoko!' Sayaka, now transformed, calls out just before she meets Riku's blade with her own cutlass. Riku smirks; pleased with the result before jumping back.

"What the heck!?" Kyoko yells out as she turns around, seeing Sayaka in front of her in a defensive pose."

"There's no way I'm letting some boy getting the best of you," Sayaka says as she stands firm. "Besides, if he gets rid of you, I wouldn't hear the end of it from Kairi. And…" she says before trailing off. Kyoko looks at her with curious, yet anticipating eyes. "I don't want to lose you."

"What?" Kyoko says, eyes blinking.

Sayaka looks back at Kyoko with a soft smile, "We're the same. We both made the same stupid mistake. Kairi is right. We may be different. But I respect you."

Kyoko looks at her with a slight jaw drop. She close her eyes as a small smile forms "I guess I can say the same about you." She looks back up at the boy with a determined smile as does Sayaka. "How about we show this jerk, what Magical Girls are truly capable of?"

"Yeah!" Sayaka agrees with a nod before the two sprint at the Keyblade Master.

Unknown to the girls, Riku's eyes are shining with admiration and respect; satisfied at how the two are cooperating with each other. The girls begin their assault and all three contenders dance around each other. Kyoko and Sayaka keep Riku busy, when one girl's attack gets parried the other strikes, forcing him to move out of the way or quickly shift his body to block. This continued on for a minute before Riku manages to put some distance between him and the girls. Looks like Kairi has nothing to worry about after all, he mused.

The girls stand ready, "Sheesh, this guy is good," Sayaka says under her breath.

"Hmph. Well, we got to hit him where it counts. Listen I'm going to use a little trick I just happened to learn. After that, that's when you make your move."

"Got it." Sayaka says and Kyoko charges in.

Riku stands ready yet confused. He knows the two have a plan of sorts considering that Kyoko is the only one charging at him. Just as Kyoko is in range to attack, she smirks. She immediately stops, placing one leg behind her, ready to thrust. To Riku's surprise, she suddenly charges. Riku's eyes widen, Wait a minute… I know that technique. Riku barely dodged the first pass, but Kyoko immediately faces him, before charging again, this time grazing Riku. Kairi forgot to mention this… Kyoko charges in three more times, each one grazing Riku, who tries to dodge them. Kyoko makes a sarcastic remark before going in for one final, powerful lunge. Her attack connects, staggering the Keyblade Master.

Before he can do anything, Sayaka's yell catches his attention. He looks up, seeing the Magical Girl ready to cut through him. Riku grunts as he blocks the sword with two hands, one on the hilt and the other on the back of his blade. Kyoko rushes up to him, aiming at his side. Kyoko, wearing a confident smirk, sweeps her spear at the exposed area. At the last second, Riku manages to push off Sayaka and turns to defend against the spear user, only for his weapon to get blown into the air.

Riku's eyes widen before he jumps back, slightly panting. Guess I underestimated them. He thought to himself as he sees the girls smirking at him. His weapon, which is now on the ground, disappears in a dark cloud. Riku gives a small smile as he straightens himself out. "Not bad." The girls prepare themselves for a counterattack. "I admit, you definitely got it down." Riku puts both hands in his pockets. He takes them out before looking straight at the girls, "Here are your spoils" he says as he tosses four small objects to them; two from each hand. The girls' eyes widen as they dismiss their weapons so they can catch them. The girls catch them. After opening their hands, they are greeted by the sight of four Grief Seeds; with both Sayaka and Kyoko holding two each. "Just one piece of advice," Riku said getting their attention. "Don't let your Soul Gems go black."

"What?" Sayaka is all she can mutter out before Riku jumps to a nearby lamppost. He spins around it several times before launching himself to a nearby rail, grinding on it before jumping onto a tree. He jumps from tree to tree and the girls can no longer see him. "What just happened?"

"That's what I like to know," a voice said in response. The girls turn around to find Homura. Homura looks at Kyoko before looking at Sayaka. "Where's Kairi? I thought the two of you were hunting tonight."

"Well, she managed to get me and Kyoko to hunt together instead. She said she was doing her own patrol in the meantime. So what about you?"

"I came here, because Mami asked me to. She said she met a silver-haired boy here. When I got here, I saw the two of you fighting against him.

"What!" Sayaka bursts out, "You just stood around and watched?!"

"I was about to interfere but since the two of you were keeping up with him, I figured you two had everything under control."

Sayaka glares at Homura before giving in with a sigh, "Well, there's nothing about it now."

"Since I'm here, I might as well tell you," said Homura, getting the other girls' attention. "Mami and I are going to meet afterschool tomorrow in my dorm." She looks at Sayaka, "I was planning to have Mami relay that message so you can be present." She turns to Kyoko, "And I highly suggest you come as well."

Nothing is said for a few seconds before Kyoko shrugs, "Well, why not? Got nothing better to do." Sayaka nods in agreement.

"Very well, I will see you both tomorrow then," Homura states before leaving the girls. First Kairi, and now this boy… Homura thought. Is it possible that they are connected? I wonder if she even knows about him? I think I should have a talk with her in the meeting tomorrow.

The sun shines brightly on a new day over Mitakahira City. The girls, except for Kyoko and Kairi, are at school. Until school is over, Kairi is free to do what she wants. She decides to look around an unexplored part of the city. Deep inside her head though, she is contemplating on the logs Riku gave her. So Riku thinks there's a 'dark' version of Kyubey. But from the sound of that conversation we had last night, that theory is out of the window. Then there's what he said about his new theory, hoping that he's wrong. Does it have to do with this new lead he's following? Kairi turns to an alley as she continues her thought process. For some strange reason, I'm sensing a faint darkness surrounding this city since this morning. It hasn't changed, but I still can't help but feel what I'm sensing is just the tip of the iceberg.

Kairi continues her stride in the alley. After making a few turns she comes across a straight path the size of a small street. Kairi walks forward, trying to get a feel for a nearby Witch or Familiar. All of a sudden, a hexagonal barrier appears about ten yards in front of her before turning invisible. Her surprise strengthens when she looks back, catching sight of another barrier before it turns invisible as well. Kairi looks forward, ready to fight against what is coming for her. A white figure suddenly appears from the ground through a black hole in the ground. Kairi's eyes widen, at the creature, its body swaying, as it 'stands' on height nearly equal to hers. Moments later two more appear from holes in the air and two more appearing behind her. "Nobodies!?" Kairi identifies and confused at the same time as she draws her Keyblade.

*SINISTER SHADOWS*

Kairi stands ready, waiting for the Nobodies to make the first move. The one that appeared first 'slithers' towards her before stopping, its body twisted. Kairi raises her Keyblade in time to block and disorient the Dusk. Kairi eliminates it with Triple Firaga. The other Dusks move around her. Two go upside down in the air, flailing their arms. Kairi dodges them, but gets 'kicked' by another Dusk that got behind her. "Thundaga!" she yells out, summoning a storm to disorient them. "Gather!" she yells out, as she casts a Magnet spell above her. The Nobodies are caught in its pull and are killed off due to their weakened state before the spell fades away.

Another group of five Dusks surround Kairi. They all charge at her at the same time. Kairi raises a barrier, blocking their assault. After pushing them back with a counterblast, Kairi bends down, Keyblade pointing straight at the Dusk in front of her. The next moment she passes through it; appearing like a spear of light. She does this several times, eliminating the main target while damaging the others. She performs one final pass, being the most powerful, eliminating two more (Photon Blade). The remaining two Nobodies swiftly approach her. Kairi quickly slides around them, confusing them as they look around. Kairi bends down as a chilly air surrounds her. She cries out with a spinning jump as a cold fog surrounds her, eliminating the Nobodies (Deep Freeze).

Nothing happens after a few seconds as she stands directly between the two barriers. Since they have not gone down, she assumes that it isn't over yet. Her hunch is right, but did not expect what made the next wave. Black spheres pop out of the air, armored solders spin out of them, landing on the ground, each one wielding a short sword in their right hands. Along with them are more Dusks and Creepers, the smallest variety of Nobody. "Heartless, too!" she cries out. The Heartless and Nobodies coordinate their attacks, keeping pressure on the Princess of Heart. After about a minute, she defeats all the Heartless and is now dealing with the remaining two Creepers. The Creepers morph into lances before flailing around. Kairi raises her barrier, protecting herself. She commands her shield to disperse, eliminating the Creepers.

Four more Armored Knights surround her and along with them two massive Nobodies, wielding axe-like weapons, known as Berserkers; one standing in front of each barrier. Kairi grits her teeth at her predicament. Still she is determined to end this fight. The Heartless charge at her. Kairi blocks their attacks with a barrier before pushing them back with a counterblast. Kairi bends on her knees before eliminating them with Salvation, leaving the remaining two Nobodies left to deal with. They slowly approach her. Kairi pulls off a Triple Firaga at the Berserker guarding the front end, the balls of flame strong enough to stagger it. Kairi immediately follows up with Photon Blade and severely damages it with the final pass. Not giving it time to recover she strikes the Nobody from behind, eliminating it.

The remaining Nobody swings its weapon at her, Kairi jumps back to dodge. Kairi fires off three consecutive Homing Blizzaga spells, piercing through the Nobody multiple times. The Nobody glows with electricity before merging with its now charged up weapon as it 'rages' across the battle field. Kairi casts a Reflect spell and manages to hold it until the Berserker finishes its assault. After the barrier disappears, bursts of light hover over the ground, eliminating the last Nobody.

A few seconds later, the barriers surrounding her disappear. Kairi simply stands there as she senses something. Her eyes widen before looking up towards the roof of a nearby building. On the same building, there is a ladder on it that goes to the roof. Kairi nods her head before walking towards the ladder. After climbing the ladder, Kairi stands on the middle of the rooftop, looking around. After a few seconds she looks forward, focusing on the presence that brought her here. It didn't take long for her eyes to widen as she pinpointed its exact location. She turns around, looking up, summoning her Keyblade.

*DESIRE FOR ALL THAT IS LOST*

The target is a large Heartless, about the same size as a Guard Armor. The Heartless' face is the usual black skin and yellow eyes. Yellow, flat spikes protruding from it, giving its head the appearance of a sun. Below that, its body is mainly cylindrical, dark yellow, and the emblem printed on the exact center. The body is connected to the head by a mechanical black joint. Below the body is a three-inch thick black cylinder with a large yellow stinger with black stripes with the point ending with black point. In short, the main body looks like a giant bee. It has two arms detached from its main body. The right arm is red while the left is blue, each with four black cylindrical fingers. The arms move like clockwork; when one arm moves down, the other moves up, in time with the head tilting its head to the right and left.

Kairi never heard of this type of Heartless from her friends before. She stands ready as the Heartless hovers down before stopping just above the building's roof. The Heartless moves backwards, Kairi chases it. But Kairi stops as the Heartless is no longer above the roof, keeping her out of range of close combat. The Heartless cocks back its red arm while the blue arm shifts in a guard position. The cocked arm shakes as flames appear out of the air and gather into its hand. Kairi jumps back; waiting for her opponent's first move. The Heartless thrusts out its hand, unleashing a shower of fireballs, which are approximately four times larger than a normal Firaga spell. Kairi cartwheels in order to effectively dodge the fiery rain.

After the Heartless stops its attack, it continues its usual clocklike movement as it moves forward; back above the roof and in Kairi's range. Kairi takes this chance to damage it as much as she could. The Heartless swiftly moves back, retreating to safety above the alley. The Heartless pulls back its blue arm this time with chilly fogs converging into the hand. Kairi, not waiting to stand around, fires a Thundaga Shot, jolting the enemy, though it did not make the Heartless flinch. The Heartless thrusts its hand, firing a large shard of ice that puts the Blizzaga spell to shame. Kairi cartwheels out of the way in time. She looks back at the ice shard and sees its momentum slowing before facing her direction. The ice shard comes back, Kairi's eyes widen as she barely dodges it. The process repeats for three more times before the ice shard turns into a harmless cloud of white smoke.

Kairi turns to the Heartless, which now hovers over the roof. Kairi bends down, Keyblade forward, before unleashing Photon Blade. Just as she finishes her attack, she notices the Heartless' arms go completely horizontal before dropping to about a foot just above the roof. Kairi gets an idea of its next move and brings up a barrier. The Heartless swings its arms in a circle so fast, it was nothing but a blur of blue and red. The barrier Kairi put up though is strong enough to protect her from harm.

For the next minute, the two combatants followed this cycle of offense and defense. The Heartless just stopped spinning its arms around. Kairi, who managed to escape to the edge of the roof, closes in. She strikes at the red arm with an aerial combo. Kairi somersaults forward for a combo finisher. Her attack connects and the fire-shooting arm disappears in a puff of black smoke. Kairi grins as the Heartless backs off. The Heartless brings back its remaining arm. The Heartless fires its homing ice missile. Kairi says in the center, casting Reflect. She holds the spell until the missile runs its course. The barrier of the spell breaks apart before gathering into her Keyblade so she can fire the Reflectega Shot at the blue arm. The spell explodes on contact, eliminating the Heartless' frozen arsenal as well as damaging the main body.

Kairi knows it's not over and is expecting the Heartless to pull all the stops. The Heartless shakes violently as its stinger glows with electrical fury. The Heartless points the stinger at Kairi and fires a massive electrical current surrounding a small beam. The Heartless maneuvers around the building while Kairi stays ahead of the beams path, which is creating an electrical field in its wake. After the beam loses its charge, Kairi jumps at the Heartless, dealing out as much damage as possible through physical strikes and magical might. The Heartless backs off, hovering above the alley. Kairi stands ready for the Heartless' next move.

The Heartless' head starts to spin around giving its head the appearance of a spinning sun. Its body shifts behind the head, stinger pointing straight back. If one were to look at it from the front, one could only see the spinning sun-shaped head. The Heartless stinger glows before the Heartless instantly propels itself at the speed of a bullet. Kairi, not expecting this maneuver, gets knocked into the ground. Kairi jumps back up, just in time for Heartless to come around and charge at her again. Kairi cartwheels out of the way just in time. The Heartless charges at her several more times as Kairi dodges or protects herself with a barrier. After the Heartless' attack, it hovers above the roof, back to its normal stance. Kairi immediately goes on the attack; performing Photon Blade. After her final pass, sparks erupt from the Heartless for a moment. The Heartless shakes violently before bending backwards. All of a sudden it drops to the ground. The Heartless slowly fades away into a violet mist as a giant heart appears from the emblem. The heart rises to the sky before shrinking and disappearing. At that moment there is no trace left of the Heartless.

Kairi sighs with relief, dismissing the Keyblade. She looks up to the space where the Heartless was. "That was quite impressive," Kyubey's voice said to her.

Kairi eyes widen in surprise before turning around, looking down at the Incubator, its tail swishing casually. "How long have you been there?" Kairi demands as she glares down at Kyubey.

"Not long. I saw you fighting against that monster. Just curious what was it anyways?"

Kairi makes a sound of amusement before glaring at the creature with a sarcastic smirk, "I thought you knew everything a Magical Girl needs to know."

"Unfortunately, I never saw a monster like that until very recently." Nothing is said after a half a minute. "I think I have figured you out."

"What?" Kairi said as she takes a step back.

"You're not a Magical Girl at all. How could you be?" Kyubey says at tilts its head. "You still have your soul in you, so it's quite obvious you didn't make a contract with me. So that makes me curious, what sort of power do you truly have?"

"That's my secret."

"I wonder… could you be the same as that boy?"

Kairi's heart skips a beat. She does her best to maintain her composure, "What are you talking about?"

"Kyoko told me of a boy that can defeat Witches. I told her such a thing is impossible. But now it appears there is such a thing. I happened to meet him on my way over here after meeting with a Magical Girl outside of this city. In fact, he was fighting against monsters quite similar to the one you defeated. The weapon he used, in a way, is similar to yours."

"Similar how?" Kairi asks with a curious tone. She decided to play along and pretends that she knows that she's the only one that uses a Keyblade.

"Well, the shape for starters. Not only that, he used magic quite similar to your own."

"You're kidding?" She says is fake astonishment, "There's no way I can have the exact same power as someone else, especially a boy."

"Hmm." Kyubey says as it looks down. "Now that I think about it." Kyubey looks up at Kairi, "You're right. That boy uses a power I never possibly could ever think can be controlled. And that power is opposite of yours. Perhaps this boy is a potential enemy of yours."

"What makes you say that?" she says in a cleverly mocked expression of worry.

"Your powers are opposite of his own. From what I gathered in your recent battle, yours is light. And that boy's is darkness. So it makes sense that as opposites of both power and gender that you two are fated to become enemies. Or… perhaps you are-" Kyubey is interrupted as its head jerk back and body is thrown into the air. Prior to that moment, something just passed Kairi; completely surprising her as it flew just pass her head before it nailed into the Incubator's head. At that moment the sound of a laser goes off. After Kyubey falls to the ground, lying on its side, facing the opposite direction. Kairi immediately turns around, only to see a few wisps of dark smoke disappearing from a higher rooftop. Kairi looks at Kyubey. Kyubey remains silent and motionless. A few seconds later it rolled onto its stomach before getting up, facing the same direction Kairi is looking at, "That's weird." Kyubey says. Unknown to Kyubey its head glows for a few seconds, something Kairi took notice of. Kyubey turns around to meet Kairi, "It appears this body has not been terminated."

Kairi glares at Kyubey. "What are you talking about?"

"I have multiple bodies to spare, just in case something would happen to my current one. But since there is nothing wrong with this one, I suppose I can still use it. Now then," Kyubey tilts its head to the side, "I was saying, you and that boy are connected. From what I've gathered, he is far more powerful than you."

"What are you getting at?"

"Just in case he is an enemy, it is best that you should become stronger than him. So I have a proposal for you. I can make you into a real Magical Girl, thus making you even more powerful as you are now."

"Forget it!" Kairi declares with a swing of her arm. "There's no way I'm making a contract with you. I can get stronger on my own. I don't need your help. Especially, if it costs me my soul!" Kairi exclaims with a swing of her arm before turning around. "I've had enough with you today. So just stay away from me," She says as she walks towards the alley she came from. Moments later Kairi jumps down back into the alleyway, kneeling as she lands. After standing up, she looks back up; glaring at the roof. Looks like I can't keep my secret for much longer… she thought before she walks away.

Riku's Log 8

My rendezvous with Kairi is worth the trip. Based on her adventures here and what she told me of her situation, I'm beginning to see the system this world is in. However, I must not yet jump to conclusions. Though my newest theory is sound, I still need proof. Until I reach my destination, I suppose it is best to mention the key pieces of evidence regarding to my theory.

The first of this evidence are the Grief Seeds. These items that are the remains of Witches are used to purify a Magical Girl's Soul Gem. Based on what Kairi told me of the process, Soul Gems start to cloud with darkness each time Magical Girls use their magical abilities. In order to cleanse them, a Magical Girl must use a Grief Seed to purify them. Based on her observations, the darkness filling up in the Soul Gem is transferred into the Grief Seed, thus 'purifying' the Soul Gem in a sense. Much like any container, Grief Seeds have their limits. If a Grief Seed gains enough darkness, the Witch born from that Grief Seed will return. Before the Grief Seed reaches this stage, the Magical Girl will then give the used seed to Kyubey. At this point, who knows what happens next?

Yen Sid told Kairi that Kyubey and the Witches are related. Perhaps he may already have an idea of what is happening in this world based on Kairi's reports. This Kyubey is truly a suspicious being. Based on information Kairi gathered from a Magical Girl, Kyubey is here to collect a special type of energy in order to prevent something called entropy. I myself do not know much of the subject but the energy Kyubey collects comes from the Grief Seeds as well as the battles ensued between Magical Girls and Witches.

Back to the subject of Soul Gems, I have been wondering. What happens if a Soul Gem goes completely black? From my knowledge, a Magical Girl would be completely defenseless and unable to use magic. Not only that, it would be near suicide if they attempt to hunt a Witch in this scenario. But something about Soul Gems going black has some deeper meaning. If my theory is correct, making a contract with Kyubey is like signing a deal far worse than death.

Speaking of Kyubey, I had the 'pleasure' of meeting him. Throughout the encounter, I did not mention anything regarding to the Heartless or the Keyblade. Apparently he heard about me from a Magical Girl, no doubt it's that redheaded one. He caught me dispatching a group of wandering Heartless. If he saw me wielding the Keyblade, then Kairi's cover may have been blown. Regardless, we are both now tied into this world's problems. Considering Kyubey as the source of this world's ailments as well as an outsider interfering in the affairs of this world, I decided to dispose of him, hoping it would prevent future incidents. Unfortunately my actions are in vain. Out of nowhere a second Kyubey appeared. He mentions having multiple bodies, in case if the one he is using is no longer available. Looks like getting rid of Kyubey is no easy task.

Author's Note: Due to the amount of excessive homework I have from college, I may not be able to post the next chapter for a month, at most.

But if time allows, I will see if I can get the next chapter up and running.

Until then I hope you are enjoying yourselves with this story.
